Evening all.Cold and windy here in the Inland Northwest. Working on the layout, trying to get the #97 coal loader to settle down. It can move the coal, just seems to lay it out everywhere. Anyone have advice on this item? The young nephews seem to like the mess anyway.

WE WON!!!!!

The Eagles won. Not by much, but still a win. A good game indeed.

My dad and I just watched a very large plane fly into the naval base, and boy was it a sharp angle when approaching. It flew directly over our house before circling to land. It was also traveling at a higher rate of speed than I normally see.

Well, good night everyone. Off to finish watching Cold Case.

LISA,

They will be coming up this week still have some more wiring to do.  I would like to get a pic of whole layout with all the lights on.

How was you deer jerky?  Bet real tasty, I'm still trying, this week is the final week for us will get to go next weekend.  I used to make my jerky with wishterser sauce and JACK DANIELS, with a little bit o brown sugar,  good stuff.

RTRAINCOLLECTOR, nice buy, hope you enjoy.

Hey - I sent you some - didn't you get it?  The CHIEF was excited about having sweet tea, grits and Deer jerky.  Anyway - it was really good - the BBQ flavor was great!

I have my own version of a Hobo Hotel.  I'll post the pic sometime.  Been working in my garage this weekend rearranging and throwing out junk to make room to expand my layout.  My husband is finally convinced I'm serious about this and figures he may as well help now that deer season is over here now.

Good luck in the woods this week.

Wishtersir sauce, is it similar to our Worcestershire Sauce? A wondrous concoction often imitated, never equalled, every British kitchen has a bottle. Try it on plain Kettle Chips. MMMM!!

Good morning, everyone.

Yesterday was Christmas decoration removal day. Even though it went fairly quickly, I was still exhausted when it was done. Took a long nap in the middle of the day. Still get very tired easily. Slept a lot this weekend.

We ran trains a lot too. Had a great time running a post war 2056, 2025, and 2018 on the outer loop and a modern Lionel FT on the inner loop.

Still tired today, but last day of antibiotics. Time for some breakfast.

Good morning all,

It is cloudy and cold in SE Indiana with temps in the 30s today.  Driving in was kind of windy this morning.  Desperate Housewives was good as usual last night.  Tmcc man, glad to see your team win.  I think I would join Blueberry Hill in the dining car for breakfast, but I already ate and I am one state away :-)  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cold, windy 30 degrees outside. Going up to only 37 today, with a chance of snow showers. Yuk. Ground is like a swamp from all the rain.

Today, I have to run a few errands and do a few things around the house. May have some time for train running this afternoon. Getting ready for the new benchwork assembly.

Chief....You have a safe trip. I think you will see snow.

Buckeye...Where are you ?? Did you see the Game in Florida ??

Well, the Dining Car is here. " Points west " of here are not having breakfast. That leaves a lot of goodies for me.

Y'all have a great Monday.

Laz,

I have a Williams AA set. I was too cheap to buy the B unit! They are the same size as the old Lionels. Close to scale, but probably not exactly scale. See below:

Hey everyone!

I also took down the tree yesterday(Saturday was remove the outside stuff) and in essence, the tree took me down!!!  I was getting the Angel down and the tree retaliated and took ME down!!  Luckily, nothing was hurt or broken (as I had removed the trains from the board)..oh, yeah, I'm ok.

Supposidly today's high is right now (65) and will get down to 50's later (thank god, this weather just ain't right).

A full 5 day work week this week, should be more fun than I can handle.  Cheers!

Heh, My wife's boss left Philly on way to California, was to change planes at Pittsburgh. Landed at Pittsburgh and found out his flight out had been cancelled. Couldn't get an early enough flight to save the weekend, so he flew back to Philly.

Good morning from a cold Chicago. Springtime is over for the moment. I wore the full winter gear. Boy I love perusing CTT on the train. I can always pick out things from the photos. Buckeye and Jim A, hope you are both feeling better today - I am glad I do not have to travel by air for this job. What a great shot of Jim's children - good way to begin the day.

Laz, you need a mailbox too.

Have a safe trip, Chief. I guess you are not traveling to Chicago anymore.

