Good Evening,

Not much to report on here, no job - so no work stuff, no snow, not very cold, no rain, no medical issues going on, no new trains or related stuff, no major crimes I'm aware of. No exciting news from Chris, he is just working at the mine.  No trips planned.  Hmmm, why am I taking up every ones time.  I don't even know that.

Oh, glad to hear Mike's daughter did well, and Joe and family made it back to the states!  Hope the Chief, his wife, and Kev's wife feeling better soon.  Also that Roy, Ray, & Doug (dg) continuine to improve.

So have a good evening and be safe.

Good evening all,

Colder today. Walk was chilly.  Work was semi-busy.  Getting ready for trip.  Joe, welcome back to the states.  Rob, I agree on the new Lionel catalog.  May spring for a six pack of 2 bay hoppers, but that would be about it.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Afternoon all!

Wow. It's dropped about 20 degrees since this morning. Getting some freezing rain/flurries at the moment.

Not much on the go. I gave the 2018 Lionel catalog a once over. Again, nothing really jumped out at me. Maybe a few autoracks got my interest , but I'm not sure I want to drop $100 each on them.

The youngest is going on a 2 day "camping" trip for school tomorrow. She has to be at the school for 5:40am. That should be interesting.

Kev - I should get around to doing the same to my emails. I'll be honest, I sometimes go months without doing anything and I've hit 5 digit numbers at one time!

Joe - Nice to hear you're settling in, somewhat.

Have a good one.

Rob

Good morning,

Doug is right but less snow for us away from the lake..

You guys on the east coast are getting our yesterday's weather. Got up to just enough snow to cover the ground and 32 degrees.

Got the snowplow working yesterday with the new brain and controller so now it won't snow and that would be just fine!! At least I will be ready if it does.

Making crockpot chicken noodle soup. Not much else.

Aloha. Cold and snowy after yesterday's warm and rainy. But this is 'lake-effect' snow and won't last more than a day or two. Welcome back to the States, Joe! Spent a nice evening after work puttering around the layout - I noticed Ivor is occasionally derailing on a certain curve so I'll be experimenting with shimming it.

Good evening all,

Very quiet day at work.  Change of plans for the week.  Going to St. Louis Wednesday and bringing daughter home Thursday.  Hope the doctors do not change their minds....again.   Work has been quite understanding, but this plays havoc with all sorts of planning.  Ugh.   Weather was good for walk today.  Got gas at 2.39 before it jumped to 2.69.  Yea!  I hope everyone has a good day.

Good evening,

The weather here has been quite pleasant and I think it reached the low 60s this afternoon. I spent around an hour in the office today and then spent a few hours enrolling the kids in school. The youngest will start tomorrow but the older two will not start until the 30th since that is when the high school here begins its next semester. After meeting with their counselor today, the older two are a bit more excited about this school. It also has plenty of activities and clubs.  Tomorrow will be my first full day in the office and I know it will be busy.

Fife/Chief - Thanks for the information.  Fife, I have not watched any NFL games since Week 2.

Banks - Congratulations to the granddaughter.

Kev - I am glad you are feeling better.

Major - This area seems like a great place to live.

Good night,

Joe

A rainy morning but it reached 50 this afternoon. 10 day forcast doesn't show anything real nasty, that gets us into February and closer to March. Shopping and haircuts today with about a thousand potholes per mile.

Good morning,

Somehow I wiped out all my e-mails in the inbox, outbox, and trash?? Oh well, I needed to clean house anyway. Laugh

I see the snowplow brain will show up today so I will install that later. Wife wants to make homemade Chicken soup tomorrow so she is going to get fixings for it. I think she just wants to get out of the house. She is better but has the cough like Chief's wife that is holding on tight.

That 11.5 hours I slept last night in the spare room sure helped me. I was so short of sleep from all of her hacking and coughing at night for the last two weeks. I think I will sleep in there tonight to. The cat don't know what to think about it.

Roy, don't break a leg. Surprise

Lunch time!   Dinner

Sunny and warm.  Still just hanging around and resting.  Wifey still not good. Me not well, but never like she was/is.  Mostly hateful cough.

Got a meeting at Town Hall at 1.  Then back home.

Specialist apt. tomorrow and see how my special "thing" is going. ????  I really think the strong meds Sat. night made me worse.

Later.

Lazy day here.  Went to church last night so stayed home this morning.  Ate out  last night with friend at Mexican place.  Pretty plain Mexican food but it was OK.  I think we have been there too much.  Everything is beginning to taste alike now.  Eating at home tonight with chicken, potato salad and cole slaw from the deli at the super market.  Easy supper.  Cool weather here but sunny.  It was a nice day.

