Happy Pre-Friday

Meeting went as planned - Sworn in as 1st VP for another year

Dinner with Jenni and then home by midnight - Saturday is on the horizon....lol - then I can sleep late.

Tonight is a meeting with the President of the FD and possibly drill, depending on how long the meeting lasts.  Underhanded things happening and it's sad.

My brake parts came in for the Magnum, so stage 2 of the "rebirth" commences possibly tomorrow night depending on the temp outside.
Stage 3 will be getting the left axle replaced and then we can see where we go.  Right now the list involves left axle, rear pads and rotors, new headlight housings and a windshield.

Hope to get some train time on Saturday.

Prayers for Brent's Family and Dad, MartyE's Family and Dad and FifeMom and Fife's family and Roy (not glowing in the dark yet, are we?)

That's all from here.

Evening folks!

Surviving - completed session # 23 today, 7 to go!

The treatments are pretty hard on one's skin in the area being treated - looks like I was too close to a blast furnance. Doc told me some "burns" on my back below my neck are due to the photon torpedoes from the front! Wowzers!

Marty and Brent - so sorry for your loss - lost my father 35 years ago - within a year of our marriage, at least he was able to attend!

Regards, Roy

Good evening all,

It was a good day today.  The wife made some beef taco soup which was fantastic.  We are expecting some snow tomorrow and the schools have already cancelled classes.  It only takes a few inches to shut down this area.  I hope everyone has a good night.

Good night,

Joe

Hello there,

Roy....continued prayers.

gotta admit I'm really concerned about the future of the country.

Lit the lights for the last time last night .  Nice weather today,  Mrs and I got all the outside down and mostly put away today at the townhouse, farm house tomorrow. The inside stuff and tree will stay until it starts dropping needles to bad.

Best get to sleep. Prayers for those in need and the end of this pandemic.

Good evening all,

Another quiet day at work.  Did some errands afterwards.  Got the outside lights down as well.  Weather is still cold.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Mornin' boys.  Cloudy & 29 (calling for flurries) along the Patterson Creek cut-off.  Received a package from Charles Ro yesterday. 2 AF freight cars and a complimentary Lionel catalog.  Another freight car on back order.  Will probably post on a future SPF.

Speaking of SPF, where are all your pics?  Posting elsewhere...?

42 and sun peeping out.  Misting something now.  Had a mix earlier.  Early computer meeting.  Was longer than planned.

Off to the Train Box as so messy outside.  Didn't get to work there yesterday as suddenly things filled up and errands to run.

Wifey got to see Colin Powell on Today show.  Smart man.  Should have been President.  She says he told it like it is and made on bones about it.

Gas prices jumping up so oil companies can make more profit.  No control.

Have a good one.

General Powell's one of the great "What ifs?"  As one of the most admired men in the country he could have been president in a heartbeat if he wanted the job, but he didn't.  Can't make someone run for prez who doesn't want to.

Hey, TGIF, guys!!

Delivered the message to the President and actually sat through drill - mandatory classes on harassment and all that, more in 2 weeks.

Sunny and 40 again today, should be REALLY CHILLY tonight when I put the brakes on the Magnum.

I scored a 1974 727 TorqueFlite (automatic) transmission for $50 out of a 40K motorhome - dude had no use for the trans, just wanted the 440.  I'll keep that as a spare for Jenni.
We'll pick that up tomorrow night with the Magnum.  It's over in New Hope, PA and that will be a nice drive, possibly go to dinner nearby.

Fife - apparently, the resolution in my new phone/camera is too high for this site - and some reason I can't lower it - ah, technology....I'll try to figure it out

I ordered the left rear axle yesterday as well, once that comes in I'll get it installed and hopefully, all the ABS/ESC/BAS lights will go off.  The learning curve on this Dodge/Mercedes hybrid has been, um, interesting.

That's all from here

Good evening,

Well, we averted any major snowfall.  It was mostly rain with some flurries here and there.  Not sure how it was supposed to accumulate up to 5 inches.  I'm sure some are happy, but I enjoy snow.  It's been a good Friday and I have plenty of chores on tap for tomorrow.  As soon as I finish watching Star Trek The Motion Picture I am off to bed.

Good night,

Good evening all,

Quiet day at work again.  Weather still cold.  No "footie" this weekend.  Got seasons 2 and 3 of H--- on Wheels for some binge watching this weekend.  Most of the Christmas stuff down.  Got stimulus money today.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Mornin' boys.  Mornin' girls. 27, but at long last a bright sunny day in the Potomac Highlands.  Ladies will be gone shopping in a bit.  Not sure if I'll have to fend for myself for supper.

It's official.  Fifey has bats in his bellfree; or his attic at least.  We've been hearing a little scratching and fluttering, but the "evidence" was found.  A quarter sized hole was all it needed.  Plugged the gap with foam, and fastooned some wire mesh over the roof caps.  Youngest Princess's BF was the hero, but not before the evicted subject "buzzed" by Alexis's head.  That was fun.  If batty wants to relocate to the shed, I'd be ok with that.  I hate skeetoes.

40 and sunny.  NO SNOW so guessers missed it again.  All was west of us.  Nothing much on agenda today.

I did it.  Finished [even with lots of phone calls] lighting my new buildings.  Got a couple of old ones in the back corner to do now.  Menards easy to do.  MTH ones have the "clips" you press down and slide the wire through like the old Lionel ones.  Only thing is, clips so small the wire will hardly go through.  May go back to Train Box and do some more work.  Too cold out and too wet to do outside work.

