Mornin' boys. Clearing the cobwebs out after the party we hosted last night. And, no, nobody wore a lampshade. Speaking of lampshades...
RT - No posies on train room lampshades....MAN LAW.
CHIEF - No keeping the chickens out, when I'm surrounded by so many hens. Have a safe trip home, sir.
dbaker48 - $$$ is on you. Don't let me down.
ZEKE - great story.
wrmcclellan - our princess has been so nasty lately she hasn't even asked to drive...
Bakeer - the old guy smiley...
Blueberry - have to go with the 12 car today. That team has found something out...
88 - only cats I can be around are Chessie cats...
mitchelr - any more ideas how to tie in local railroading at your new digs?
and
Buckeye - Good morning to you, Sir.

We have been Busy getting ready for the Museum Open House in two weeks. As most of you know, we built a baseball field for it and now we are working on something very special. John, CSXT 30, you are going to love this one. And it will be ONE of a KIND!.

rt - forgot to mention... I like that B&O passenger train! WOW! You may want to look into those clamp-on spot lights... Fife can post a pic of what they look like. You plug them into a wall outlet and use the clamp to secure them to objects... then focus the light on your area.fife - LOL! I'm glad your son helped you with the expansion... maybe this will turn him back toward trains for a bit?Chief - safe trip home
Sturgeon - Like the hot dog cart at the ball field... nice touch!Got to go to Lowes to buy a new screen for the slider... old one is shot... corners are dry rotted and it just fell apart when I took it off the door...

I like the Hot Dog vender you show in your photo. Its a nice touch to the ballfield. Colin- Very glad that nothing serious is wrong with your health. Good to see you posting again. Take Care.
Keith - that's a hint of what is to come!
Boy, is the pressure ON! Pitted against the Chief ???? I don't know if I can handle the pressure.... even with our extended days (3 hours longer). I will definetly try. Would stay and talk but got to much work to do. Oh as far as the $$$ goes, if I had the Chiefs money, I could throw mine away, and it wouldn't be much. It was all spent on trains last year. The biggest advantage that I can see I have is not having to have to work with a NS system. After all we have out here is dry rivers and rocks. Don't need to worry about trees, watersheds, and stuff like that.
Back to work.

GREG,
We use the three blade planers here at school, POWERMATIC, but GRIZZLY has some very good planers. We have a 22 inch and 24 inch planers and both are real bears and very expensive 10Gs plus. The Grizzlies are good for what you want at about 2-3Gs, Hope this helps at remember measure twice and cut once. Kinda corny but I say that to the kidos all the time, I think they think I'm nuts.

Tom : Nice hot dog stand !! Looks like we're in direct competition selling hot dogs !! My guy hasn't sold any in a while though !! I'll be heading up to the museum soon !!
Look what I picked up at a local flea market !! They offered these in 2001 & I was the first to take it out of the sealed wrapper in the box it came in. Appears to be 1/48 th. or 1/43rd. too !!
Thanks, John
Morning all!
Off to church and then to meet some friends for lunch at a new diner in my old neighorhood.
Spanky and John - keep the dogs rollin'. It's baseball and summertime. The Texas Rangers here are making sure no one kicks them out of the cellar this season.
Sounds like the sawdust is flying at Don's place!
Have a great day all!

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
Today, I have a few things to do around the house and I will take it easy the rest of the day. Still have to get the paint for my bridge and start the cleaning. Hope to get it done by the end of this month.

Mornin' All.
Chuck, Kinda had a crazy idea last night. Wonder how your bridge would look if it were done in a Powdercoat instead of paint. I always see the rods & customs done with powdercoat on the frames/running gear.
Haven't been to the museum for awhile, still to sore to pack up the trains and schlepp them back and forth. Sure wish we had the room for storage that the 2 rail groups have, most of their rolling stock and loco's are in secure yards within their layouts.
Time to go refill the mug, plus I forgot my other topics for response.

