Few drops of rain finally. 75 degrees.  Getting ready for our ceremony at Vets' memorial. Rain or shine. Very short. After that, who knows???

Special thanks to all vets.

Morning all

Marty glad to hear your father is doing well, not sure if my father was alive today or this happened when he was alive, that anyone of my brothers or I could actually take care of him at home.

Prayers continue for Roy.

Morning all.

Dad is still doing fine.  No fever, eating and drinking.  The assitant living where he was is going down fast.  They are now asking residents to be sent home with family.  Oh Boy.

Everything else is well.  Hope everyone has a great day.  We had some thunder boomers this morning after an absolutely beautiful day yesterday.  I refused to re-energize the AC.  LOL!

Stay safe everyone.

Good evening all,

Last nice day for a while.  I mulched again because I could and hopefully only one more tree has leaves to get rid of after this.  Raining right now.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good Evening,

Boy has it been cold here, got down to LOW 40's!!  And, we have had some significant winds!  It took me about 3 hrs today to clean up all the leaves and small branches.  After all that work I came in side and hooked up one of those inexpesnsive antenna's to the TV.  It picked up 160 stations, that's a lot.  (We already have Spectrum, but there was a couple of stations not offered that we like.)  So I spent the better part of the evening filtering out the non-english and shopping networks.  Now we have 22 stations instead of 160. Indifferent

Kay, is doing really well, a lot bettere than I thought she would have.  We still have a lot of stuff to pack up, current plan is to have an Estate sale in the spring.  Timing would be better.

In the mean time I'm reorganizing our weight room/library with all the media we inherited.  A lot of VHS and cassettes.

BTW, guys if I may, I have met a lot of the people on this forum, and have NOT found anyone that would not get along well with each other, once they have actually met each other.  This form of communication is very difficult at best.  All we see are "words" and don't have much in the way of context or personal interaction.  I have always assumed that some people protect their identity because THIS is a public forum, AND we are talking about trains, which maybe expensive.  And don't want to broadcast what we may have at our homes.  It is pretty easy for a "regular" participant can identify any of the "regular" participants.  Even those who close and re-open a new account, at one time I even opened an account here in the name of one of the Charter member's pet dog.  It was done as a prank, but ultimatlly figured out.  No Big Deal.

So lets just have fun and enjoy the interaction while we can.SoapBox

Prayers for Roys recovery.

Be Safe and Stay Healthy..... Take Care!

So why does it bother you if someone put Tom Jones whether it be their actual name or not or lionel collector or any other name?

the BS is you so worried about what someone's name is. And originally I been on this site longer than you. Please note I said originally. I came to this site back in 2007

You were gone for almost a month and all was calm here, you come back for two days and all H has broken out because of your BS. No wonder you have been banned from another forum.

Just my point, Easy to be hidden and call out someone else, ain't it.   Smokey whoever.

You seem to know plenty about the past and that other forum of like minded ones.

So where is the BS coming from?

Like Fiife said long ago. This is my sandbox and I am going to be here. Go back to the click spooner's forum if it bothers you. I don't care. I am not the one being ofensive here, seems it is you and other school children acting grown ups to me??

 I am not hiding.

OGR doesn't "require" a photo, the stipulation is that if you use a photo in your avatar it has to be a photo with you in it. No cartoons, caricatures, etc.

Some have reasons to be Annonymous, that isn't your or mine or anyone else's business.

My question on that is WHY on a toy trains forum. OGR makes everyone use their picture to post. Last I knew. maybe they got a good reason.

You realy got a good reason for no one to know who you are?????

Boy people can get sensitive over just their name.

Gee, there must be at least 6 on this page alone that doesn't state their name, I bet if you asked they would be glad to tell you. Maybe in P.M. but would. Some have reasons to be Annonymous, that isn't your or mine or anyone else's business.

Don't seem to be able to post with a paste so this is a test.

Here we go?

Good afternoon,
I think this is the last of the crazy 70s days in November for us. Winter is coming in the next few days. Like Mike I did leaves today and when I was finished it already looked like I did nothing. Bang Head Flintlock, I do the same with mulching but only at the end of the year. I do leaves forr most every day around six weeks. I am sick of it by now.
The nut jobs I see are hard at work keeping the bulk of us divided I see. Even as most would rather not be there.
Most here have always been willing to give their name to their pseudonym, my pseudonym is KRM,,,Kevin Ray Myers this way I don’t have to hide or troll.  Wink
Marty, God speed for your dad. This will pass, just hope we can all make it.
Frank, to tell you the truth, I don’t know how the Gator will do with the snow….But I got a 4,500# winch that will save me from anything stupid I may get into, and that will happen!!!!.   Smile, Wink & Grin

Just came in from raking and leaf-shredding, cooling down a bit before I hit the shower.  I don't bag leaves, I rake 'em out on the lawn and let the lawn mower's muching blade chop 'em up!  It's surprising how quickly they break down and get absorbed into the lawn when you do that.

