Life's hard, even harder if your stupid John Wayne

Good morning all,
IIABSDISEI with temps and humidity in the 90s. It was a bit foggy this morning, but the interstate was ok. My day got off to a good start with an e-mail from my Norwegian soccer friend, and that always brings a smile to my face. I also heard that AJ took a tumble in his bulldozer, but that he is ok and will be at the race in Michigan this weekend. You would think he would slow down a little a some point.
I swept out the PT Cruiser and cleaned the interior last night. It was a lot dirtier than I thought it was. It must have been collecting dust as we drive by the Honda construction everyday. The road work is moving at a furious pace there as something is different every time I go past it.
Just the usual fare for breakfast this morning. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C.

Hmmmm, maybe Tony Stewart................
Darn, another week of cheese without some whine.
Funny you should say that, Doug. The paint I used was left over from the Tony Stewart model race car I recently painted for a co-worker (Testor's Go Mango). The box car looks great already.
Even thought the real New Haven box cars had a white and black logo, I'm going to make my graphics all black, like the Lionel 6464-725s. I think it looks better. Besides, for some reason, the real NH scheme always reminds me of a Wheaties box for some reason...

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a foggy 66 degrees. Sun is coming up and burning it off. Going up to 90, today, with mostly sunshine.
Today, I have a few things to do around the house. Later, I have an errand to run. Wife is driving to Marietta this afternoon, by herself. She wants to try a solo run. First time since surgery. Foot is healing good.
It looks like the Bridge collapse is going to take a long time to clean up. Many people are buried under the concrete. Real shame.
Dining car has arrived and is ready for breakfast. Later.
Y'all have a great Friday.
Chuck
Hello all,
Gonna be a hot one here today. Close to 100. 90's tomorrow and low 80's on Sunday.
Chief, keep your eyes peeled for B&M, NH, and State of Maine boxcars at the train meet for me. Post war only please! We'll talk!
Morning to all. I see Jim/Sturgeon-Phish is up early and made the first pot of coffee this AM. Thanks Jim.
Think I will stop by my local hobby shop and get the new Lionel catalog this evening. The new Flying Yankee sounds tempting, but it would severely damage my train budget. I have been searching for a decent pre-War Flying Yankee for some time. Can't find one that I am willing to part with my $$$ to buy. Been saving $$$ for York. Will have to see what's left after York though. Also been thinking about an iPhone. My son bought one and it is one sweet piece. Although I am not really on the road often enough to justify the expense.
Take care,
Mitch

Southern border safe.
Dennis-Hope the toe gets better. Looks like a safety shoe posting in the hospital is in order
John-Don't you love the night shift! I got word that due to some other supervisors taking another position, I am going back to shift work. There is some good and some bad with that. Shift makes attending the deconate classes very difficult. Luckliy I get six weeks of vacation a year.
I won six all aboard panels on ebay at a great price. Won them while in the Smokies and the guy shipped before I sent him his money! Makes you feel good there is trusting folks out there.
Got to go
May God bless your needs

John's on the night shift now, going for the overtime !! Thought you'd noticed by now that me & Chewey been cleaning out the cupboards while you all are asleep !! Ha !! Chewey seems to be putting on some weight so I may have to cut him back a little, more for me then !! I didn't give him too much spaghetti tonight cause I was afraid I'd have to give him a bath too !He wasn't real happy with that !! Yeah, you could say we get along pretty good now !!
Thanks, John
Well, home and finally fed. Took my shoes off and I have a bit of swelling and the toe is now black and blue all the way around it. Just relaxing before hitting the pillow. Got plans for heading to Montgomery to catch up with Chief and Dr. John. Hope things work out. MIL's AC has been out for some time and with 100F temps in the house, I think it will be time to get the hotel.
Funny thing when I came home. The kids were asleep on a Futon in the master bedroom. At the foot, on the bed was the dog! All three of the kids, two human, one hairy dog all asleep on the bed. After he was kicked off the bed, he came to sit with me while I get my email, etc. done. Watching the Military Channel, on battle of the Bulge. Sure were a bunch of brave GIs back then. We got pleny of brave soldiers today as well.
Read where the terrorist who tried to destroy the airport in Glasgow and got severely burned died today. While one part of me would have rather had him live a long time and suffer from his wounds, I suppose it is better for him to see how wrong he was about where he would end up.

Really tired. Hope to get early start tomorrow AM. Going into high 90's and then 99 Sat. and Sun. Train meet Sat. Got to get on phone and re-do flight reservations. Flying to Miami 15th and then to Montgomery AL from there. Depends on flights if I stay overnight the 15th or fly out. Not going in Sept as earlier planned. Someone else is going to be there so he will do Grand Opening. 15th of Aug, I'm training staff at the Hampton Inn at the airport. If I stay overnight on the 15th, maybe hookup with some of the lower FL gang. They are now talking about me doing Reno NV but no date. still talking about me doing Post Falls ID but no date. They better get them in before Dec 1. Too busy after that. Bed time [popcorn was good].

Thanks Jim!!!!
Sir James - I know blew up the pic until it measured 9.5 inches on the screen so I got a good idea of the size. I looked and didn't find any of the online stores carrying it and my local shops are all MSRP anyway, so went ahead and paid Lionel. I'm hoping they see this as a vote for more stuff like this!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Ok, here is the pics from my wonderful trip to Folkston Georgia:
Click on the image to make it larger.

Jim, I don't recall Southern or NS using Orange and Black in the paint scheme.
Had to do another emergency. I am tired. Doug, wish I could hang out in a lawn chair, but my bride can't support my train habbits on her salary and cover the mortgage.

OMG, Fifey, I don't even want to know where you're going with that...
Expensive day today with the car. got a new battery, brakes, and a wheel bearing. But after I got the car back, I headed to the train store for the new catalogs. I was a good boy and kept my head down as not to look at any tempting items, (like trains or the counter girls 2 best attributes).
Not much else going on. The wife is home tonight. Better go make the kids some Benadril milk shakes!
Afternoon yall, just got back from my vacation at Florida and Folkston. Will post pics of the trains later. Sorry Chief, I was hoping a NS loco would be in one of them, but there wasnt, all CSX. The one who had UP loco in it, was the only one who didnt get its picture taken..... !!!
