Mornin' boys. Cloudy and 36 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Will probably see flurries today, as a robust looking system is spinning at us from Snohizo. There was a lot of snow scenes yesterday through the lens of Virtual Railfan and Railstream.
Waiting for dealership to call, as waiting for a part to change trans fluid. Durango "acting up" in overdrive mode.
Roy - Grand Overseer
Chief - Thanks for the new Pot. November: "bye Felicia!!!"
Anyone hear from Doug/cnw1995? Wonder if he has been checking out the AC-75's?
December already? Wow, amazing how time flys, and in a way it didn't get here soon enough.
Stay strong Roy!
Fife, Doug hangs out at the other forum you have been invited to also join. I'll let him know you been asking about him.
No real plans for today. Hope all have a good day.
Chilly morning here with wind. Will finally freeze tomorrow morning.
All stay well.
Got the call yesterday afternoon. Radiation treatments start Thursday. This places the last treatment on Mon, Jan 18, assuming no delays other than Xmas and New Years Day.
Got fitted for a mask simlar to this. Note they bolt you to the table so you cannot excape. Also got a target tatoo on my chest to make sure the mask is aligned. So now I can claim I am all tatted up!
My view - if the machine blows your head off, they do not have to go look for it - and minimizes cleanup!
edit - cool - 5500th post!

WOW Roy, same thing my good friend David had. We have you in our prayers. This will not be fun, but you are right,,,, if the machine blows your head off, they do not have to go look for it. David went over it all nine years ago. Lost the fight after they removed half of his face. The cancer did not get him he drowned in his own spit one night. Not to be ofencive but most people can't see past their nose, so I thought I would just say. Pray you don't have to go there. What you have is serious sh!t. Hang in there, friend!
Makes me sick that some of posters don't even seem to see past their own noses,,,,JMHO.
Marty, prayers for your dad too.

Good evening all,
Roy, continued best wishes. Another long day at work. Another attempt at a software upgrade...another failure. Just do not understand how a supposedly simple task can disintegrate so badly??? Did some errands for the better half tonight. Weather was supposed to be sunny today but was not. I want to know what happened to global warming. Somebody turned off the hear outside today. Brrrrrr. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,

That's pretty!
I know, talk is cheap, I'm not the one who has to do the shoveling.
Proton beam? X-Ray?
I helped commission the Proton Beam at Mayo (my job wasn't major); interesting equipment.
(P.s. they "bolt" you to the table (couch) because the beam is so precise, any movement could put the treatment off target. And because multiple treatments are needed, it is important the patient is in the same spot for subsequent treatment(s). But you already knew that, didn't you? )
I could go on (and on) about this, but...
Driving home from work, I had to wait for a Canadian Pacific freight train.
As I was trying to decipher the grafitti as each car went by...
The train had an (old, of course) Soo Line caboose (at the end, where caboosii belong)!
I looked, but could not see if the caboose had any occupants.
I'm guessing CP was just transporting it somewhere.
(Nor did I notice if F.R.E.D. was there)
It's been a little cold here also.
You needed a good wetsuit to stay warm in the water.

Mornin' b... Dougnotta - Stop it. Clear and cold, with a light dusting of Snohizo, in the Potomac Highlands. Spent some time in the train room yesterday, and plan to do the same today.
Snip - SOO line. Always liked that white and red paint scheme, as reminiscent of the Western Maryland. The caboose on that train probably indicates that the train needs to make a reversing move, and its safer for the conductor to stand on the rear platform, as opposed to holding onto the side of a freight car stanchion.
It's a thrill to see a caboose on anything, shove move, local freight, you name it.
A freight train just doesn't look right with no caboose, know what I mean? And you can be damn sure any freight on my layout's got a caboose on it!
Finally went below freezing but not that low that long. Strange. Dec. and not freezing at night. 41 now and not as bad a wind chill as yesterday. Had to really bundle up. Was hoarse last night from the cold wind. Blew the leaves and than sucked them up with mower. Looks nice and clean now [for now]. 99% pecan leaves down. Willow oak in front still got leaves. Will till Jan.
Finish outside decorating and run peppers [picked off yesterday before freeze] to Raleigh to my Human Services buddy. She and two of her friends love hot peppers.
NS uses cabooses on trains they have to back into coaling tipples for some distance. As Fifey says, conductor on the back. Has as little whistle on it as they go through highway crossings in reverse.
Have a great day and stay well.

