Hmmmm...April already....
Regards, Roy
April fool. Was my sister's birthday. She sure took a lot of kidding over the year.
But on to important things. You notice Da Chief is going to bed earlier each month.

Thank goodness, March just dragged.
Woke up this morning to a sniveling, hysterical day that just couldn't make up it's mind what kind of a day it wanted to be. Struck while the iron was hot and cut the grass and whacked the weeds. Finished just in time, the day finally decided to be a rainy one around 3:00 this afternoon.
Stay healthy everyone!
Evening All,
Happy April Fool's Day, just doesn't feel right to do any April Fool's stuff.
I'm really concerned about the health care workers, especially the nurses. Not taking anything away from the Drs, but the nurses have so much patient contact. Sure hope this changes soon! Announced this evening that Ca is suppose to be at the peak around April 26.
Difficult to watch much news, it is so discourging, so I've been busy working in the backyard. Will post a couple of pictures tomorrow, Any thoughts about a special thread or just put it here?
Chris had an interesting thing with the FJ Cruiser. He went somewhere and left it here, I couldn't get it to turn over, thought a dead battery. Found out the ground cable broken between the battery and grounding point on fender. Never seen that before! What happened is the mounting plate under the battery is plastic and has two eyelets that the top battery strap is secured to by a couple of hooks that go to the plate. The eyelets in the plate broke, resulting in the battery bouncing around only being held in place by the cable. So it ended up breaking! So going to see what we can do about securing the battery. I assume the "plastic" tray that the battery sits on is to prevent corrision from occuring on the metal plate. I think we can resolve it WITH the plastic tray and relocating the securing point on the metal plate. (Hope that all made sense.)
Finally, good news is that the weather has been really great. Kay and I have been bike riding and it has been very enjoyable.
Take care all
Don
Mornin' boys. Cloudy and 42 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Spent a good bit of time in the train room, painting and laying down ground foam in the railroad tie plant. Installed the faux siding, to which I used an old O-scale 2-rail straight (guessing Atlas?), fixing it in place with both ends out of viewer's sight.
Happy April 1st to all the fools out there.......Last day of full time hours, tomorrow I go 9 to 3. I was short on Monday but made it up last night.....reports got out and multiple issues got resolved. Nothing much else at this point - the FD is looking to do a Zoom meeting tomorrow night, Mom is doing betterSunny and 40 right night with a breeze - the ferals have been fed and I just need to feed the indoor queen and then I can work - Just need to set up the schedule and tell the guys this afternoon......Back later

Ahhhhhh....Now it is really April...nice and sunny today....and then rain for the next 5....
Damp, cloudy and chilly. Poured over night. Fertlizer on lawn melted I'm sure.
Bascialy staying in.
Back injection tomorrow. 3 days of rest.
Stay safe.
Sun came out.
NBC News should be shut down. Its serious but they make it worse.
No April Fools joke but a truckload of tp burned up in Dallas.
Wonder if people were out trying to find any leftovers ?
ChiefEagles Sun came out. NBC News should be shut down. Its serious but they make it worse.
The way it is Chief. I don't have a problem with our local paper and news coverage here in VA, but the national press? Forget it! "All coronavirus, all the time!"
Stands to reason. A few months ago it was "All impeachment, all the time!"
Remember 1995? "All O.J., all the time!"
Pack of lemmings. The fact that other things keep happening means nothing.
Thank God for toy trains!
Spent the better part of the day in the train room, "fencing". Built a farm fence for a pasture, and a garden fence for the river front. Painted some O-scale figures, and planted a little foliage.
Then I sat down and transcribed the perfect Woo-han defeatin' song, Beer Can't Fix (Thomas Rhett). Am-D-G-Em. Don't get any easier, or better than that.
Stay frosty my friends.
Good evening all,
Busier than expected at work. Weather cool and cloudy. Did some more running around getting items. You buy what you can when you can find on certain items. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Wake up!
Cloudy and rain later, and for next 5 days on and off.
Dougsnotta -
MikeC - grocery shopping takes twice as long, as I stand there and try to figure out what alternative to what we normally buy...with the TP it's easy...grab one of whatever they got!
