Too late for that, man, right now I've got all the walls up and pipe and cable run - looks about like this:

You can see the corner I'm thinking about here in this pic - back next to that cement wall, where I have a big pile of old ceiling tiles we got when my wife's place of business switched ceilings.  These are metric and don't fit regular ceiling systems.  Plus, they are pretty beat up.  I think they'll make some nice hills and mountains, though!

Good evening all,

It was a cloudy rainy day in SE Indiana with temps in the 80s, but the weather was fine for the parade this morning.  Watched my soaps and spent the rest of the day upstairs in the attic running trains.  I ran the 8E and the 10E with both the freight and passenger cars.  I also cleaned off the train table with an old Electrolux sweeper that was my grandparents.  All I had to do to get it to work was get a new hose for it a few years ago.  I think it was made in the 30s or 40s as it has the Art Deco look to it.  It seems appropriate to use it to clean my standard gauge stuff.  I know Zeke has a long road to go, but it sounds as if he is on the way to recovery.  The dining car had the usual fare for breakfast this morning from "Points East".  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Happy 4th of July!

It is nice to Zeke is back on line and up and about, if in a wheel chair.  The best to you Zeke.

Hope everyone had a nice holiday.  Jean and I spent it eating and shoping, even worked in a game of miniture golf.  Had breakfast at the world famous Round-the-Clock Diner in York, PA.  But didn't have scrapple. Smile [:)]  Or grits!

Tomorrow I'm going to the Reading Days at the PA RR Museum in Strasburg.  Supposed to be some modular layouts there, not sure what scales, and other vendors and displays on the Reading RR.

Take care,

ZEKIE!!!!!!!!!!  Glad you are able to get around.  Did they crack your br e  a st bone? [have to do it that way as software will zap]  That was the worse part of my heart surgery.  Cough pillow was my best friend for several months.  If so, DON'T SNEEZE!!!!!  Had me walking the next day after surgery.  Get those legs going old buddy.  Keep posting as you get a chance.

All the fireworks are gone now.  Would you believe, 7 deer stood out in the field while the fireworks were going off [and that is close] as well as neighbors setting their's off right at the edge of the field.  Made cherry/pineapple ice cream.  Make regular vanilla and add chopped maraschino cherries and can of crushed pineapple [drained].  Will slap your Mother for this.  Just checked with Maglight, deer still out there eating.  Now it is ..................................[you guessed it] microwave popcorn time. Evening All

Great news about Zeke getting better.  Going the fast track prayer route!!!

Went and cut grass for my friend Bob.  Came home and we cooked out brats.  Grandkids and daughter came up and we had fun.  Got some rain so we didn't go for the fireworks.  Nice evening.  Got some things to take care of then going to bed.  No alarm in the morning!!!

May God Bless all your needs ; especially Mable and Zeke!

I guess I missed it, John?  Are you cutting a car down or something?  Hope your flag is still waving today!

Won a "new" craftsman drill on ebay.  I dropped mine one too many times from my ladder I guess and the clutch was broken.  This is the same model, so I'll be able to keep the same batteries and stuff.  I actually had 2 14.4 volt drills, one a pistol grip and the other a tall side drill model with 2 chargers and 4 batteries.  Now I'll have 6 batteries, 3 chargers and 2 good drills (I hope).

Ran my train as long as I could, but the family wanted to watch tv.  Oh, don't run the boom cars under the overpass - Mistake # 9,876!  Dunce [D)]

I'm thinking strongly of changing my plans entirely and putting my next layout down in the basement, near my workshop in an unfinished corner.  I think I could do a U shape, about 8 by 7, with a bridge at one end....  This would do away with sound restrictions while others want to watch tv and also alow me to use the smoke units!  I'll have to get my friends to help me move a work bench, and I'll need some light fixtures, but I think my wife would be overjoyed to see this stuff out of "Her" family room!

Back from the cookout. I ate too much and loved every minute of it. Played some tennis with the kids, watched the ballgame, and flirted with my wife. All in all, not a bad afternoon.

Laying low now as the weather has turned and it's now drizzling. Wifey and the kids are making popcorn and watching "You've Got Mail".

Looks like we'll watch the Boston Pops tonight on tv. Might go run some trains now. Maybe even a pink one!

Wow, lay low for a few days and look what happens.  Zeke and Jen, prayers are with you both.  From what I have read on the posts, my biggest concerns are that the infection, hopefully it did not cause any endocarditis or that when he had moments of stasis, (lack of blood flow) that he didn't throw any clots.  If his legs are not cold, then they are probably OK, but clots can cause strokes to different tissues.

Lot been happening here too.  We had the anniversary of the fire in which we lost 5 guys on July 1st, always brings me down and I take pause to remember them.  Then, had a friend of my wife and mine who had ovarian cancer that has metasticized and things look bleek at this time.  In the mean time, had my son's 5th birthday party on Saturday, my daughter's "gottcha day" on Friday, and we went to a amuzement park with the kids on Monday.  Long day at work on Tuesday, and so here I am on the 4th and trying to catch up.

