Thanks Mike.  Just got home for a shower and shave.  Granddogs dogs got me up at 6:30 AM.  Will have to go back later and babysit more.  Tuesday afternoon its over.  Not bad sitting but they are needy.  Two smallest want to be in your lap all the time.

98 [already] and 55% humidity.

Hope all have a great and safe holiday and week ahead.

Hello there,

Posted this in June and decided to copy it here

Back from Mass breakfast over

Mrs and started to split wood Friday PM. Hotter than he!! so we quit and started about 630 AM yesterday and finished about 9

Splitter

Homebuilt Log splitter. Not fast but it will split most anything.

Grandson got second in both his classes yesterday. SIL spent $$$ on new parts but times stayed the same. Me thinks there is more tuning to be done.

Daughter is having 3rd surgery tomorrow. A couple of breast cancer survivors we know are surprised at this. when they had their surgery the specimen was tested while the were still in the OR to insure the removal was complete.

The doctor she has was highly touted by some in the beginning but I've heard lots of bad rumors about her.

Got about 100 square bales to make so best get moving

Prayers for those in need

Cheif.....Please note the last date of my post; June 30, 2018.  Some people can't tell time, especially those in NC. Mischief

Can you believe that half of 2018 has passed by? I retired at the end of March and April, May and June are just a blur.

As I was going through my mother's belongings after she died, I found a scrapbook from my grandmother about WWII.  She had collected many interesting articles. One newspaper article was about the 18,000 soldiers AWOL in Europe near the end of the war. There was an article about a court martial, too.

For MOPAR Fans, saw this place in Canada:

Hot still. Drank too much Beer in the shed yesterday with Brain. Paying today. Bang Head Felt good at the time. Embarrassed

Guess we are going to The daughter's for the 4th and the Shorewood fireworks.

Got to figure out what to get Grandson Jordan for his 5th birthday next week.

Corn here is already tasseling and it is not yet the 4th??? Surprise

Banks is that a 4" Dia cylinder? I would think that the Oliver does not have too much Hyd flow. Our home built splitter has a 16 GAL two stage pump with a 4" x 24" Cylinder and is okay but could be faster.

Prayers for your daughter tomorrow. I hope they get it this time. Getting opened up and letting air in scares me. Nuts they are on the third try.

Aloha. And it's July already - wow! I spent the past few days moving my daughter and SiL from their apartment in Ann Arbor to Chicago - it was quite a job even with the invaluable help of both sons and the heat. I think it may the last time I do this. Jockeying a 29 ft. long truck in city traffic and along narrow streets is not for the faint of heart. But they are moved in and I've 'recovered' enough to get ready for work in the morning.

Praying for your daughter Banks!

Good evening all,

Too hot for outdoor activities.  Watched World Cup.  Both matches went to penalty kick shootouts.  Both son and daughter continue to have difficulties with exes or soon to be exes.  Sometimes I cannot understand why people have to pile insult onto injury.  Had some more fallout from credit card hacking earlier this week.  And the hits just keep on coming.....   Supposed to be quiet day at work Monday.  I hope so.  Doug M., I have to admire you for driving that truck in Chicago.  You are a braver man than me!!!   There was some good news today.  The US team finished 4th and 5th in the F-1 race and moved to 5th in the Constructor's standings.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Mornin' boys.  Sunny & 74, but projected heat index of 100+ later.  Need to put in a little office time, then head over to daughter's new digs to help prep master bedroom for painting.

Went to my folks' place yesterday evening for dinner, and when we came back, there was a long black snake clinging to our stone front porch, guarding our garage door.  Durango spent the night outside...

Hello there,
Thanks for all your prayers. daughter is due at the outpatient surgery center at noon

Kev..............it is a 4" cylinder. It is slow on the Oliver but then I'm slow too. When on Son's CASE/ IH  JX60 it's pretty quick. We built it out of scrounged parts when son was out of work and selling firewood for some $$$$$$

Best get on with the day. Got to watch grandkids later

Better today, 72 heading to 85.

Got Cat payday so off to Jewell for food and stuff later.

Got the grand kid a Kawasaki dirt bike shirt and one of these for his 16" bike he has at home. I think he will like it. I would of!! Laugh A nice spin on the old baseball card engine sounds.

Banks, Those 4" cilinders will do a nice job on even big stuff. First beam we had on ours was too light and we pulled the top plate right off the center web. Bang Head

Was 77 when we got up, going to 90s each day till Friday.

Some pop-up storms created by the heat roll around here and ther and then disappear. Got a hair cut, both of them, got my pension, check book balanced, and the morning is gone. Yes I still write checks. Will never trust the internet with my money.

Evening gang!

This is the week friends and family gather at the lake/river. 65 here this year so I will be pretty busy/possibly awol some this week. So far lotsa boating, skiing, eating, having fun with friends and consuming adult beverages.

Sorry about the heat for yuz guz. I grew up in summer 90-100 degree and 90+ % humidity, so it does not bother me but I wouldn't mind doing without it.

I do not know about a dehumidifier for the boat when stored. The cover is a breathable material. When covered and stored in the 'garage' which has offset slat  siding on top of a 4 ft stone wall (so wind goes through it) moisture can collect on the cover during a windy storm. Under the cover is a small area

Buckeye - no lamps, you got lucky. Of the dozens of layouts built with DCS not one obtained decent signal strength without them.

