33 and sunny. High today will be mid 40's. Maybe the deer will move. Last Sat., high 60's.

Wifey off shopping early with sister. Bad. Wiley barked and barked all morning until I got up at 7:30. Was sleeping sound. Lucy next to me in bed. We both were irritated. She climbed in her bed on the den floor and went back to sleep. Mirra still up stairs on a bed. Finn slept on the den couch and finally got up. Animals.

Off to the hunt in a few.

Flint, if the rut is over, they are then buddies.

Howdy, warm for this time of year, 40s and even a 50 before the temps fall on Christmas eve.

Mike I kind of like the Menards cars all having different numbers. That way if you have a long consist of them no two have the same number as it would be with a real train. The problem is they are just decals and tend to fall off. Great cars for the money, I think.

No deer movement at all the last 24 hours? Must be the warm temps. Those two bucks were a big 8 and a small 6 point. Last ones I have seen.

Banks, I hear you on the price of a tractor cab. 5k for an aftermarket even.
Best get on.

Mornin' boys. Cloudy and 31 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Nothing on today's docket. Spent yesterday with FifeMom, and she enjoyed the images of the layouts (W&A/North Pole),thanks to my new I-pad.

My sister and family sent me a video of their Christmas layout, but no train running. I asked her to resubmit with choo-choo. Still waiting.

Oldest princess sent snap-chat of grandsons playing with their Toy Story set. I asked my "docent" to make a video review to share. Still waiting on that as well.

Train room is all neat and clean again, ready for company.

Morning folks!

Sunny and next couple days will be nice and toasty for this time of year. Looks like we will have clear skies for the conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter tomorrow night.

So Texas A&M struggled a bit against Tennessee, as did Ohio State against Northwestern. It is a tossup for who gets the #4 spot - but woe will rule Buckeyeland for the holidays should A&M get the #4 spot...Pirate

No word from DJ since the snowmaggeden last week - hope all is OK?

Afternoon. Rainy and 43. Suppose to stop for a few hours and back tomorrow.   Think we sent more snow north.

Waffles and country style bacon. Watched Church on TV. Now resting and enjoying the day. Probably go to Train Box and do some making jumpers for battery maintainer for feeder batteries. The piggyback connectors came as Amazon promised.

Concerned for friend Fred. We sent to some cameras after dark last night. He was coughing constantly. More of a dry cough though.

Hope all have a great Christmas week. Stay safe and well.

Good evening all,

Adequate weather today.  Was at birthday party for oldest granddaughter's 16th birthday.  Picked up another Firestick for the back room TV so I can watch Youtube videos on a bigger screen.  Kevin, what you said about peelable numbers on Menard cars gives me some ideas.  I may try a few now.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Cloudy [suppose to have sun soon] and 47.

Driving Wifey around on errands.

Yesterday changed as the wind changed.  Ended up riding with SIL, her hubby and Wifey on their shopping trip.  BIL and I sat in car and chatted.  Got home after dark.  Did get a good steak at Longhorn Steak House.

Have a good one.

Good evening all,

Dennis, Firestick is by Amazon.  There are other makers of such devices.  It allows you to stream content from your PC to TVs if you have a wireless router (most people do).  You can also get packages like Hulu, Netflix and others to run over that connection.  The one for my TV is strictly to watch any free stuff that you can watch on the PC on a much bigger screen.  Got my big toe nail worked on today by podiatrist.  It was a good day.  Also finished my last project at work for the year.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Chief - I prefer the snowy landscape, rather than the cold browns of winter.  What you get to see from the train after a snow, is all the old mine trails that covered the nearby hills.  As far as the scenic railroad, hopefully better days ahead.

Afternoon gang! Santa says, "HO HO HO! Just 3 days to GO!"

60's today as yesterday - cold front tomorrow will make temps seasonal - 50's - for Christmas! Can have a fire without turning on the A/C!

Treatment #14 in the books - side effects are starting to gradually add up, but so far so good and confident they will not diminish my energy for the Christmas weekend!

You did not miss much for the "conjunction". Clear skies here - but since it was only observable low in the SW sky from 6-7:15 pm - so not really dark out - before going below the western horizon, it was a brighter "star" than normal, and distinguishable as 2 entities to the naked eye.

Dennis - the firestick once connected to your router via WIFI has apps on it for Youtube. So you can do YT directly - but the navigation/search is clunky using the firestick curser/alphanumerics on the TV screen. Casting from a PC/tablet is a bit easier. The Firestick will also try to get you to use voice commands - but ignore it. I did with no issues. Amazon sells them really cheap at this time of year. And as noted - there is a lot of free content movie/etc. apps on the Firestick - but commercials tend to override the content.

