Good afternoon!!

Happy Birthday, Dennis!!

Hey, Brent!!

Fife - EMS and nurses/Docs - Can't say enough good things (My eldest niece is an oncology nurse).

Sun and up to 65 today, slight breeze.  Gas a $2.03/gal regular and it would be under $1.70 if it wasn't for those greedy ba$tards in Trenton.

Michigan refunded my my $25 for applying for my Mechanic's Licence, surprisingly.

Finished shopping, finally, but still needing napkins, but there are none to be had.  Got the ham as well.

Ran to Manahawkin, brought Jenni's bike home.  Her Mom and Dad served dinner and had a little family time.  It was nice, got home at 11.

Looking to get the specs for the LionChief barrel connector for the Fastrack.  I can't seem to find it anywhere, it's driving me nuts(Special Project - lol!)

I'm getting all the wiring I need and the .110 connectors for the drops so I can get the bus wiring done, hopefully this week.  Amazon has everything in stock  - I was hoping to get the barrel connector in this order, maybe next order.  Really want to get this done before it gets way too hot up there.  The A/C project I wanted to get up there is on hold because of this virus nonsense.  My paycheck is gonna look like crap after this is over.  As an aside, my car club meet in Rhode Island has been cancelled until next Memorial Day Weekend.

Zoom fire department meeting tonight, I have to do the bills before 7, I should have time to do that.  Picked them up after we got home last night.

That's all from here - check back later if possible - need that bike ride today since we skipped yesterday.

I am the monster in your head...And I thought you'd learn by now, It seems you haven't yet.

Good morning all,

Spent hour and a half adding an uncoupler track to portable layout.  Maybe 10 to 15 minutes actually connecting the track and the wiring and the rest of the time sorting thru stuff for the track, the wire, and the push button switch.  Also was getting wire and lock on to upgrade the wiring on said layout.  Every once in a while I get a five minute job that takes 5 minutes but that was not one of them.  Did pick up a pizza on the way home.  Tasted really good.  Weather is nice and warm today.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Morning.  73 and warming fast after a foggy morning.  Guess I will go north to FIL's again.  Wasting my time.  Got chores here to do.  Need to go to farm and spray around camper and barns.  Seems some folks thinks going to FIL's is all folks have to do. Wifey beginning to feel the same way.

Enjoy the day.

Good morning from a sunny and heading to 80 North Bluff.

TKS Fife, I thought they would be a fun addition to it.

Well the wifey had a list of things she wanted to get from Walmart.

So I tried the senior hour at Walmart this morning. Nope, WON"T DO THAT AGAIN!  No

It was just stupid. Had to get up at 5:30 to get to Ottawa around 6:00 and got there about five after. Then they have only one set of doors to go in or out. So they line everyone up like cattle to get into the store. Then everyone is all in the same place in the store at once. By jamming everyone in through the same door there is no chance to stay away form each other if you wanted. They only had 6 roll packs of TP and only about 20 of them and priced at $6.00??? No Frozen pizza Pizza but I stuck to my list and got the he!! out of there. Tongue Tied

My sister works at Walmart in Plainfield and called the other day and said that place is a nut house.

Also it does not help that they only have senior hours one day a week. DG has an hour every day so that spreads the people out.

SoapBox

Have a good one!

Mornin' boys.  Sunny & 56 along the Patterson Creek cut-off, but calling for Storm afterwhile.  I helped the girls scrub the back deck and rear siding to Fifedom.  I'm sore after scouring the downspouts.

Dennis like you I haven't been out since the begining of last week for a Wal-Mart pick-up order and a run threw McDonalds drive thru. I have a plastic tub I'm putting items needing repair in, as I come across them as I pull things out from under the train table. I'm also trying to get some organization under there where stuff I plan to keep in the back and stuff I hope to take to train show in Oct. towards the front.

Been doing some yard work,

Hope all are doing fine.

