Flintlock - Ever since I was in grade school.  I had binders and folders with the STP Dodge emblazoned on them.  Got to spend a day with him on a security detail, and enjoyed a private conversation.  As genuine as they come.

Good morning. Sunny and warming up. Got leaves to get up. Not in a hurry. Thing is, hasn't frosted or frozen so lots of pecan leaves to fall. When it does, they come down in a hurry. Nice thing is, if dry, easy to blow and they mulch into fine dust. Just is a dusty and messy lawnmower ride over them. Then off to the garden to dump.

Have a good one.

Mornin' boys.  Sunny and 43 in Wild, Wonderful West Virginia.  Finished taking down Halloween, and may tinker around in the train room today.  My stockyard is shaping up, slowly.

Get ready to hand those "crumbs" back in...Whistling

anjdevil - With that crew, it would be a fun train to ride on, to be sure.

Worked hard.  Finished at 2 and got paid 8 hours.

Warmed up.  Fred at farms.  Bucks chasing does.

I trust NO ONE in government, especially in New Jersey.......

It's sad.

I was on nj.com looking at a New Jersey election map from 2016, you know, one of those "What candidate won in your town?" kind of things. Interesting, to say the least.  You know, if NJ had an Electoral College like the Constitution prescribes for the presidential election your governor and his minions would have been history long ago.

I won't say the ones running Virginia are untrustworthy, not at all, they're just not too bright.  At least the current crowd isn't.

Mom oowrks the polls and was told anyone that is not disabled will be handed a provisional ballot.  Trust me, I feel that same or even angrier than you on this point.

Good Morning

48F right now and STILL breezy - enough already.......

Since I had the brilliant idea of attaching stakes to the tombstones, NONE have flown away, broken, ect., the errant plastic pumpkin had dropped to the ground off a tree and the ghost took a temporary flight off of the same tree, but almost ZERO mishaps on the Halloween display.  That will be put away Saturday.

Shopping last night was a success because I stuck to the list and was home by 930

Will run to Jenni's tonight to wrap up her A/C unit - cold air was pouring into the bedroom, so that will be the mission tonight.

Tomorrow is Mercer County Fireman's Association Memorial Service - and prior - nominations of 2021 office.  This will be, hopefully, my last as Vice President and 2022 will be my first as President of the association for 3 years, I hope......lol.

Warm up for the weekend - which would have been great riding weather, if the idiots in Philly hadn't cancelled the Toy Run....bunch of fools....

Voted and put my ballot in the box by my firehouse Thursday, Jenni did hers and by her local firehouse on Sunday.  Our Overlord deemed it "too dangerous" to vote in person.  Such is life in Socialist New Jersey, we've been under lock down since March and he wants to crush us even more.

MikeC - That is AWESOME news!!!!

Fife and Buckeye - Conductors and with DonB running the train, we could have LOTS of fun....yeah, ok, I'll be the fireman.....lol!!

Prayers continue for Fife's nephew and Roy

That's all from Sunny Central Jersey - back later

Yep I'll vote in person.  Too many weird things happening with mail in ballots.

Green tea in the mug.  Work awaits.

Off to the polling place later today.  I'm gonna sweat out the line if there is any, no mail-in or drop-box for this kid.  If a lot of good guys over the decades could face enemy bullets so I could exercise my right to vote I can certainly face a "bug."

Fife, Condolences to the family for the loss of a family member, parents are not supposed to outlive their children. That also pretty much applies to aunts & uncles as well.

Halloween was fun but not near as many ghouls & goblins visited us. Probably about 50% of previous years, lots of Welch's Fruit Snacks left.

Unless something happens I'll be at the museum next Saturday, originally scheduled runner had to fly by East for a family emergency. To late for Halloween trains and to early for   trains.

Good evening all,

First of all, Fifedog, my condolences on your family loss.  Someone so young....  I do have some good news.  Wife had a checkup and doc said she could resume normal living (was on a restricted activity list since the operation), and we still have to do an eyedrop regimen for the next 4 weeks.  Wife is very relieved and we thank you all for the prayers and support.  Got some more uncoupling tracks today and MR and TRAINS arrived as well.  Weather still cold.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good Afternoon

49F Cold and windy right now -

Friday did a little work in the train attic, kept Smurf the Cat happy.

Saturday was errand day, and then, at the last minute, the fog machine broke - go figure......dressed up as Gomez and Mortisha and no trains were harmed......the modest size party we were going to was paired down to us and the hostess.  Dinner and a movie and were were home by 1130.

Sunday was another day running around, did get more done in the train attic, dinner and ZombieLand 2 - which was very funny.

It's supposed to warm up later in the week - 70s?  That would be nice....

Time change sucks - did sleep in yesterday which was nice.  Up too early and fed the ferals - then watched TV until it was punch in time at 0930.....

Brent - I said thepractically the same thing. at one point or another.....lol

Fife - Prayers for the Nephew and the family - too young...

Prayers for Roy - thanks for the update, Banks....

Back later.............

Hello there,

passing on news Roy shared via text.

