Thanksgiving isn't changing for us as it's always just us and the kitties, but it just doesn't feel like Thanksgiving's this year.
On another forum, a member asked what are you thankful for this year,
To be alive is the first thing
Have a loving wife that puts up with my crap.
Have a nice home and food on the table
I think they're the top things on my list.
How about you all
Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends here on CTT.

Morning. Chilly 55 by now. Cooked hot sausage patties and biscuits with OJ to drink.
Errands and chores. Train Box and put new husky stack on the track. My "supplier" is a relocated Yankee. His daughter from LA area is here helping him. We chatted a lot. Seems he has it all but disorganized. She is trying to help with that. Why sometimes he ships one item and then later gets to ship the other item I asked for. Great guy. She says they are real busy so that is good.
We found out why I was having door lock problem with 97 Chevy. Power locks and key fob would not unlock and lock doors. Key felt like it was going to break to open. Driver's side lock switch was rubbing the trim. Holding it in the locked position. A little WD40 and it releases. Later, body shop guy is going to remove door panel and we'll adjust.
Hope all have a great Thanksgiving. Wifey going to bake today.
Stay well and safe.

Morning all
iPads are fun but remember to put it down once in a while. LOL!
Not much new with dad. He's doing fine but sounds a bit depressed. Can't say I blame him. 8 residents have passed in that home and over 1/2 are sick in one stage or another. I'm very thankful so far he seems to be riding this out.
Dreary next few days but warmer temps.
I probably won't be on much next few days so if I don't log in before have a great and safe Thanksgiving.

Mornin' boys. Mostly cloudy and 35 in the Potomac Highlands. Will be headed to Prego Princess palace in a bit to help move a fridge.
Had a nice visit from FifePup and his fiance'. They gave me my Christmas gift early; Apple iPad. It's gonna take me a while to figure out the features, but I was just happy to get some video footage of the layout. Mainly, he bought it for me so we can face-time. Dropped them off to his Aunt, then I went and scooped up Youngest Princess from college. We supped on bbq wings and crab dip fries, at a local pub.
Focus on happy, when you can.
Hello there, Started this last night but crashed.
Marty.....Prayers for dadRoy......thanks for the update, continued Prayers. Chief........nice bear.Wuhan is rampant here. Grandkids are on virtual learning til further notice. Several acquaintances have it. Mrs and I stocked up last week with the plan of avoiding stores for a while. With much chagrin we've decided to forgo the clan gathering for Thanksgiving. Been reading without taking time to reply. Looked for my last post and found it on Veterans Day, time flies. Been busy with winter and Holiday prep. Grandson was here Saturday helping to gather leaves.Mrs' bum knee is slightly improved. Prayers for those in need, those affected by the fires, hurricanes and the end of this pandemic.

dougdagrumpOh wait a minute, you live in Virginia not Georgia.
Quite true, but when the Devil went down to Georgia he must have gone through Virginia. Why do I say that? Well, just north of here there's a Route 666!
Say, how'd you folks like to see our latest club newsletter? I'm going to blow my cover and admit I'm in it, last group of three photos, I'm on the left with the Atlas catalog.

I get where you're comin' from! I don't have any scotch around but I DO have a bottle of "Virginia Gentleman" bourbon. It's so good one doesn't want to spoil it with a splash! And since I'm not driving anyway...
AFternoon all.
Well dad is back at the assisted living. He will need PT to get his strength back and get moving again but hopefully the worst is over.
Good to see Roy posting. Continued good thoughts for Roy!. You got a road ahead of you but it sounds like you are headed in the right direction.
Temps will be moderate here for TG. Looks like it;s just me and the kids for dinner which is fine.
I hope everyone stays safe and many thanks for the well wishes for dad. It is really appreciated!

Good Morning!!Birthday party for Jenni's nephew went very well, Jenni's sister served us steak and potatoes and we had cake afterwards. Was home by 1130.One of our ferals has probably died, she was sick but we couldn't catch her. She was lethargic Sunday night and I haven't seen her since. The cat vet said unless we trapped her, there was nothing she could do. and we still have 3 full time and 1 part time cats here. I'll look for her later today.Today, we'll be getting the ornaments from the attic and a few other items for the tree and try to stage them in the living room and vacuum the kitchen and living room then mop the kitchen. Mom has the ham marinating now, I'll prep the turkey tomorrow night.Sunny and 50 today.
Prayers for Marty's Dad and Roy.
That's all from here, check back later

Well, Lady Firestorm and I aren't going anywhere this year. Usually we head up to Pennsylvania to my sister-in-law's for a visit with her delightful family, a great meal, and then on Friday a trip to Lansdale for a raid at Henning's Trains. Needless to say the plague's ruined that plan this time around.
So on Thursday we're doing something different. Since we have turkey fairly often I'm barbequeing chicken drumsticks for the wife and some quarter-pound burgers for me. Nothing like hot charcoal on a chilly day anyway!

Morning. Near freezing earlier. 49 now. Errands to run today. Lots of driving. Unload truck of power tools in front passenger floor. Recharge batteries.Unload 2X6's not used.Virus setting records in NC. Gov not backing down on phase but issuing orders on mask mandate. Businesses and etc. have to require all customers to wear or get fined. If don't comply, shut down for three days in a row. This is especially for private schools. Some private schools have defied the mask and social distance rules.Have a great and safe day.

