I haven't touched that tender since that first night, Brent. But I did buy new brushes and springs, so one day soon, it will get fixed. I think I have 3 or 4 pw tenders that need a tune up, and 2 locomotives. The locos are a 2018 and a 736.
I think your tender will look good painted pink behind my daughter's 2037 pink girl's loco! I'm glad I didn't pass this one up as well. And one day I'll have a nice set of post war 2343s. Got nuthin but time. Until then I'll run my Williams 2343 set. They look and run like brand new and will pull a Buick!

Doug - yes we are kindred spirits in this journey.
Tornado watches and large hail risks here this afternoon. The funny part is it is hard to tell those things from when my daughter and son are in the house. Maybe they are the cause of the extreme "low" pressure in this area. Their near fission energy levels are affecting the weather her?
The drama levels are so high my wife and I have to take turns to avoid laughing in front of them when this stuff elevates. How can you be stern when you are lol on the inside. I can really admire my dad who appeared to take all this with a completely straight face. I can only asssume he spent his days at work practicing in front of a mirror.
Regards, Roy
Dennis, regarding your Bible that needs repair, it can be done, but it's not cheap. There's a place in Greenwood, MS that rebinds and recovers Bibles. Do you have a LifeWay store near you? That's where I went to get mine rebound and they shipped it to Greenwood. In all honesty, I could have bought a new Bible for what it cost to get it repaired.
Roy, while Baptists generally don't do exorcisms, I am not above using a hammer on possessed cell phones.
Got our back yard cut and went over and cut dad's yard today. Storms are supposed to come through tomorrow, so wanted to get the yard work done. Sunny and mild right now.
Hey Chiefie,
I want to see some photos of those painted mountains in your layout room in the Photo Fun thread this Sunday. Never saw no brown mountains before...

While I have never taken hammer to cell phone, I have been known to drop a pager in a glass of water
Dr. John, I may try to take a little glue to the binding myself. I will check with the local library. It is mainly the mid east maps in the back, all the way past Revelation and the concordance are OK. It is just anoying that I have to watch that the maps don't fall out every time I open it. Of course, if one tends to read it daily, it is going to get worn anyway.
Well, back from dinner. I even told the wife to go to the mall and buy some clothes.....while I brought the box of trains in from the front door. I am waiting on the payment instructions on that Hudson. Can hardly wait for it. I think that will complete the engines that I needed for the passenger cars that I had been given. The engine is another PS1, but like the NYC hudson, I will have to convert it to TMCC.
Hope everyone is doing well tonight.

Chief, that stragety would not work here as the UPS delivery can take place anytime between 4 and 8pm. I figure the shopping excuse was the best one. This way, if she returned early and sees the delivery, I can point to the bags in the car
Not much else happening on this end. They say it is supposed to be near 90 today, but that the bad weather should be here tonight. We shall see, they have been wrong before.

