Mornin' boys and ladies. Overcast and 60's here in the Mid-Atlantic region. A rather subdued coffee-pot this AM...but still:
HAPPY 4th of July to everyone.
rt - Don't let Puss'n boots lick your face!
dougdagrump - No racoons or snakes. Foxes on the other hand...and the occasional blue heron.

Ha - first thing I did! My daughter thought it was funny watching it go around backwards. I think there is something stuck in the coupler? The plate is hard to pull down. The coupler will close and click, but then just opens up. I might mess with it tomorrow.
Jenny, our friend's dad just had an angioplasty (literally about 2 hours ago) and they said he'll go home tomorrow or Thursday. He has to go back in 2 weeks for another one, but they want him to get better first. He was 80 percent occluded.
A pacemaker actually replaces the electrical node in the heart that regulates the heartbeat, which is ablated or "killed" on purpose by the doc. This is also called an AV (atrioventricular) Block. Wish Dennis was online - I just read reports, I'm not a doc or anything and my books are all at work. I don't know how that would be related to his legs or neurological system and they didn't say he had a stroke, right? I'm sure they have him in those leg compressors and they are checking him for blood clots etc. My guess is that he is getting good care and will be fine. As for his tumor, I read up on them a little after his earlier post and they have a good success rate of removing them, so my guess is that they will stabilize him and then do that surgery after he has had a chance to heal up from this operation. I seem to recall that he said it was a tumor on his pituitary gland? This is tied to the endocrine system and all that that entails, so could result in heartrate problems I'd guess? Paging Doctor Dennis?
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Prayers out for Zeke.
Fife-> Not only is it KittyKats that will get your fishies, you also have to watch for racoons and snakes.
Chief-> Be glad you were out here earlier, it has turned hotter than here. Wouldn't you know it, the A/C goes whacko and can't get a service appointment til wednesday of next week.
Most of family out for a visit has headed back home. I am pooped, being chief-cook and tour guide wears you out.
Been doing a lot of work on the "G" layout, used some composite lumber to make what kinda looked like a curved girder bridge w/o the outside bracing. Function was good but was not happy with the form. Now I am going with some composite lumber I ripped down to 1/2 x 1/2 and cut to length. I'll use these to make rubble filled piers to support the track across the flagstone wash.

Hey guys thought id post this.Im at the hospital (well actuall outside at a coffee shop). And he has woke up finally. He isnt talking yet just staring at me. Kinda creeping me out a little honestly, the way he's staring at me. Glad hes awake though. He was awake for about 20 minutes. No response though just awake. I told him i posted to you all and you send get well wishes, to him. he smiled. They doc's said he lost alot of blood during the operation, andhad minor difficulties with the pacemaker but its in. They also spotted a hole in his heart which they repaired, they told me he can leave here as soon as wed or thursday as lond as he shows improvements. Im not sure if he will be here if you mailed him cards. If you want to send them please just send them to our home, i dont think he will be here long they said its working properly and really only need him to stay here 1-2 days. Seems short time for a pacemaker operation but im not dr.

Same here Jenny. He's a survivor & a fighter. He's gonna make it .
Thanks, John
RT - Gotcha, thanks!
Well, I finally unboxed my new Lionel Lines Docksider. It's got a darker front end and actually is very sharp - engine #1. Unfortunately, the rear coupler doesn't work? I'll call Lionel on Thursday and see how fast they can mail me a replacement. In the meantime, I'll swap it with the front one I guess. Once the replacement comes, I'll take a screw driver to this one and see if I can figure it out.
Thanks for the update on Zeke, Jenny. Please keep us posted.
Our prayers are for you, Zeke.
Chuck
Jenny - Thanks so much for the update. Please tell him everyone is concerned and praying for him. As someone already said - if you can post his address at the hospital, we'd love to send him some "snail mail".
Take care of him for us!
Lisa
Wow, Its nice to see you all care so much for Zeke( btw his real name is Brian he hates it but thats what it is Zeke is his middle name) Well Zeke did suffer a heart attack last night. His heart stopped last night for 4 minutes. (sorry its hard to type this without cryin) They brought him back and he's in critical condition, they took him into syrgery last night and took out his diflibulator. I was told it was infected around the area of it. Also something i didnt know is that his heart is in backwards, and when he was shot in bagdad the bullet removed a section of his heart. Whoever performed surgery on him saved his life. But theres a section missing from his heart. Which in turn causes him to have a very slow or irregular heart beat, the doctor called it bradycardia. I believe thats how its spelled. so they gave him the diflb. But the doctors here said that he should have had a pacemaker instead. so they are installed a pacemaker. He hasnt woke up yet and the doctors are worried his body is nt responding. Hes still in critical condition right now. He also has this brain tumor they want to remove, not sure if they are gonna do it or when. waiting to hear from dr. Zeke is a survivor he will pull threw. This man has been stabbed three times, shot 3 times, suffered 2 heart attacks, a brain anurizim and has a brain tumor, he will pull threw this, he has to.
Goin back to the hospital now.

We always knew there was something a little "strange" [won't use the Q word] about Jimmyboy.
Back from my walk to the pond and feed the fish. Found a BIG fire ant nest on neighbor's property. Went over and treated it for him. Sucker was 3 feet long and 2 feet wide and 6 to 8 inches tall. Made those sucker mad. Saw 6 winged ones come out of one hole. All were dying when I left. Then ran into the ground hog that lives in hole at property corner [under fence but mainly on neighbor's side]. Would have shot him with 9mm but the whole town would have gone crazy as loud. Might have thought it was fireworks. He is living chramed life. 22 LR or 17 HMR will get him soon. So far he has been eating neighbor's soybeans [along with the deer from my lease]. This time he was in one of wife's flower gardens.
Later.
Jaabat - TMI = Too Much Information!
Prayers were said for Zeke and Jenny. If you log on again, Jenny, please let us know what hospital etc so we can send a card or something.

Anybody know how to download pics from a Razor Phone to a computer? Colin?
Got my TCA Quarterly, but I'm not in it yet - probably the next one. I did notice there is another member in Arnold though! Also got an email from my division guy - they have a meeting in September, so I'll have to put that on the calendar.

A 5-star summer's evening here in Massachusetts. Temps around 70, dry, clear and quiet. Our town's fireworks are set for tonight for some reson. If the kids are still up at 9:30, I'll walk them down to the park to watch them. If not, I'll watch them alone from my bedroom window.
