Morning. 50 and a little breezy. Comfortable outside. Trip to Raleigh and errands. Leave XT4 at dealership and get loaner. You have an appointment but they want to keep your vehicle.   Oh well.

Will try and finish door project.

Morning all!

Sprinkling all morning. 50's and gray.

Another day of photon withdrawal - thought this would be easier!

Dennis - sorry about the damage to your house - hope it is not too serious as you initially imply!

Morning. Human Services Board meeting. Now my Regional Networks Of Care meeting at 10:30. Caddy ready.

Got my County Comm. buddy on the phone. She called as soon as meeting was over. [she finally got off] Got the reason Wake Co. is so slow on vaccinations. Seems the medical director and Secretary of DHHS is over her head. She is shipping same amount of doses to every county. Wake is the largest county in NC. Also has three big major medical facilities [front line workers and 1,300 EMS workers]. Not sending doses proportionally. DUH Also the tiers of vaccination are based on deaths from COVIS. Age is the major factor. Preexisting conditions has a lower death rate than age. All explained in my meeting today.

Cloudy and 43. 82% humidity. Damp out.

Have a good one.

Morning. 44 and sun coming out. High 50's to 60 guessed.

Got to rush. Suddenly drawn into a mess in one of my adopted daughter's back yard. She has owned the house for over 2 years. Suddenly developer shows up and takes a chunk of her back your and install deep storm drain. She was gone. Neighbor stops them [he is an engineer]. Now Wake Co Environmental is coming with developer. Wrong!! I have to represent her as she is quarantined as her teenage daughter has COVID [acquired by going to a national cheering event  ].

Have a good one.

Mornin' boys. Partly sunny and 42 in the Potomac Highlands. Wifey and preggo princess headed out for a shopping trip, so fifemax and I will be on our own for dinner. Will spend some time in the train room, hanging some new items, and perhaps "breaking ground" on the next section of layout to be sceniced.

We did return to JoAnn's yesterday, and I took advantage of their 40% off Spring floral sale.  I'm loaded with color now going forward.

Cold is the word today but it is here with bright sun! About 15 out there now. Snow on the way Sunday and Monday if they are right?? Heading to daughters to take her in for her COVID vaccination first shot in about an hour. I need to leave early to pick up some 3/4" PVC hangers, Seems I grabed ones for coper pipe when I got all the other stuff on my BOM Bang Head so I am at a stand still on my drain project. I did finish the drain side yesterday but need the hangers to do the pressure side.

Chief, that sounds just wrong!!!

Prayers for Roy and the rest in need.

Slow but sure.

Hello there,

Roy....hang in there

Wuhan is still rampant here.

Haven't even thought about getting the vaccine. A few friends and family in the nursing field have. Seen quite a few reports of flu symptoms after the 2nd shot.

Got the kitchen empty and started repairing the damaged plaster. Found some minor cracks on the walls and decided to address them too. The wall behind the stove cleaned up better than expected so we decided leave it alone.
Went to  HD today for flooring and paint. Got some stuff to add a receptacle and a 3 way switch for the lights at the top and bottom of the basement steps. Several of the treads on the basement steps are split and need replaced, the top one ties into the kitchen floor so I need to deal with it.

Tomorrow's project is helping son haul s**t out of the barn.
Off to bed soon.

Prayers for those in need and the end of this pandemic.

Good afternoon, boys and girls.  Sunny & 32 (real feel 23) along the Patterson Creek cut-off.  Wifey tells me I'm headed to Middle Princess castle to hang a picture, and assemble a bassonette (sp?).

Did get the pictures and knickie-knacks hung in the train room, but hadn't started the new scenery. Needed to do a bit more strategery.  Gotta hava plan.  Studied some old photos of the actual site, called Hanging Rocks (Romney, WV).  Then started to conceptualize how I wanted it to be finished.  It's in the center of the room, closest to the viewer, hence it must look good.  Woof.  Wife and I scouted the Thomas Kinkade studio website, and she likes the top half of Bridge of Faith, and the bottom half of Spring Gate.  Lots of color, and so the process starts.

I've really enjoyed watching the America's Cup match races. If you like racing (not necessarily sailboat), you might want to check it out.  American Magic had a dramatic capsize last week.

Afternoon.  48 and cold due to wind chill.  Blowing.  Glad sun is out.  Been driving Miss Daisy most of the morning.  Glad to be back home.  Will not do anything outside.  Did finish the big door on end of shelter project late yesterday.  Caulked and painted [twice].  Tools put up and all cleaned up.   May tinker in the Train Box.  Did get internet extender in greenhouse house and now Train Box laptop has internet.  YA!  3 bars.

News media and Wake elected officials finally exposing State's lack of organization to get vaccine out.  Wake the largest Co. [well over 1M people] in NC.  Also the largest health care facilities in the state.  Getting the smallest allocations.  County Commissioners and Legislators raising cane with the State DHHS.  Its a mess.

Hope all OK.

