This is a photo from the web site. Hope to see y'all there.

Bet the GUY with the bucket above his head is DA CHIEF, in his younger days.
Heard him say in HARRISBURG, " he could eat a bucket full as long as he had lots o butter on em".

TOM.
Colin, hope your Dad gets better.
Whoever??? good luck at the heart Dr. Can't remember all the posts and can not review them unless you open two windows.
Hope there are some trains in the future for tonight. Only had four hours sleep last night and got up so early to make the drive and leave before noon. BTW, I need to eat as I missed the lunch meal.

Anyway, I just wanted y'all to know this is a real thing. We actually have a Grits Festival.
In train related news, Tomorrow, on History International, they have a program called "Voyages" which will be from Trains Unlimited- Model trains. It is on a few different times so try to catch one.
The tractor has a broken strut, so I have one ordered. Could weld it, but for the price, it is better to just order one and get the tractor work done later. Besides, it allows me more time to spend on trains.
Colin, hope your dad gets better soon.
RRTraincollector, hope you get good results with your stress test.
Oh! I almost forgot, when I returned home today, had a nice little tax return check from Uncle Sam. Handed it to my bride and told her I circled the items in the Lionel catalog I am interested in . She says I am still on restriction.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOM!!!! ...And many, many more!
A great big WELCOME to the new addition to the Chief family. I bet 7 pounds something on a grits diet turns into 70 pounds something in 3 months
Gonna have to miss the grits festival this weekend...what a shame!
I'm sure some of you in the midwest are already experiencing a storm. The prediction here is for 3-4" of snow by Thursday morning...exactly when I have to start hauling cars to the auction. Sounds like my Friday will be spent recleaning all my winters hard work. If it wasn't for bad luck.....
Looking forward to some R & R in 2 weeks. Wish I was spending the time around the house though. I'd like to get a start on finishing the attic.
Y'all have a good evening!
Bruce Webster
Congratulations, Grandpa Chief.
Tom, again Happy Birthday. What's it like to shovel snow on your birthday?
A Grits Festival? When you have people who think that sitting in back of a pick up truck at the Dairy Freeze on a Saturday night is a big event, I guess a Grits Festival rates right up there with the state fair.

Chuck, they even have a grits song:
I'm from Warwick, Georgia And I know what I want to eat. I don't want no oatmeal and I don't want no Cream of Wheat. Give me some grits, baby. Give me some grits, baby. You can eat it with butter, You can eat it with cheese, You can eat it anytime with Anything you please. As long as its grits, baby. Just give me some grits, baby! Warwick, Georgia, Grits Capital of the World.
I never want to hear another derogatory remark about the Tomato Festival or Pumpkin Festival here in Buckeyeland.

Oh, yeah, the Famous Georgia Gritts Festival !! Gritts is their official prepared food of the state of Geogia as proclaimed by state code 50-3-78 !! So this ain't notin' to sneeze at !!
Boy, I sure hope they make out good on this festival, I guess there's about 430 people all total that make up this big Metropolis !!
Hope all have a good evening !!
Thanks, John

You forgot the Zuccini festival(Obetz), Brauts festival(Bucyrus(you must go here)) and the Corn festival(Millersport) Ohio even has a Moonshine festival but I forgot where that is.
fifedog wrote:dwiemer - I bet the 3 gals in the background can hardly wait to be legally emancipated and hop into the first El Camino out of Warwick.
fifedog, not so fast there. In a place like Warwick, they could be in the running for "town girl".

There are more old pickup trucks than people in that town.
Then there is the Ohio Maple Syrup Festival. Great pancakes.
Good evening,
Chief, where are the pictures?
I picked up three Weaver head end cars today at the LHS. Had them ordered for quite a while, just stopped in to visit a little and he said, got something for you, been to busy to send you and email. The look nice, now I have to take one of my passenger trains off and put on a PRR set.
Take care,
How could they sing for something , that isn't fit for human consumption ???

