No packages. Priority Mail the 10th. Suppose to arrive 14th. Tracking said 14th. Now says it is in route from Raleigh to R'ville [same since the 13th]. Can't get it over the Neuse River I guess. Menards packages in Raleigh 14th. The same as the first package. Now lets see if they come Tuesday. [Monday Fed holiday] Can't finish my Train Box projects without them.

Good evening all,
We had some pretty cold weather this morning and some flurries which turned into hail later in the morning and early afternoon. I was able to complete my DIY pull-up bar and install it on the side of the garage. The wife and Princess are not too thrilled about that project being complete. The boys and I are happy about it. After that, I spent some time cleaning up my tool room. While I was doing these fun things I slow cooked a chuck roast which was delicious. I am enjoying a glass of Amaretto now and will be in bed soon.
Good night,Joe
Morning all
Was 28* when I got up around 5:30 a.m. 31* now.
I have another Williams FM to convert yet. I got in a 224 Navy Alco last night, needs rewiring, then I will see if it works. The middle pick-up wire to the E-unit fell off and was brittle to the touch, The light wire is in the same condition, but I have those so that's just an easy replacement. Want to see if I can get what I have left as in boards ( 1 x 4's ) cut to size and put up on the ceiling so I can see what is still needed. Need to finish removing everything on the 12' x 16' area so once I get the FM converted I can start removing the track. I think the carpet on the table is going to go on the floor where the table was. ( I'll buy more as needed to finish carpeting the floor.) It isn't much of a carpet but at least it better than walking on the cement floor. I might put some padding down first. Well, guess it's time to get moving. Talk to you all later. Hope you all have a good day.
Evenin' gents. We dropped off the youngest princess at college awhile ago. Had dinner at Texas Roudhouse, then a trip to Michael's, before heading back to Fifedom. Alexis seemed very happy to be back on campus, however FifeMax is moping around now.
Picked up some picture frames for various pieces to go in the train room. One of those items is a model train magazine from Norway, in which a B&O shark-nose diesel that I custom painted, wound up as the cover photo. It's been resting in an envelope for 26 years, so I decided to finally display it. Also found a small packet of miniature frogs for the layout. Bud. Wise. Err.
USPS delivered the December issue of a magazine yesterday, with a tear in the cover!

I had a busy Sunday: went for a 4-mile run, watched churhc live stream, went to the Home Depot and the grocery store, and built two floating shelves for the youngest child's bedroom. The older son wanted to make dinner tonight and it turned out good. He has been watching Gordon Ramsey shows/videos and decided to make rack of lamb. I don't think I would have tried making that at 17, but we were too poor to afford it anyway.
Flint, I am sorry to hear of your loss. One does get attached to them. Spent a nice day Saturday with oldest granddaughter. She is very apprehensive about some surgery coming up and I wanted to try and comfort her the best way I could. Not sure if I succeeded, but she got a nice meal if nothing else. I took her to the Speedway Museum and showed the craftmanship that went into even the non-winning cars. I told her that the effort is what matters. If you do your best, you have nothing to be ashamed of, no matter how you do, or what you do in life. Need to spend more time with the grandkids. Swept the floors in the house today so I can binge watch more tomorrow. Snowy here. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Didn't get through all the post but sorry for your loss Flint. Never easy putting down a good dog or any dog for that matter.
Hope everyone is doing well. As for the vaccine, I'll get it when I get it. Lots of folks need it more than I do.

Morning. Chilly start [29] but warming fast [41]. Haven't decided what to do today. Did get all my newer buildings lit yesterday and last night. Will do some older ones if my lighting kits ever get across the Neuse River from Raleigh. Seems the USPS wants to keep them in Raleigh.
Hope all have a great week ahead.
Chief - Perhaps the Raleigh Postmaster is an avid toy train fan...
Things should quiet down here on The North Bluff. Deer season ended yesterday. Lots of them still around, even the three pal Bucks, Bushel basket, Flower pot and now, no rack.
Temps just below freezing keeping the snow cover on the ground. I would rather have it that way than slop.
Flint, sorry about the dog. We have not been able to bring ourselves to replace the last one we lost. As much as we loved them they are a boat anchor when it comes to travel. They need to be watched 24-7 unlike a cat. With the cat we just leave and he is waiting at the door when we get back.
Prayers for those in need. Hope Roy is holding up.