On the vaccine front. My State Senator called and told me how to cheat the system on MyChart for WakeMed. Didn't have to. Asked for appointment for vaccine. Got the date of 28th and I selected the time. Got immediate reply confirming appointment.   28th at 12:30 PM. MyChart is not telling us what to do. The claim they will email you.

Later.

Thanks so much Doug, we truly appreciate it.  So true, so true.

Chief, Virginia's an absolute mess with the vaccines as well.  The medical people and first responders are getting theirs, and that great, but everyone else?

Went the the Va Department of Health website, it's a Chinese puzzle!  NO ONE can figure it out!  I can wait, I've got plenty of "Virginia Gentleman" and some "Makers Mark" to help kill the bugs.

Months to get ready for this and...

Hang tough Roy, stay strong!

Roy, Just think how good that In-N-Out Burger double/double will taste when you are ready. If it weren't for the salt restrictions I'd be right there with ya !

Got a seat at the lunch table reserved for ya.

Snowed today, around 4 inches so far. Took Cody for his walk, and my hands and feet ended up the coldest they've been this season. (Still a little tingling in the finger tips).

Good evening all,

A busy day of painting for me.  The living is now finished and tomorrow I will finish the stairway leading downstairs and the downstairs hallway.  For dinner, I made chicken wings in the air fryer and they were great.  I tossed them in a dry rub, bbq sauce, and a buffalo hot sauce.  I need to be in bed soon so I can enjoy a morning jog, watch church, and finish the painting.

Good night,

Joe

Hello there,

Nothing exciting here. Spent most of the day helping son. Then crashed in front of the fireplace for a couple hours before supper. Watched Mass then a shower and a soak in the  hot tub before a glass of wine while watching Star Trek on ME TV

Never did get the February CTT. Called Customer Service the other day and was told to give it till the 21st, still didn't show. I'll call again Monday

Bed is calling

Prayers for those in need and the end of this pandemic.

Joe, This is the recipe I use for wings and it is great, just wonder how it would work as an overnite marinade then done in an air fryer w/o have to cook in the sauce.

I too did not get my Feb CTT. I called cust svc (Texas ?) on Jan 15. They told me I would get replacement in 10 working days just like they do each time it happens. Can't reall understand why it should take that long. Of course one time it took a month and a half. Almost cancelled over that.   Wayne

Hey Spank, if it ain't the China Virus then what is it?  It didn't come from Sweden.  Or the Ukraine.  Or Madagascar.  Or 'Nam.  Or Elbonia for that matter.

I wonder if the alternator's going on the Saturn?  If it's the original that could be the cause of the battery issues.  Saturn's haven't been made in quite a while now.  Lady Firestorm had a Saturn and liked it, but when the transmission started acting up it was going to cost more to fix it than the car was worth, so, good-bye Saturn.  The starter may be going too, Lady F had to have that replaced about a year before the tranny started to go.

Late magazines?  Lady F only got her "Good Housekeeping" and "Better Homes" mags yesterday, two weeks overdue.  We still haven't gotten the "Readers Digest" and my latest, action-packed edition of "Railpace" hasn't shown up either.

February's "CTT" I got last week.  We all know about the USPS so no point in my going into it again.

Aloha. Cloudy and cold.Supposed to be snowy this week. I'm glad I'm still working from home. Speaking of working, I wanted to avoid doing some reports and other office work that I can't seemt to get to during the week so I decided as yet another distraction to tackle my login issues here - and voila!

Fife, your and Mrs. Fife's inspiration to decorate the train room sounds wonderful.

Flint, my condolences on the loss of your dog. They are sure members of the family. We currently have two - a puppy and an older dog. Along with two cats who don't get along with the puppy. Wrangling them is like doing so with young children but worth it!

Glad you're getting the vaccine, Chief!

DJ, I wonder if something is going on with the alternator - I'd forgotten that is what went bad with our Saturn wagon - and some other odd electrical issues.

WOW,, Good to see Doug!!!! Yes

Finished up the plumbing project yesterday just to find out the softener had a leak in the drain line so that kind of killed the whole idea.Bang Head Today I took it apart and found some hill rod plumber installed the wrong O ring and it did not contact the outsine port with no pressure so it would leak out anything in the drain line but would seal under pressure??? Go figure?

So all is fine now and working, I will not post a bunch of pictures or waste your time with any more on that. It works for me...... Wink

So the UK virus strain is in IL and 24 other states, 30% worse for (death) and so easy to get??? So what do you guys want to call it?? Laugh

They say alcohol's not supposed to help when you get cold, in fact they SAY it makes things worse, but I don't know, seems to be otherwise in my case.

Alcohol widens the blood vessels near the skin, which allows core body heat to leave quicker, the heat dissapating from the skin makes the person feel warm.

So, it is bad to have alcohol in your system if you are going out into the cold, or already out in the cold, but a shot once you get in out of the cold, might be a good thing.

I was going to snowblow the driveway this afternoon, but the wife had other ideas. I did get it done this evening. Maybe I'll start taking down one of the Christmas trees this evening.