Remember to read and understand the instructions that came with your power tools. And, always wear these - safety glasses!
No plans for today, just hanging out with the kids. Played some basketball with my kids yesterday and my hand is sore, but still 99 percent better. Maybe able to work on John's patio again in a couple weeks. I think I'm getting one of those folding ladders for father's day that can make scaffolding and stuff. This will be very useful when working on the basement stairs - need to install a light at the top of the stairs, which the builder overlooked. I'll open up my 4-4-2 later. Need to work on new and improved layout plan as well. Also play with kiddos.
Dining car got here late and only had poptarts? You guys musta been hungry.
RT- nice train! Sorry, I too forget everything, but I like the hot dog vendors and stuff!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

keep em on the tracks......
My money is definitely on Don.
If the Chief puts two or three empty beer cans on his layout does that mean he has started his scenery using a Southern motif? Jim will be back on the forum tomorrow and he and Frank53 are two experts at scenery, so maybe they will be able to determine when the Chief has commenced with the his artistic endeavour.
More training tomorrow. BORING!!!!
The fridge in the garage died this winter. (We saved all the beer.) I need to put it out for the trash guys on Tuesday morning. Maybe the trash pickers will grab it first. They usually grab the propane grills before you are back in the house after putting it at the curb.
Has anyone watched the movie, The Prestige. http://video.movies.go.com/theprestige/ It has a great clip of the Durango and Silverton plus it is a very interesting movie, especially for our electrically inclined members, who are appropriately tagged in the movie as Wizards.
I wonder if the Chief caught anything at that flop house in Arizona?

fifedog wrote:mitchelr - any more ideas how to tie in local railroading at your new digs?
Fifedog - been trying to find more information on the Bachman Valley Railroad. Met a man last night at the retirement party who had a brother that worked on removing up some of the track from the BVRR. He said that it had to have been over 50 years ago. He did not have much detail and his brother has passed away. Have to hit the local historical society and get some more history. I will try to share stories of the area's history with the students as we begin the process of selecting school mascot and colors.
Went to Harrisburg Senators game today with my son. They were winning 11 to 1 when we left after 6 or 7 innings. Got turned around leaving City Island and had to take the turnpike back to Gettysburg Pike. Still not sure how I managed that. After we got home the NASCAR race came on and watched Jeff Gordon sneak away with a victory. Makes up for the one he had won up at Pocono a few years ago but lost when he missed a shift on the restart with a few laps to go.
Take care,
Mitch

Good evening all,
It was another beautiful day in SE Indiana with temps in the 80s. It has been an interesting weekend that turned out ok. I was trimming the trees outside on Saturday, and wound up meeting the new neighbor on the corner. I noticed he had a screen door laying outside the house and asked what he was planning to do with it. He asked me if I could use it (which I could ) and he gave it to me. I have been wanting to replace an old door on the lean-to so some light could get it, and this worked perfectly. I installed it that day and it looks nice. We went up to a relative's birthday party on the wife's side of the family today. I stayed up Saturday night to watch the IRL race. It was a wild event and Danica almost won. Sarah Fisher hung on for a 10th place finish. I watched the Canadian F1 race today and it was a wild one too. Hopefully Scott Speed will have a better day in the USGP next week. Lewis Hamilton got his first win. Bagels and bacon were on the dining car this morning, but bran muffins will be shipping out to "Points East" tomorrow. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Well, we watched Pirates 2 Dead Man's Chest on dvd, then got the idea to try and see part 3. We tore across town and got there just in time for the movie, but they were sold out! Oh well, went to Noodles for dinner and then came home and watched Johnny Kapahala (sp?) on tivo. Pretty good disney movie. We all put together the plasticville coal tower - had to use paper tape on the inside to hold it together. I guess I'll end up gluing it in the future, but I want to detail it some and maybe add some stuff first. Printed out the diagrams on my locomotive, but never opened it yet. Hope everyone has a pleasant evening and night - we got rain again all through the day so it's really cool here now.
HI GIZ,
Watched the last SOPRANOs and what a let down for the finale. I say a big BOO HISS for HBO.
Oh well cleaned out turtle tank today and wife clipped all dead tulip growth, then took a truck load of clippings to compost area.

All have a good one.