Morning. Sunny and 63. Pretty day. Will have what will probably the last lowest night temp until fall/winter. 40 degrees forecasted. Will cover potted tomatoes and peppers. Took them out of the greenhouse as so warm out. Flint, local biggie station is NBC. They are just as bad. Back injection this afternoon. Gives me an excuse to be lazy for three days,. Stay safe and well.
Well you take it easy Chief, I hope that back injection does you some good.
Back pain is not fun! I know!
Good morning all,
Nice to see some good weather for once. I hope everyone has a good day.
Mornin' boys. Sunny and 55 in the Potomac Highlands. Today begins our first day of grand-dog care. The nurse princess, as well as her nurse husband, wll be working 12 hour shifts. She is now on Woo-han detail, as cases are starting to pop up in our area. So, Wifey and I will be back and forth to let the doggie out. I will probably do some yardwork over there as well.
Good morning from a gray North Bluff.
Yesterday was great, full sun and warm. I took the stump grinder out and knocked out 5 small stumps on the south trail where I cleared some trees so the new Gator would fit the trail.
Later, wife and I took a nice, about 10 mile ride in the Gator around the country roads close by. Nice thing is most out here are all paved. Only saw two cars and one pick-up truck on the roads. We did see two girls/young woman walking their dogs and a couple sitting on their porch. They all waved as we drove past. Seems everyone is learning new ways to cope. We just putted along at about 20 MPH. Nothing wrong with being forced to slow down and take it easy either.
Be good guys!
Sun going to 60 today
I dont know about all of them but store like Sam's & Walmart are limiting how many shoppers can be in the store at once. Too many and you have to wait in line outside. Shelves still have bare spots but there is plenty of food to live on. No paper products, but a few have reported a score on 1 pkg of TP. Produce is plentiful.
Morning folks! Surprise, surprise - it's raining....cold front this afternoon...
Finished up a prewar orange Shell tank car that needed trucks. Got the trucks at York a couple of years ago. Had to make a couple of washers and repair the magnetic coupler coil assembly on one truck. Came out good. Another piece of rolling stock on the road!
Good (latet) Morning,
I thought this would have made national news, but haven't seen any comment. Apparently, a locomotive engineer in the LA Port, decided the USN Mercy hospital ship was part of a federal invasion, and decided to run the engine into the ship! He was able to get within 250 yards of the ship before the engine derailed! He has been arrested and faces 20 years! (No it wasn't me!) Fortunately no one was hurt! Unbelievable!!!
Finished my yard work yesterday, and did some trimming on neighbors tree with a chain saw. Looks great, big improvement. Got Chris' battery reinstalled and secured in his FJ, that took me a complete day. Biggest issue was figuring out how to secure the battery tray to the vehicle, but it worked.
It is really hard to imagine that this "lock down" situation is going to be going on for 2 or 3 months! Kay and I are extremely fortunate as all we really have to do is manage the boredom. I really feel for the younger people, (especially the health workers and 1st responders), and then those with children, much less the financial issues they are all having to contend with. Never could have imagined this kind of situation. Makes me have a greater appreciation for what families and people had to do during WWII.
We all need some good news, hope this is over sooner than later!
Take care ALL and best wishes for your families!!!!
TGIF from a gray cold and windy Central New Jersey - spitting rain at times.
Ventured out yesterday afternoon, got Mom her farm fresh eggs, 4 dozen worth, stopped at Home Depot for a furnace filter and a 2X4 MDF for Jenni's N scale trains. Stopped by MY house to put away the N&W Powhaten set that I had out and back in the boxes. The Post War Classic J will see the shop when this pandemonium is over. Right now, I'm gathering money together for this and next months bills and mortgage, to hopefully be caught up until June. Train budget has been slashed until then.
Had dinner via take out from the local I-tal-ian Restaurant and that was good.
Mom continues to improve, hence our little shopping and gathering trip. So far so good. Staying out of the FD as not wanting to run into someone's house that is not "clean" at this point. If it's a major incident, then I will respond.
Will be cleaning up another of the bedrooms to make room for the N Scale board and maybe a temp O scale set up - I have the Winter Wonderland Express and the First Responders sets here, so we won't get too bored.
Stay well, all!
Dougnotta - VERY nice - I did see the Queen remake - too funny...
