Hey, Happy Thursday!

Buckeye, condolences to you and your family on your Mom.

Banks, praying for your daughter.

Dougnotta......You'll make it to 10.  I'm sure you're in that 15 percentile.....

So the big Hot Wheels show was NOT what I thought it would be which sucks, was told the judges were coming and never saw a one until they had picked a winner.  Some VERY nice vehicles there, but too many "modern" and tuners for my liking.  I was the ONLY Plymouth converitble there and 1 of 2 roadrunners, the other a 73 in black, which was a very nice car!

Softball is rolling right along, last 2 games 3 for 4, 2 doubles and a single.  Winners of 2 out of 3.

Very busy at work, which is good, today, so far long stretches of nothing......and end of month is coming, which will mean uber busy.

Receieved my shipment of cars from Holly Beach and Atlas O Golden Spike Club.  Need to open them and see what they look like.  I'm sure my 2018 Golden Spike Car won't show until 2019.....

So, it's rainy here and supposed to be sunny......Not sure I believe that.  Up to the 80s later and in the 60s tonight.

Color Guard duty at the fire school tonight for our Fire Fighter 1 grads.  I get credit for fire drill for that.

Check back when I can....

I am the monster in your head...And I thought you'd learn by now, It seems you haven't yet.

Aloha. Now to DonB's delight, it is pouring rain again - and on my favorite day of the year too. That's great news about Don's Big Boy - hopefully it will be ready soon.  Somebody may soon smell that dead dino. Wow, is it really coming down - I think this is a week with rain every day - where are we, Portland? !

Evening All,

Had a good day today, got some chores done this morning that were past due.

Lizard update; mysteriously the lizard is either gone to dinosaur heaven, or has just left town.  Rumor has it someone shot him with a BB gun, and it moved verrry quicly to the underbrush, and haven't seen him since.  At least a week.

Great NEWS I was able to fix my JLC Big Boy today!  Its been a long wait, but I received the parts from Lionel, and put them on today.  (linkage on the right side.)

Was going to go camping tonight, but the trip got postponed for a week, Oh Well.

Roy, Sounds like your having lots of fun.  Just think what it will be like when your out there running around on the water.  All worth it.

8ntruck, You have a pretty smart dog, follow his advice on those hot days.

Mike C, congrats on the Minivan, sounds like the truck won't be far behind.

Doug, You guys are never happy, you get to enjoy a variety of weather affects.  Beleive me it gets boring having the same old sunny, 75-80 deg days 350 days a year.

Prayers for all those in need.

Don

Evening all!

Long day today. Hoomidity dropped so I spent the day outside getting the Yamaha Waverunners ready for the water. Changed spark plugs, oil, and oil filters. Installed the batteries. I will comment I am getting too old to contort myself to get into the hulls of the water raft, much less that they were up on their trailer. Launching them in the morning and if the weather holds on to getting the boat prepped for the water (oil change).

Buckeye - condolances for your mother.

It has been hot here lately - temps in the mid to high 90's and heat index in the high 90's to low 100's.  Had to take shorter walks with the dog.  He started stopping and laying down in the shade. Then he'd look at me like I was nuts for taking him out on a walk.  Today's rain seems to have broken the heat but not the humidity.

Not much train activity going on.  Just have an order in for a mix of short pieces to complete a oval/figure eight type of layout for the museum.

About all for now.

Good evening all,

Minivan fixed.  Truck needs more work.  Weather still hot.  Strange game tonight.  We should have won by forfeit, but we still played and lost 2-1.  Not sure how that will be in the standings.  Not sure it matters any way.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Aloha. More rain today after rain last night and the day before and the day before that... After a week of 90s, it is a relief. And everything green is growing like mad.

Buckeye, my deepest condolences to you.

Banks, praying for your daughter.

Doug, praying for you to feel better today. 7 years is great!

Evenin' All !

Fife, Try mixing in some cayenne pepper with the bird seed when you fill it next time. Supposedly it won't bother the birds but squirrels will not have a pleasnt experience with it. I suppose that would apply to larger mammals, like bears, as well.

Tomorrow is my seventh anniversary of joining the CHF club, the next goal is to make it to ten years. However that only has about a 15% rate.

Lionel had screwed-up my parts order but they are correcting the issue. The parts manager recognized the error and sent out the missing items yesterday. Hopefully my repair goes as planned.

Slowly putting things together for Friday's museum visit, however the past few days have not been good. We shall see what happens.

Later all.

Continued prayers for all our friends and families.

Evening All,

Nice it "cooled" down a bit from the weekend. That was nasty. Not much on the go. Had to take the girls out shoe shopping for grad, with the Mrs. being on the DL. Ugh..... I think that was the hardest thing to deal with so far. Confused Thank God for cameras on cell phones!!

Buckeye - So sorry for your loss.

Banks - Continued prayers for your daughter.

DougDG - Nurse Ratched!! Laugh I think I'll be the one flying over the cuckoos nest!

Have a good one and prayers.

I'm not sure about West Virginny but the PA game commission would tell you to quit feeding the birds.