Now I'm ready for "The Great WHOOMPH!"  What's that you say?  That's when the maple in the front yard drops all its leaves at once!  Happens every year.  Holds 'em forever and then WHOOMPH!  All over the lawn!

Out to the Chugger Barn after showering to do some prep for the show this weekend, going to try and unload some stuff I don't use for some stuff I CAN use.  That's assuming there's no COVID panic and they shut us down again.  Twice this year already.  Groan.

Good Morning!!

MartyE - that's great news!!

Smokey1 - Looks Good!!!

Spanky - ah, HOA boards.............Bang Head

Up to 70 - 75 today - should be the last of the nice days for a while - I have a firehouse meeting tonight, I think I'll be on the bike.

Did some shopping for the cats so they have food for the next couple of weeks.

For some unknown reason the paper guy delivered the NY Times - I thought we had plenty of toilet paper in the house......

OK off to work - back later

Expansion looks good.  Always a good day on the RR when you gain more real estate!

Dad still doing well.  He's on low oxygen but other wise no fever and staying put in bed.  Thanks for all the good wishes.  If he stays this way with very minimal symptoms I will consider ourselves very fortunate.  The stress on me I must admit is a bit overwhelming.

Everyone else stay healthy.

morning all.

Fife because of what I saw with other family members I decided to quit drinking about 35 years ago. Every once in a while ( like every 4 to 10 years ) I'll have a beer lol. So my mini-fridge has bottle water or Power ade no sugar. ( I'm diabetic )

Been working on my train expansion. I got the fridge where I want it and got the top board over that area. Here is where I'm at right now. I have a lot of cleaning up to do. Can't get carpet until next week as there calling for rain for the rest of the week.

the long area is going to have 6 track freight yard, the section going to the left will house my transfer table.

Good evening all,

Was mulching leaves today.  Nice to be able to wear short sleeved shirt and shorts in November.  Most of the leaves are down.  May be able to wrap this up before Thanksgiving.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Just a small update, Dad is eating and they reduced his oxygen supply.  He's responsive, vitals are good, and he's complaining about the cold coffee.

Thanks for all the support!  It means a lot.

Well, Hey!! Happy Monday ---

Welcome Back, Roy, nice to see you posting - prayers for your to healing continue.

Happy Birthday, Brutus!!!

Fife – I would but I still need to be here with Mom, for the immediate future……

MartyE – Prayers for your Dad
Beautiful weather this weekend - it was top down all day every day.

Halloween is back in the attic - my BIL and Sister were here to trim the hedges and do some light yard work, which I assisted after getting Halloween put away.  Spent Saturday night and Sunday with Jenni, we were out and about doing errands and enjoying convertible weather - I wanted to take the bike, however, with the things we needed to get and drop off, that would have been impossible.  It did hit 80 (!) while we were getting out convertible sun tan.

Same weather on tap of today, however, I have to sit and get abused for work.  Fortunately, I will not be doing dispatch of work as I was last week.

Next weekend will be starting on Jenni's basement so we can start building a layout.

Back to work - check back later!

MartyE

Morning all.

Long weekend.  Dad was admitted to the hospital with Covid on Friday.  So far it's been relatively mild so we're hoping for the best.  He was in an assistant living facility that stayed clean for 8 mos. and then bam!, it's going around now.

Stopped at Mercer Junction on Saturday to see Dave and visit before he closes.

Pretty much been hanging low since Friday.

Stay safe everyone.

Prayers for your Dad.

Morning all

I added this piece to give me a 4' x 12' expansion Saturday evening ( already had a 4'x4' piece there ) Yes S.J. I had a table under where this was going so had to put everything temporarily on the train table and make a mess of it. It will come down once I feel this section is strong enough to handle me on it. (( I still need at least two more legs and one cross beam )

Originally I was thinking of adding another piece beside it to give me another 4' x 8' section but ultimately decided to go this way instead, and put the transfer table down there, on the board above once I get carpet on it, I will have a 6 track freight yard.

The little boxed off section will be where my mini-fridge will go. I hope to cut the sheet of plywood today and get it up there and finish the area for my mini-fridge. And then start cleaning the place up LOL. So I have my work cut out for me today.

Hope all have a good Monday.
