Good morning from New England. The sky is clear and the air is cool. Autumn is here in all its glory.
I watched an Eddie Murphy movie last night - Norbit. The previews made it look like a family comedy. Uh-uh. The language was blueish.
Looking forward to tonight's family get together. Have some chores to keep me busy until then. Also want to clean up the train room. Wooden trains all over the floor.
I'd write more but I'm not even sure I'm awake.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cold 34 degrees with fog. Looks like the sun is trying to come out. Going up to a sunny 68 degrees.
Today, I am working around the house. I have a few projects to finish up. Then, I will spend a couple of hours working on the layout. I have all the materials to finish up a couple of scenery areas. And I will run the trains, as I am doing this.
Indians lost big time last night to Boston. It was not a good showing for our pitcher. Maybe we will do better today.
Nascar race tonite from Charlotte.
Dining car has rolled in and it's time for breakfast. Later.
Y'all have a great Saturday.

Morning!
Brutus: National training??? What are you doing?
Nick12DMC: Bud Beer and Foldgers Coffee...MMMMMmmmmmm. My favorites. I get into trouble when I come back home with the Bud for company...Bride doesn't drink the beer mind you, but expects to serve 'good' beer. There's nothing like a fresh ground cup of french roast with the Creme Brulee.
Perusing the 'What was your first trains set' thread....There are a lot of new faces (under 50 posts). Looks like things are about to heat up. I noticing prices starting to rise too!
Today's the day! Starting benchwork for the Christmas layout! Bride and girls going out for breakfast. Hopefully photos for Sunday Photo fun.

Brutus wrote:Nick, I forgot to post the other day, cool pics from your trip! Are you gluing that drywall to the block walls?
Hi Jim, Yes the drywall is being glued to the block walls. Known as "dot and dab" over here. We are however bringing in a professional plasterer to finish skim the walls and celing.
The ceiling was easy to drywall as its screwed into place and we hired a special drywall lift to raise the sheets into place.
I managed to liberate some US Foldgers coffee on last weekends trip, so I'll top up the pot.
Taking Charlie and his pal to Laserforce this afternoon.
Have a good Saturday folks

Hi everyone!
Keeping busy. The whole family is at one stage or another of the "Crud". My bride mentioned that our son's closet has another layer of trains and how it is a good thing I am on "restriction". Got a few more goodies. I will have to take pictures one of these days.
Anyway, busy weekend. Did a field trip with my son, then we have a "Boot Camp" for the movie with all the crew, production staff, etc. Then, we have the hospital's picnic which is always a grand affair. Sunday, we have the church services, but also some more work with the planning as shooting starts Monday. And, once Monday comes, looks like I will be on the run for a few months.
Sorry that I have not been able to keep up with the posts. Will keep prayers for all needs. Take care and hope everyone has a blessed week ahead.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Evening all. Got just done running trains. Williams 2023 Alcos pulling a set of post war 2400 cars on the inner loop. Post war 2055 on the outer loop. All ran smooth. The 2055 smoked nicely. Now the kids are watching a movie.
Big weekend ahead. Looking forward to seeing family tomorrow. Sunday - who knows.
I'll have John leave out vanilla ice cream for Chewy and she'll make Rocky Road for you!
Just heard that they signed Simon Pegg (Shaun in Shaun of the Dead) to play Scotty in the new Trek movie! VERY COOL! He was also great in Hot Fuzz! I'll get the trolley wally!
Brutus-your going away? how will I get my Rocky Road?
Checked the Indians game ,was not going well. Red wings are ahead, but its not over till its over. I did a little train running today. Hudsons were always my favorite but I have to say that scale Lionel Berk sure is sweet. I'll check back later,,Brutus keep in touch I need my ice cream. Sir James

Philly Baby! Have you thought about some other cable service? Up here we have a choice between Comcast and Verizon. Both companies offer phone, cable and internet, or any combination thereof.
Hey, I did my no holds barred stop raining dance for you, buddy boy. You owe me some post war merchandise! Got any GG1s?
Or shall I make it rain again?
Jefelectric,
Would love to have your weather down here in south Florida but I have to settle for 78 degree mornings and 88 degree afternoons.
I am working for Avis Rental Car Company at the PalM beach FL airport.
Still NO word from Concast(Comcast Cable) criminals!
Got the rest of my K-Line Super Street curves today at Jupiter FL hobby shop, now to install the final leg of my upper level layout! I have the 12 inch curves and so far only the Plymouth Switcher set by K-Line can make it threw the curves. Wanted to put the K-Line Coka Cola Bears handcar set on it.