It's Saturday Morning!!!!
In honor of our buddy LAZ, we give you the ten best remarks by his caddy:
10 -- Golfer: "Think I'm going to drown myself in the lake."Caddy: "Think you can keep your head down that long?"
9 -- Golfer: "I'd move heaven and earth to break 100 on this course."Caddy: "Try heaven, you've already moved most of the earth."
8 -- Laz: "Do you think my game is improving?"Caddy: "Yes sir, you miss the ball much closer now."
7 -- Laz: "Do you think I can get there with a 5 iron?"Caddy: "Eventually."
6 -- Laz: "You've got to be the worst caddy in the world."Caddy: "I don't think so sir. That would be too much of a coincidence."
5 -- Laz: "Please stop checking your watch all the time. It's too much of a distraction."Caddy: "It's not a watch - it's a compass."
4 -- Laz: "How do you like my game?"Caddy: "Very good sir, but personally, I prefer golf."
3 -- Laz: "Do you think it's a sin to play on Sunday?"Caddy: "The way you play, sir, it's a sin on any day."
2 -- Laz: "This is the worst course I've ever played on."Caddy: "This isn't the golf course. We left that an hour ago."
1 -- Best Caddy Comment Laz: "That can't be my ball, it's too old."Caddy: "It's been a long time since we teed off, sir."
Laz, you just show up here in Buckeyeland and we will treat for golf.
Yes, it is January February March April 14th and it is forecasted to snow in Buckeyeland. We are not getting our normal weekend yard work completed and planting in the Garden RR has not begun this year.
I hope you read the post about how to wire the lock-on to the three rail tubular track. As a kid I used to wire my train all by myself. Two wires from the transformer to the lock-on. Pretty simple. I didn't ever burn down the house or destroy an engine. I think I did shock the dog, once. My mom put a stop to that real quick. My grade crossing flashers and semaphore worked, too. I guess now you need to take a clase in electronics to connect the transformer to the track. Ah, to be ten again. Life was simple.
I had a call from the LHS, they wanted to know if I ordered 8 HO Mobile Home Trailers. Not mine, but they might be the Chief's since he is trying to create a authentic Surthern City on his layout. (BTW, I heard that the Chief's new CTT Delivery truck is already up on blocks on his layout.) Speaking of the Chief, his layout is now going to depict the Norfolk and Southern running through the mountains of Southern California. I guess since it is Surthern, it doesn't matter. Chief, I would suggest you change your engines out to Southern Pacific and send me all your NS equipment. I will pay the shipping. Jim, can you paint repaint them for me? I will send you the blue and bright yellow paint.
The boys in the sharp corner of Ohio have had it bad. More snow on the way today.
Small train show at Bucyrus, Ohio tomorrow. Might try to attend. With the poor weather, some good deals may be found.
See ya down the tracks and have a good week,
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cool 32 degrees. Cloudy. Going up to 47 today, with a good chance of rain / snow / wind, and anything else, thrown in. Yuk.
Today, I will spend some time in the train room. I need to run trains. Have a few ideas for the town. Can't do much outside. Yesterday, was a nice day. Sunny. I need to do some train cleaning.
Buckeye... I enjoyed your golfer's post. Poor LAZ. Keep your eyes open for a Weinermobile at the train show.
Off to the Dining car. Breakfast.
Y'all have a great Saturday.
Chuck
Good Morning Everyone !!
Another great Saturday Morning Fun from Buckeye !! I just learned a lot about golf, too !!
Well the sun is shining here anyway, though snow is expected later on ! I hope this is the last one !! My Dad used to shut the furnace right off when it got to be March when I was a kid !
Hope everyone has a nice weekend !!
Thanks, John

Good Morning all!
Cool but clear today in Toronto. Looking forward to flogging a few cars at auction today.

Don't know what all the fuss about raising teenagers is about. Y'all don't have Duct Tape down there or what? Read Red Green's book on parenting!
The recent post on running more than one train at a time got me thinking. I hadn't tried one of TMCC's main benefits...controlling 2 trains on one loop. So I backed the E6 with it's string of heavyweights onto the same loop as the the 773's frieght consist and fired things up. It was like playing a video game trying to regulate the speeds but for the most part I always felt in control. That is until I decided that the second loop needed something running on it too. Fired up the Torpedo on loop 2 and off it went...right through a misaligned switch and smack dab into the back of a passenger train parked at the station. Once things got righted I had three trains running with only a minimum of concentration needed. Might try running 4 at a time after I get better at the button pushing shuffle. That'll also test the old ZW to it's limit.
Well, have a great Saturday everyone. Off to the auction.

Morning All
Been away for a while as been busy. I liked the medicine idea John of whiskey and rock candy. Brought back memories from my Grandma's cold tonic. It may not help much but you feel better. Eat lots of salsa, that will take care of the cold!
Teenage girls are a handful. Our oldest was especially trying as a teen, and at 27 she is still harvesting the "fruit" sown as a teen. As she has said several times, I wish I had listened to what you said (when I was a teen). I pray for teens and parents of teens. It seems the crap that gets thrown to kids just keeps increasing, make their descisions between what is right and wrong more challenging. It seems a teens mind is primarily concerned with today and this moment and consequences of one's actions don't matter. I'll hop off my soap box now.
We had company last night and ran trains for them. It was neat to watch them watch the trains, and felt good to see folks appreciate the trains and layout.
Cool and wet today. Spring is coming, isn't it? Flowers and stuff is pretty much on hold. Looking forward to getting the 734 operating car and 770 loading platform got off the bay. May need to "re-arrange" some things again. Now if I would take over the other spare bedroom, run a tunnel through the wall and put another layout in the other room! I'd get shot, if I did that.
Hope all is doing well

Good morning. I guess the Buckeye can not see too well. Did you not see the UP engines in the pictures??? I now know you do not take Trains magazine nor do you read your Trains newletter sent by email. UP and NS have an agreement on intermodal. UP pulls to the interchange and NS pulls to the east coast locations. That is one reason you see UP mixed with NS and NS on UP tracks. You really have to educate those Yanks.
Now as for wiring trains. Buckeye and I were the same [OH NO!!!!]. My Dad did not know a thing about wiring. My Uncle Bill showed me how on Christmas morning and I did it myself from then on [at 6 years old]. Also could see the diagrams in the Lionel Manual. Never had a problem.
Rain in the forecast. Still going to drop to the upper 30's during next week. I usaully have plants growing in the garden. Got squash and tomato plants running up and blooming and still in little pots. Warm day but chilly nights. Well, one consolation, the Yanks are getting snow out of this weather they are sending us Southerners.
Off to Miss Edna's and then on a hosta trip with wife.