Good evening all,

Work was busy but not overwhelming.  Did go for a walk after work.  Wife lost her wedding ring.  42 years.  Hopefully it will turn up.  Wife also spent 3+ hours shopping for son so he has presents for nieces and nephews.  Lord, what a day.  I also got a call from the track about wanting to know if I plan on getting tickets for the Indy car/NASCAR double header.  I said I would if we could go to the race.  Granddaughter was supposed to have hip surgery today.  Doctor called it off after talking to her and deciding she was not "emotionally ready" to go through with it.  Good grief!  How do you determine such a thing?  It was a day.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Morning all.

Good to see you Roy.

Haven't been checking in much.  A lot of things taking up time.

Dad is in rehab.  Got to stand outside his window for his Birthday.  93 this year.  Seems to be doing OK.  Just need to make sure he keeps doing what is asked of him so insurance doesn't kick him out.  He's tired and sore.  Told him to let them know but ask for other things to do so he's engaged.

If I don't get on before Christmas may all of you have a wonderful Christmas.  Stay safe.

'Twas the night-before-the-night-before-Christmas, and it's sunny and 26 degrees along the Patterson Creek cut-off.

Not a princess was stirring, except FifeMax, whom needed to go outside to torment the birds and squirrels at the feeder.

The Wifey was sleeping all snug in her bed, while visions of Postal and UPS and FedEx trucks pulling up in her head.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, 'tis the trash men on their weekly rounds, so I tipped them $$ along with a little yuletide chatter.

That's all I could come up with...

Merry Christmas Eve Eve -

Busy with work and Christmas - decorating, shopping and all that.  Mom has 2 pumpkin pies in the oven and a pecan pie in the works -

I made the stuffing last night so that will be oven ready on Friday.

I got Dad's 2037 running and under the tree (it hasn't seen track or electricity since 1969 - literally) - as the 1666 couldn't make the call. And that will go in for repairs after Christmas and hope that will finally run as it should.

Mom's house is done and so are Jenni's and the Princess's.

Fife - NICE!!  Prayers for FifeMom.

MartyE - Prayers for your Dad!!

Roy - Prayers for your continued recovery and tolerence of the Radiation!

V8Vega - Enjoy your trip!

Santa's elves made off with my Magnum last night and I got told my the future Mrs. Claus to stay away from the driveway last night....

Chief - Nice photos!!

Back to work -

The drive home tonight from work was a bit hairy, sleet turned to ice pellets and roads turned icy. Most of the 54 mile trip was around 40mph. Halfway through, I stopped in a small town to knock some ice off of the driver's side wiper, and broke the wiper! Fortunately, the nearby gas station had a replacement. Blowing and cold out now, walking the dog (1.5 mile?) was another adventure. Hopefully, the roads, (especially through the bluff country) will be sorted out tomorrow morning for the half day I promised to put in for them. Because of Covid, our parish is having Midnight Mass tomorrow at 5:30pm! God bless us, everyone!

Hey - it's late - well treatment #15 is in the books! I am halfway there! No 16 is on Monday - 4 day break.

Started watching a show/series on Netflix called TURN. About Gen Washington's spies during the Revolutionary War. Incredible show and I am only a few episodes in. Very interesting and like Hell on Wheels - good grounding in history! I am amazed at how much trouble is gone to for accuracy of settings and costuming. I do not know how they can make money on this - the production costs have to be enormous.

Cold front hit hard this afternoon - from mid-60's to freezing tonight and wind is howling! Nice and cold for Christmas so I won't have to run the A/C so Ms. can have a fire in the brick lined hole in the wall in the Living room!

Regards, Roy

Merry Christmas, gang!!

Jenni delivered my Christmas present early - a nice shiney Red Hemi Magnum!!  It was off the road for almost 10 months and it runs and drives......I have the BEST partner, ever!!!  Santa's Elves were busy getting to shift into 2md, 3rd and 4th gears....and still burns rubber....!!!

Off to Manahawkin for the Feast of the 7 Fishes - I'll have pasta with Jenni's niece.  Back here at my house for Christmas day festivities and dinner.  Hope to clean up the Train Attic a bit to show my younger brother.

Fife - yeah - I need to get back to it - so busy during the holidays, it's nuts.  Time to play with trains again!!!  I'll set up the Polar Express under the Princess's tree tomorrow - I'll be there early....10 ish I think.  Appitizers at Noon!!

Have a great Christmas - see you all on Monday or Saturday....depends...lol.

God Bless all of you and your families!!
