Mornin' boys.  Cloudy and 44 along the Patterson Creek cut-off.  Carpet doodles coming today (we hope...).  Need to get wifey's storage racks put together.  They are heavy and big.

Middle princess and the SIL-to-be placed a bid on a house, kinda similar to ours, less than a mile away.  Only found some downspout issues that the seller is willing to correct, but they should be good to go.  They took us out to dinner for yeungs & wings after.

Evening gang,

65 today. No rain! Sun popped out twice for a few minutes. It was pretty nice after the weather we've had this winter.

Spent some quality time in the garage on the Atlas 10D metal lathe.

Buckeye - March 30 approaches. Shock time!

Pretty good tace today. I was glad to see Harvick win. Last time he won at Atlanta was 17 yrs ago - wow - time flies.

Mike C - you working towards a marathon or you just trying to hit some personal goals - nice job on the run regardless.

DJ - ouch - been there many times - - - -

Regards, Roy

Good evening,

It was another rainy day here today. I unpacked a few more boxes and then hung some display shelves in the train room. I wanted to get those up before I do any layout construction. I still do not have a final track plan designed. I will lay out the track on the floor first to see how my preliminary ideas work. It is time for bed now and I need to get to work early tomorrow.

Good night,

Joe

Good evening all,

Family event today in Indy.  Did get home in time to do 8 miles in 2:09:21 for a 3.71 MPH average.  Maintained good pace and felt good after 8 miles.  Hope to feel that way after 13.1 soon.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Busy month ahead with stops at:

  • West Lafayette, IN
  • Westlake, OH
  • Philadelphia, PA
  • Newark, NJ

I'm done on March 30th.  I'm worried about the Chief after I retire.  Without me out there busting my butt and paying his SS, he most likely will need to relocate to the county poor house.

It is nice to see people out walking today. No rain, but southern Ohio is flooding.

Good afternoon,

We had some wild weather overnight. I have yet to go out and look around but I bet there is some trees down.

Looks like most of it is now out to the east now.

Sunny and 38 right now.

I see they pushed up the NASCAR race because of the weather moving that way.

I used to give plant tours at Aurora and but never drove a 994 because they were never final assembled in house. They were built then sent out to the field in modules and assembled at the job site. I did drive many 992s. it was like driving a house around. Laugh I would let the VIP customers try it and it was always a hit. A pickup would also fit in the bucket of a 992, just tighter than the 994. No steering wheel. A joystick on the left would steer and shift gears. One on the right controled the lift arms and bucket and you had two brake pedals and an accelerator pedal for your feet.

Roy,

Chuck Angel loved his NASCAR and was always wanting the Chevy to win.

Think of him a lot.  Was here for a long time with us.

Rain spitting off and on.  73 degrees out.

Sunday School, restaurant and Walmart [Wifey wanted to go].  Went to the one in Wake Forest.  As usual in that one, didn't find half what she went for.

Have a great week ahead.

Clouds, sun and very windy this morning. Hi of 50. A very strange February this year.

I help run the modular layout at the so called Great Train Show yesterday. What a bust. Rob you missed nothing and saved money to boot. The layout will be set up at Port Huron but I will not be there. At least it's not on my menu.

Mornin' boys.  Rain and 43 in the Potomac Highlands; creeks and rivers are pretty swollen.  Only thing on tap today is seeing a house middle princess wishes to buy.

We put on an all-day photo freight for some railfans yesterday.  Unfortunately the weather was none to kind, yet they made the most of it.  Wound up setting up at 25 locations along our 16 mile route.  I had more pictures taken of me than my 2 weddings combined.  On top of that, we had a bunch of high school aged kids all dressed up for some kind of fancy winter dance show up at the station to take pics.  We obliged them as best as we could, and Fifey snuck in a few "conductor bomb" pics with the pretty girls...

88- Which day will you be on the train?

Morning All!

It's been another lazy weekend so far.I agree with you, MikeC. This rain isn't helping any to get motivated. I was going to check out the Great Train Show today, but I think I'm going to spend my "allowance" on a set I found online instead.

Lots of flood warnings around here, but we are okay. The sump pump is definitely working overtime. I'm glad I changed it out earlier this year.

Banks - Condolences on your loss.

RT - Yes, Kev's picture is just begging for a Ford joke!! Big Smile

Spank - I was wondering how things were going with your favorite "client".....

Have a good one prayers.

