Morning all 0800GMT in another sunny, warm Stockport. Weather totty says we are in for four days of heavy storms, so I expect it might drizzle a bit.

Nick, Glad Fido's better, hows the little woman too? I crave a boon, is there a chance of e-mailing a copy of the pic. you posted with the young geezer and the TOG please. SWMBO has demanded evidence of my attendance at Ilkley, she thinks it more likely that I went on a bender with a load of lap dancers.

On trains I am now a member of the UK Chapter of the Milwaukee Road Historical Association. My first N Gauge loco was a MLW GP38 and I was hooked. Well, that's not strictly true, for my 10th Birthday I got a copy of the 1948 Modern World Book of Railways with a painting of a 2-8-8-4 starting a 150 car train-it was then I was hooked!

Good morning from New England!

I built a large wall shelf unit this weekend for our rolling stock. Ran trains quite a bit. Lost an auction. Tore up carpet. Hurt my back and knee.

The sopranos...hated it! What a disappointment!

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a sunny 55 degrees. Going up to 85 today, with sunshine all day. It looks like this will be a sunny week.

Today, I have some chores to do and then I have to run a few errands and visit some local stores. It was a quiet weekend. Had a lot of time to relax. Didn't get any train time in. I will start the painting process for the bridge, later in the week. Need to figure out how to paint the insides of the supports. May use a brush. I'm open for ideas.

Dining Car is rolling in. Looks well stocked. Time for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Monday.

Good morning all,

It is another beautiful sunny day in SE Indiana with temps in the 80s.  Laz, you have turtles?!?!  What kind and how many?  I would love to have one, but the wife is absolutely opposed to cold-bloods in the house (except for our beta fish, which is about as low maintenance as you can get).  Welcome back, Chief!  This is another long day for me as I have class tonight from 6 to 8 and I get in about 9 PM.  At least the Friday off makes it worthwhile.  Bran muffins were on the dining car this morning as it headed to "Points East".  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Mornin' boys.  Sunny & 80's here in the Mid-Atlantic region today.

BLUEBERRY HILL - I think I told you before it took me 3 cans of spraypaint to cover one of those 100 Year bridges.  I started by giving an all over light covering.  Then I turned it upside down, coated the bottom, and angled down along each truss and top girders.  Then I did each side from inside (you can get your spray can about 1/3 the way in) following each girder.  Then the last coat is the finish coat, trying to put down a nice even spray, saving some paint for the floor of the bridge to cover up the "shadowing".

Morning.  Cloudy.  Maybe some rain?????   Hope so.  Garden has exploded since I left.  Got ripe tomatoes [grown in greenhouse earlier than regular plants].  Neighbor's garden [the one I plowed up and disked in hard clay type soil] has jumped too.  Got that rain and then warm nights.  Frankie and I are off to Mother's down east.  That means SOUTHERN fried chicken, Eastern NC Bar-be-que and etc. Dinner [dinner]  Hope to finish the smoke unit job on the Atlas dummy this PM or tomorrow.  Got to go.  All have a great day.  [Why would any sensible group of people name a street Buckeye? Hi GIZ,

60 and great here today to get to 82.

laz CAMP started today at 0603 hours took dog for walk 1mile, ate banana then ran 6.0 miles had coffee and Cherrios, now going to throw weights around for about 30-40 minutes.

CHEAPCLASSICS, yes I have 3 turtles, 2red eared sliders and a yellow eared.  1 female and two males. The female dropped to eggs this year and I have em burried in wet sand.   They are to open about Aug. I hope?  Last year she dropped 4 and not one opened.  Maybe this year.  They are about 13 years old and are quite large, a little dirty so I have to clean out the tank about every 2weeks.  We have two filters in but still lots of clean up, if you get just one should be pretty easy, not much mess with one.

All have a good one.

Nick, glad Boco is doing better.  We have had dog issues in the recent past and it is hard to see them ill.  Just something about a dog, when you get home, you are the Hero walking through the door.

John B., Showed my bride the posting about your needing evidence of the train show visit.  We are both laughing.....British Humor!  Thanks.

Chief, glad you are back.  I know you were watching, so I don't have to fill you in on the attacks from the other side of the MD line.

Brent, I would go to the wedding and be there for the wife.  Only one example of what we are to aspire to and we all fall short of Him.  The best thing to do is lead by example and not judge.  She could have done something very bad and no one would Know.

I tell ya, don't stop by for  a cup of joe and you can really get behind.  Took me quite some time to catch up on all th posts.  Glad good things happened for Zeke.  Colin, good luck with the exams and the sinus infection.  If the antibiotics don't turn the corner for you in a few days, contact your doc as you may need to get some steroids in as well.  The infections seem to get worse and need to hit them with heavy medicine.

Hope everyone has a blessed day.  Only one small case later on and then I can get home to get the lawn mowed.

God Bless,

Dennis

PS: Laz, I think I will have to do a version of Laz Camp to get back in shape for Elk Hunting in September.  I go to the gym regularly, but need to get back to running again.  Have a pair of Nike Air 95s on order as my old pair fell apart.  They do seem to be the best running shoes I have ever had though.

Good morning! Hot and dry today - Temp to get to 100 as it did yesterday, then the hot spell is supposed to break and we'll be in the low 90's with slight chances of rain the rest of the week.

Busy Monday - staff meeting in an hour, article for newsletter, visit hospitals, study time then visit some prospects this evening. Being busy sure beats the alternative! Big Smile [:D] Have a new laptop in my office - really nice! But the IT guys forgot to put my e-mail address book back on it.Sad [:(]  Found out the hard way yesterday. They are supposed to take care of that today. Chief - glad I did not plant a garden this year, it would have shriveled up by now. By the way, saw our new BPS yesterday when we ate lunch at Jim & Nick's BBQ. Looks finished on the outside. I like the big American flag flying from the roof - you can see it a good ways away.

