Afternoon all!
Lots o' catching up to do. Just a few days left til nirvana in York.
Don B - I am not sure what is really happening out there but it sounds like your continued health is in serious jepardy - sit back and take a deep breath and stand clear of the forbidden zone!
Still catching up from my trip to KC last week and had a very busy weekend preparing for York and other train activities.
Regards, Roy
Mornin' All,
Jim, Take a look at the "G" scale listings on E-Bay, those "hobo campfire" accessories are almost always there.
Crawdads, just think of them as "Freshwater Lobster" , how many of them did I waste as a kid using them as fish bait.
Rusty Cars, It ain't only up nawth. That's the only thing holding my Datsun p/u together.

Just back from a noon time walk. It's gorgeous out there. Clear and crisp. Each day I check on the progress of a house being built way down the street. The lot had a house on it that was torn down so a bigger one could be built. It's almost finished from the looks of it.
Got the dentist to look forward to today at 3:30. That's tooth hurty central time... Anyway, the hygenist is a babe, so it's not going to be all bad.
Campfire tonight. If I don't completely forget about it.

Chief,
That sounds like my car! The underbody is a mess, and it is only a 97.

If you wanted to simulate a larger fire (bonfire), you could but a lamp socket in the surface of your layout and put one of those flickering bulbs in it. Then, just pile some small branches around it. I saw that in Toy Trains and Christmas part 3, and it looked pretty good.
I have today off, so I am rebuilding the 2343.

No such thing in FL as a solid old car. Must have come from NC. Of course anything is better than one from Yankeeland [rust holding rust together].

I trust that Don B is still around after trying to aquire more right of way for his railroad in the Baker House. If we have not heard from him at the end of the day, we'll have to dispatch a search party to Cerritos,California & find him. Take Care all.

Good morning all,
IIABSDISEI with temps near 80. Dbaker, I like your thinking and creativity, but I have a feeling your line may soon file for abandonment on the new extension. I did see the headlines on the I-5 wreck, but I had not read the details. That is truly sad what happened. Chief, I hope you get your neighborly issues settled. Buckeye, congrats on OSU being number one. With the number of upsets occurring this year, who knows where any team will be at the end of the season.
It was a busy weekend. Friday night mowed the yard and went to the YMCA. Watched three hours of TV ("Deal or No Deal", "Moonlight", and "Numb3rs"). Saturday did some housework, reffed an 11 AM soccer game, had lunch, went to a local craft show at the elementary school and book sale at the library with the wife (bought a nice railroad book by Lucius Beebe), reffed a 3:30 PM soccer game, and came home and got cleaned up so I could out with Lucas and some of his friends to help celebrate one of his friend's 18th birthday. The dad of the birthday boy drove so I did not have to. We went to Hooter's in Greenwood, and then to Border's bookstore. Watched a little of the NASCAR race, which Jeff Gordon won. Sunday went to church, went to the YMCA, ate lunch and went to a choir concert that Lucas was in. They have a new teacher this year and it shows in the much better singing. Drove around the Honda plant and got some Halloween "stuff". Put up the Halloween decorations (including some new orange lights for the outside, really looks sharp), helped Lucas with an English paper and watched "Desperate Housewives", which was really good.
Dining car had bran muffins from "Points East". I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
PS There was an article in the weekly magazine that comes with the local newspaper about "Facing the Giants". I think one of the forumites was involved in this movie, but I cannot remember who. I was telling my wife that I knew of someone involved in this, but would whoever it is please refresh my memory? Thank you.
