Jim A., I'll bet that trio keeps you on your toes.  Nice looking kids and the trains aren't bad either.

No training here today, tomorrow hope to work on the catenary again.  Have 6 poles installed so far.  Very time consuming on the curves.  Bad news is there are more curves than straight aways.

Enjoy the game,

Yep, you are right, John. Watching the game. In fact, I think Buckeye is watching it too.   LOL

Heh, My wife's boss left Philly on way to California, was to change planes at Pittsburgh. Landed at Pittsburgh and found out his flight out had been cancelled. Couldn't get an early enough flight to save the weekend, so he flew back to Philly.

Can they do anything right in Philly?  A few months ago my wife was on her way to Rochester, NY, so she got on USeless Airways here in Bal'mer around 6:45am.  She got to Philly and found out her flight to Rochester was cancelled... then she was asked if she would like to get on the plane at 3:45... her return flight from Rochester was supposed to be 4:30... she asked the ticket clerk if she thought it would be worth it to get on a plane only to turn right around and get on another plane to come back... clerk's response...

Although I am in the Phoenix area - I have nothing to do with the debacle going on in the UofA stadium. It could be a long cold winter in Buckeyeland.

I will add that there is still 15 minutes left in this game....

BTW - tschmit - Welcom Back! Great to hear from you! CTT had to lock the old forum as it was hogging their server. Per Bergie's suggestion, Chief chose News Years Eve/Day to star a new thread for the 'Pot.

it is actually being played in The University of Phoenix Stadium (official name), UoP does not have sports to my knowledge - they are the largest online university in the world though!  BTW - This is the stadium that the Arizona Cardinals of NFL Fame play in.  Awesome building... I will be there next June when I graduate from Master's School! Big Smile [:D]

Flying into Phoenix this morning was interesting. Flight attendants asking if you were going to the big game. More OSU folks than Gator folks. I personally spoke to 4 OSU folks in the security line and rental car line that were "going to the game" even though they did not have tickets. Obviously I was in the minority coming here for "work." Rental cars were completely sold out as were all hotels, Took me a week to get a rental car secured (hotel secured over a month ago - so no problem there) for this trip.

The new Phoenix Sky Harbor rental car facilty is on Buckeye road!

It is going to be a very quiet day for many red and white fans tonight and tomorrow.

Ack! 41-14 - OSU are not using their remaining minutes wisely....10:20 left OSU offence only 84 yds vs season avg of 400...

Well no wonder - the Florida coach is from Astabula, Ohizo!

BTW - John - great photos!

It normally does not rain here in Phoenix but it is getting pretty wet with OSU tears....

Good morning, everyone.

A bit chilly here today. The Chief brought the cold air with him.  Supposed to warm back up after he leaves!

Sorry to see the final outcome of that game last night.

We installed a set of feeder wires to the far corner (tunnel) of my outer loop last night. I had noticed that trains were slowing down over there. Not any more! 15 feet of 14 gauge wire directly from the transformer have eliminated the slowdowns. The entire loop now has adequate power to keep the trains running at a level speed. The kids helped, too. They ran the wires from the track to the transformer. Julia fastened the wires to the benchwork with duct tape. A true team effort!

Have a great day, all!

Oh it breaks ones heart to stand back and watch a lot of Ohioz folk eat crow.Black Eye [B)]  I need to start the new thread as a comment was sent back to me about not having a Florida train set.

Anyway, hope the Chief has a good trip back.  We are supposed to be getting some more rough weather down these parts over the weekend.

John, nice looking work on that layout.  Keep it up.

Good morning all,

Despite the presence of the Chief up "nawth" as some would say, there was no SNOW in SE Indiana this morning, but the temps will be in the 30s all day today.  My congrats to the Florida fans and condolences to the boys and girls from the Buckeye state.  The last time I saw the score it was 34-14 in the third quarter.  Although I got home late last night, I did find time to enjoy the MARCH issue of CTT!  For once I get to have "braggin' rights" on the "coffeepot" as to who got their issue the soonest!  Woo-hoo!  When the issue does come out and you turn to page 50, you will see why I received mine earlier Smile [:)]  I have some more good news as well.  Lucas had a 3.67 GPA for his first semester, which pleased us immensely.   I better finish this post before Blueberry Hill beats me to the dining car.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cold 30 degrees outside. A little snow dusting, last night. Only going up to 37 today. Warmer, later in the week.

Today, I have a few things to do. Run to the grocery store. Drop one of the " Boys " off at the groomer's for a bath and trim. The other guy goes Saturday. They need it. Maybe later, I will have time for some train running. Busy day.

Buckeye....It's gonna be a long winter.

Well, the Dining Car just rolled in from " points west ". There's still some food left. So, it's time for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Tuesday.

That's OK Buckeye... us PSU Fans know PSU OWNS Tennessee! Shock [:O]

FYI - During the PSU/OSU Kirkie jinxed the Buckeyes when he made the idiotic statement "Troy Smith has never thrown an interception in a big game."  It was just a year prior that Calvin Lowry of PSU Fame had returned a Troy Smith interception to the OSU 2 yd line and two plays later Michael Robinson punched it in for 7!

Anyway... better luck next time!

Well I picked up my North Pole Central Lines Passenger Expansion Pack last night.  Nice set, but why the heck did Lionel include a Non-lighted passenger platform?  Guess they had a stash of them sitting in a closet and figured that would be a good way to unload them!  LOL!

Anyone ever convert one of these to an illuminated version?  I'm thinking two 3mm LEDs should about do it?

The BCS game was a dissapointment, Great coaching, execution, and constant pressure on Smith made the game a Gator win.

The Scioto River flows south from Columbus to Portsmouth, and it is running high.  Glad I'm above the 100 year flood plain.

Cool and overcast here.  Be in the garage/shop making sawdust.

Glad folks are feeling better health wise.  Drink water, eat salsa and rest is what works for me and you don't need  a prescription.

Good morning from a cold Chicago where it is winter again.  Today will be long as my class starts up again tonight.

Laz, I want one of those disappearing beer platforms.

John, you did a great job on that catenary.

Roy, I am using IE 7 too now. The IE7 issues were all resolved.

1500 GMT here in a very mild Stockport, +12, Just been on news +22 (72 F to you Luddites) in NY and NJ. Shouldn't you be under a metre of snow? The Greenies are saying "global warming", I won't be around much longer but I bet our great grand children will be saying what a gullible lot we were to believe all that rubbish.

Going to bite the bullet and actually order the train set. Been home all day waiting for the decorator, he hasn't turned up, so he's lost the job and Lionel have sold some more trains.

Late lunch; Crispy bacon, cheddar cheese, crinkle cut chips (sorry fries) and red onion mayonnaise, washed down with a pint of hot sweet tea. Aah! bliss and sod the cholesterol.

NurseGoing to the hospital tomorrow for a liver scan. Vet misread my blood test result as 777 instead of 111, it's usually between 50 and 150 depending on the Scottish product consumed.

Better finish before this thing times out AGAIN!!
