Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is another beautiful day in S.E. Ohio. 60 degrees. Going up to 85, today with sunshine.

Today, I will make the weekly trip to Cambridge for groceries. And, I will buy the paint for the steel bridge. Still want to go with a dark blue color. I wonder how Metalflake, metallic, candy apple blue would look. Hmmm.....That sound like a car color. 50's style. Anyway, then the painting process will start. I need some train time. Maybe later.

Here comes the Dining car. It is time for breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Wednesday.

Chuck

Keep on training,

Good morning everyone,

Tomorrow is my last day, and I am really happy.

Mike C, congrats. Did you watch the F1 race Sunday? How about that wreck!

Chief we had plenty of rain here yesterday, even some hail. If I could, I would give it to you guys.

Chuck that seems like a nice color. I also like Candy Apple Red.

Fife congrats too.

Well, it seems that a Soprano's movie is unlikely. What a suprise there. I am going to powerwash the side of the house today, so I guess I'll be productive today. Also, I have to pack for Florida today. Leaving Saturday.

Good morning from a sunny and mild Chicago where I took the 'water taxi' down the river from the train station to a new stop again today. It sure is fun - but then I'm easily amused. Today my youngest turns 5 - maybe I'll take him to the Railroad Museum in Union tomorrow. Beats working. There's some very good pork BBQ places on the south side of Chicago. . .

Congratulations, Mike, on Abram's arrival. Nice name.

Morning, all! Pleasant this a.m. - cool and breezy, but we'll be back in the 90's this afternoon. We missed a good chance for rain yesterday. Lots of clouds, thunder and lightning, but not a drop locally. Montgomery got some rain and hail too.

Oldest daughter flew in last night from a trip to Florida. Plane was delayed in Atlanta due to weather there. When she arrived, found out that NO ONE'S luggage was on the plane! They put all of the flight's luggage on the wrong plane in Atlanta! Banged Head [banghead] They're supposed to get it in sometime today and deliver it to the house. Ah, the joys of air travel. Whistling [:-^]

Gas prices are down here (a little) also. Bought regular for $2.89 yesterday. Saw a station with $2.84 gas.

We head to Birmigham tonight after church for wife's heart procedure in the morning at UAB. Good Lord willing, we may come home tomorrow afternoon or Friday a.m. at the latest. She's in good spirits and looking forward to getting this done.

Dennis - very sorry to hear of the passing of your friend.

Fellow REBS - Butter for my grits, sugar for my tea!

Jim F. - My wife also likes boiled peanuts. I love the roasted ones but can't stand the boiled ones.

John B. - Agreed, it is nigh impossible to make decent tea with cold water. We use hot water to make the tea, then add ice! Big Smile [:D]

Mitch - We've also had a rash of copper thefts locally, both in schools and some churches. Sad [:(]

Mike C. - Congrats on the new grandson! Thumbs Up [tup]

Laz - Glad to hear your bride had a nice birthday!

Chief - When you get down to Prattville I'll have to take you to one of the local BBQ joints. We've got some really good places here! Dinner [dinner] Maybe we can twist Dennis' arm and any of the other Georgia boys to come over and meet us.

Have a good day, all!

Laz, thanks.

Mike, Congratulations.

Hope everyone has a great day.  If all goes well, I plan to make Wed. Church.

Had a county commission meeting last night.  I am trying to get a stop sign on the road as folks do 90 in a 35.  May have to drop a few speed bumps one late nightWhistling [:-^]

After I had said my piece, they had a discussion about a FD/ems merger.  I had to chime in, at first they were not going to let me, but I had my way.  Shame when folks won't open discussion when they don't know the background of people in the audience.  Turns out, I have lots of experience in exactly what they were trying to get answers for.  We shall see.

Anyway, hope to catch y'all eating grits later.

Dennis

Gas is easily found at under $3.00 here as well. $2.84 or sometimes better.