Doing ok. Good days and bad days. Yesterday was a good day. Today is a bad day. Lotta nerve pain from the surgery. Most of the right side of my neck and right ear.

Finally was able to eat some food last night and today that was not puréed. Most of the right side of my neck and right ear are numb/no feeling. Doc says it should regain feeling in 6 mos to a year.

Thanks again for your positive prayers and thoughts!

Mornin' Fellas

Halloween was fun. The neighborhood did a trunk-or-treat for the kids, and one of the neighbors set up a biergarten for the older kids. Lots of fun! Our neighborhood is a good representation of what America represents. A lot of immigrants, both resent and long time. One of our neighbors just became a US Citizen and she was stoked to be voting for the first time (what it is all about). Well Sunday we had a post on our FB group, someone put up a nasty sign along the main road in one of our community member's yard. So burned out with people acting like this... it isn't needed or necessary these days. Spent yesterday watching the game with TheQ, we had more fun making fun of Tony Romo's commentary than anything else. LOL

Rich - thanks for the compliments on the kids. They are awesome, but there are moments that make you go "And I paid to do this..." Laugh

Banks/Fife - sounds like a good time! Definitely need to make it up there one of these days, and sooner rather than later.

Fife - sorry about the news on the nephew's passing. So young! Our prayers and condolences. Broken Heart

Prayers for Roy! Like Fife I want him around here for a long, long, long time to come!

Anyone seen/heard from Buckeye? Did Chief take him hostage again?

Good Morning. Chilly and windy. Slow getting going. Waiting for the warm up that is not going to be that great. Need to pick all the peppers I can, paint the shelter doors and trim I did yesterday and get up leaves.

Wifey off to the shop to decorate for Christmas.

Work tomorrow.

Special prayers for Fifey and the family.

Mornin' boys.  Blowin' and snowin' in the Potomac Highlands.  Need to head to my local garage for yearly WV inspection, and a new battery for the Dodge.  Original battery has lasted 7+ years; not too shabby.

Got to chat with Banks up at the Altoona show yesterday.  Always good to see him.  Picked up a flat with construction vehicle for the curly-top, and some odds and ends for the layout.  Appeared that half the vendors who reserved tables didn't show.

Horrible news Saturday, as Wifey's 19 year-old nephew perished in a motorcycle crash.  The girls are distraught and numb.  His mother is unconsolable.  Broken Heart

Morning all.  Green tea in the mug.

Got a dusting last evening.  53 wehn I walked the pups at 3pm in a wind storm.  By 7pm it was 32.

As far as the virus goes I get that people, the ones less likely to be afftected, are tired of the BS.  I am too.  I still wear my mask when asked to but I'm pretty much over it.  While the cases are increasing the death rates are continuing to drop so there's that.

Anyways all stay safe and keep the rubber side down.

Good evening from a clearing 39°F Southern Ohio,

This was my off weekend so I only had one Mass this weekend.  I woke up at the regular time so it was still dark.  I finished installing the new range hood.  It took longer than I anticipated and I needed to cut another exhaust vent hole but it looks pretty good.  Then painted the kitchen ceiling and the new drywall from removing the cabinet soffits.

It was a pretty day but very windy.

Flintlock – Way to step up and take one for the team!

May God bless you and you families

You know something man?  Reading the papers and watching the TV and internet news sources and seeing the new spikes in COVID counts both here, in Europe, and other places I don't think the isolations, lock-downs, and close-downs have done one bit of good.  Maybe I shouldn't say that, but it seems to me the thing won't go away until there's a preventative vaccine or it runs out of people to infect.  Kind of like the Spanish Flu of 100 years ago, which was even worse than what we have now.  Enough of that.

On a lighter note, we didn't have anywhere near the Halloween turn-out this year as we normally do, certainly due to COVID.  As such, we've got a lot of candy left over to "dispose" of.  It'll be a tough job, but we'll manage somehow!  Wink  Big Smile

Yes, Flint, the 2nd wave of the Spanish Flu hit 6 months after the 1st wave, and it was far deadlier.  I think we are seeing that happen again.  A vaccine was never developed for the Spanish Flu, and this is one of its decendants.
Maybe people are just tired of all they are being told what to do.
The China Flu has been quite a trip, so many mistakes were made in the initial hysteria, and that I'm sure has gotten folks fed up with public (over)reactions, such as "a person walking alone on an empty beach getting arrested for not wearing a mask".
And all the politics behind much of the official reactions.
People no longer(?) trust the government and the media to give them accurate information, and are just doing what they feel like.

We had about 11 of the little extortionists show up for treats last night, probably about normal.
We offer each little beggar a choice between candy or a box of Mac 'n Cheese.  Middle school boys LOVE Mac n' Cheese!

Even with many people afraid to go to church because of the virus there still is a huge crowd. People from other churches that are closed come to our church.

Good morning.  Chilly light rain.  Slept the extra hour.  I set clocks before going to bed.

Guess we are going to FIL's house and Wifey paint the final coat on the wall I built and trimmed.  Hope this is it.

Son and DIL say they hear riots Tuesday night and Wed. no matter how the elections goes.  Time to bust heads.

Hope all have a good week.
