SHH!!!  Behind enemy lines.  Don't want them to know I'm here.  Remember the Great Train Robery with the General.  Well, I'm going to steal one of theri trains and take it back South.

Hot day in Roseyville.  Mid to high 90's and need rain.  Roy, hope you are not swiming.  Saw that big rain near and above you.  Better get things going here in Roseyville. [snicker]  Later

Chief, watch out for infiltrators on this pot.  Good luck and I hope to see some of your purchases posted.

Roy, I do hope things are well for you and the family.  I got a message from my friend at Ft. Hood.  They had a tornado go over their house, but touched down a block over and take out several houses.  The streets are flooded, but they are OK for now.

I have had several ideas floating through my idle mind lately when it comes to scenery.  While the track layout will remain the same, I am thinking of extending a mountain to allow for more in the way of structures.  We shall see.  My bride is taking the kids down to the coast next week, so I plan to get alot done so the Chief can't put me down.

Another day without rain here. 92 and the grass is brown, a few neighbors still water their grass but water bills are high as we get detroit water and they decide how much to charge the suburbs. I water the flowers and veges, thats it. I am tired as we had two days of grillin and eaten, still have not ate today. No new train stuff received but that is OK, already have enough but the closeout target set can't be passed up, again don't need it but to good to pass up. A GOOD DAY TO ALL.

It's a beauty of a day out there! And the Chief is holed up inside his room as we speak. Most likely watching something naughty on the tv. He has a car and will be venturing out soon. The North will never be the same...

Hi, all! Busy over the weekend so I didn't do any posting. A belated "Happy Father's Day" to all the dads on the forum.

Hot and sunny today and still very dry. We have a 60% chance of rain tomorrow, the best chance in a long time, so we're praying hard that we see some accumulation.

Dennis, I heard about your pastor and his probably being the next SBC president. He's got an excellent reputation - I'm sure he would do a great job.

Have a good day, all!

Evening all

Hot and dry in Southern Ohio.  97 out back, and humidity.  Broke down and set the A/C to come on.  Inside still at 78 so after being outside it's feels good.  Had a great  Father's Day.  Kids and grandkids came up.  Grilled out and ran trains and looked at back issues of CTT.  At 4 1/2 the twins are hooked on trains

Get to build the garage addition for a Father's Day present. Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]  Get to park the truck inside!!!!

After this week and finals I want to start.  Classes don't restart till September.  Trying to decide wether to rent a backhoe and prepare the ground myself or hire it out.  Need estimates for the decision.  The concrete and building I'll do.

Well back to the studies and final papers

May God bless

Well, day 2 without the wife.  Nothing much going on.  Oh, yeah, until the babysitter called and said my boy broke his tooth in half and it woudn't stop bleeding!  I raced back to civilization from the city and the bleeding had stopped.  I checked and decided it was one of his last babyteeth ready to come out, so we braced ourselves, screwed our courage to the sticking place, and yanked that sucker out!  Blindfold [X-)]  Yeah - uh, what's that in the mouth?  More tooth?!!!!  Rushed call to dentist, wife for insurance info, wife again for directions, wife again for more directions, and we got there 1/2 hour early.  Dentist looks in, pokes it, and tells us it's the adult tooth coming out already - it was wearing the baby tooth like a little crown?! Banged Head [banghead]

WHEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHWWWWWW - it's MILLER TIME!  Of course, alone with the kids, this turned into a trip to Taco Bell, but it's the thought that counts, right!  This is what pays for Fathers' Day, y'know?!

Luckily, they didnt charge us for the 2 minute examination.

Got my plasticville library addition email, so it's installed and works great.  TTFN

Uh - Zeke, did you say you have a brain tumor?  Man, hope they get that fixed asap!

Chief, keep your head down and your powder dry!  Come back with your shield or on it!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Good evening from a muggy Crystal Lake where we had a few thunder storms tonight that broke a long streak of 90 plus days.  Jury duty this week  - first time in a decade. It's fun. I get to sit in a big room all day and read a pile of novels and train magazines. But I have to go back tomorrow - cancelled my class too.  Not sure about this new Dell laptop with Vista Biz edition - it works just like that Apple commercial...

Evening all!

Stayed dry this afternoon here. Flooding is bad in a small part of NE Ft Worth (Haltom City) and along the Red River (About an hour north of here) in Gainesville and Sherman. My wife's mother had retired to Sherman, but she passed on about 10 years ago. We used to go there all the time to visit. My wife used to live in Gainesville many years ago before we met.

Chief is holed up to watch the Dateline special on Princess Dianna's sons. Ssssh - Chief - good news on the infiltration! Make sure you keep the GRITS dry until the last minute!

Zeke - I am happy to see that your support for your new friend has gone well.

Doug - Alert! 16 yr old drama levels have gone to sustained fission levels. Stand clear in case it spreads north!

