Morning folks!

Will only hit 101 today! It will be toasty and sunny!

Broke out my nearly 50 yr old Badger airbrush. Could not get a clean pattern and ended up with a bit of orange peel in the finish. Maybe time to retire it????

Still waiting on El Cam parts.

MikeC - Thumbs Up on the good game! Sorry you lost.

Buckeye - walk with Banks at York - he will cover you on Gilbert HO for your new layout!

Regards, Roy

Just passin thru,

Yep, its getting hot here in the 100's +, fortunately where we live I doubt it will get above 92 or so.  Advantages of living close to the south facing beaches.

Had the air shocks replaced on the El Camino a month or so back.  Didn't think they were holding air, so went back to the installer and they confirmed my doubts.  So they checked it and determined that the fittings where loose.  So the tech tightened and told me he got 5 or 6 turns on each one, by using a wrench.   Hmmm, thought they were only suppose to be finger tight. (plastic fittings).  So, OK.  Next day, seemed the car was sitting low, and they wanted me to take it back so they could check the air again, just to be sure.  Upon checking they said it was still a problem.  So the tech checked again, then Sr tech, then the owner.  Now they decided the fittings were overtightend by using a wrench!  And two fittings were leaking.  So they replaced those and 3 hours later sent me on my way.  So we will see.  (did get an offer on the car from another customer while I was there, but told him no thanks)

Take care, stay healthy, safe and cool

Don

    Hello there,
Back from Mass, breakfast over,  now waiting for a haircut. Sun shining for a change. Probably be another inside day, the yard is super soggy.
Buckeye,  since Gilbert HO was only made a few years there are limited amounts available. I'd recommend you buy all that you see.

Gotta go
Prayers for those in need

Good Evening from sunny 94°F Southern Ohio,

I also tried to get on last night but could not.  I hope to get the train room painted this weekend.  It is the week for the full cut so we’ll see.  I’m getting anxious to get the room going.  Not quite as large an area as Buckeye.  About 12’ 6” x 13’.  But it will be a train room!

Buckeye - those HO wheels are really small to get on the rails.

May God bless

Jim

Buckeye.......sounds like he's wanting you to use "S" guage.Huh?

My layout is goining to be 12x7 in the old coal bin. The rest of the basement will have my refurbished 4x8 from high school and Vintage christmas decorations.

Piddled with the toro walk behind today. Found the engine full of straw and the magneto kill wire bare mixed in with it. Reassemble it tomorrow.

Off to feed the cows, take a shower and relax.

Prayers for those in need.

Good evening all,

Work was mostly quiet.  Pain two tried to make life difficult late in the day, but I got it handled well.  Went to see Mamma Mia 2 tonight.  Good movie is you like ABBA music.  Great scenery and choreography.  Hot today but rain moved in and will cool things off.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Morning folks!

A big cold front on the way for Monday! Takes some BTUs to lower temps here from 100's to 90's this time of the year!

Another restless night - ugh...

Banks - prayers for your daughter Angel

Phish - train room Yeah

MikeC - I thought you had been moved away from Pains 1 & 2. Guess you still work with them?

Ummm, Krispy Kreme Dinner

The last time the BetterHalf and I went to Vegas, long time ago, we stayed at a hotel/casino that had a Krispy Kreme inside the joint. Every morning fresh n hot doughnuts and coffee. Kinda interesting watching them make the doughnuts. Don't remember the name of the place but the doughnuts were great. Kind of a bummer that K.K. got caught pulling some shenanigans by the SEC but it appears that they have recovered.

No museum today, the BetterHalf and I are experiencing a bit of role reversal. She is really down with the crud so it's my turn to be the caretaker.

Time for morning meds.

Later all.

Good evening all,

Roy, I physically moved away from them, but I am still part of the same group so some interaction is inevitable, just not on a daily basis.   Work was busy this morning, but quiet this afternoon.  Weather was nice for walk.  Practice did not go well for Foyt team, but that was expected.  Looking forward to this weekend.  Mid-Ohio is an absolutely wonderful place to watch a race, but AJ never has had good luck there.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning all!

It will only hit 100 today, same tomorrow, and then the big BTUs from up north Monday to bring temps down to balmy low 90's! We'll see?

Got the El Camino parts from RockAuto yesterday and with the help of DonB, have the eng compartment ECM harness on the way from El Camino Mike in CA. He is only charging me $50 inc shipping! I expected to pay a couple hundred for it.

Dougsnotta - prayers for your wife's quick recovery! Glad you are doing OK!

MikeC - yes, the Mid-Ohio venue is a fun one! Looking forward to that.

Got new lenses for my eye glass frames yesterday. Something wrong with the prescription so I have a doc appt Mon to check them out. Grabbed an older pair in the meantime.

Just a quick stop.  We spent the first week of July at our place in Michigan, the company sent me to Brazil the second week of July, and I've been playing catch up ever since I got back.

I've put a Lionchief Hudson on order - should be here in the not too distant future.  Hopefully, it will impress as much as the Lionchief Berkshire I got erlier this year.

Been hot and dry here this summer.  The temperature has broken for a few days, so I will get some yard work done today.

Only 27 days before I will join the rest of you retiries out there.

All for now.

Congrats, But do not think it's time to have the good life. I guarentee you the day you retire your other half will have a list of things that need for you to handle. I work harder now than when I was working lol. But to be honest, I do enjoy it more :) as it's for me/us not someone else.

Good Evening from beautiful 67°F Southern Ohio,

Friday we cut grass Friday, ours, MIL's and daughter's.  Taped off the trim in the train room.  We also put dehumidifier in the basement.  If I would have known the difference it would make I would have gotten one before now.  It will make the basement and train room much more pleasant.

Today I put the first coat of paint on the train room walls.  A second coat and it will be done and ready to set up some trains.

Banks & Buckeye S is a good comprise size-wise.

Roy – It will be good to be able to run trains again.

Good night and may God bless

So Riveted you know your train room size now.

It's funny but the CTT has a Tract Plan Database as an extra component to their website. One of the selection requirements is the range of square footage, and you have this part of the criteria.

My O gauge train layout design originated from the database. And I began the year that I retired.

Morning team!

103 today! Cool

Taking care of the daughters terrier since yesterday afternoon. She and the BF were out all afternoon for a get-together followed by a symphony. Symphony??? Turns out it is an orchestra that specializes in composing music for video games. Culture however one can get it! Anyway the pup would have been cooped up in the apt for 10 hrs.

Kids coming this afternoon for some pool time and dinner.

Grayson Welcome- Riveting pun!

Good Evening from 82°F Southern Ohio,

Today is my Bride and I 40th Wedding Anniversary.  After Mass she canned some tomatoes and I weeded flower beds.  The kids went out with friends and we went to Lowes for more train room paint and curtain rods then to our favorite Mexican restaurant for supper.  Who says the excitement dims as you get older?

Roy – I am looking forward to get some track down, even if it is the All Aboard panels.  The panels must be getting popular because the ebay prices are increasing.

Time to start picking up kids.

Good night and may God bless

Jim