Currently watching Voyages on the train hobby, mostly on Lionel.  Neat program.  Then, dinner and get ready for fireworks.  I don't think we have any cases in the morning, so hopefully a late night won't be too bad.  Hope everyone has a great 4th.  Remember the troops who fight for the freedoms we enjoy.

Jimbo,

I LOVE those old Warner Bros cartoons! The one you mentioned is hysterical!

Ran trains this morning while the wife and kids were outside. I ran my new scale F3, my B&M Pacific, and Julia's Girl's Train. The whole room was filled with smoke! Emphasema here I come! All trains hauled freight this morning.

My Williams membership is about due for renewal, and I'm trying to decide which freight car to purchase. I'm thinking orange New Haven or Boston and Maine. The last 2 years I've bought cabooses. I wish all life's decisions were this hard.

Getting ready to head off to a cookout. I hope everyone has a great holiday. Remember that we live in freedom becuase others thought it was worth while to fight for it.

Well, I ran my new train a little last night.  Need to get some stuff done on the basement, but instead I'm watching a dvd of Bugs Bunny cartoons with the kids!  I love that one where Porky and Sylvester are in the old house and the mice make them think it's haunted!  Going over to our friends later for some cook out, but probably won't stay long as De Anna is at the hospital with her dad who had an angioplasty last night.  Please add him to the prayer list.  Praying for Zeke and Jenny and Mable, too!  I used to love the Prairie Home Companion radio show - I'd love to eat those buscuits for sure!  The Norwegian Bachelor Farmers were great too.  The best story ever was Tomato Butt!  I tried to read the book that came out a few years ago, but I couldn't get into it.  I'll watch for the movie, thanks for the headsup Chief.

Happy 4th of July, folks!

Morning all.  Everyone's up early. Woke up to rain and boy do we need it, didn't last long but I'll take it. Hopefully zeke will leave the hospital feeling better than before, sounds like he had problems he ignored and should not have. Passed through the train room this AM think I might revisit before the day is done. don't expect much sleep until late tonite because of all the fireworks in the neighborhood. I hope everyone has a safe and food filled day.

Morning.  Special prayers for Zeke.  Emailing Dr. John as he has been so busy he does not get to forum too often.  He'll add him to his Church's prayer list.  Do the same here at mine.  Disabled Vets are close to my heart.  They gave for us.  Chat later.  God bless.

Morning from the Midwest.

It promises to be a hot humid Fourth today.  Getting ready for a family cookout. One of them is a 4, almost 5 year old, and his little sister who are bound to be playing with the layout this morning.

One thing I like about Lionel is how easy it can be to adjust the route.- when I went down to clean up the work in progress this morning I realized I can smooth out a cuve with some O72 track. this will allow me to put in another siding and have additional capacity to spot rolling stock.

Good morning from a grey and cool Crystal Lake where it stormed powerfully most of last evening.  I love t'storms. We need the rain. I am also praying for Zeke and his recovery - thanks for the address, Jenny. Very weird to have you online during this mid-week 'weekend', Jim A. I want to see that PHC movie too - maybe I'll rent it in the fall. Jim F, it is  very difficult to move photos from your Razor to a computer - Motorola made it deliberately so - the bums. You either have to use and pay highly for the data transfer function of your cellular service (and that is mostly to send it to another phone) or search the internet for a fix - it takes certain open source software and all sorts of tinkering. I've decided it is not worth it.  Happy 4th everyone!

Happy Fourth of July from New England!!!

Prayers for Zeke. Sounds like the guy has his hands full. Remind me not to get down when life hands me a little upset!

Stayed up late last night watching the fireworks, them Prairie Home Companion. Jeeez, everyone is in that movie! Kids woke me up early after I stayed up late last night. Pumping myself full of caffiene (sippy sippy!) to wake up.

I'm getting hungry. Time to tell the wife to get out of bed and make me some breakfast! Yeah, right...

Oh, in case anyone is wondering, and I know you are, I'm fully dressed. Smile [:)]

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

Happy 4th of July to Everyone !!!!

It is a cloudy 65 degrees. Going up to a sunny, 88 today, with a chance of rain this afternoon

Jim ( jaabat )...Time to wake up. Where you at ?

Zeke....Glad to hear you are doing better. You'll make it.

Today, I am taking the usual Wednesday drive to Cambridge, to pick up some groceries. Need to do that. Wife is doing much better. She needs to take it easy today. Still have not made it down to train room. Maybe, later today, I will get a few hours to run trains. Hopefully, we are settling down, here, to our normal living.

Dining Car is here and ready. Time for breakfast.

Y'all have a Great July 4th Holiday.