Don, it was funny. Brain wanted to use his CFMoto to pull it out but that would of tore up the yard even worse so we used the old 2005 Gator CX with the rear dif locked in. I just finished squishing the ruts out of the yard with an old grain shovel and my weight. There is a silt line that runs through the ground back there that carries the water to the top of the soil. Once I hit that wet area I was doomed.  Laugh

Good Morning,

KRM
So I decided to try to cut some grass yesterday. Did good,,,,till I got behind the shed and the mower slid sideways down the side of the berm and landed in the mud. WTH? Had to get the neighbor to drive the gator with a strap tied to the mower while I drove the mower till we got it free of the mud. What a mess that made of the lawn back there.

Having visited Kevin's place, he does have a sizeable, really nice shed (garage),  that does have a sizeable berm.  But there has to be some humor in there somewhere, as a retired Cat employee slides a lawnmower down a hill, needing a "gator" to pull it out of the mud.  It had to be a fun ride.

Rainey day here, we already have at least 3/4" this morning.  Think I will finalize the taxes today and get them filed.  Besides that most likely spend some time in the train room, or going through some boxes of photos and see about sorting, maybe digitizing.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Don

Buckeye there were stores with no milk when the horders were going nuts but plenty now. One would think that Prairie Farms milk is gold @ $4.40 a gallon. Walmart milk is $2.19??

Sun and Hi 50's for today.

The kids spent their birthdays at home like we did last month. The grass has turned green and will start to grow real soon but our wonderful governor has forbid the lawn companys to work. Not sure what I'll do about the grass. No haircuts either. Most of you will remember the salad bowl haircuts, that's what we will look like soon.

Morning.  Sunny and 75.  Headed north to FIL's.  Wifey's family thinks that is all there is to do in life.  Sad.  Gets mad if we don't go there.  They live next-door.

Bear, Asheville had one in town wondering around.  No people so it enjoyed a visit.

Enjoy the week.

Good morning folks!

Wow, it's raining! Sigh It made it to mid 60's yesterday, cloudy all day, but nice enough we grilled some steaks on the charcoal grill last night for the family.

Buckeye, our local store has been limiting purchases of TP, paper towels, milk, eggs, and some other things I don't recall at the moment for weeks. Saw video on the news of dairy farmers dumping milk. Sad.

Back to some train repair projects. Working on a Lionel modern Track Gang accessory with stripped gears. fabricating an industrial gear motor assembly with an eccentric to run the accessory. Would require a hole in the table for the larger motor, but it won't wear out! Also modifying an MPC era vo controller where the internal lights that illuminate LIONEL and fan shaped voltage indicator. Replacing lights with LEDs. This one is a dumb project but the Art Deco look of the unit was too temping.

Good morning all,

Cloudy weather.  Moon was quite full this AM.  Not much traffic.  Wife and I did a puzzle Sunday.  Watched 2 Hill Street Blues episodes.  Been reading a book about Octave Chanute I got at a library sale for a buck.  Not bad reading.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning from Jelloway Creek,

It is a frosty morning in the valley.

Flint... Great idea of posting videos you have found entertaining. Here is one that I watched in part yesterday. The CSR Galloping Goose is featured at the end, but I also enjoyed the trains with the lumber and the first person stories. One of the people discuss how Knox Berry Farm purchased some of the equipment and rail.

https://youtu.be/MBvItnV8HZg

Also, TRAINS UNLIMITED has several of their videos on YouTube.

Has anyone else seen milk rationed out at the store? Our farmers in Ohio are dumping milk due to lack of demand. I believe the school systems cut back on their orders causing the demand to decrease.

Be safe out there.

Mornin' boys.  Enjoyed a bowl of cereal on the porch swing, while I watched the sun come up.  Wifey and I worked on some Woodland Scenics trees.  I carefully shaped them, and she painted them with tan acrylic.

Chief - Bear? Probably a small one.  Trail cam didn't catch him this time.  This would be the earliest we've experienced the bruins, but then this Spring seems a bit sped up already.

Hello there,
Beauty of a day, spring is way early. Daffodils are almost done, cows are just about done shedding.

