Fife, all those Heritage schemes seem to come through Chicago sometime. Sorry I missed it. Just yesterday I saw a ratty patched SP unit run light through Crystal Lake - not too many of them out here - there was a beautiful orange and black GP20 in the CL yard a year ago to run the local switch job. Lots of Armour yellow and grey these days

Nope.  Tought Men's class for years before I retired and started traveling.  I'm pretty good on Biblical History.  Something I love.  Love watching the History Channel when they feature that.   Tought a Sunday School class one morning at a retirement home.  It was on Jacob [Israel].  Called him a lier, cheat and a scoundrel.  Then said he was forgiven and became one of the Lord's best beloved and father of God's chosen people.  Afterwards, lady came by and said, "New twist on Jacob.  Never heard it told like that."  My reply was, " The truth.  Shows even the worse can be forgiven and great with the Lord."

Afternoon.  Busy morning.  Went out to water [high temps and low humidity sucked up the .2 inches of rain fast] and ended up spraying an invasion of little Japanese critters. Shock [:O]  They were eating up the world since last night.  They are sick now.

Jim F, heat up a little bacon with a flame, stick it on a mouse trap and watch.

Brant, some folks comments I ignore. Whistling [:-^]

No on takes Jim A for serious.  Really, my trip to New England was to get him out of the "nut house".  His wife would not get him out.  Felt sorry for him so I flew up and signed him out.  If he does not behave, I will revoke my signature. Laugh [(-D]

Wife leaving for beach.  Bad thing is I have to teach her Sunday School class.  The eldery ladies. Shock [:O]  Will get some train things done though.

Lunch time.

Good Morning all, (late morning).

Happy Anniversarry George and Pam...

Chris spent the night at Disneyland, Grad Nite.  Most of the evening dancing.  The park is open only to local High Schools,  they jam as many as 4500 to 5000 kids in.  The kids are there from 10pm to 5am.  Pretty much a local tradition.

This week has had about 3 Friday nights, I am SOOOOO glad its FRIDAY for real.

Had a real challenge, trying to make my INPROCESS train room look presentable, and of course had to have a demonstration capability.  It all went pretty well.  My Grand Nephews, 4 and 5, really were interested, and WOW did they have the questions.  We ran EVERYTHING !  Great fun!

Later

Good Morning from the Bluegrass

Well, its overcast here right now, probably gonna be another hot one.  We're still way, way behind on rain, we got some the other day but its so dry that it never made it to the streams and creeks.

No train plans today, except maybe taking the NYC off a caboose I bought a couple weeks ago.

Gotta run my wife to an appointment in Nicholasville this afternoon, then tonight we have Relay For Life.  So I doubt I'll get to the caboose today.

BTW, Happy Anniv. Laz!!  So how long has she been picking up after you?  *nevermind* would have helped if I ready your post.  11 years eh?  My wife and I celebrate 11 on July 27th.

Mich Jim - I have been to Traverse City a few times for work (ugh). BUt if you gotta work, what better place. I have biked the Rails-to-Trails line there (forget the name). Lot's o' fun! Nice restaurants there. Nice folks.

Mike C - Grits from the sky - you got that right!

I still owe my wife a dinner from our 21st on June 7th. We did the "all family" dinner. Been too busy to get out recently.

Doug, Arthur Fiedler was a Boston institution until he passed away. He's one of the all time great decomposers now...

Which reminds me...what's brown and sits behind the piano? Beethoven's last movement!

The Boston Pops are usually broadcast nationally on July 4th and at Christmas each year.  I believe A&E broadcasts the Christmas show. Not sure if they also show the 4th concert.

Good morning from a grey and cool Chicago where I heard it may rain... don't remember what that looks like this summer. The bride got it in her head to re-do the youngest's room yesterday so in typical fashion, she finished it in a day - cleaned, painted and now 'camping-themed' with new paint on the walls, and a cool tent over his bed and other bear-and-fishing accessories...

Jim A, I suddenly remembered watching Arthur Fiedler (sp) conducting the Boston Pops as a young 'un on Channel 13 in NYC -  back when we had 6 channels. Always a great show --  I hope Julia enjoyed her special day.

Happy Anniversary to you and Pam, Laz.Wow!! [wow]

Zeke, all the trolleys mentioned are 3-rail AC and run on 027 curves. Some have sound.

Fife, I missed seeing that UP special train - I think it was 1996 - you referenced a few days ago.

We have a peace accord? I thought they threw grits and we threw buckeyes.

jaabat,    I like your post on OGR read them all the time. Even toss in a few rounds myself sometime. I use a different Handle there. But this is different, we can talk to each other I assume we have to mention trains once in a while. No problem for me I love toy trains an don't care what size they are. Low 80's today but next week back to the 90's. Everyone enjoy the days we have.  REGARDS to all,   Mich. Jim