Check it out.
Hello there, Roy......thanks for the update, continued Prayers.Still lots of acquaintances and some cousins down with Wuhan. No luck hunting so far. Haven't been out much.Still busy with winter and Holiday prep. It's time to replace the pressure tank on the farmhouse well, only getting a couple of gallons before the pump kicks on and shortly thereafter off again. The diaphragm has a hole and left the air side fill with water. Bought a new one Monday afternoon. Spent a couple hours today sort'n and chuck'n in the basement and got it down there. Ordered the fittings to install for pickup tomorrow at ACE. If they all show I'll do it tomorrow. Watching Christmas in NYC and the Rockettes, then bed.Prayers for those in need, those affected by the fires, hurricanes and the end of this pandemic.

Well the temps will be back in the 40s today so the snow will be gone by tonight for the most part.
Talked to dad last night and he's doing well. Getting some PT so he says. Without being there I can't confirm.
Good thoughts out to Roy. A road ahead of you for sure but lots of support.
Everyone stay safe.
Mornin' boys. Sunny & 36 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Did some more mountainside painting yesterday, and finished scenicing the cemetary. Found some old dowels, and fashioned a pole load for my AF 911 gon. Wifey and Alexis are working on a Diamond Art Millenium Falcon for the baby's room (SIL big Star Wars fan). Attended my first BoD meeting last night for the local chapter.
Chief - Thanks for heads-up. I met Mr. Wrinn, and he is a very enthusiastic supporter of the project. Nothing new to report out of Ridgeley.
Check out Virtual Railfan(youtube), go the camera at Ft Madison, IA. The riverfront park has a holiday light display up, and it's cool to watch after dark.
Finally got a freeze and frost. About time. 25 and now 42.
Off to the hunt down east.
Pondering the sale of 31 acres of timber. Good price but not the best. Waiting for call from CPA. She may be the game changer. Don't have to sell. Will really not mess up my hunting as plenty more woods to hunt. It is the oldest timber. 40+ years old.
Fifey, he's from NC and grew up with N&W and L&N.
Hope all are well and stay safe.
Lots to get. Trying to avoid all the fools in the stores that think a mask is only used to protect their chin.
Prayers for Roy and Marty’s dad and anyone else in need.
Banks we had to replace our pressure tank last year, it was only 14 years old.
Was thinking about going north to help Mark on the cabin till he said his son had been there deer hunting a few days ago only a week after having Covid so No way at least for another week.
Got permission from my step Uncle to start giving away all of those RTR sets of his I have stored in the basement. We will wrap them for the grand kids and put his name on them as the giver. Maybe they will want to know who their great step uncle is then?
Good morning all!
Off in a few for my first proton 'enrichment' (Snip - I think it is proton?). Maybe I will come out as Superman or Spiderman? More likley as "Supperman"!

Considering that rig they're going to suit you up with you might wind up looking like Maria the Robot from that old silent sci-fi film "Metropolis!"
Stay stong and hang tough Roy!
Happy Thursday, just a quick drop by....
Tuesday had a meeting with my boss and we'll let that slide, afterwards I went to Urgent Care, then by EMS to the hospital for Kidney Stones - yeah, it hurt - still does. Spent the day there. Took yesterday off to sleep and pee......lol
Small potatoes compared to Roy - Your radiation suit looks pretty cool - you could also be Radioactive Man...... prayers for your healing.
Prayers for MartyE's Dad and FifeMom....and anyone else I may have missed.
Hope to be back in the swing tomorrow, have an appointment with Jenni at the church, clean her car out and then get the tree at the FD. Should be interesting.
Lionel Train Day on Saturday - I'll be going to Trains and Things for sure!!
That's all from Central NJ. Back when I can.

Good evening from a cloudy 35°F Southern Ohio,
Ready for the weekend. Still busy at work and plugging along on the kitchen redo. Kids want to start decorating so we’ll start that soon.
Roy – Wow, is right! You’re continually in my prayers
Spank – The storage you added is impressive
Rich – Hope the stones come out ok
May God bless you and you families
Jim
Another busy day at work. Lots of conference calls and training. Not the best time of year to do this. Wife stayed another night at her sister's so it was quiet at home. Most cloudy today. I hope everyone has a good day.
Mornin' boys. Overcast and 36 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Visiting with FifeMom today. I will decorate the tree for my folks. More progress in train room, including another Kinkade inspired scene. Will post some pics on SPF.
anjdevil - Hope you're feeling better.
Partly cloudy and 54. Did not freeze last night. Banana tree leaves show that the freeze did hit. About time. Rain tonight but gone tomorrow early. Not much on agenda. Seems good. Trip north to Louisburg for stuffed sausage for my adopted Daughter. Her family gobbled it all down while she was down there during Thanksgiving. Grab me a fried tenderloin biscuit at Biscuit Station there. UMMMMM May try getting some turnip greens [cooked] at Carley C's there too.Hope all have a happy and safe day.
