Hi GIZ,

Hot and sticky here today at 94.  laz CAMP started at 0520 this morning a nice cool although humid start for a five miler.  Had to start early cause of heat and plumber coming.  He got all the pipes capped off.  He tore out old tub.  I later took down all old plastered walls.  Set up old shower in basement, it works.  Went to school cut up wood for shims and got materials for new walls, that goes in tomorrow.  Wife will do the painting of the walls.  Then on Thursday put in new shower.

FIFE, sounded like a tough workout there.  Heard those MARYLANDERS at train shows are an unruley bunchWink [;)].  Remember PACE YOURSELF bud.

No Fife !! I didn't know about the cheating till they were talking about it before the race & I heard Rusty Wallace say they are trying to take the engineering away from the owners & drivers of the cars. Which means no one but Nascar can be creative or come up with new ways to improve on designs. I can see where this is a good point, maybe ? !! I was saying it was dumb putting these cars on a road course track, but I did kind of enjoyed the race after a while. I don't think they will put Funny Cars on a Nascar track, though !!  Laugh [(-D]

Howdy boys.  Passing Tstorms around area.  Need rain too.  Hey Bakeer!!!  Kick a little of that fine STOCKPORT weather back across the pond.

CHIEF - Peek might be having problem with the bacon grease.  My Collie gets seizures like that too.  Now I'm also dealing with floating fish im my pondDead [xx(].  Gonna empty it out as far as I can tonight.

Buckeye/rt - Happy Anniversaries to you both.

Laz57 - I did "fifecamp" on Sunday = 3 circuits around train show in Timonium.  Lifted a whole forest and 2 O-Scale buildings as well.

Doug,

Everytime you approve access to a web site or a certain program, Norton (Symantec) is adding that site or program to an approved site/program list. One has to drill down into the Norton Internet Firewall menus to find this "allowed" list. In my case, even though the list showed IE as "allow", it was being blocked and the tech and I could not figure out why. So it turns out there is a RESET button under Norton that cleared the "allowed" programs list and then we specifically added IE (instead of waiting for the program to ask me to) as an "allowed" program and then everything started working again. This is just one example of Vista and other programs being out of sync and there is no way to fix it except to reset everything and start over.

I am having the same problems with the recognition of my wireless card. The lower right tool bar icon will say I am only connected to my wireless access point, but if you double click on the icon and open the wireless connections window - it will say it is connected to the local access point and the internet. Thus Vista cannot resolve the conflict and is lost and nothing works.

Regards, Roy

Thanks for the kind words guys, my problems are as nothing compared to some of my kinsmen (and women), a lot of flooding and general mayhem from the storms (wettest June ever recorded) a months rain in two days, a lot of the places affected are close to me (particularly Yorkshire). I used to do a little light duty courting around the reservoir that is ion the point of bursting.

Ick, Roy. I have Symantec - I have carefully turned off allegedly conflicting Vista settings - we'll see if it lasts. Although it is like the Apple commercial where it annoyingly wants me to approve/deny a lot.

Wish we had a bit of your rain.

Doug - just wait a while. I spent 3 hours on phone yesterday to find out Vista got lost with Norton (IE7 access to the internet was cut off). Reset Norton and all is fixed. The issue is many S/W providers are out of sync with MS Vista and Vista patches so their stuff just quits working although it says it is. Very frustrating.

Zeke - sorry about your friend. We will keep him in our prayers.

Chief, Dennis, and all southern sympathizers - we are going to have to redouble our southern defenses - where is Dr. John?

Chief - our neighbor's dog came down with epilepsy late in life - maybe something similar on your peke?

Cool and raining here. Had four showers yesterday - 2 were heavy. Can't get anything done outside.

Talked to Don B last night about his Brewery problem. Making progress. Fan motor is bad and the CW-80 is OK, but it's fan has gone out. I think I have a CW-80 fan I can give him. He is doing well and having a blast with the new layout (About 1/3 built) and locos he got at York this past spring.

Have a great day all!

Good morning from a sunny and hot Chicago - reminds  me of Rome. Hope the A/C in this building works today - it got stuffy yesterday. This is my late night due to my class tonight - starting after a delay due to last week's jury duty - hope the students show up. Ran trolleys last eve in the basement - coolest room of the house.