Just checking in again.
Granddaughters were here for a short visit, no time to run trains as they were on the way to visit great grandfather. Worked on dollhouse for a couple of hours. Soon time to get ready for high school football game, so far undefeated. Away game about an hour away so have to leave pretty early, no reserved seats at the away games. Predicted to be in the lower 40's and windy so it should be good football weather, except for the wind.
Take care,
STURGEON PHISH,
Good job moving that tonage o rock. Beers will taste great tonite. I'm sure the bed will feel good too. Remember with that concrete to pace yourself, I was a concrete finisher for 5 years. My knees still hurt.

Afternoon all,
I'm off today and glad to have a break. Many goals and milestones are due and we're making them but it is exhausting!
I had 8 tons of crushed limestone delivered this morning and just finished spreading it by hand. Bride helped and we got the area within 1/2" level over the 20 x 30 footprint for the garage addition. Nice and cool so it was nice work. Going to start the forms and renting a compactor in the morning. With a little luck by this time next week the pad will be poured.
Sounds like most are on the mend now, thanks to God for answered prayers.
The cool weather is nice. Have the doors and windows open. I love fall. Don't want to think about heating season. We keep our house on the cool side. Programmable tstat 58 at night 64 when occupied, and we dress warmly. We have an old/new house. Originally build in 1890's we have completly gutted and re did everything to the framing and added on a two story addition. Old side has 3 1/2 fiberglass insulation with 1/2 foamboard on top of the studs under the sheetrock, new side 6" walls and insulation and the whole thing is wrapped in 1/2 osb then siding. Makes for a strong tight house.
Laz-nice fish the other day
Chief-Good find on the tree trimmers; hard to find folks who will do hard work these days.
Jim-develop quick reflexes for those early morning wake-ups by the grand kids
Grandkids coming up so hope to get some train time in.
May God bless

Hi all,
FIL and I have been working on the Gamesroom today. We now have drywall on the ceiling and are 3/4 the way round the walls. We ran out of drywall adhesive for the walls. The adhesive gets everywhere...and I mean everywhere except where you want it.
Morning all,
Jean had a tooth pulled yesterday, doing pretty good, but some pain. Went along to grocery shop, she won't let me go alone, spend to much on the wrong things.
Was about to start work on the dollhouse project, but Jean just left me know the granddaughters are here for a visit.

We have a new [4 years old] high efficiency natural gas furnace too. This old house is not insulated like modern ones. Added insulation where I could. Sometimes we bump it up to 70. Turn it down at night. Only turn it down 5 or so degrees as a fishing buddy of mine [in the heating and A/C] says that is about the break point for cost. Any lower and you waste the difference in the warm up period in the morning. Tree trimmers gone. Excellent job for all the work they did and cleaned up. Well, there went more of the money I won last week.
HI GIZ,
55 and brisk here today. Windy at about 15-20 mph. Was going to have a fire with my wife tonite outside but to much wind maybe saturday? Going to run trains and watch DA TRIBE on tv tonite.
CHUCK and OTTS BOYZ, GO TRIBE!!!!!!
TGIF.
ALL BE SAFE.
Good morning from a crisp and sunny Chicago where it seems like winter. Got a big day here - class about podcasting, some other development work. Anticipated highlight of my weekend is I hope to go to the Great Train Show at DuPage Cty fairgrounds this Sunday morn. Never been. Supposed to be big. Wonder if the vendors take checks or a credit cards or are they all-cash? That Gipp story sure is weird. No one knows why the family really wanted to do it.
