For Jaabat.  Woody Harrelson did this one in Prairie Home Companion on HBO.

I was playing at a bar.  Beautiful lady came in.  Asked her why she was there?  She said, "LIQUOR."  So, LICK HER I DID.  I don't work there anymore. Laugh [(-D]

John, you need a machine press to get the ball joint pressed in right. The cost is nominal, like $5-$10 and is well worth it. Break your heart and spend the money! Squeak squeak!!!  Wink [;)]

Good night ladies. See you in the morning. Commando Friday, right?

Fife, like this?

Jim (Sturgeon) - take it easy on the arm.  I tore something in my left forearm while moving sheets of plywood in a strong wind and my arm wasn't right for a very long time - still not as strong as I think it used to be.

RT-Too bad about your job.  I pray another door opens soon.

John-Autozone will loan tools like pickle forks when you buy the parts there.  You pay a deposit that gets refunded

Zeke- Keep your spirits up; there is still a lot of good work for you to do!

Still pampering the muscle tear, cut grass and did some yard workand straightened the garage, but used right arm primarily.  Got to let it heal for the upcomeing garage addition.

Moved some trains around on the layout.  Removed the 650's passengers and put the 21088 Franklin with the coaches.  Not the "right" era, but looks cool.  I'll get some pics to share on Sunday

May God Bless

Good evening from New England! Just got through a round of loud thunderstorms here. Ran the Polar Express with a long freight behind it. Also stamped the cab of my 2025 with a rubber stamp and some silver ink. Looks like the real deal to me.

Bought myself an airbrush this afternoon. A Badger single-action job. I know, double action is better, but if I can get good results from a spray can or a brush, I can make this airbrush sing with a little practice. It was $90 at AC Moore, but I got it for $54 with a 40% off coupon. Also bought the silver ink for the 2025 there.

Nice truck, Chuck! Filled with hot goods no doubt!  Wink [;)]

Where's Foghorn Leghorn tonight? I tried calling him on his cell phone and no answer. That boy, I say that boy is as sharp as a bowling ball.

Wow RT, that is really bad news!  Yes, you can get unemployment unless you quit, I think.  Will pray you get a better job really soon!

Chuck - there is something very familiar about your truck!

Well, spent about 2.5 hours at the eye docs.  Wife got a new prescription.  Daughter is a-ok.  Son - couldn't examine because he has allergic rhinitis right now and just got meds.  We'll have to take him back.  My far vision is not as good as it was 10 years ago - down to 20/20.  Near vision is off and I'm getting reading glasses, but no bifocals.  She said I was 20/10 for distance back then.  I paid $35 extra to get pics of the eyeball - pretty cool!  With glasses and all exams, it was like $550, which seems high to me.  We're going to go through it with a copy of our insurance.  Apparently they upgraded things from what the insurance pays for or something?  I think they charged us co-pays on some stuff that we don't have co-pays on though.  My wife will soon set them right!

Trainz shipped my bobbing head dracula car.  I think that leaves the witch and pumpkin cars for me to collect?

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Hello or should I say  rainy hello from south Florida, not as bad as Texas and sorry to see all the flooding there, but if it keeps raining just might get that way(the flooding).  Was living in Dublin GA, June of 1994 I think, when I-16 by the Otis Redding bridge in Macon GA flooded and was closed for about a week.  If it kept on raining there was concern that Lake Sinclair upstream from Dublin would be forced to do emergency releases of water and add to flooding in Dublin, the bridge between Dublin & East Dublin was in danger of being flooded over at the time.

Zeke,  I glad to hear that you are doing better, but sorry to hear about your hospital stay!  Don't pest the nurses too much or they may quit attending to you like they should or might give you a shot to calm your nurves.   I work at Delray Medical Center in Delray Beach FL, about 25 miles south of West Palm Beach FL, not part of the medical staff more like support, trying to get into Plant Operations(maintenance section).

mornin' fellas

Zeke - glad you are doing better.

I'm beat...

Cooked 10 chicken breasts, 10 hamburgers, and 8 hot dogs on the grill yesterday (all at the same time) and still had loads of space left! Smile [:)]  So it looks like I can let the old grill go to a good home!