John B, whenever I am feeling loquacious, I write my post in Microsoft Word, then cut-and-paste it into this window. That says me from being inadvertently timed out.

Morning all

Starting my long break off, gotta love 12 hour shift work.  I plan on taking down the last of the outside decorations and going to the lumber yard for somr cabinet grade plywood, as I've been requested to make another bookcase.  $48 a sheet but it is nice stuff.  I hope I get into the same lot as last time as the #2 side looked as good as #1.  Sunny out now, so going to take advantage of it.

Oh dear Chief!

Our (un)common language again. As I understand; French fries are potatos cut lengthwise into thick slices and then they are cut again to form 1/4" sq chips, deep fried until soft and golden called; chips. If said spud is cut into wafer thin slices and deep fried until crisp called; crisps. These are made here under licence from 'Kettle Foods inc.' their UK web address is www.kettlechips.co.uk

I have been trying with the help of a number of kind people to paste pictures and text into this space for months without success, the magic button(s) always elude me, so I have given up. Sorry!

John Bakeer - I believe what you are describing are potato chips.  Over here they come with a multitude of flavorings available, i.e. sourcream & onion, bar-b-que, etc.  If I recall correctly what we call a french fry is called a frit (sp?) by the French Canadians and maybe in France.

It's always enjoyable in seeing how uncommon our common language is.Laugh [(-D]

Marty, you are right about Philly.  We were 30 minutes late leaving the gate at RDU due to the flight being late coming from Philly.  We taxied to the end of the runway and the engines shut down.  Captain came on and said, "I guess you noiticed the quite.  We are going to sit here until we get clearance to get into Philly."  We sat 40 minutes.  In first class, not bad and better than sitting in Philly.  So I missed my flight but 2 hours later, I got a quick flight to Manchester.  Tailwind helped.  Now for dinner. NO SNOW????????? Disapprove [V]  BTW: next time, go through Charlotte.

Chief, glad to hear you made it there.  I guess it must be time for popcorn!  Had a nice afternoon.  Went shopping with the rest of the family, then came home and built a wooden truck model with my son.  I recieved a copy of the Command Control book by Neil....looks good with plenty of information.  I also ordered a copy of the TM video on Building A O Gauge Layout.  I figured it best to spend a little money now and avoid the frustration of having to buy it later and diagnose what I did wrong.Confused [%-)]

I am looking forward to the arrival of my latest motive purchase.  I already bid on another Hudson on a auction.  I am still under train restriction, but hey it's my birthday this week and who knows, perhaps I will be very happy and She who must be obeyed will not kill me.

Anyway, have a great night,

Dennis

Good evening all,

Getting set to watch the Ohio State / Florida game.  Should be a good one.  Guess all you Ohio guys will be tuned in for this one. Smile [:)]

Jim A., I'll bet that trio keeps you on your toes.  Nice looking kids and the trains aren't bad either.

No training here today, tomorrow hope to work on the catenary again.  Have 6 poles installed so far.  Very time consuming on the curves.  Bad news is there are more curves than straight aways.

Enjoy the game,

Hello everyone,

It seems like forever since I've been here...or at least a few months. I haven't taken much time with the trains lately and that includes being on line. The new job started in September and just seems to occupy all my time. I have managed to find some time to relax over time. In the fall I went with my son who is doing grad work at Notre Dame to a football game there. We also went to see another one of the kids in Geogia and went to a UGA football game.

The day after Christmas I led a group of youth and young adults to a Global Gathering and Legislative Assembly in South Africa. It was a great experience meeting other youth, young adults and adults in youth ministry from all over the world. We were only there for a week but it was a great. We visited Soweto and other areas associated with Apartheid. I've been pretty lucky over the years in that I've been able to travel to places in the world with youth in the church.

Christmas was good around here with 5 of 6 kids getting home for the holidays. We had a great time before I had to leave for S.A.

I see where this is only page 16 of this post. I was wondering what happened to all those previous pages. I hope you all have been well and that the new year is off to a good start. I look forward to beeing here again on a more regular basis.

Have a good evening all,
Tom
