Morning!

Laz:  Them's some nice fish!  I figure if you caught 'em, or bought 'em they're still yers!

Brutus:  Looks like some nice stuff.  Hope it works.  I found a good trick from the pros is after you cut the line, open up a few faucets, wrap a towel around the open end of the pipe, and blow out the line with 20-pounds of compressed air.

Doug:  Sorry you had to ship the cats to the Chief.  They'll be good exercise for the dog!

Jumijo:  Nice pink.  That'll even look good on a Vista Dome! Laugh [(-D]  Brent, maybe you should send the rest of the set!  Perhaps some Pink Panther decals.  Whistling [:-^]  Hey why hasn't Lionel produced a Owens Corning Boxcar?

Anyone seen/heard from Don?  Photos of the layout??  Sounds like he was trying to keep up with Brent.

Beav, that dead deer sounds like a mob hit to me. Was he wearing a New Jersey necktie?

Looks like Lazberry caught some serious fish! The Merrimack River in my area is also low (by about 5 feet) because of a dam. Workers are repairing a dam up river and needed to lower the water level. Add to that the dry summer we've had and the river is quite low.

It took some doing, but I found that pink paint for Brent's tender. I had some left over from this project.

Morning to all.  A fresh pot is on.

Last night was a long night at a Board of Ed meeting.  They did approve the boundaries for the new school so now I'll have an idea of how many kids I'll have next year. Thanks for the compliments on the web page.  I find working on the web page relaxing.

jonadel- the school is an interesting design.  Love that it is geothermal, should eliminate complaints about too hot, too cold etc. as we will have individual controls for rooms.  Not controlled by Big Brother at some computer somewhere.  Big Brother can monitor but really can't muck around with setting the temp back to 50 at night/weekends and then trying heat things up an hour before teachers arrive.  The geothermal doesn't have the capacity to make those drastic jumps, so we will maintain an even temp year round.  Also will have generator large enough to keep heat/air running if power is off.  I will e-mail you more details.

LAZ - sounds like you had a great trip with your bro fishing for salmon.

88/Brent - You must be the Energizer Bunny - I get tired just reading about all your projects. Laugh [(-D]

RT - jefelectric - I still change my own oil but know what you mean about the aches and pains.  That reminds me i need to change my oil again soon.

jumijo - I think pink is a great color for 88's repair job. It will bring out his feminine side.Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Have agreat day.

Mitch

Roy, former owner was not environmentally inclined.  On the area the house sits on outside of the back fenced area [larger than the house lot], I have more concrete than anything else.  Concrete drive from street to back of house, concrete walk to front door from drive, extra wide pad next to side door and parking area in back for half court basketball [goal now removed and another set of gates to back yard there now] and three car wide concrete across back yard to detached double car garage.  Almost need stormwater control device.

Now as for cats!!!!  NONE around my house.  Lab likes cats as good as he likes squirrels.  I like them even less.

USNRol is right on about the bread and sweating pipes.

Good night.

Have used that stuff...works great just as advertised.  But bread also works and at 2-3 bucks a loaf a helluva lot cheaper for the minor inconvenience of purging soggy bread chunks out of your pipes after the jobs done.  I think what's pictured goes for 10-15 dollars.

Hmmm - guess it's just me, or you guys are waiting for me to be offline (?!) - anyway, just remembered to say I got my latest ebay win - Rock Island work caboose, illuminated.  I'll strip off the "cabin" and railings and use this as a flatcar for a diving bell, that will be lit by the built in fixture.  Will post pics when I get something done on it.

Oh, also ended up taking back the multimeter I bought yesterday and trading up to one that (a) uses regular AAA batteries, (b) does continuity tests, and (c) automatically calibrates etc.  I think it has 29 functions.  The kid at radioshack gave me a good price on it since the other guys sold me one that didn't do what I wanted and didn't get me batteries etc.  This kid gets my business next time 4-sure!

RT - LOL!  Good one!

Went out to eat with friends tonight - had a 40 minute wait for a table then an hour wait for food - reuben sandwich was pretty good, but not worth a 2.5 hour dinner on a weeknight, that's for sure.  They need more help or something.

Stuck here in KC. Tired after 3 long days of meetings and 2 to go.

Looking forward to York next week and seeing the gang!

LAZ - nice catch!

Chief hopes to upgrade to a gravel driveway as soon as he can!

Doug - maybe the cat was chasing a mouse in the tunnel?

Have a great evening all!

Doug,

I agree, I think the same thing happened with the burgers.  If the contamination was as bad as we were led to believe, why were only 38 people infected?  Because they were the ones that either undercooked the burgers or used poor handling methods when cooking.  My My 2 cents [2c].

I always used ramps and had a concrete floor to work on, but even that means I still have to get on and off the creeper, which is not as easy as it once was.  When I bought my present PU in 2004, I bought a 7 year warranty that even includes oil changes, so I am covered untill 2011.

Well gang, surprised ole Jimbo hasn't posted.  Dead buck [gut shot] floating in the pond.  Small spike or 4 pointer.  Shots at dark, called WRC, officer off duty but lives in Roseyville.  He came down to pond and they shot again.  They claim they hunted yesterday but did not shoot at dark.  The shot came from them.  Maybe the black pochers that live on the hill at the pond shot him.  They are shooting too late.  They got a ticket but not what they should have gotten for shooting too late.  They are hunting property line.  I will catch them and run them off.  Man owns ajoining property hates deer and wants all of them killed.  Now for dinner as I just got back in the house.

One note though on the pics, notice how low the river is.  It is usually 2-3 feet higher this time of year.  They have a dam there and it was only allowing 100cfs out.  The lowest I ever saw the Salmon  river in Pulaski.   Did I say we had fun though?

Cloudy and damp here today, so I just did laps in the parking garage. The rest of the week promises more of the same, but hopefully the weekend will be clear.

I guess Brent is going to send me his pw tender and passenger car for me to experiment with. I sure hope he likes pink! I sure hope he doesn't want them before June!

Sigh [sigh]  What a boring day.  Zzz [zzz]