Good Afternoon- Friday night went and did some light shopping for MomOn Saturday, Christmas got put away and the living room and dining room have been vacuumed - need to do the rest of the house after I get home from my meeting tonight.Jenni and I went to a little Mexican Restaurant near by and it was fabulous!! We'll be taking the kids and Mom there Saturday - Mom is a vegetarian and they have a big veggie section so everyone should be good with it. We installed Jenni's old Atari Classic on the TV and played space invaders until after midnight......Sunday we got up to get to my house to start on the train attic and there was no heat - Jenni has a service contract - wee called and found out a switch in the basement was bumped and inadvertently shut off the heat. Lesson learned - we were looking for her gaming system(s) we must have bumped it. So we left the house much later than we wanted to.Spent 4 hours in the train attic - consolidated some stuff and toss a lot of trash - hence there is more room. Need more time to revamp the other half - put up shelves and the ceiling tiles for insulation. Possibly next weekend. Ended the night with crock pot bourbon chicken with honey over rice. Flint - sorry about your bassett hound - that is sadPrayers for Roy!!Busy morning already - back later or when I can
I am the monster in your head...And I thought you'd learn by now, It seems you haven't yet.I am the venom in your skin --- Breaking Benjamin
Thanks 'Devil!
Thanks KRM! But I'll tell you, there WILL be another Basset in our future! They're like Lays potato chips, "You can't have just one!"
We've never considered any of our Bassets an anchor, they're more like a four-foot hairy watermelon! Get one on the bed and they make a great back-warmer too!
And as Doctor Pol says, "A world without dogs would be like a world without air!"
Hi Guys!
Been awhile. Been pretty tired but OK.
Finished off the last radiation treatment this afternoon. I am so done with that. Now on to the followup doc visits for the next year - every 6 weeks with the surgeon and every 3 months with the oncologist. I am OK with that.
Hey - Hormel made their first batch of SPAM in 1937. With current interest, food shortages, and hoarding, Hormel has decided to make a second batch!

Roy You haven't lost a step.
Hello there, should be sleeping but wide awake. Roy...... good to hear from you. Nothing exciting here. Fixed a couple of bad pieces of laminate in the living room. Had to steal them out of the hall. will need a new floor there now. Then started sort'n and chucking. Working on emptying kitchen into living room. It's getting a new floor along with replacing a base cabinet with a dishwasher, adding FRP on the wall behind the stove. Then a fresh coat of paint . Charlie.....looks great!! Prayers for those in need and the end of this pandemic.

Roy great news!
Nothing new going on here. Did some train maintenance and fixed the tub drain in the basement. What an exciting life! LOL!
Take care all and stay safe!
Morning team! A new day!
Morning. 40 degrees and warming. Will go out when it warms up.Bad to be old. Right hand knuckles are stiff from doing the manual labor yesterday. Door down, cut it off on right side so it will close behind lip on the other big door.Roy is a hardheaded Texican. Can't get him down. Guess what? My two packages [Menards and N&W aux water tender] made it across the Neuse River. Guess the pony express finally could ford the river. It has been extra high as lots of rain. Poor Lucy has tummy problems. Woke me up every hour and a half last night to go out. Finally got a solid sleep after 6:30 this morning. Mommy got up and took care of her.Big news. Wake Co. started taking phone and computer vaccine apts. today. Site crashed already. Seems State giverment giving more vaccine to hospitals and CVS than county government. Have to pay them to do vaccinations but County does it for free. We are well over 1 million people in Wake County. State giving us 2,000 this week. Have a good one.
Good Afternoon!Meeting was short - after meeting was longer - admin issues - always something.Had Wawa mac and cheese with shredded chicken and bacon with Italian wedding soup then trotted off to bed.
At times I think my train collection is getting out of hand - nah, not really......lolOff night tonight, we'll see what happens. tomorrow is recycle day so I need to collect that and put it all out frontGlad that portion is done, Roy!!
I have cats - 3 Ferals that we take care of out back and then my daughter's cat and Mom's - 1 of the ferals passed away a couple of months ago. It sucks, they are like family.
Up to 45F and sunny today That's all for now - back to work....
Not much new going on here. The usual workday stuff followed by taking my boys to BWWs for dinner. It's hard to beat buy-one-get-one free traditional wing night with a 10-year-old and 17-year-old.
Good night,
Joe
About 4" inches of snow today, might get to 38F tomorrow.
Went to chiropractor and he pushed a mid-back vertibrae into place.
Tonight's dog walk was bit on the cold side.
Big news is that Simona de Silvestro will be driving a Penske supported car at the Indy 500 this year. The Swiss Miss is truly deserving of this ride and hopefully it will be a full time ride in 2022. Took wife to eye doctor. Thought he was going to do another treatment. Turns out it was just a "check" to see if she "needed" another treatment. Of course she does. Just another way to milk more money from us. Good thing I was not there inside..... $%#&^*(^%$ Weather was sunny for once and I got a lot of errands done. I hope everyone has a good day.
