I'm back again,

How quick things change in a day!  I too am stunned with all activities/panic going on!  It unbelievable, getting tons of email regarding all the activities being cancelled just in case we were planning on participating.  With all the prof sports being rescheduled or without spectators, I was curious about Nascar.  The venue this week is Atlanta, and a huge track like will look a little more unusual than normal with NO spectators in the stands.  (Announced earlier today.)  This sure has far reaching affects!!  Schools, theatres, churches, on and on!

Sure hope all the hysteria doesn't last for a long time!

Take care all!

Don't know what the hell happened, clicked "post reply" and poof. Gone, updated a blank screen.  Confused

We've canceled March and April Kids Club events, as crowded as it gets with kids and parents figured ti better to err on the side of safety. Not too worried about the munchkins, least effected, but more about us old farts and all our medical conditions.  Sad

Quiet on The North Bluff Above Marseilles IL today. Hit 55 and I washed the John Deere XUV590i and worked in the shed. Wife is house cleaning. So I had to get out of there. Laugh

Don, the stands have been empty for years, a cost thing so let the race go on I only watch on TV anyway.

DougDG, yes, better to err on the side of safety!

As for me. I will hold and see how it all shakes out. All one has to do is look at the numbers of all of the past virus numbers and this one to see it may be very close or worse than Swine flu. SARS was short and nothing looking at other outbreaks.

Good evening all,

Disastrous couple of days.  Escape got sideswiped on the way to Indy Wednesday.  Drivable but d---!  Took younger to St. Louis (in said sideswiped car) and she has to go back again in August for some more therapy on arm.  Ugh.  No spectators at St. Pete this weekend and Long Beach GP cancelled already.  Who knows what will happen to events in May at Indy??????   Makes you wonder if you want to get up in the morning.....  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Morning folks!

Raining here as predicted and 61... Rain for next 5-6 days...no sun...ugh.

MikeC - sorry about the car...

DonB - Kev - yep, NASCAR has been preparing for no spectators for years now...so easy decision for them to keep the races going on!

Got some things taken care of yesterday before the rains hit...took wife's car in for a recall, state inspection, oil change, and some minor service...went to the Dallas County Hazardous Chemicals collection center and dropped off a box of expired batteries, a box of expired CFL and LED bulbs (weren't they supposed to last for 5 yrs or more???), a couple of expired small electronics (they do not take dead smoke detectors???), and a very early CFL small flat screen TV that was unrepairable.

Morning.  70 and rainy [not raining right now].  Errands.  Goofing off.

Folks going crazy.  Chair of County Commissioners is to declare a state of emergency [unless some idiot talks him out of it].  Frees up processes and helps with Federal assistance.  We'll see.  Schools moving up Spring Break to cover a couple of weeks.  Then access.  Wake Co., nothing yet. ?  All this to help prevent spread.

Have a good one.

Good Morning,

Mike, Talk about a bad day, that the pits!  Hope today was much better!

Looks like Nascar is "postponing" the races for the next two weeks.  Changed from no spectators, to no races.  I agree Kev & Roy TV is the best vantage point.  I did attend the Fontana race a couple of weeks ago, a friend offered me a free ticket and tailgate party.  So couldn't refuse.  Had a great time.

Been getting a good rainfall here past couple of days.  Had to add water to the pool on Tuesday, then pump it out on Thursday.  Should have waited.

Did get preliminary pass done on taxes, so time wasn't wasted.

Re: The virus, Amusement parks are closing as of tomorrow for two weeks, (incl D-land), issue going on regarding the Indian Casinos, state says close, they say they are exempt.

Take care all and have a great day!

Got the flash drive from Don today. All I can say is you had one heck of a nice trip!!!

Thanks for the pictures Don!! Sandra and I liked them all!

Nothing new here. A lot of schools are shuting down extra time for spring break for deep cleaning. Most of the stores around here are fine but when you head into the population areas it is nuts.

Bummer on the car Mike. Are they going to fix it or do you have to replace it?

Hunkered down till this virus thing blows over, im higher risk due to bad asthma, so I go to work(which is a virus incubator being a large factory) and back home again.  Bought some more UK tinplate and spending time planning and running my trains in the safety of my home.   Enjoy your weekend everybody.  Its off to work in a little bit for me(2nd shifter).     Mike the Aspie

Quick stop by - TGIF!!!

Mom is better, I ran out for her breakfast.  Still catching up on her zzzzzz's.

The BF's Grandma has passed Wednesday Morning, spoke to the Princess, a Celebration of Life is Sunday and Jenni and I will attend.  My sister will hang with Mom.  At 67, she was very young.

Company meeting last night, more politics and such.......home at 930 PM.

That's all from here.......

Still think this is over-reaction and mass hysteria for no reason - I'll be living my normal life, thanks - and I would be classified in the "High Risk" catagory.

Rain and 50ish this morning now 55ish and sunny with breeze

Devil, I spoke to a buddy of mine last night who lives in Paramus.  Talk about hysteria, he tried to go to the Shop-Rite in Rochelle Park and traffic was backed up for blocks with people trying to get in the parking lot!  He only needed a few odd n' ends, but decided to forget about it.

