Snow Bunnies???
What Snow Bunnies???
Regards, Roy
wrmcclellan Relaxing today. Still beat from the trip.
Relaxing today. Still beat from the trip.
Yes, from chasing all those snow bunnies.
Finally got in the Train Box. Got the two Legacy Powermasters programed in the system. Work great for my conventional engines. Don't use them for command.
Also got the Lionel NS Salute to the Vets engine going. Was a little too close and engine moving too fast for phone to do good focus.

Afternoon all!
56 and cloudy.
The pool guy was able to fix the pump. Replaced the strainer lid and gasket. It is pulling a good suction and the seal is quiet, not leaking, and no funny noises. Fingers crossed.
Relaxing today. Still beat from the trip. Had a great time and my son had fun snowboarding the mountain with my buddy who is an excellent skier.
Dennis - 408 Vega, wowzers! Would like to have seen that!
Morning. Slept late. 53 degrees and going into the 60's.
Train Box today. Get a little done.
Wifey and I are coughing but better.
Banks, good luck on the Oliver.
Have a good one.
Hello there,
lazy this AM, finished February CTT while waiting for Mrs to get up. Haven't got March yet. Maybe today, they tend to come on Saturday.
Need to get a new cell phone. Mine was supplied by work. Since pretty much everything is done it's gonna be cut off the end of the month. Getting to keep the number though. Leaning on a prepaid plan with an S4. Any thoughts?
Started to work on the Oliver's brakes Thursday. Got far enough on one side to confirm the mechanism is stuck. Hoping to finish that project today.
Dogs are pesting for out. Best move on.
Prayers for those in need.

Good evening all,
Thank you for the good response to the Microracer set. Actually it is my daughter's set. It was made in 1989 for K-Mart. Speaking of which, the same daughter is the one we brought home today from St. Louis. She had to make a last check with the doctor about an issue, but they assured everything was normal and it will take time for her to make a full recovery. Her boyfriend is with her this weekend and my wife will be staying with her during the week. Weather was warm but windy today. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Good evening,
I am finally winding down for the night and ready for bed. This was a long week. Tomorrow could be a busy day. I know we will update/connect the older two kids' cell phones in the morning. The wife and princess will attend a baby shower. If I had my layout track plan finalized I would see about getting the wood for the benchwork but I am not quite there with the plan. I might also visit a couple of comic book stores or take the boys to the movies.
Good night,
Joe
Evening all!
Just a quick pop in. It's a rocking Friday night in my house. I'm on the computer and the Mrs. is snoring on the couch!
Fife/Kev - That Tyco US1 set looks pretty cool! I don't recall ever seeing that one. I had a Cox slot car as I kid, but I still preferred my trains.
Jim - I'm looking to do the same in my attic. If the government wants to help pay for some insulation, who am I to stop them! I'm probably paying for it indirectly anyways.
Roy - Fingers crossed with the pool......
Mike C - The Lionel/Micro Racers set is neat! Another one I haven't seen before. Did I miss the '80's??
Rob
Good afternoon all, feeling better today. Coughing a lot less than a week ago. Still working with Dentist. Got temporary crown this week. Permanent one in another week or so. Put some fresh flowers for Helen at the cemetery today and spent a little time there enjoying the sunshine. TCA meet tomorrow in Arcadia and Dixieland Jazz music on Sunday.

Good morning,
Heading to 50 today crazy for January.
I feel like our granddaughter Lexi has outgrown us already at seven and a half. She does not have the drive to be out here very much anymore. Friends, school and other things. They sure grow up fast these days. Grandson Jordan takes up the slack though.
In four days it will be 9 years retired for me. I would not do it any different if I could do it over, Rather not Work! I have seen too many who did not get much retirement or none. Learned that lesson from my dad. Three years and dead. I guess to each his own.
Mike is that your micro racer set pictured in CTT? Cool!
Fife I would be getting a bit mad about no check yet. You got to hold them to the fire most of the time. All they want is you to sign off on the release. I had a great AFX slot car set with G+ cars before my son came along.