Regards, Roy

sounds like you had a busy dad day.....i remeber those...

yes i have a tumor about the size of a peanut sitting on my putuitary gland, was found 6 months ago, thats what is causing my blackouts i found out, not my deflibulator....ya i am in rough shape right now.. i go in around july 9th to get it removed...if i ever seem to not make sense thats why it affects my thinking and common sense....but the va docs tell me i will be fine, they are going threw my nose to remove it. im not worried. heck if three bullets and two stab wounds didnt end my life then a stinking little tumor wont....

also i went an seen charles today hes doing good, i snuck him in some taco bell, he loves their chalupas, his wife gave me a huge hug and told me thank you for everything id done, she said if it werent for me he would not have seen his kids this weekend,he hasnt seen them in a very long time, she said to have them on fathers day meant the world to him.I told her I felt compelled to do it. If i survive 85 ys i want my family to see me after i take a fall. thats what family does. Maybe since i no longer have any family alive i am more compassionate, i dont know. But that man loves them kids and they should have come. Not even a question in my mind about that.  He told me today that when he gets better that hed like my help to move some train stuff upstairs, he wants to run his stuff before he dies. I told him id be honored to help.

see to me thats what life is about, helping one another, going above and beyond. Last night for example: i was driving back from the store and there was a car on the side of the road with their hood up, its after midnight, dark and so i stop, i almost always do. Their was this woman 40's with a flat tire. I changed her tire for her. Shed been thier 45 minutes and nobody stopped, in a bad part of town too. Why wont ppl stop? It took me 20 minutes maybe to change her tire. This bothers me, makes me wonder if anyone will stop for me when im older and cant do these things. Sorry to babble.

i hope everyone is doing well tonight. I will catch you night owls around i have progress to make in my train room

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cloudy 60 degrees. Going up to 84, today, with a chance of a thunderstorm later.

Today, I will be working around the house on a few small chores. I was going to mow the front yard, but rain may delay that. Grass is still not growing fast. Later today, I might work on layout scenery.  Bridge looks good. Really stands out.

Dining car is here early. Don't know if it's been to " Points West " yet. It is time for breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Tuesday.

Good morning all,

For once it is cloudy with a chance of much needed rain for SE Indiana with temps in the 80s.  Zeke, you do have some adventures and I enjoy your observations on life such as the bug and the windshield.  I had class last night and got home around 9 PM.  I had to do dishes and did not get to bed until 11.  Fortunately I did not have to drive today and I caught a few Z's on the way in.  I see where the dining car was already to "Points East" with a bunch of bran muffins.  I will catch up on everybody's posts, maybe tonight.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana (at least I spelled it right today :-) )

REBS report: going to New England Rascal's hosue, pick him up and go to breakfast.  Ploy to get him to take me to all the great train holdings in this area [Boston and NH]. Wink [;)]  Already stashed GRITS in his favorite train shop.  Have arranged roller bag to fit items and sneak them over the boarder.

Good morning.  Sunny day here.  Got things to do.  Roy, glad you did not have to swim.  Big change in rain levels from when I was last there and you had been in drought.  Guess you have NOT had to water your house this year [that confuse some of the Yanks].  All have a great day.

BTW: all you Foloridians, no fun going South and stealing trains.  More fun keeping the Yanks on their toes.  Takes tens of Yanks to try and keep their eyes on one REB. Laugh [(-D]

A quick good morning before I'm off to court for jury duty today - a beautiful day in Crystal Lake, sunny and cool - the rain last eve broke the heat for the time being. Hope to stop in the hobby store in Woodstock if we get a break - he has a magnificent Lionel display layout. It's in the square featured in the old Groundhog Day movie...

Cloudy and humid this a.m. Looks like rain! We're sure hoping!

Son heads to Hawaii tomorrow with girlfriend's family for a week. Lucky dog! I admire him for saving his money to go.

The kids got me the Indiana Jones trilogy on DVD for Father's Day. Watched Raiders of the Lost Ark last night. I've lost count of how many times I've seen it, but I love it! Tonight, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. (Ummmm, chilled monkey brains! Dead [xx(] ).

And a good day to all! Smile [:)]

HI GIZ,

Started laz CAMP today at 0530 was cooler then,  got 5miler in and weight, now take the dogs for a walk.

Bathroom stuff came in so got to go to Home Depot to pick up new shower, toilet, vanity, and tile.  Start in a few weeks when my plumber gets here to do the pipes.  Want someone who does it for a living soldering pipes, I'll do the rest.

Stay cool to get to 94 today.

laz57 - If I can solder copper pipes together, you can do it too.  Just be as precise on your measurements as possible.  Copper tubing and tubular track are kinda alike, very forgiving.  You know...that bathroom project will probably cut into your train time...Disapprove [V]

Received a report about a suspcious character in a "frumpy" disguise, hanging around small buildings in the North East.  It was also indicated that a trail of credit card slips are being analyized for identity verification.  If seen this person should be approached with extreme caution, allegations exist of a propensity and history of chemical warfare tactics.

Thought I better pass it on....