Good evening all,

Only did 5 miles today.  1:21.10 was the time.  Did the first four in 1:04 so I really slowed down the last mile.  Got the desk in the house.  Watched the Premiere League match on Telemundo.   Daughter is doing ok with some minor complications.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Hello there,

Welcome home Joe.

RJ.......odds are it needs a starter. Sounds like what happened to me on the way to the beach last summer

been so busy doin nuttin I haven't taken time to post.

Spent a couple hours two different days introducing new company to former customers. Seemed to be well accepted. Especially the fact that the faces showing up to do the work will be the same.

Also spent several hours relocating a 30amp 3 phase circuit and changing it to single phase for a new  (to the school) steam table. This is part of preparation for the lent end seafood buffet. Lent is early this year. Feb 16 is the 1st one. Easter on April 1st.

Now having late lunch. Spent the day at a twirling competition. Grandaughter got a 1st and 2nd.

Best move on.

Prayers for those in need

You CA guys.  Just saw a new word on the rifle forum.  Pretty good one.  Kalifornistan. Wink

Reason I didn't do a PS to above.  When I typed the 5 on I 95 above, type went to bold.  Will not change back.  Just love this software.

Joe, Fifey is right on Ashland.  Worked the Bass Pro Shops there [between Ashland and Richmond on I 95].  Trains run right through the town.  Have neat walkways across the tracks so you can go to one side of the street and to the other.  Then go to Bass Pro for a visit and a meal [great seafood and etc.].

Mornin' boys.  Overcast and 57 along the Patterson Creek cut-off.  Since I won't be watching playoffs (*Have not watched anything NFL related since 9/24), I'll be working in the train room.

Demay-  Things train related near you.  Stop by Ashland, VA.  The old RF&P (CSX) runs right down the middle of town.  It is the neck of the north-south bottle, so lots of action.  Also, check out Doswell, VA, where the Buckingham Branch RR (C&O) crosses over CSX.  Might even want to go into the Squashapenny.  Annnnd, King's Dominion is plopped down right between those two towns.

Hope all are doing OK.

Prayers for Ray and sister, Dennis and Dougsnotagrump.

Enjoy the day.

I have friends who live in Springfield, and my Army Reserve unit was at Ft Belvior just down I 95. However I like Gettysburg better as it is far cheaper to live here than in Northern VA. I used to live in Manassas and Leesburg. VA,

Good morning,

The weather here in Springfield, VA, is quite nice.  It is partly cloudy and the high will be in the mid-50s.  We may visit a park that is located near our house.  We need to get the boys outside for a few hours so they can burn off energy.   I might also see if there are tickets available for the Capitals-Flyers game today; I believe we can take the train there in less than an hour.  The only other item to do today is some grocery shopping.  Next Sunday we will begin looking for a church to attend after I have time to see what is out there.

Congrats to Buckeye!

Enjoy your Sunday,

Joe

Good evening,

The family and I made it to VA and have moved into our rental house. Our household goods will not arrive for about a month but we have enough in the house now to survive: cots, sleeping bags, cookware, internet, etc. I will get back into the swing of posting tomorrow.

Good night,

Joe

Most snow melted.  56 degrees in the shade now.  60 tomorrow and next week.

I'm a lot better than when I got home last night.  Wifey was worse.  Went to Dr.  Took meds and gone to bed.  did go out and pickup her meds as not ready when she went by.

Being lazy and watching movies.

Stay warm and well.

Morning all!

Morning started in the mid-50's and it looks like it will hit the mid to high 60's today. 83% humidity. Supposed to rain tomorrow when a front hits this wet air.

Some errands to run today. Nothing big. Dinner last night with the neighbors was fun. We ended up at one of the neighbors for adult beverages after. Good fun.

Morning all!

So far a nice quiet morning, just sipping on my coffee. When you're up at 5 for work, it's hard to sleep in on the weekends. Forecast looks good, looking to hit 40ish and sunny today.

MikeC - Great news about your daughter. Prayers for a quick recovery.

Roy - Chinese and a BYOB restaurant. Love it!! I really have to get back to Texas one of these days.

Spank - "Meatchicken" Laugh I haven't heard that one for awhile! Usually the OSU and MSU fans aren't as kind. My brother-in-law, a few buddies and myself started doing a Big Ten road trip a few years ago, instead of always going to Ann Arbor. We might have to circle November 10th for this years trip.......

Don - You were right. I was too ambitious trying to finish my projects over Christmas. With the "mild" weather today, I'm going to finish cutting the tile and get that tub surround done!

Have a good one and prayers to those in need.

Good evening all,

Thanks again, everybody.  Work was very quiet today and the weather was warm enough to do the entire circuit I normally do.  Went to local historical society for film show from various times in the community.  Most are silent reels shot on home cameras and transferred to digital.  There was one from when RFK came to town in 1968.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,