Also opened up the MTH Firehouse yesterday and found a K-Line transformer in the box with it!  So of course I set it up and tested it... works like a charm! Smile [:)]  Everyone thought it was really neat, wife even smiled when I fired it up! Smile [:)]

So I got the wainscotting up.  Looks real nice (will post before and after pics later).  On my last trip to Lowes I picked up some 2x4s and underlayment to build a platform so I can replace the foyer light.  After that project is complete I'll use the lumber to get started on the layout.  I am starting back to school next Tuesday and I don't work on large projects when in school, so that gives me 6 weeks to work on the layout! Smile [:)]

BTW - I'm tired... YAWN!

'morning from a sunny and warm Crystal Lake where it is my turn to take the youngest to the lake for swim lessons. Oh well, that means I get to sit in the sun for 3 hrs too - I've been reading a lot of library books lately. Finished a transit history of Chicago, a few mysteries and a huge photo book of pre-merger color shots around Chicago by the retired editor of Railroad and Railfan.  Tackling my new book on the Chicago L today. Very very glad to hear from Zeke - have a safe day all.

Zekie, glad to see you are doing good.  You in a VA hospital.  Can't believe they are throwing you out this soon.  I left in 4 days and folks thought that was a rush.  Leg never bothered me as only have two 2" scars from veins being pulled.  They got a lot of mammary veins.  Never had the drugs you are getting.  In fact, switched to Tylenol after a couple of days.  Get those legs going.

Better get going.  Watered this AM early as no rain yet.  Later.

Zeke,  good to hear from you, do what the Drs tell you and get well. I would ask for a blowup doll instead of that squeeze pillow though.            Mich. Jim

Zeke, good to hear from you.  Glad you are up and about.  Pretty nurses are becoming a thing of the past, so I had to marry one to have around.Big Smile [:D]  Anyway, I suspected clots could be a problem and the stroke.  They will probably want to do a echocardiogram to see if you have any growth on the valves in your heart.  The infection is not a good thing, so I am sure you are on antibiotics and they are high doses.  If you start to have problems of a GI nature, you may want to get some yogurt to eat.  That should help with the side issues of antibiotics.  Anyway, keep getting better and don't over-do it.  With a wired sternum, you will feel some "clicking" as you move.  You don't want to be doing any lifting for a little while.

Chief, my deer are like yours, they hang around to the point you can walk up to about 8 feet from them.  The shephard does tend to make them dart away.

Not much going on.  Thankfully I don't have a case this morning, so when I am done, go to the gym and work out a little, pick up kids and head home for Train Time.  I did get the OGR in the mail and it was interesting checking out the CTT car being madeSmile,Wink, & Grin [swg].  I hope to get some reading in on the Sanda Kan factory in China.....I saw many  similar buildings while over there.  They are a very industrious country over there.  These people will start work at 7am, not move from their post till the bell at lunch and then right back to work till the 7pm bell.

I hope to catch up with Y'all later.  Till then, God Bless,

Dennis

Good morning all,

It is a cloudy warm day in SE Indiana with temps in the 80s.  Yesterday was one of those days you would like to bottle and keep on the shelf.  It was very relaxing.  As I was running the trains last night, just about everything was perfect.  The layout was swept off, all the lights were on (which is a rarity), and the trains were running fine with few stutters or unexpected reversings.  I was switching cars back and forth and alternating between freight and passenger runs.  The temperature in the attic was comfortable with the fan blowing and life was good for a while.  Sometimes I wonder if the effort spent on collecting is worth it and moments like that make it all worthwhile.

I have been following the status of Zeke and I am glad to hear he is doing better.  It is amazing the power of the internet in being able to reach out to people thru out the world in time of need (or celebration).  I do have some good news to share with you.  Lucas went in for his last regularly scheduled CAT scan on Tuesday, and all the results came back good.  For those of you relatively new to the forum, my son Lucas started his battle with testicular cancer about this time last year.  He will still have to be monitored for the next four years, but no more CAT scans.

I am sending the regular fare on the dining car to "Points East" this morning.  I hope the waitress is doing better there.  I hope everyone (especially Zeke and Jenny) have a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cloudy 70 degrees. Going up to 80, today with a chance of more rain this afternoon. Got a shower, yesterday, for about an hour.

Today will be a resting day for the wife. She over did it, the other day and a lot of pain came back. So, I will be taking care of her and she will be in bed most of the day. Told her, she has to take it slow.

No time in the last few days for running trains. Maybe today, I can spend an hour in the train room. Need to.