Interesting incident with FedEx yesterday. Got a text at 230pm that my new laptop was delivered. Checked all around, nothing. Called Best Buy who confirmed with FedEx it was delivered to my front porch at 130PM. I said no.  Another was to be shipped with a signiture required. About 7PM while closing up the house Mrs found it on the front porch.

Didn't do much today. Watched a movie and helped Mrs put out a few Easter decorations.

A question. I'm planning to dump my DSL Internet which means I'll lose my email address. What  free provider is a good option?
Prayers for those in need and this pandemic to end soon.

Good evening all,

Thanks for all the comments.  I live in a southeastern Indiana county that has had a lot of cases.  Still, I am not sure what is the appropriate response.  Weather was cooler and cloudy.  Wife and I did a jigsaw puzzle.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Happy anniversary Sir James!  Married 61 years, quite an achievement!  You've got myself and the wife beat, we've only got 43.

Folks, if you're self-isolating (Who ain't?) here's a couple of YouTube channels you might find interesting.

Curious about tanks?  Here's one called "The Chieftain," hosted by Major Nicholas Moran USA, who describes historic tanks inside and out with a good sense of humor and a charming Irish accent.

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCp4j9Y9L6jie44iZroCb99A

And here's one called "Mark Felton Productions," hosted by British historian Dr. Mark Felton.  He's got some amazing stories from history, especially from World War Two.  I don't know how he digs these stories up but it's one entertaining channel!  Amazing, actually.

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfCKvREB11-fxyotS1ONgww

A great way to pass the time if you're stuck at home like most of us!

Morning folks!

Gray and 50. Not supposed to rain today with exception of some spitting here and there. Rain area wide tomorrow...Grumpy

Not much to report. Temps in 40's and raining yesterday, did not feel well due to allergies/lack of good sleep, so made a fire in the brick lined hole in the living room and watched either TCM or YT videos.

Started out sunny already cloudy. Should get to high 50s later.
I start the day by reading the news on the internet from sources I trust. Takes about ½ hour.  Then the rest of the day it is just noise.

My sister works at a Walmart and the other day when it was nice out, she said whole families with their little kids were running all over the store acting as if nothing was going on. Coughing, hacking, picking their noses, and touching everything. Ick! How stupid can people be? Menards has posted NO Kids under 16 years old in their stores. I like the idea of senior hours but don’t want to get up at 5:30 AM to get there. The play book seems it is being written as we go along, no reason to plan ahead.  Laugh

Mike, funny that one of the states that waited to shelter in place now will pull you over if you’re not. We can still move around but then we live in a very rural area but I have not heard of such a thing anywhere else yet either. Since I am retired, do I write my own note? Wink

As for Iracing I am with Fife on that. I watched it last week and it just don’t work for me. I would rather watch old Gunsmoke shows. Yes

Our county is on level red in terms of emergency status.  Driving me nuts.  All the food places are closed for drive thru as well as dine in.  Only grocery stores and gas places are open and then from 5 AM to 10 PM.  I need a signed piece of paper with me at all times so I can leave the county to go to work.  Ugh.  Even in WW II there were not this type of restrictions.  Speed limit was 35 MPH and tires and gas were rationed, but you could still travel where you wanted to go.

Mike C. from Indiana

I understand you frustration, but during wwII we were not in the midst of a major epidemic, major difference. Personally I wish the whole united states would go to that, especially places like NYC Where it really needs to be done to contain it.

Mornin' boys.  Partly sunny and 41 along the Patterson Creek cut-off.  Bird feeder was on the ground at 0500.  Had to screw the bracket back into the tree.

Thanks for the thoughts on our nurses.  Middle Princess unhappy with some of our family who haven't adhered to the Woo-han orders.  If they only knew how sad the outcome is for some of those stricken down...

Buckeye - I came out of the Maxie-spa unscathed.  He was a good boy for youngest Princess and me.

cheapclassics - I tried to watch a little i-racing, but quickly lost interest.  I have developed a guilty pleasure of watching Die-Cast racing on youtube.  I particularly like watching the old Hotwheels red-lines.