Hope all have a great weekend and stay safe.

Hey Fife we always knew you were a little batty Laugh Whistling

Afternoon all. Time to get moving. I'm trying to clear all off the train table so I can tear it down and start over with a better idea of size. My first goal was as big as I can go, but I have realized walking across the top of the train table isn't the best idea, to get to items on shelves or even a derailment of some sort. The original plan was good but just too much I could not get to. So the new one will still be large but not as large. This time it will be 8' x 20' I will have 2' or better all the way around on three sides, ( 2 long and 1 short) most I will have as to reach in will be 4' which I can do, but I do not plan on having any trains more than 3' in from any side 2' feet most likely but sidings could take it to 3' on one side. I have a platform & steps from the house that take 4' so that side of the layout I will have 6' from the wall. That will give me an area of about 12' that will be an open area of 6' wide. I may at the end there at the train table height build a cabinet 6' wide and 2' deep to display some train sets in boxes and other trains. But first I have to get everything packed up or put on shelves that are on the train table.

Smokey1 - My former layout, the problem spot (self-inflicted,of course) was in a corner, that involved me crawling under the bench work for some 8ft, on a cement floor, to correct "issues". Flash forward, new benchwork allows for access, everywhere, standing upright. Both layouts were/are nice, but I've yet to get knicked up by the new one.

Good afternoon,

It is a cold and dreary morning here in East Tennessee.  I took our puppy to his final Puppy Manners class this morning and I was hoping to start some clean up in the garage, but I think I will wait until tomorrow when it is supposed to be a bit warmer and sunny.  We will be having grilled ribeye steaks for dinner tonight.

Have a great day,

Mornin' Fellas

Fife - bats are fun and cool... until they turn your attic in to their cave. Hope you got the guano removed... that can be nasty stuff.

Have to prep the house for a few painting projects. Fife care to grab a brush and roller and assist? TheQ has chosen a color from the old house that she likes, so there won't be any changing of the mind. lol

Bought some Weather Tech up-grades for the Colorado. Stopped over at the factory store Friday morning. Will be nice for traveling. Tailgate protector and hard bed cover. Very nice stuff they make! Yes

Good evening,

Had a nice Sunday today.  Enjoyed a 4-mile run in the morning followed by some leaf burning in the afternoon.  I cooked a leftover ribeye and some eggs for lunch so I was not terribly hungery at dinnertime.

Brent - Good to see you posting.

Good night,

Good evening all,

I have spent the last 2 days binge watching Season 2 of H--- on Wheels.  A little better than the first season.  Stayed in both days this weekend as local priest has COVID and no Masses were held.  Lucas came home from seeing his daughter and we had a nice visit.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Water over the dam.  Discussion over.

Good morning. 44 and mostly cloudy. Rain later.

Nothing on my agenda. Train stuff from Menards to help with lighting. Strange. They split the order. Half hasn't left . The one staged is coming from Eau Claire WI. One due by USPS today coming from Kirksville IA. One line shows I'm shopping from a store in WV. Have to pay an extra fee for shopping where there is no store.

State has stumbled through the vaccine thingy.  Finally looks like they are getting it going.  Controversy over vaccinating inmates before they have done regular law abiding citizens.

Have a good one.

Strange. They split the order. Half hasn't left .

Chief they do that if they have to pull stock from a store to fill the order. Had it happen to me on some tool sets I wanted to get for the grand sons this Christmas. Only showed two left as it ended up they only had one.

Tried to score a Lionel 623 NW2 yesterday off marketplace but was too late. Bang Head

Snow has been on the ground for over a week now, may melt later this week.

Don't you HATE it when that happens?

Two years ago a local shop had a used-as-new MTH Dreyfuss Hudson at a decent price.  I didn't have the money on me but made it back to the shop a day later.  Too late!  It was gone, which really didn't surprise me.

What are you gonna do?

Good afternoon,

It has been raining most of the day here.  We had some unexpected snow flurries early this morning but it turned to rain by 10:00 AM.  I scheduled some time off from work this week to clean up around the garage, but the rain has prevented any work today.  I'm not complaining as I took care of some other odds and ends.

Have a great day,

KEV, just quoted your post with pickup photos.  Said anytime you want to, send to NC as a gift.  Would love to have a pickup like that.

Well, this stupid software kept saying "FORBIDEN". Angry

USPS has not delivered today's mail.  Getting later everyday.  Wanted to use the Menards package in the Train Box.  Got N&W aux. tender coming from IL.  In PO this AM.  Says will arrive Thursday.  We'll see.  Sometimes packages sit in Raleigh at the "plant" for days.

Look at it this way man, you'll get a lot more use out of the Weather-Tech gear than you will out of that NW-2, even if losing that NW-2 still sucks!

Sometimes you have to rationalize these things or you'll go nuts, you know?

Thanks guys.  I knew you were good.

46 degrees and sun coming out.  Had all of .17" of rain over night.  Errands today.  Haircut later.

Menards packages are suppose to arrive by USPS today.  So is my N&W aux. tender.  Yesterday it was 5:10 when one Menards package arrived.  One year ago, you could depend on USPS arriving around 11:30.  If late, no later than 1.

Have a safe and well day.