Good afternoon - Saturday got the Christmas trees off the truck and set up the selling area. After that it was clean up day at the house, and it is cleaner - I have to vacuum later in the week, but it's ready for guests. Saturday night was a nightmare at a local diner now pub(!) overspent on mussels and a burger ($60!). No movie on Saturday - was too tired. Was up early Sunday, got the Ethan Allen chair for Jenni ($1.15 at auction) and got it up in the train attic after much finagling......but it's up there and she loves it. Tried to put a new light fixture in the bathroom and SURPRISE! the box isn't secured to anything....WTH? The fixture is up, I'll have to fix that on Saturday.....oy...the future SIL helped me, so it was all good.Did some shopping for Mom and us, the Christmas tree is up and lit with new LED lights and ready to have the family decorate it on Thanksgiving Day while I cook. Got Jenni's laundry done for her while napping and was home by 1230 ish.Mom and my sister are at U of Penn for her cardiologist all is going well.Good to see you, Roy - Prayers for your quick healing and recovery
Continued prayers for your Dad, MartyE
Chief - that is some big bear right thereBack to work

So good to hear from you Roy. It will be long and hard, you of all people can do it. Thanks so much for checking in. Prayers for the good fight!!!!
Enjoy the holidays and may GOD bless bud!

Roy - You'll have our each step of the way.
Bless you Roy, and stay strong!
Afternoon guys!
First time since Oct 18 that I feel somewhat decent. Actually slept about 8 hrs straight last night for first time since prior to the surgery.
I have been fitted for the fixture/mask that holds my head and upper torso (screwed down) to the table for the radiation treatments. They marked the fixture and tattooed a dot in the middle of my chest to align the fixture to (ouch!). So now I can honestly say I am all tatted up!
My days are a series of doc and PT appointments (neck and pinched nerve in right shoulder), but next week I get Wed - Fri off! PT will be twice-three times a week depending on how I am doing. I am waiting for them to call and say when the radiation treatments start. I have been told that about 3 weeks in it will get pretty rough and eating will be very difficult again. Should be done with radiation by mid-Jan and by mid-March I will start to feel better. Long road - hope no one ever has to endure this!
Things all set here for our immediate family only (5 of us) Thanksgiving dinner. Even with that I will be wearing a mask to further hope I do not catch anything, whether it be a cold, flu, or the COVID.
Felt good enough yesterday to go out and start the El Camino - not started since the week prior to my surgery. Started right up but unfortunately the AC would not kick on. Cannot find any signs of a leak (oil stains). Did some further static alignment on the electronic QJet rebuild in prep for trying it on the El Cam. If next week goes well health wise I will try to bolt it on, try to start it, and also pull out the A/C gauges.
Thank you for all the positive thoughts and well wishes - it is greatly appreciated!
Regards, Roy
Marty sure keeping him in my prayers. I hope this time he can stay out of the hospital.
Morning all.
Been messing around with the temp layout to make it more of a layout than trains on a board.
Dad is supposed to be released again tomorrow so that sounds promising. Haven't gotten a lot of information this time around. Thanks for the support.
Stay safe evveryone!
Good Evening,
We got our outside Christmas decorations up! No problems, and with Chris' help they were done in no time. Even had a Smog test done, fixed a couple of weed eaters, and packaged some stuff to send to Kay's distant relatives that was at her Mom's house.
We will be having a small Thanksgiving celebration, just the 3 of us. Heck that's about all the relatives we have. (Kay's brother lives close but they never come around anyway.) Will talk with my brother (in Reno) if not before definetly by Thanksgiving.
Then we will be moving Chris from his apt to the house Kay's parents had. So that's a win win for everyone. Going to have to get some tax advice, moreso for next year than this year. Just don't want to get blind sided and need to find out our best options to be preparred.
Yep, I remember the trip at Kev's place, not only did he give me a tour of his property in the Gator, but the local area as well. Lots of interesting scenery, history, and attractions. I REALLY enjoyed it. Kevins place is set up really neat as well, lots of great "guy toys". Being raised in a relatively rural area, it seemed very familiar to me. Especially the friendlyness of the Bar/Cafe we had lunch in.
Chief, that is some huge bear! Wouldn't want to run up to that some night!
Epect we will have a curfew in place before the week-end is over. The Covid numbers are still rising here. From what I hear the stores are packed, people are worried about no dinning places available. Lots of people are upset regarding personal restrictions, I can't help think about the homeless and young families trying to just survive. Sure hope things start to turn around SOON! 2021 has GOT to be better!
Think I'm going to relax and get my feet up. So take care ALL and be safe!
Don
Thanks KRM!
Thanks Chief! And I'd guess the pelt is nice and warm too once it's dressed.
Flint, yes they are tasty.
Grouchy, you think about that when walking in a half a mile into the woods about an hour before daylight or coming out after dark. They usually don't hang around. Just don't get between mom and cubs. Afterall, carrying a big bore rifle. Would be as fast shot. Loaded and ready going in and coming out. Plus, have on a cap light.
Per trail cameras, 3 more out there. Usually at feeders around midnight to 2 AM.
They got Yogi but watch out for a vengeful BooBoo.
