Good evening all,

Happy birthday, Dennis.  Our county is on level red in terms of emergency status.  Driving me nuts.  All the food places are closed for drive thru as well as dine in.  Only grocery stores and gas places are open and then from 5 AM to 10 PM.  I need a signed piece of paper with me at all times so I can leave the county to go to work.  Ugh.  Even in WW II there were not this type of restrictions.  Speed limit was 35 MPH and tires and gas were rationed, but you could still travel where you wanted to go.  Did get to watch the Indycar Iracing event.  As I said after the first one, it is not the real thing but it will do until the real thing returns.  Brent, what the Q told you I can believe.  I have some reasons to think the same way.  I mowed  Friday night.  I edged, trimmed, picked up trash and cut up as much honey suckle as I could today, which was very nice weather wise and was so bored otherwise.  Normally I would be watching "real" football and training for the Mini.  Normally.   Did get MR and Trains today so not a total loss.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good Evening,

Happy Birthday Dennis! Happy B-DayCake, hope your doing OK and getting all the necessary supplies.  Just be careful lots of crazyness going on.

Heard today that Mexico shut down the Corona Beer plant in Tecate, as it is nonessential.  I can't imagine what is going on in Mexico!  I worked in Tijuana and the Otay Mesa for a couple of years.  Those folks dont have anything to begin with, dont know how they can prepare and care for those stricken. Going to be sad!

We spent the day pulling weeds at MIL's home, she's still in an assisted living home, and calls Kay a couple times a week not knowing where she is or why.  She is in the best place for her safety, and dont know what will happen when she is released.

Word is that the Queen Mary may be convereted to a Medical facility, the Long Beach Arena is being set up as a triage center.  Also numerous food distribution centers are popping up.  Its interesting the cars going through the lines, Range Rovers, Prius, new pick-ups, big SUV's, makes one wonder!

Nascar is having another of there "simulated" races tomorrow, this one is at Bristol.  The broadcast commentary is rather comical, I find it very comical.

Fife/Doug, prayers for your daughters and families, it takes special people to do what they do, even in the good times!  Its got to be tough for you guys with the concerns!!

Chief, you partner is very attractive lady, just be careful and keep yourself safe!

Looks like we have more rain on the horizon, sounding like it could be significant, we shall see.

Take care all!!!

Good evening from Jelloway Creek,

Happy Birthday Dennis! CakeGiftHappy B-Day Wishing you many more.

Grump...The video of Pluto the talking dog is one of the funniest posted. Did you know that is Doug Murphy's dog?

Chief...How's the back? Thanks for feeding the kids. How do you hide a trailer/

Don...Yes we saw the locomotive wreck on the news, plus I somehow saw it on a website.

Brent... Thank you. I saw a very detailed cronological order of events associated with this virus, not the one published by the NYT. December 10th was the first time someone in China started to feeling ill. I know it was not on my radar at Christmas, but when I departed our cruise in late January we started to hear about the virus situation in Washington.

Fife... Prayers for your nurse and her husband. Is FifeMax beautiful now? Were you injured?

Rich... Glad your Mom is doing better.

Banks... You forgot to say that Mrs. Buckeye now needs a new cane. Smile, Wink & Grin

Wifey and I put in several hours beautifying Nurse Princess estate.  She loved it when she got home from her shift.  After dinner, we finished watching Season 2 of Mindhunter.

In the train room, I finished two separate "garden" scenes.  They take about 4 hours each to complete.

Hello there,
Learning to deal with the craziness. Had to pickup online orders at HD and Lowe's yesterday. Got there at 6AM. HD limiting to 100 people in store. My pickup was just inside entrance. Had barriers to keep cashiers away from customers Made me go the length of store to exit. Place was full of employees but no customers.

Lowe's  was deserted as well, so deserted I decided to pick up some plumbing parts I need, didn't get within 1 feet of anybody except the lady that gave me my preorder and checked out my stuff. Stopped and got 15 gallon of no ethanol gas ($2.49 reg $2.09) and home before 8

Stole this of another forum
A young man came from the parking lot and tried to cut in at the front of the line, but an old lady beat him back into the parking lot with her cane.

He returned and tried to cut in again but an old man punched him in the gut, then kicked him to the ground and rolled him away.

As he approached the line for the 3rd time he said, "If you old codgers don't let me unlock the door, you'll never get in there".

Best move on

Prayers for those in need and this pandemic to end soon.

We have sun and expecting Hi 50s today. Mayhaps a little rain late. Our entire cable bundle went out yesterday afternoon and was still out when I went to bed. People using this service to work from home were out of luck. I have to say it in a nice way here..lol

Evening Fellas

Been rather 'interesting' around here. With TheQ working from home and being on conference calls I have learned a lot that is not being said to the public. All I will say is there where things done back in January that saved over a million American lives, and had our CDC and NIH infectious disease experts been allowed in to assist this most likely would have never reached beyond Wohan province. Sad the whole world is paying for one country's arrogance.