Zeke....Glad to hear you are doing better. Jenny is a " keeper ". You both are in our prayers.

Well, Dining Car is here and self-serve again. Time for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Thursday.

Good morning from New England!

It poured here last night. The grass isn't complaining.

We ran trains last night. The Polar Express pulled a long freight through Jumijo while Julia's pink train refused to smoke...

Zeke, put some clothes on! You want Jenny to get all hot and bothered? Besides, everyone knows that tomorrow is Commando Friday!

Get well!

Morning to All,

Had a lazy day yesterday.  Had cookout at my sister's and got to see Brian. Also got to see my Dad's cousin, she's 84 and still goes bowling every week.  Lives by herself and you'd never think she was 84 by the way she gets around.

Zeke - glad to see you are on the road to recovery,  you know you are feeling better when you are checking out the nurses. Take care of yourself.

Jim Fortner - been there and done that with the layout in the family room (and also on the wife's sun porch). I am now relegated to the garage in a small space, but SWMBO does not complain about the noise, or the mess, and has not been measuring the space to see if a new sofa will fit.  My space may be small (and hot or cold depending on the season) but it is all mine.  The size also has put me on pretty tight train restriction, if I buy something, I gotta get rid of something, because there's no room at the inn.

csxt30-John - that must be one frozen control arm rubber bushing.  Hope you get it out, but try not to set anything else on fire Laugh [(-D]

Chief - sounds like you need to bring LAZ down for a little deer hunt. Those are some pretty brazen deer that don't move during fireworks. Cherry-pineapple sounds like a great combination.

Speaking of cracking open chests, I don't know if I had mentioned that my buddy Dave who has the Goodpasture Syndrome that wiped out his kidneys had to have 5 bypasses about 4 weeks ago. His lungs were filling with fluid, which at first they attributed to dialysis not being effective. Turns out that his heart wasn't able to pump away the fluid. He said his chest wasn't as bad as his legs where they took the veins.  His leg is still a mess, but finally healing. You never know what life is going to hand you. This guy rarely ever had to take a sick day in 33 years, then wham.  He's been off since February 12 and there's no sign he's going to be coming back soon.  He's trying to decide whether it would make financial sense to retire or continue to stay out on medical leave and use up his sick days.

Have a great day,

Mitch

chief--you couldnt be more right, when i got shot it split my breastbone in half almost, will never forget that pain. And of course it was done again, i tell you that is some horrible pain, its almost imbearable, but they have me on a morphine drip, i can just press the little button every 10 min if needed, and i need to.  Plus the nurse is keeping my full of something so i dont feel much.NurseThey moved me to a regular room and now i can have my laptop, so i now will be online some, when I am not passed out. or too loopy from the drugs. The doc told me i will be able to leave tomorrow. I couldnt believe this, i would have thought id be here longer. This is good cuz the hospital food sucks, and i miss my trains, oh and jenny. I mean jenny then trains, ya. I guess i had a blod clot to but they did something all i know is i  cut stitches on my legs too. I must have picked to older persons side cuz all my nurse's are 50+ were are the young cute bubbly ones. Oh well .Jenny told me that i aint here to look at nurses, i tried to argue the point but lost.Wink [;)] They tell me this new thing in my chest is better and its been improved, but i will have to keep being monitored and have to get a new battery in 8 yrs, i feel like some dang cheap toy. All n all im okay now, i am now wheelchair bound though, atleast for a little while, i cant get my legs to work right.. But im alive. for now. I have to come back in a month and they want to do this tumor removal. they tell me its almost a in and out thing, might stay 2-3 days and then go home. Crazy, still not thrilled about someone going in and tickeling my brain. I guess theres room to do so,lol. well maeds are kicking in  Nurse tomorrow is a bunch of Xrayof my legs. so much fun. And dont worry chief there will be no Messy Sneeze

it hurts really bad i already did that once, you want pain have your chest ripped open. Thank you everyone for your support its nice to see i was missed.

By The way i got to see some fireworks from my window they were great, but what was even better is there is a huge train bridge that must span 1200 ft or more will the fire works were going on a laong train went buy it was all black because the fireworks were behind it but it was high in the air and had 4 diesel's pulling it i bet it was around 125 or so. beautiful to see, made me think of all of you guys and gals!

Happy 4th