Maryland... my family is from South East PA.  Most people don't realize there are some Amish decendants around that are no longer in the Faith, so I like to bring it up from time to time, usually when someone makes a comment about them that isn't 100% accurate! Wink [;)]  No offense taken.  Most of the time it is due to lack of knowledge, so I like to educate those on the Amish where they just don't understand.  I find it respectable that they refuse to modernize.  It is hard to find in this day and age, and I feel they will eventually be forced to modernize due to the lack of support from Local, State, and Federal Authorities.  Try to find a building built by modern standards that can stand up to those built by the Amish... Wellll, that's that!  Dale,Jr has just signed a 5 year contract with Hendrick Motorsports.  No decision yet on the number (5,8,25) or sponsors (Bud,Kelloggs).  At first it kinda turned my stomach, but watching the press conference, and seeing the relationship that Dale and Rick have, it kinda made sense.

csxt30 - by posting that 5 Kelloggs rig, did you have a little insider info...?

Congratulations to the new Granddad.  Have a couple more months to go myself.

Dr. John,  Add me to the list of people looking forward to hearing good news regarding the outcome of the tests.  Please let us know right away.

Gas has been as low as $2.79 around here for a couple days.  Probably go back up tomorrow, after all it will be Thursday.

Going to get a couple estimates on replacing the deck.  Wonder if I really want to know.

I saw where a Buddist temple hired a bunch of Amish to dissasemble and put back together thier temple at another location because no company had the skill or understanding of the construction methods used in the buildingThumbs Up [tup]Bow [bow]

I have a relitive that got his training/colladge education as a draftsman but took up forgeing and founding in Iron I think he had a side job working with an Amish or Minanite black smith as a Hobby Him and his wife wear home made clothes that are very plain but if you did not know them you would not pickup on thier lifestyle/beliefs.

Dr. John - best of luck to you and your wife... you will be in our prayers...

Mike C. - Congrats on the little one!

Laz - Glad your wife survived the crabs! Smile [:)]

Just about the end of my day... 8 hours tomorrow then it is off to pick up the moving truck for the big move!  This has taken about as long as the Big Dig in Boston!  Or at least it seems that way!

Just got off the phone with my wife.  Her father has been diagnosed with early stages of Prostate Cancer.  This is his third battle with the big 'C', after two earlier battles with Melanoma.  It is early on, and Prostate Cancer is one that respondes well to treatment - wife knows a ton about this as Prostate Cancer was the one she worked on the most when she was a bench chemist working on her cancer research... she is a smart cookie... just can't catch a break though... last year it was her mother and Pancreatic Cancer (she passed away in October), and Susan hasn't quite recovered from the loss of her mother - honestly none of us have.

Afternoon all!

Spent most of the morning on the phone with Dell about Vista problems. Some real big bugs in the wireless network portion of that program. Do not have these problems in our 3 winXP PCs.

So far - the way to resolve most VISTA issues is to reboot until it works like it is supposed to. VISTA just gets lost a lot. By far the worst thing MS has released in recent years.

Raining here again. I have lived in Dallas for nearly 30 years and I have never seen a mid-day rain shower in the June-September (the dry season as I call it) time frame until this year. The most we normally get are late afternoon T-Storms.

Thoughts and prayers for all those ailing and good luck on those having procedures (Dr. John's wife).

Have a great day all!

Regards, Roy

Hi all,

Moved the DeLorean for the first time in two years today. Checked all the vital fluids connected up the battery and she started first timeCool [8D]. Moved her of the foundation pad. Reminded me how much I miss driving the beast...oh well she will soon have a nice dry garage. I can work on the car at my leisure then.

Dug back the soil from the foundation at the garden end today. Pulled out a couple of stumps using the vanSmile [:)].

Its been really sunny and hot here today. So much so that we fired up the BBQ Chef [C=:-)]for the first cook of the year. It then promptly rained, typicalGrumpy [|(].

Have a good day
