Hello there,
good night at the drags last night. Grandson placed 2nd in both his classes. He got a bit faster but we discovered he's wound tight by half track, time for taller gearing. Son got it together and won the bracket class. Pretty good considering there were 24 in the class.
So so day on the hill today. Wupped as hit the bed at 230 and back up at 6. Waiting for takeout pitza then bed
Buckeye.......thanks for taking good care of Don.
Mike C.......glad all went well

Mornin' boys. Sunny & 58 in the Potomac Highlands.
It was a pleasant first day back. The crew were genuinely happy to see me, and I them. Got some compliments from the ridership. No work on the mallet for now.
Now to make myself a sausage and provolone omelett.
Evening folks!
Pretty warm today, 100.
Son has gotten interested in golf. He golfs lefty so my old sticks are no good for him. As an early bday present, yesterday we went to a local golf shop and found a nice set of used Callaway irons and a (I forget the brand) used lefty 3 wood - all for under $170 (same price as on Craig's list). No used lefty putters or drivers and no point in dropping $100 for a new putter or $350 for a driver. Dug out my old clubs and good news, I had an old single blade putter, so problem solved! Cleaned up the bag (bought it when I was in HS) and he is happy/good to go. We went out in the back yard and hit some wiffle balls. First time I have swung a club in 20 (or more) years. Heck, when it cools off I may go join him in a round (until my elbow gives out).
Dug around in the garden shed and found two 15 packs of new Titleist and Maxfli balls that I had received as office gifts. Old bag had plenty of tees, markers, divit tools, golf towels, etc. heck, even found some of my old 1970's scorecards from the Texas A&M campus golf course. Shot mid-90's - solid double bogey golf.
Dennis - parrots would be cool. We have crows and grackles In the back and front yards. Major obnoxious birds...
DonB - no Buckeyes from Buckeye?
Sun and 70s today. If it has to be Sept. at least I have collage football to watch. Much of the veggie garden is done but we are still getting maters for BLTs. Other than the Pot CTT forum has cobwebs in it.
S.J.
Beautiful day out. Being lazy. Got grass mowed yesterday. Blew leaves off concrete from storm.
Enjoy the day.
Mike C......Congas on the nuptials! !!
Buckeye.........what Fire said
Yesterday PM Mrs and I turned a bushel of maters into 16qt of canned maters.
Seems I need a REAL ID to renew my CDL license. That requires a state issued birth certificate with a raised seal. Spent over an hour looking for mine. Finally found it but no raised seal. So on to the PennDOT website. $30 and the exact info on my original a new one is on the way. Seems like a fundraiser to me.
Slept late this morning, Drags today so probably won't get to bed til 1AM or after. Hillclimb tomorrow.
Best get on with the day
Prayers for those in need.
Mornin' boys. Sunny & 58 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Weeelllll, my four months of being "on holiday" ends today. Back on board 2 trains with the scenic rr. It will be nice to see some of the folks. I slept well, even with the mixed feelings.
Hung out with Wifey all day yesterday, and we even decorated the front porch for Fall. Looks very nice. Spoke with Fifepup, and he advised they didn't get anything from Dorian. Ended evening with some "luv u's" with youngest princess.
cheapclassics - Good luck with the wedding! Watch out for "crashers" from Snohizo.
Buckeye - Keep feeding Shake-n-Bake like that, he won't let you forward him to his next location...
Good morning from the Valley,
Don found his way to Ohio! Of course Mother Nature is cooperating with beautiful weater. No sharks, no salt, no worries. Yesterday, we visited several historical locations including Keim Lumber, Hershberger's Market and the Age of Steam Roundhouse.
Last night for Don's Ohio dinner we had grilled steaks, corn on the cob, yellow tomatoes and fresh baked Mrs. Buckeye's peach pie. Dinner was served by candlight on the patio.
Don and I discussed all the friends we have made on the forum. I had one exception.
Have a good day!
Survived today. Have to get thru Saturday and Sunday (daughter's wedding) and maybe get some time to relax. I hope everyone has a good day.
fifedog Something to munch on: I just stopped by the post office, with a Lionel boxcar in hand, to get a price on mailing same out to the west coast. $14.35. 10 years ago, the cost averaged between 7-8 bucks (that's per month x however long the interchange lasts).

Kev, From The North Bluff Above Marseilles IL.
Try getting a quote from fedex and UPS you know the weight now, just round up. I find them usually also creck using a regional rate B box a lot of time cheaper but still prioity.
