Mornin' boys.  Pretty groggy this A.M.  Working too much O.T. this week.  Will be headed up to Perryville this evening to get my NS-Amtrak-MARC fix.  My friend Tom & I go up there every year around this time.  It's a very busy place after 2100 hours, as it is the junction of the former Pennsy Port Road with the North East Corridor.

I better get a nap.Sleepy [|)]Zzz [zzz]

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cool and sunny 49 degrees. Going up to 80 today with lots of sunshine..

Today, I have a few things to do around the yard. We have company coming. later this afternoon. Niece and boyfriend. He wants to work on his car. Needs to borrow my tools. I will spend some time in train room, cleaning. Things are getting dusty. Need to run trains for awhile.

I enjoyed the chat room last night. It was good to talk to all of you, that showed up. It goes fast.

Well, Dining Car is here. Time for breakfast. I'll try to send it to " points west " and then to " far points west ". Maybe for lunch. Catch all of you later.

Y'all have a great Saturday.

Ran trains.  Re-did a Lionel smoke unit on one of my scale SD80's.  Smoke had dropped down.  Shell off and found some char and loose solder join at element through board.  Cleaned element, resoldered both joints, put in new pink insulation, shell on and drown it with JT's.  Smokes up a storm now.  May re-do the other SD80.

Need help with the usual MTH trash. Grumpy [|(]Banged Head [banghead]Censored [censored]  One Triple Crown car keeps uncoupling.  Had to put it at the end of the train [long train of piggybacks and double stacks].  Guess I have to get some retainer/braces rubber bands.  Anyone got another cure?  Seems the only rolling stock that does this is MTH.  Got some more MTH cars that do this.  Also, another Realtrax switch just quit.  This one does not respond to the controler [acts if shorting out lights] and the switch will no move manualy if you turn the switch lantern.  If you move the switch points, the lantern does not move.  Acts as if the whole thing is not connected to the switch machine.  Getting tired of being a switch mechanic on these high dollar switches.  This and having to pull it out of the middle of several in layout.

Off to bed.  Goooood night all.

Hi folks, just got back online - did I ever mention how much I LOVE windows!!!  Banged Head [banghead]  Can't get on my network, but I can get online now at least.  Somehow, windows won't see my network now, but I can back up my files from quicken and they update in the shared folder???

No nuked popcorn for me tonight, John - sorry!  Went to Culvers and had a butterburger deluxe with rings and then for desert I had a 2 scoop banana split.  I can hardly move!

Wife is cutting a check for Jeff Kane right now for my new circuit board and motor for my 4-4-2.  He's one nice guy - already shipped it based on my email and told me to send him a check!  He did that with the last order I placed with him, too.  Thanks for the headsup guys on that, I didn't thnk of trying a 3rd party seller and Lionel would have been much more $$$

Got an email and deepdiscount is shipping us the complete series of Buck Rogers for $16!  Ha - they had it on sale and I nailed em with their 20 percent off code on top of that.  For $16, it's worth owning ---  bdbdbdbdbdbdbdbd- that's right, Buck!  I wasn't sure they would honor that, since it wasn't the regular price on the set, which I think is normally like $40 or $50 (too much for that series, but for 15 to 16 it's worth it).

Oh, and Trainz sent me an email and my preorder 0-6-0 Lionel Lines loco and Boom cars shipped!  Big Smile [:D]  I got that modern loco repair manual, but not very useful on my problem - basically it says if you have these symptoms, it's the circuit board so replace it.  D'oh!  It does have some good stuff in there including how to fix the fan on the smoke units and stuff.

I've got a picture for you guys that my wife took while she was on vacation - uh, I mean WORKING, in Washington all week.  I'll post it on Sunday!

Jaabat - I think you are hilarious, keep it up!  Belated birthday wishes for Julia!  I read the pot every day as often as I can and usually catch up on reading all the updates on all the threads at least once a week.  It's too much to reply to everthing and I don't have much to say on some topics, just trying to learn,  but I sure appreciate this forum, esp this thread, and esp all you guys who put up with me and share so much good info and great humor/fellowship.