Local supermarket here is cleaned out of the staples, i.e. bread and milk, but otherwise not too bad.  This is nuts!  I still think when this is over people are going to feel like fools.

All the schools grades K-12 in IL. will be closed from 3-17 to 3-30?? Guess we will be seening a lot of the grandkids. Guess I will need to set up some projects for us to do. One thing for sure, if they are here they will be in isolation from the virus. Wink

Good evening all,

Thanks for all the comments!  Car will be fixed by other person's insurance so all good there.  Totally devastated Indy car cancelled until May Sad Sad Sad  Real football cancelled until April as well.  Hope everybody is enjoying the stock market roller coaster.....not.  Down 2000 up 2000.....why?   Did 13.1 miles today in 3:47:25 for a 3.45 MPH average.  Not a great speed at all but at least I went the distance.  Now that I have a "qualifying speed", I can work on "race day" setup.  Nice weather today, not so good this weekend.  Church "released" people from required Mass attendance, first time EVER in my memory they did that.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mornin' boys.  Partly sunny and 40 along the Patterson Creek cut-off.  Went to Hobby Lobby and Michael's, picking up scenery items for the layout (love those coo-puns).  Picked up the youngest princess from college, so the family truckster was crammed full for the return home.  We dined at Outback in Martinsburg.

RR is weighing its optionsSigh...  I may have more time to finish my layout.

Snowing hard on the North Bluff, Tongue Tied

We have not changed much because of the virus, we get supplies every two weeks and will still do so. They say Walmart is out of TP and other things but the DG and other small stores are fine. I hate Walmart so no problem for us. We are pretty much out in the sticks so life has not changed to much yet for us.

Got this from my cousin yesterday. I think she is has something here to consider.

wow someone with some common sense. Thanks for sharing Kevin.

We don't have any symptoms but we're not taking any chances. I have enough food in the house for about 2 months maybe more, so were good for that. Same with pets supplies. TP maybe not but where good for about a month I think, and by then they should be restocked at the stores and the hoarding will drop, I hope. Geese how much do you need. I saw where a lady in Australia thought she was ordering 48 rolls of TP and actually ordered 48 cases of 48 rolls. She said she now has enough for the next 12 years. We have no plans to being around anybody face to face for a while.

No real news here, may do some yard work today, or continue going thru things I want to sell and put them on the bay.

Otherwise samo samo here.

It's official, via e-mail last night was notified that all of the museums in Balboa Park will be closed from 3/16 thru 3/31. For Saturday and Sunday the Model RR Museum will be limiting the number of people in the museum to 250 people max which includes guests, volunteers and employees.

Good evening all,

Rainy cold day.  Binged watch a show the wife was watching.  Also worked on a puzzle.  Really exciting.   Daughter sent some pics of an item youngest grandson built from his dad's Erector set I got him for Christmas several years ago.  May have to get a set off eBAY for him as well.  Did my heart good.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mornin' boys.  37 with a scattered covering of snohizo on the ground.  No plans today.  Visited friends last night, and had a good time snacking and sipping.

Been working on a tin tri-plane for the layout.  Picked it up at Hobby Lobby, and it's pretty close to 1/48.  Trying a low-flying angle mount, instead of the ceiling suspension by string.  Wifey also bought me a metal locomotive wall art piece, that she will "let" me mount on the train room door.

They don't have spell check but the pop-up works good.

Sun with 31/40 for the day. The grocery store madness continues. So far are lives here are running normal. No train news, everything local has been canceled.

The hording has hit the sticks, NO TP anywhere. Tongue Tied
Ground is covered with new snow.
The SIL works as maintenance at a company that bottles water. So on the leap day the machines shut down because they could not figure out what date to put on the bottles as an expiration date even though water does not go bad the Gov makes them put a date on them anyway. So, one of the employees reset the machine and screwed up the date and they ran a whole day bottling water that had a sell by date as 3-1-2020
So rather than throw it all out they offered it to the workers. Dan is on his way over to drop off 54 cases of water today.  Laugh

Hello from Orlando. Attractions closing, stores limiting their hours, Church services' attendance down, Nursing Homes restricting visitors etc. On the bright side, neighbors following Health Authority's advice and most of all, watching out for each other and checking on us "older" guys and gals. "Keep The Faith", this too shall pass. Wishing all of you well throught this challenge.  PS If you are quarantined and bored....there's always the layout.

Gov. shut down schools here which should have been done earlier.  School system refused until ordered.  Now elememtary schooll teacher tested +.  Was sick for 5 days.  Students infected?  He also shut down concerts who refused to shut down.

Enjoy your week.

Afternoon folks!

Coudy, misty, raining on and off, 53 right now. The predicted 70's never materialized. Rain and no sun predicted for next 10 days now. Gloomy...especially for here....

Well, with all auto racing, sports, etc., cancelled, I have my extensive DVR collection of SpongeBob shows to fall back on....

Went out to our favorite Chinese food place last night for dinner. Had the place to ourselves. Very pleasant. And the roads were deserted also!