Just say helicopter footage from North Myrtle Beach up to Beaufort NC. No roof damages at all. Only damage was at Emerald Isle. A camper mobile park where tornado hit earlier. That is a good report. Sun is out and wind is gone. Put flags back up.
TGIFAnother meeting and was in bed by 1030, and happy about that. Met up with Jenni for some Ice Cream at the DQ for a quick minute. She was at the local cruise night while I was in my monthly meeting.Windy and cloudy right now, the outer bands of Dorian are impacting the shore (Atlantic City and Wildwood) with rain and wind. Should clear outta here by tomorrow.I have a list of things to do tomorrow and then Sunday up early to help with the Tri-Atalon. And that will skewer the plans to go to Roar to the Shore.Nice to see DonB, Fife and Banks.....thanks for the pic, Banks!!
Fife - I'm in on the Car Exchange....just FYICountdown is on, 5 days til I leave for Convention!!Back to work.....
I am the monster in your head...And I thought you'd learn by now, It seems you haven't yet.I am the venom in your skin --- Breaking Benjamin
Weather guessers are jumping with joy. Eye wall just touched edge of Cape Hatteras. Dorian made land fall in US.
Sun popping in and out. No rain for some time now. Mow grass later today. Never loss power. No flooding. Basement dry. 1.8 inches of rain which was much needed.
Farms [farther east] report from buddy Larry. No power loss. No flooding. More rain than we got but really needed. No wind damage.
Good Lord looked after us.
Later.
Morning folks!
Been traveling last couple of days. It's still hot, 100! Low hoomidity!
DonB, Banks, and Fife! - great you guz got together and at the 'Curve' to boot! Nice pic!
MikeC - more COWBELL!!!!!!
Anj - havin too much fun! Continued prayers for your dad!
Kev - you'll luv this - got a letter from my Part B provider letting me know they changed my mailing address to Mesa AZ a month ago - whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat???? Both wife and I have been on the phone with their 'higher level management' - some reimbursement checks, albeit very small ones have been mailed to that address. They cannot find any record of us calling to change the address, but they do have records of my calls expressing 'mucho unhappiness' with their email notification systems, and my comments about why would they change a mailing address without verification (a month later via snail mail is not 'verification' and hey - their email system is crud). An 'investigator' is supposed to call us today
Dennis - glad you are ok. Be careful with the pup walks!
Mornin' boys. Cloudy and 61 in the Potomac Highlands. Chief is right, the weather doodles are besides themselves with the non-landfall from Dorian (ask the folks in the Bahamas...).
Had a great time with Don and Banksie up at Horseshoe Curve. Kelly and I really enjoyed hearing about Don's adventures, and he told me all about his time at Knott's. She liked all the La-La-Land stories, and I envy his "just do it" mindset. I also placed in a request to Banks to come learn how to drive his tractor. In total, we spent over 3 hours at the Curve, and NS didn't disappoint. There was a steady, almost non-stop parade of freights going up and down the 3-track mainline. The overturned freight cars, from the 2 separate derailments this summer, are still there, as NS simply dumped them over the outside of the curve.
Then, it was Wifey's turn, as I took her to Hobby Lobby like I promissed. Then we dined at Outback, before heading south, down 220. Kelly said that in honor of Don's trip, and the 10th anniversary of the CPI, it may be time for another round of train exchanges. Have to give it some thought...
Good day at work. Good weather. Boys lost 5-0. I hope everyone has a good day.
Hello There,
The Don Baker exchange continues..........This morning Mrs and I finished freezing the corn. Then I Headed to the horseshoe Curve. Met Don, Fife and Mrs Fife. We watched trains and chewed the fat for quite a while. Later Don and I dined at a local eatery. When I last saw him he was headed west on route 22.
Bed is calling.
Be careful Ray. Don't need any broken bones.
Morning. Cloudy. Expecting rain and wind this afternoon until tomorrow AM. Should not be too bad here. Nc coast will get it. Constant reporting the same old thing over and over.
Have a good one.
Don
Quiet but productive day at work. Got MR and Trains yesterday. Weather nice. Got some tasks done tonight. I hope everyone has a good day.
Ray, good to hear from you.
Hurricane. Our weather guessers are having a hurricane dance. They will be so disappointed if it does not hit and do damage. No joke.
Box stands all have stairs now. Talest have hand rails.
Tired.