Well, I think that's more than my share of words for today so talk at ya later!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Back from Lowes [bird feed and bolts], Macy's [wife returning and buying], Belks [wife buying pocketbook, number 1,233] and dinner at Ted's Montana Grill.  Train time.  Too full for popcorn right now [we had the strawberry short cake desert].  1/2 of 1/10 inch of rain. Sigh [sigh]

Good evening,

It was a busy day babysitting.  The older granddaughters had a good time at Lake Tobias.  Of course when they got back it was like listening to stereo as they both had to tell me all about it, at the same time.

Laz, Congratulations on the 11th.  Hope you have many more.

Take care,

hello all, was an interesting day so far. I went to antique shops looking for train signs and memoribillia, and was very surprised. I went to one found a rr crossing pole with flashing lights for 50 bucks, works on 110. i am gonna buy it.i couldnt get it today as i was driving the convertible. Stopped at another and was bombarded with ho train stuff. they had a table with a 20 x 20 filled with ho stuff included two working lines. Dont konow alot about ho but they had a rivvarossi 4-8-8-4 sitting there. almost bought it. was nip for 125. but id rather blow money on o gauge. he did have some  lionel o and af stuff as well as marx but he wanted a little too much i think.

but he has a 224e and a 2026 with tenders no whistles for 75 for the pair, think i will pick them up tomoroow.they are in really good shape. I thought the price was fair but didnt have that much cash and he was closing...i picked up a bad vibe from this shop though so i may not go back....does any one else no what i mean?

well im bbq ing ribs tonight so catch you all later

catch you in the chat room

Thanks Mitch, BTW, if you have RFD-TV, tomorrow a program called Trains and Locomotives.  This episode is on WMRR and goes from the big steamers to the diesels.  It is on at 0900 EST.

Finally got home, a little scare when the caller ID showed the hospital, but it is a case that can wait till Monday.  SWMBO is making her list for when I am home alone this coming week.  Kicker is that our son is having his 5th birthday party next Saturday, so I will be in charge of all the leg work, cake, getting carpets cleaned, etc.

Got another train in from UPS today.  This is a classic locomotive, called the Puff Puff Loco.  They don't make them like this anymore.  Wife actually loves it.  For those not informed on these gems, they are the noisy things that whistle and light and bump into the walls and turn around.  They are great!  Especially when you give them as presents to kids who's parents have given your kids such things as "spin art" and drum sets.

Take care,
Dennis

Happy Anniversary Laz !! And many more !! Big Smile [:D]

Nice day at work today & the electrician came to replace bulbs in the one yard light in front of our shop. This is one of those hundred foot high ones with a cluster of 8 big lights just like the ones on Freeways. While it was down, we mounted a flag to the cluster & put her up there & boy, does it look nice way up there blowing in the wind !! Got to get a picture now !!

Well, it looks like Dennis will never get off his restriction now with a hobby shop opening near him !!   Laugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D]

Good Afternoon all, I feel like I was holding a bomb that went offDead [xx(]  Sometimes, my brain and body for that matter, just don't want to function.  Bad headache and my eyes hurt.  Maybe I can become a WalMart greeter!

Laz, Happy Anniversary!  My bride and I have ours in September.  One of my friends told me when we first got married to celebrate our honeymoon, take the week off, go somewhere alone.....  Anyway, we moved to an area where we have no family around and with little kids, don't want to leave them, so we take the kids on our "honeymoon celebration" and it is, shall we say, a bit less exciting.  But when the kids get old enough, C-YA! , Mommy and Daddy will be home...sometime!

Got some good news, a hobby shop is opening about 1/2 hour away from me.  I will still use my favorite shop in NJ, but sometimes, it is great to have a place to visit and look.....buy.

Hope everyone has a good day, and weekend.