Everybody have a blessed day! Smile [:)]

MORNING ALL:  These post about lifting weights and long walks, groan, think I'll go back to bed till some sane people show up on here. I usually cut grass on Mon. but without rain I don't need to, 80's all week and no rain before Fri.,maybe. Normally dry spells don't come until July. I did a lot of walking yesterday so I can goof off without feeling guilty. Everyone have a great day. Mi. Jim

Good morning from a sunny and mild Chicago where I am back to work after a week in South Carolina. I learned two new things this year - it is hot there and people move a bit slower than up here. We had a great time with good weather at the beach - apart from Tropical Storm Barry last weekend. I read a whole bunch of books. And the drive with a van full of people was enjoyable. I always enjoy going through the Smokies.  Now the bride wants to move to North Carolina. . . .

Good morning everyone,

I am finally finished my exams!!! Now, I can rest for a little. I have off tomorrow and Wednesday, and I go in Thursday until 11AM.

Well, I too, was dissapointed at the ending of the Soprano's last night. Did anyone else think that maybe Tony did get killed? When he and Paulie were on the boat, earlier in the season, Tony said "It must not be bad to get whacked. I mean, you see it, it happens, then its black." I was thinking of that when Tony looked up and then it goes black. Just a thought.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Have the week off so FIL and I are making a start on the garage and future home for layout. We cleared the slab of junk today. We have to remove the concrete blocks from around the edge so the builder can replace them with engineering bricks and new damp course.

Here's some pics

Slab is 15 Meters by 5 Meters.

Boco was out and about seeing what we were up toWink [;)]

John B, Will try and send you the pic to prove your attendanceBig Smile [:D]. My better half reckons Ilkley was a excuse to go on a weekend bender to! However as she was away on Holiday soaking up the rays and taking it easy by the swimup bar.......I have decided not to commentWhistling [:-^]

Have a good one

CHIEF - a convert! Get the GRITS ready!

Humid and pretty warm here. I see Dr. John has some N. Texas weather this year and we have the Alabama weather here?

Colin - glad exams are over for you now. Now you can enjoy your summer.

Been herding our daughter around to get job applications at several local restaurants as a hostess. We'll see. Her enthusiasm for this is not high but we will prevail!

Nick - that pad looks like it will support a very nice train room!

Dennis,
Thanks for the advice - was kinda hoping one of the clergy on the board would responde to that post! Smile [:)]  I was planning on going, I could just list about 21 other reasons (see post about new house projects) that I would rather be doing.  I am friends with the groom, so that gives me another reason to attend (moral support for him - wish he would dump her because she is just dead weight dragging him down).

Colin - congrats on finals being over!  I remember those days - no fun!

John B, Nick - LOL @ trainshow = reason for a bender!  OMG!  (note to self - do not show those posts to the wife) Smile [:)]

Nick - Looks like a nice size garage.  I have plans for a 23 foot by 36 foot garage at the new house.  We need the extra garage space (wife has two cars, I have one, and I want a full-size truck).  Maybe next year...

WOW - 3 days till the big move!

Fife - almost got some good shots of the Maryland Midland, but forgot to put a card into the camera!!! Banged Head [banghead] Sometimes I just have to laugh at myself!  One was an awesome shot of the engines coming around the bend by the old silos in New Windsor.

Mitch - Your RR research sounds really interesting...

Brent, over the next two days, they have BMW featured on the History Channel's "Voyager" program.  Also, tonight at 6est, on RFD, they have Trains and Locomotives on the Lackawanna.

It is a good day for us at home, but is not for others.  Had a very young person die of a heart attack, with his daughter alone to hear the news.  I can't caution folks enough, if you have pain, get it checked right away.  Time is heart muscle.

Well, it is close to 100 and I have some grass to cut.  Time to fire up the tractor.  Hope everyone has a good night.

Dennis

Evening guys,

Things look to be quieting down for the Summer.  Not much happening here.  Grandsons coming tomorrow to help with the bark much for the beds.  Then a day of rest at the TCA museum, I will need it.  Tonight is our monthly meeting of the high school classs of '57.  Yes that was 50 years ago.

Posted a separate thread about some 1/48 Model T kits that came to my attention.  Look to be very nice.

Take care,

Afternoon All !

Well it has already started, the better half brought home a "G" gauge set so guess who has been out in the yard starting ANOTHER layout. Blush [:I] Went and got some additional track, WOW, talk about expensive. I should have started an "O" outdoor layout long ago at the price differences.

Went by "Tuesday Morning" yesterday, picked up some Corgi, 1:50th scale, History Channel Legends M-48 tanks. They are Vietnam era but they still look SWEET on the flatcars, bought all four that they had for $10 each. Another project to do. Dead [xx(] After this one is done I'll pick up the APC's from the same era.

Zeke - RT is right, RFDTV is a channel on satellite (I used to get it on Dish).

Nick, that looks like a nice foundation to start from Thumbs Up [tup]

Dennis, was sorry to read earlier about the guy who had the heart attack - hope you got the lawn done.

Roy - good luck with your daughter, mine has a few years to go yet but I already dread those days to come.

Brent - 3-2-1 will be here fast!

Chuck, be sure to let us know when you get the bridge painted!  Blue sounds terrific!

Doug - sounds like a cool flatcar load.  I saw someone had a barracks kit (plasticville?) on ebay the other day.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