Hope to play after this big snow we might get.

Good morning from New England!!!
Hey look at me posting on a Saturday! That can only mean one thing - I'm at the library (because I'm too cheap to buy a computer for home, right Chief). Wifey is working, so I'm taking the kids all over creation for the day. We've already stopped at the train store where I picked up the new catalogs and ordered a Trainsounds Polar Express tender. They had a great looking NYC diesel there for $80. I know it's a cheapie with one motor, but a brand new Lionel diesel for $80, less my usual discount? I'm going to ask for it for Father's Day. My kids looooove diesels. They want me to buy them an Amtrack set from Williams...
Hey Chief, those "mountains" look like dung piles to me. Or maybe Photoshopped ant hills. Is it true you have that new CTT delivery truck up on blocks already?
Buckeye, great post! Who writes your material?
My 2037 shell came out the bomb yesterday. So I'm going to take my other one and paint it pink for Julia. Need to pick up some lacquer thinner to strip it first.
Dougie, feel better, man! Nothing worse than food poisoning. Reminds me of Norman Rockwell's least known painting "Bad Clams". Not displayed much for obvious reasons.
Well, off to Chuckie Cheese. Where a kid can be a kid, and a dad can check out the yummie MILFs! Have a great weekend everyone. Even you, Chief!
Mornin All,
Today is shaping up to be another sunny, beautiful day in the mile high city. My Dallas Stars tied up the series with the Canucks with a 2-0 shut out. The series swings back to Dallas on a confident high. I may live in Denver...but I'm a true Dallas fan of just about everything. (don't follow the NBA).
Ran the trains a bit lastnight. I'm going to finish my other benches today so that my track expansion can continue until I determine how I want to design my scenery.
Watched the "Toy Trains" and "Steam Trains" episode on the History International Channel. This was talked about in previous threads...I set Tivo to record them and just getting around to watching this morning. I actually learned something from the show "Steam Trains". I'll admit that I didn't fully know what the numbers exactly meant when referring to a steam locomotive. I figured the numbers of 4-4-0 had something to do with the wheels...but wasnt' sure which end you started counting from. The show showed a graphic and demonstrated which end (the front) to start counting from. I now know. Does anyone know anything about the UP Cheyenne, Wyoming excursions? The show mentioned that UP maintains an active steam yard that is closed to the public...but they take the trains out various times of the year. If anyone has any info about this, please email me. Cheyenne is only 2 hours or so from Denver.
Well....I've gotta go to Lowes and get some 2x4's for the rest of my bench work.

Afternoon all!
Nice of Buckeye to recount his own caddy's remarks for LAZ.
Blustery day here today. High of 54. 45 this am. Had heavy rain and hail last night. No damage here but east of us a small tornado did some damage to some condos.
Quiet day today. Wife and daughter off shopping for daughter's choir Spring trip to S Padre Island.
Have a great day all!

Jim : that's 3 of us now !! Are you marking where the tunnels will go yet !!
Also I found a out how you can get a 1/64th. Weinermobile for your layout !! Perfect for S-gage ! Check the thread for it we have going & if you need help just holler !! They're only 3.95 !!
Too cold for patio work today and also there is a lot of water everywhere and falling as we speak. Better than snow, though. Did get some free food out of the deal. We rewired a couple light switches, since he bought dimmer switches for 3-ways in the foyer and hallway. Never saw a dimmer on a 3-way switch before. One switch remains a regular 3-way. The other one has a dimmer function, but only on one "Circuit", so you have to get it set right. The first one was wired in the wall weird - power to the light and then wires to the 2 switches from there. The 2nd one was "normal" with power to the first switch, then the 2nd, then the light. Going out to dinner with friends tonight. Keep losing out on ebay, but it's fun to think about the stuff I might have won.
Hey - wasn't someone putting out a 1/43 1960's tv batmobile? I can only find the 1/18 one on preorder now....