John,
I'd be interested to hear your opinions of the Weaver head end cars. I have a couple of Pennsy passenger consists that are screaming for some proper head end equipment. Reefers alone don't cut it any more. Are they scale?
Been real quite as the YANKS would try and get this out fom under me. Choochoo Auctions gave up this one for $23.
Good night.
Morning to all. Still pretty chilly here this AM. Supposed to get rain today, tomorrow, and possibly Saturday and Sunday. The Mrs. has a honey do list about a mile long for outside projects and I had hoped to get them done this weekend. Oh well, I have no control over the weather.
Finished cleaning up a tinplate car that was a slopped up paint over of a common Baby Ruth boxcar. The 'ole bucket of Simple Green did its magic again. When the weather warms up, I've got a few cars that I have stripped that I will paint and bake. I need to pick up replacement latch couplers for all of them when I am at York.

Good morning from New England.
Snow expected tonight and into tomorrow...ah, spring...
Got my Marx 666 last night. I set up a test track with one of our CW-80s. The transformer wouldn't work...then I ran it on our layout. The Williams 2023 set on the other track started making odd noises through the sound system. I need to annoint this train with some holy water, and maybe have a priest bless it! Does anyone want a smooth running Marx 666 in E+ condition for cheap $$$?

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a chilly 38 degrees. Cloudy. Going up to 54 today, with rain predicted. This weather is sure changing from day to day.
Yesterday, I got all of the grass mowed. Thank goodness. It was a cool day, but the sun was out all day.
Today is the ever popular shopping day. Have to drive into Cambridge and face the prices. Gas is almost at $3.00 a gallon. Must be an Iran thing. They use some crazy excuses to raise the prices.
Later today, I would like to relax in the train room and run some trains. I need to work out the town setup and put the lights in. I need to get my mind working again.
Dining Car has arrived. Wonder if " points west " has had breakfast yet ? OK, time for food.
Y'all have a great Wednesday.
Chuck
Good morning all,
It is rainy and mild in SE Indiana with temps in the 50s today. Lucas and I and the 1st Self-Propelled Corps of the Lawnmower Forces mowed down the opposition last night in a series of cutting moves that left the enemy short in stature. The 2nd Division was a little slow in getting underway, but at least it started right up when ordered into action. The 1st Division must have been a southern mower as it took several "yanks" to get it started. Rested afterward after a job well done. Stoked up on food this morning before sending the dining car to "Points East". A belated happy birthday to Tom. I seem to be a day late and a dollar short on those greetings :-( I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Mornin' boys. Sunny and cool here in the Mid-Atlantic for now...wet weather's a-comin'.
Buckeye - I checked out that photo album. Thanks.
jaabat - Booga booga...
Blueberry - Noooo, it's an EXXON thing (simply trying to surpass last year's earnings).

Mike, I caught that!!!!! Thems fight'n words pardner! Actually, the Southern division was just putting up a little resistance to keep them yanks at bay.
Kieth, SHHHHHHHHHHH.........don't let anyone know that was me! I enjoy the grits, but at least I don't have to drive all the way over to Warwick to get them. Unlike the yanks who have to wait for a confederate invasion before they can get theirs.
Now, to decide, York, or the Grits Festival? I guess it is Grits this year and hopefully York next. I guess I will just have to do each every other year!

Better watch that New England Yank.
Morning. Just finished a bowl of grits while reading the posts since last night. Rainy here. Understand my FRIENDS up Nawth are due some snow. Couldn't happen to a better lot. Think I will go wire some accessories up on the layout after rest and a couple of more cups of coffee. Retired!!!
Well, yeah... but first I'm going to have a priest exorcise it. If the holy water turns to steam when it hits the loco's shell, that's a very bad sign!
So far no pea soup!
Boogah boogah!!!
Hey Chief, have I got a deal for you! Post war Marx, baby!