It's been hot, make that very hot, here the past several days.  I try to get my outdoor work done before the sun gets too much above the tree line.  Glad I have AC in the train room, the oldest GD and I spent about an hour running trains Sunday while Grandma had the other two out shopping.

Its going to be another long weekend for me at the store, the boss is heading up to NY state to pick up a collection he's purchased.  A elderly collector of Lionel MPC is liquidating his collection.  The boss has the van and trailer and is hoping that he can fit it all.  Its a collection that has multiples of a number of items: sets, engines, rolling stock, etc..  As he said its putting a big dent in operating reserves but well worth the trip and cost.  If anyone is into MPC e-mail me a list of your wants and I'll get back to you once he's back and things are sorted out.

We'll guess I'll get out and do the 50 hr. maint. on the JD lawn tractor before it gets too hot.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It's a beautiful, sunny morning of 65 degrees. Going up to 90 , today with sunshine. It's gonna be hot.

Today, I will be outside this morning, and then probably be in the train room, this afternoon.    Woo, ( Rocky's brother ), is going to the neighborhood groomer, for a bath and trim. He has been doing pretty good, but the heat is bad on a long coat.

Ordered a new boxcar from Williams yesterday. Got a nice discount for being a Platinum Club member. Takes two days for delivery.

Well, Dining car has arrived from " points west ", and is ready to serve breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Tuesday.

Good morning all,

It is hot and humid in SE Indiana with chances of rain each day.  We had a nice shower last night, but it was over early enough to get the soccer practice in.  The rain made the field nice and soft on the feet, ankles, legs, and bones in general.  Still a little sore today.  Lucas and my wife were watching "The Longest Yard" remake with Adam Sandler when I came home.  I am back to my regular work schedule and regular car pooling, which makes it nice not to have to drive every day.  There was just the regular fare on the dining car for "Points East" this morning and I may have to check out Zeke's donut shop.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Morning all,

BuckeyeHappy Anniverary.  I've found the best gift we can give our spouse is appreciation.  Sometimes I get so self absorbed in my stuff, I fail to appreciate how special our spouse is.  Fall into the trap of taking them for granted I guess.  Someday I may learn.

Rained the past couple of days so grass is greening up and growing.  Hope to get off work on time to take my bride out for dinner.  Her 50th was Sunday and we had the kids up, tonight will be lower key.  Bride's present is going to be a trip to Glacier National Park in early September.

The house we "rent" to daughter and kids had septic tank problems and had trouble finding the tank.  Previous owner forgot where it was and we did a lot of digging where he thought it was.  Well, we know now.

Got some trees off ebay for my American Flyer All Aboard set.  This will fill in for the missing ones.  Tried for some extra houses but missed out.  Looking forward to this year's train show to set it up.  Folks around here not real familiar with AF to beging with and the All Aboard is rarely seen.

Off to work!

May God bless

Jim

Good evening!  Got a little warm in St. Louis and rained for about 20 minutes, including a few minutes where it was really pouring down.  Unfortunately, back here in civilized Arnold, there was no rain at all Sigh [sigh]  Still have storms in the forecast though.  Got a box from the Train tender, so work to do.  Expecting a nice big box from Trainz soon, too!  John Baker, hope you feel better soon!  Nick, looks like they are getting things sorted out anyway.  They'll soon have it put to right, as they say.  Sir James - sounds like you are excited.  I'm sure you'll be able to find some extras at the store, too!  Chief, hope the dog is okay.  I'm sure I forgot a lot of folks, prayers and other stuff, so hope everyone is doing better than expected and enjoying life!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Cooking a big pan of squash and onions in bacon greese and some water.  when they get soft and most of the water cooks out, then they are ready.  Having them and cucumbers in salt, pepper, vinager and some sugar.  Wife did not eat all of her prime rib and it has been in the frig since Friday night.  She is at the beach so prime rib will be on my plate too.

John B, get well.  Told you Dennis was playing with someone's heart.  Sure enough.  Better get to work on his trains.  Western on Halmark Channel.  Eat the cookings and then popcorn.  Later.

Buckeye, congrats on the anniversary.  May you have many more.  As to Canada and DUI, when I went up for a deer hunt, you have to "register" your firearms.  If you had a DUI, you could not register and thus, could not hunt.  They do take it seriously, but also like to generate $$$$.  Anyway, have a good trip.