Mornin boys. Sunny & 26 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Need to slide by the yard after awhile to tend to some misc. biz. May have supper with folks tonight; they've been feeling bad this week.
Had claims adjuster over yesterday. He took some measurements, but didn't cut any check as of yet...
V8Vega - Your talk of slotcars had me searching Youtube last night. TYCO US1 Trucking sets. I absolutely missed the party on this set-up back in the early 80's. This series has to be one of the coolest items in HO I've ever seen. Intermodal docks, culvert loaders, log loaders, gravel loaders, semi-trailer interchanges, etc... One can hope the folks producing E-Z STREETS borrow a chapter from TYCO's book.
45 degrees out. Warming fast. Off to a freee steak lunch with some politico.
Still coughing dry cough.
Good Morning from 21°F Southern Ohio,
I am at work on my normal day off to support some maintenance activities. No operations, just give the OK for the work to start and verify it is completed when the maintenance folks says it done. It should make for an easy day but it is still a day away from home.
Our house had more insulation added through a project between Columbia Gas and the local Community Action organization. Insulation was added to the attic, knee walls and crawl spaces were sealed. These were items I was going to do, but through some government grant I got the insulation at about half price and the community action folks installed the insulation and did the sealing work. I inspected their work and it was adequate. Over the weekend I’ll verify the finished job in the attic as I did an in-progress check and it was being installed as I would expect.
It is to get up into the 50’s today and remain warm for a few days. The rain predicted for Saturday will wash the salt off the roads.
Roy – sounds like it is time for the Jacuzzi and an adult beverage instead of the slopes and hot cholate.
Mike – Great news, get home safe.
Chief – Great news too!
May God bless
Jim
Uhhhh - the bunny slope kicked me square in the cotton tail today...the up side is I got more time in the bar!
Headed home tomorrow - wife called me this am, held the phone up to the pool pump and said "is it supposed to be making his noise" - uh no - had her turn the system off - so I have a little project when I return - maybe involve 10 large dump trucks of dirt....
Mike C & Chief - good news
I think it was sunny and cool today, but I cannot say that with certainty as I was confined to indoor meetings the entire day. I didn't make it home from work until almost 8 PM. After eating a late dinner and taking care of some house chores, I am now ready to post and get to bed. Tomorrow will be busy; a good friend and colleague will retire from the Air Force after 29 years of service.
Kev - The military-related items in the catalog have my interest.
Great job Roy!
Wonderful weather today. Had to wait over 2 hours for a 30 pill $3.60 prescription to be filled after we were done at the hospital today. If I had not gone "Poppa Bear" on some people, we would still be waiting!!!!! Tried to visit some places in St. Louis afterward, but both efforts were not good. Syberg's is a good place to eat if you ever go there, however. Finally leaving Friday for home. Thank you all for the support. Daughter is doing much, much better. I hope everyone has a good day.
Afternoon. Chilly and breezy mid 40's. Had a 7 AM meeting in Raleigh. Home for a rest. Probably go to train box later.
Specialist sent me a message. Said blood tests incidcate meds working. That is good.
Later.
28 heading to 45 with sun, Cat is out.
Looked over the Lionel catalog and nothing I have to have but do like the A5 switchers, the BNSF Tier 4 set and the CSX Intermodal set.
back from mass.
Roy.....I know what you're saying. My brain wants to do things and my body says NO WAY.......LOL . Biggest reason I quit hillclimbing.
The layout I visited is super detailed and realistic but they follow no schedule. It's run what ya brung or what's there. They make up trains with the 5 finger shifter and let em run. The man has hundreds of engines. Most in glass display cases. Many of them brass. I saw 3 of the Veranda engines with auxiliary tenders in different paint schemes. I first visited 15+ years ago. The layout was about half complete. He mentioned the other night that he built the building it is in 22 years ago as an antique shop but there was so much red tape the antique shop never happened.
Best get on with the day.
Prayers for those in need
Found the bunny slope today!
Mike C - prayers for your trip and your daughters health
Glad to hear most are finally getting over their colds/crud!
The temps dropped today, but only down to the low-40s. Since I spent the entire day indoors at the office, I have no idea if it was sunny or not. I was in meetings all day which means my email inbox is growing. I have more meetings tomorrow and other functions to attend Friday so I will not be clearing any of those emails until Monday. I am ready for bed now.
Made it to St. Louis with some drama. Got delayed by weather, but once we got going we made good time. Will be there until Friday. Weather is much better here. I hope everyone has a good day.
Afternoon All!,
It's "snaining" here too, Doug!
Roy - You're only as "old" as you feel. Have fun on the slopes!!
Don - Remember, no news is better than bad news!
MikeC - Safe travels. Hopefully, my CTT should be here tomorrow or Friday so I can check out your article.
Have a good one and prayers.
Afternoon fellasJust checkin' in to see how things are going.Prayers for those in need

Morning guys,
Cold and cloudy and I guess the roads are covered with ice. A lot of late school openings due to roads.
I see used Sno-Way hand held wireless controllers go for over $200.00 on E-bay so I think I will list the one I have as soon as the one there sells or just undercut that guy's buy it now price. Maybe get some of my money back? I have not listed anything in a long time.
Wife is doing better every day.
The crockpot chicken noodle soup yesterday turned out real good.
Aloha. Cold and 'snainy' - it can't decide to snow or rain by the lake. But that's supposed to go away... Roy, I like what you did there - no country for old men. LOL. That trip sounds fun. Not sure how I would do with 'real' skiing these days if I had the chance. Kev, your snowplow comments remind me that I meant to find / create a plow front for Ivor (the 0-4-0 - a converted Percy - who is the theme of my layout) this season and I haven't done it yet - that would be an interesting project.
Don, glad everything is quiet out west.Banks, does the HO operator you visited run a full 'operating' session? - they can be fun.Chief, DougDG, I hope you are all feeling better...DJ, does your Rutgers tailgater ever go on the road?
Doug Murphy 'We few, we happy few, we band of brothers...' Henry V.
Survived day 1 on the slopes. Park City has no beginner runs were I usually confine myself at my age. The other place I have been like this is Jackson Hole.
This is no country for an old man...
It was another nice day here. I think our high reached the mid-60s and there was some sun. I spent most of the workday doing paperwork and the next two days will be full of meetings. I have not exercised in about two weeks and I can feel it; I am more tired than usual. I need to get to bed soon as I want to be out of the house early tomorrow to avoid any traffic. I glanced through the catalog and the military-related items sparked my interest. I will have to investigate those further.
Roy - Have fun!
Mike C. - I hope the drive to St. Louis goes well and all goes as planned.
quick check on the way to bed.
Don.....always glad to hear from you.
Went to Ebensburg last evening to see an amazing HO layout. Been there a couple of times before. The owner has "train running" every Monday. All are invited. Had to leave when they were just getting started so it wasn't to late getting to bed.
Sent a beef to the butcher shop this AM. Not much going on.
Had to move the Oliver yesterday. That reminded me both brakes are dragging. Hopefully all they need is some lube on the linkage after sitting for 5 years.
Bed is calling.