Just checking in for July.  I mentioned recently that I had a cousin in Maryland who had a massive heart attack.  Unfortunately, they were unable to save him.  He lived a few days but passed away last Saturday morning around 10:00AM with his family by his side.  I saw him 6 years ago the first time I visited my terminal sister in North Carolina.  Now they are both gone. Sad!  Anyway, I'm still here and taking it easy.  Went to foot doc today and got an ingrown toenail fixed.  Feels a lot better now.  Looks like a lot of hot days ahead.  Happy 4th to everyone.

Happy 4th Eve......

Prayers for SPRay's Cousin and Bank's Daughter......

Buckeye - Thanks for that...I knew I liked you ....lol

Did a show in Hatboro, PA on Saturday and, as usual won nothing but praises from the show visitors and that was enough.  One of the judges was a friend from my car club and I may tap him for advise or direction to take this to the next level, without me doing the trailer thing.....

See Spanks' weather report, same today and tomorrow....

4th of July will celebrate my parents 64th Anniversary with a lunch and then meatball sandwiches and fireworks at dusk.

Off to Carlisle, PA a week from Thursday for Chryslers at Carlisle, my mini-vacation, no fires, issues, work or females (other than the ones to stare at) to interupt my fun.  There will be Angry Orchards to crack open.

Back to my "fun"

Good Morning!

Ray, sorry to hear about your cousin.  Glad to see your doing well!  Looks like need to keep a low profile the next few days.

Spanky, that's a great picture at graduation!  The boys are really looking good.

Not much going on around here, still on lizard patrol.  Just when I think they are gone, one shows up.  Sure hope this doesn't become a long term problem.

Not much plans for the 4th, going to take a picnic lunch over to the in-laws, then what I don't know.  Kay is leaving on the 5th to visit a friend in Reno, won't be back until next week.

Everything seems to be working well on the layout, did have to order a teather for an engine, so got that done.  Sometimes it is a love/hate relationship with the layout.  Get tired of working on it, but don't know what I would do if I didn't have it.

Hope everyone has a GREAT 4th!  And, just be safe!!

Hot and humid.  Been watering.  At Town Hall now for a few things.  Back to watering.  Need rain as so hot.  Took big jugs of water to Veterans' Memorial to water rose bushes and a dogwood tree.

Spanky, great looking crew.

SP, prayers for cousin.

Rich, Buckeye has never been a good guy.

Don Baker, Reno.  DIVORCE. Wink  I know better.  Guess you are in charge of in-laws. Surprise

Mike, un-American sport.

How are Dennis and Doug???

Good evening all,

Busy day at work.  Lots of things went wrong, but managed to get them fixed before start of long weekend.  Weather for walk was warm but we managed.  Wife made it home after 2 days of watching grandson and helping daughter pack.  Next few weeks will be interesting.  Raining now in hometown, do not really need it.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Evenin All !

Still around Chief. Spent last Friday at the museum, that means Saturday was comatose day and Sunday was only partially alert.

Late Sunday afternoon I started putting together my trains for the 4th of July at the museum. All of our spouses will be coming in to celebrate the 4th with us, will be cooking burgers & dogs with all kinds of B-B-Q food.

Here's a link to a youtube video that brought back a lot of memories creating some emotions, both good and bad.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ehbc1zU1BwQ

Spanky, Big congas to your nephew.

Later all.

Have a great and safe 4th of July.

Ray - condolences regarding your cousin.

Kev - looks interesting and easy to use.

Dougsnotta - glad you are making it to the museum regularly! Nice tribute!

Anj - wow! 64th anniversary! Congrats to your folks!

MikeC - some interesting events in the World Cup. My son and his buddy are into it. Glad you get to go into your long weekend (if I understood that correctly) without the work issues!

Happy 4th of July!!! Give credit to those who have served us, those that pay the taxes, and GOD for this great place we live.

Just climbed out of bed. Forgot my heart pills last night so feel a bit jittery. Wife moved the pills from where they normally sit so I forgot all about them....Women!!  Bang Head

80 already here heading into the 90s with 87% humidity and a 74 degree dew point, Shucks! Forecast looks about the same for the next 10 days.

Camp grounds kids are getting going strong with the big bangs. Twilight Zone all day on Decades.

Cook out at Daughter's this afternoon.

Happy Independence Day

This is the day we told the king we were not part of Great Britain.  The actual war for independence had started in April 1775.  The last battle of the war was at Yorktown and shortly after that in 1783 the Treaty of Paris was signed and we were the United States of America.  So how did a backwater upstart country defeat the greatest military power at the time? One answer is; spies. At the end of the book, George Washington's Secret Six: The Spy Ring That Saved America, the CIA acknowledges that the basic methods used by the Revolutionary War spies are still used today.

Rich......you are more than welcome. My second car was a Plymouth Duster.  It was bare bones with three speeds on the column, but it was transportation.

Ray...... My condolences.

Chief......How does the garbage dump outside of Roseyville smell in this heat? Laugh

Doug.....Nice tribute.

Wifey has too many gardens.  Just got in from watering them.  Started yesterday.  Takes 24 hours [minus sleep time] to water them all.  Unbelievable.

Parade at 4:30 [heat of the day, stupid] and fireworks at dusk.

Hope all have a great and safe 4th.

PS: Buckeye, not bad at all.  Especially since it is 80 miles away.  Wink  now Raleigh runs most of the towns in Wake Co sewer systems.  Sometimes they have a problem.  Especially at pumping stations.