Got word yesterday that our patio project is moving forward and so are the closet organizer projects (both start on the same day... lol). TheQ also asked me to order the planation shutter for the office window, apparently her working from home has resulted in her realizing the curtain is about shot (brought from old house) and the office gets rather warm in the afternoon... hmmm, funny I mentioned these points in October. LaughCool

Don - that is crazy! and not surprising it isn't on national news.

Fife - prayers nurse princess and her husband stay safe!

Chief - that's a lot of good work there!

Buckeye - nice work!

Roy - ditto

Rich - good to hear your mom is doing better. Keep her safe!

Rolled out early to feed kids.  Found some hidden in trailers that had not been fed.

Here is my partner with my truck full [including back seat piled high].  100 bags of 4 meals frozen.  Microwavable.  We ran out.

Now R&R.

TGIF from a gray cold and windy Central New Jersey - spitting rain at times.

Ventured out yesterday afternoon, got Mom her farm fresh eggs, 4 dozen worth, stopped at Home Depot for a furnace filter and a 2X4 MDF for Jenni's N scale trains.  Stopped by MY house to put away the N&W Powhaten set that I had out and back in the boxes.  The Post War Classic J will see the shop when this pandemonium is over.  Right now, I'm gathering money together for this and next months bills and mortgage, to hopefully be caught up until June. Train budget has been slashed until then.

Had dinner via take out from the local I-tal-ian Restaurant and that was good.

Mom continues to improve, hence our little shopping and gathering trip.  So far so good.  Staying out of the FD as not wanting to run into someone's house that is not "clean" at this point.  If it's a major incident, then I will respond.

Will be cleaning up another of the bedrooms to make room for the N Scale board and maybe a temp O scale set up - I have the Winter Wonderland Express and the First Responders sets here, so we won't get too bored.

Stay well, all!

Dougnotta - VERY nice - I did see the Queen remake - too funny...

Good (latet) Morning,

I thought this would have made national news, but haven't seen any comment.  Apparently, a locomotive engineer in the LA Port, decided the USN Mercy hospital ship was part of a federal invasion, and decided to run the engine into the ship!  He was able to get within 250 yards of the ship before the engine derailed!  He has been arrested and faces 20 years!  (No it wasn't me!)  Fortunately no one was hurt! Unbelievable!!!

Finished my yard work yesterday, and did some trimming on neighbors tree with a chain saw.  Looks great, big improvement.  Got Chris' battery reinstalled and secured in his FJ, that took me a complete day.  Biggest issue was figuring out how to secure the battery tray to the vehicle, but it worked.

It is really hard to imagine that this "lock down" situation is going to be going on for 2 or 3 months!  Kay and I are extremely fortunate as all we really have to do is manage the boredom.  I really feel for the younger people, (especially the health workers and 1st responders), and then those with children, much less the financial issues they are all having to contend with.  Never could have imagined this kind of situation.  Makes me have a greater appreciation for what families and people had to do during WWII.

We all need some good news, hope this is over sooner than later!

Take care ALL and best wishes for your families!!!!

Morning folks! Surprise, surprise - it's raining....cold front this afternoon...

Finished up a prewar orange Shell tank car that needed trucks. Got the trucks at York a couple of years ago. Had to make a couple of washers and repair the magnetic coupler coil assembly on one truck. Came out good. Another piece of rolling stock on the road!

Sun going to 60 today

I dont know about all of them but store like Sam's & Walmart are limiting how many shoppers can be in the store at once. Too many and you have to wait in line outside. Shelves still have bare spots but there is plenty of food to live on. No paper products, but a few have reported a score on 1 pkg of TP. Produce is plentiful.

Good morning from a gray North Bluff.

Yesterday was great, full sun and warm. I took the stump grinder out and knocked out 5 small stumps on the south trail where I cleared some trees so the new Gator would fit the trail.

Later, wife and I took a nice, about 10 mile ride in the Gator around the country roads close by. Nice thing is most out here are all paved. Yes Only saw two cars and one pick-up truck on the roads.  We did see two girls/young woman walking their dogs and a couple sitting on their porch. They all waved as we drove past. Seems everyone is learning new ways to cope. We just putted along at about 20 MPH.
Nothing wrong with being forced to slow down and take it easy either. Smile

Be good guys!

Mornin' boys.  Sunny and 55 in the Potomac Highlands.  Today begins our first day of grand-dog care.  The nurse princess, as well as her nurse husband, wll be working 12 hour shifts.  She is now on Woo-han detail, as cases are starting to pop up in our area.  So, Wifey and I will be back and forth to let the doggie out.  I will probably do some yardwork over there as well.