Good Afternoon from hot and humid (92°F @ 58%) Southern Ohio,

Last night after supper, bride had made the most delicious beef brisket I’ve ever ate, I push mowed the recovered area and backfilled the hole dug around the downspout drain.  It wasn’t much three wheelbarrow loads of dirt and 3000 ft2 of stubble, but enough to work up a sweat.  I put a stump grinder on reserve at the local tool rental place for Saturday.  The stumps to remove are all wrist size but there is like 50 of them so I figure it will cost about a dollar to $1.50 a stump.  I’ll update this after I’m done.

I received a Marx station whistle base I won off ebay.  I already had the station and base but the original whistle wiring was shot.  I got the base motor/whistle cheaper than I could fix the motor and it works good.

Dennis - I live in Portsmouth Ohio.  It is right on the Ohio River middle of the state east to west

Roy - the great part of working in 130° is it makes 90° feel good.

Banks - continuing prayers

Fife - squirrels at the feeder?

May God bless

Jim

Morning all!

Hot and muggy! Mid-90's. I'll take it! Summer starts Thursday!

Finished up the boat lift cabling project last night. Just need to re-tighten the wire rope clips and pull out the temporary wood joists supporting the cradles/bunks thus morning. On to installing batteries, cleaning hulls, and changing oil and into the water this week! Phish - not only working in the heat, it was over 130 in the attic of the boat house. Had a turbine fan pointed at me!

Chief - now you've done it. You have warned Buckeye about a major crossing of the M-D line for Spring York! He has too much time to prepare!

Banks - prayers for your daughter!

Hello there.

Hot & muggy here. Big storm bout 230 this AM.

Back from Mass, looking to see what to get into.

Doc called daughter to office yesterday. Seems the "margin" was undefined in the biopsy. Surgery tomorrow to remove a larger area tomorrow.

Best move on.

Prayers for those in need

Mornin' boys.  Overcast and 81 along the Patterson Creek cut-off.  More princess moving today.  Tended to the new "estate" yesterday; Wifey in the kitchen, myself on the lawn and siding.

I am currently dealing with an insidious bird-feeder pilforer.  May have to begin the grandson's sniper training earlier than planned.  Do they make gilley outfits in Size 4...?

Good evening all,

Turns out it was the left front brake that locked up (hence the smoke from the brake fluid).  It is home and the van is in the shop.  Too hot for my walking buddy to go outside so we did the inside route which was almost as warm.  Rain supposed to be here the next two days.  Practiced with the junior high kids tonight.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good Afternoon from sunny hot 92°F Southern Ohio,

The weekend went by way too fast.  Friday we went and picked up the twins from CYSC (Catholic Youth Summer Camp) and I assisted with the week closing Mass.  It was awesome!

The Rotor Rooter Drain Camera showed the downspout drain was totally blocked and the leak at the drain pipe eroded a cavity down next to the foundation.  They said I could dig it out and back fill but the cavity was not so much large as it was long and deep.  They recommended to use a thin mortar mix and pour it down into the cavity.  So Saturday I mixed and poured 640 pounds of mortar into the cavity.  After that started cutting grass and finished up Sunday afternoon after Masses.  Bride took the youngest to CYSC and we’ll pick her up next Friday.  Sweat sweat sweat, as it was > 95°.  Ironic as at work today we’re on light duty with reduced active work times and increased break time due to the heat.  What ever happened to acclimatization to working in the heat?

Buckeye - My prayers for your Mom, may God have mercy on her soul.

Don - The kids, my bride and I are going to LA to visit youngest daughter in a few weeks.

Jim R - Good news from the eye doc.

Fife - we’re beginning to see some pretty healthy new fawns; the corn we fed the deer last year must be helping.

Stay hydrated! May God bless

Jim

Hot is an understatement guys! 10:20 and it is 90 with due point of 75 and 70% humidity. Feels like 100 Uck.

Had to pull my car hauler out of the blazing hot shed and get it ready for a trip up north to carry the equipment Mark got at the auction. So that load out today at Ritchie's site should be a hot fun time. I should loose some weight and body fat at least. I can't go north with him this weekend because we have a High School graduation party for the oldest granddaughter over at the son's place. There will be another time.

Banks, that sounds about the same as the one I got ours is 8.5 KW. My son, (a IBEW Local 9 of Chicago Electrician) said it should not have a problem keeping the house alive as long as everything is not turned on at once. We will see..

Otherwise the rest of the day will be Stay Cool!!

Mornin' Fellas

Celebrated 12 years of wedded bliss with TheVPQ yesterday. I got a power washer for Father's Day, so I spent the day power washing the house, 1/2 the front walk, front porch, posts and railings, back porch, and tried it out on the wood decking on the stoop to the screened porch. It made quick work of it and the stoop looks really good. May just finish power washing it, then sand and seal it. Just have the side wall to the sunroom and the rest of the front walk to finish tonight - or later this week if we get the rain tonight and tomorrow night.

Condolensces Buckeye. Angel

Prepping for the Turks & Caicos trip this coming Sunday... I can't wait!