Kev,

I haven't seen one of these at the mine, others thou. I was stationed at Luke AFB, in Arizona outside of Phoenix.  Catipiller had a testing site on the nearby mountains.  (Tank Mountains I believe.)  From the flightline we could see the big equipment working the side of the mountain.

A few thoughts about this guy......

- Its the wrong color, should be yellow.

- The IDEAL vehicle for driving in traffic here.

- Limited passenger seating, (no backseat drivers, which I detest.)

- Would need to get a couple more credit cards for fuel.

- Don't see a problem parking at all!  Just clear an area of buildings, trees, bridges, or whatever would happen to be in the way.

- No concern of CHP or any other law, just toss them aside or run em over.

- No concern of pot holes or sharp curves.

List would go on and on.  Sign me up..  Or maybe just a Demo drive will do.  (Then I wouldn't have to worry about a garage for it.)

Yeah all that would work!!!

Don the white paint is a huge up-grade at cost!!!   Laugh

I remember once some guy wanted teal green metalflake  tractors back in the 70s. We did it but he paid. Someplace in Saudi Arabia. He was a prince or something. It was like an order for 50+ D4s.  And for Rich,,, it was a ugly green!!!  Ick!

Good evening,

I had another busy day of unpacking and making trips to the Salvation Army and the dump. We have way too much stuff. It rained most of the day and I believe more rain is expected for tomorrow. I am ready for wine and relaxation.

Good night,

Joe

Aloha. Grey and cold but warm enough that I could take the pup out for a well-deserved walk. I was fortunate to be in Orlando this week for a conference so I really enjoyed its fine weather. Had a lot of chores to catch up on today especially because the bride is working an all-day band competition at her school. I am going to watch US v. Chile in rugby...

Good afternoon

The  Vet called this morning and tried to beg off the cat apt due to flooding. I told them, that is funny I was just on that street and there is no flooding. So I got to drive an extra 8 miles to take him to the Ottawa office. Good news is that is over and done. They say now he only needs boster shots every 3 years. Huh?

We had never been at that office before and when we got there and walked in the stench about knocked you over. There must of been 50 cats running all over the place and their aroma was there to prove it. Ick!

Watching NASCAR sort of off and on with the cat. Wife went to her mom's and brothers to take some extra food I made for them and to check in.

  Sorry about the SIL BanksAngel

Still 51 and lots of rain this morning. Might make it to 60 today. 60's for the coming week.

The Mrs and I slept in til 10 this morning. Felt good, but it only made up for being awake at 5 am for an hour or so...ugh. Rare to make it though the night.

Water in the garage again - Grumpy

Mike C - remember "Eddie the Eagle"? I'm a fan. As a skier there are very very few who could do even what that young lady did up a 24' vertical wall and not hurt themselves. I like a bit of fun and humor. Hey, and on the light side, she stayed upright unlike most of our Olympic ice skaters!

Brent - times flies! Mine are 24 and 26...

Hey Chuck Angel - NASCAR today and tomorrow!

77 degrees out in February.  Ouch.  Everything blooming and will get a shock, I'm sure.

Went to farms yesterday.  Got a few briar scratches.

Busy this AM and later this afternoon.  Grands suppose to stop by.

Have a good one.

Very early mornin' fellas

Been crazy busy here since the New Year. Lots going on and even more in the works.

Just to make y'all feel old... Matthew turned 5 on Feb 5. Asked him what he wanted to do for his birthday and he said "I just want to go on a train ride", so looked around and none of the SRR are doing trips till next Saturday, so we booked a family lunch trip on WMSRR, unfortunately we won't be able to swing by Fifedom for a visit as TheQ wants to take her father out for dinner for his birthday and prep for her trip to NC that Monday.

Hope this finds everyone in good health and spirit.

Good morning (the clock just passed midnight),

We have been busy the past week or so.   My in-laws moved in with us last Saturday so we spent a few days unloading their U-Haul. On Wednesday, the rest of our household items arrived. Also that day, my wife left town for a cruise. It has been quite hectic unpacking boxes and there are plenty left to do. I will hopefully catch up on the posts this weekend.  I did have a break tonight and took the older two kids to see the Black Panther

Good night,

Good evening all,

Busy day at work.  Good weather for a walk.  Traffic not as bad as last 3 days.  On my soapbox for a moment:  Lot of negative commentary about lady who managed to finangle her way into Olympic competition and perhaps was not the most talented person to be there.  People seem to forget she still had to earn enough points to qualify and she spent a lot of time, money and travel to make all those other events.  She wanted to be an Olympic competitor and she succeeded.  End of soapbox.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana
