Evening all!

Day started around 29 and only made it to 51 (not 58 as predicted yesterday). They are still saying 69 tomorrow. We'll see, wind is starting to blow from the south.

Wife and I finally made it to the latest Star Wars movie this afternoon. Really enjoyed it. Obviously they signaled many many more to come at the end of the movie.

Headed out for Chinese food with neighbors. And it's a BYOB place!

MikeC - so happy your daughter's surgery went well! Prayers for her successful recovery!

Regards, Roy

The thaw is starting here!

Got to take the wife to the dentist this afternoon and when she is there I will go to Menards and get new whole house water filters.

Mike, prayers for a perfect outcome for your daughter.

Morning Fellas

I'm not sure bringing drama from other forums here is a wise thing. I'll keep my comments about those mentioned to myself.

Roy - the deconstruction is going faster than I anticipated. Since I'm halfway done I've started to get more and more comments from TheQ and the kiddos. Seems this is not viewed as a good thing, and I didn't realize how much sentiment the kids had tied to it. Sigh I tried to explain that we will have a layout that we can all play with, and it will be sooner rather than later. I kind of figured Christina would have more emotion tied to it, seeing that she and I did quite a bit of the scenery together. I am salvaging as much as I can. Most of the plaster rock formations we made weren't able to make it, but I was able to save a few. Told her it just gives us a reason to make more, which she liked. Smile

Mike - prayers for your daughter's surgery and recovery.

Rob if you want to PM me with your e-mail address and city I'll forward it to the member that keeps the guest list current.

25/35 for today. I'm looking forward to some snow melt, only a couple inches to go. Maybe this time I'll get more than 1 day of green before it snows again.

Thanks Fifey.  Downspouts have pipes taking the water away.  New addition was piped down hill.   They dug trenches and put in pipes.  Open ended down hill.

Thanks.

Mornin' boys.  Partly cloudy and 27 in the Potomac HIghlands.  Wifey going to oldest Princess's home to watch grandsons for a week.

Spent yesterday in the train room working on the "high" line.  An old Atlas 40" long truss bridge will span one aisle, 54" above the ground, and another stretch of this line will travel across a 50" long wood trestle bridge.  Running out of lumber and pergoo.

cheapclassics Angel for your girl.

Chief - If you got 10" of snohizo on the ground, might want to start at your downspouts and trench away from the house.  With the weekend warm up and rain, got to direct that wetness away from foundation.

Morning.  Roy, all three lanes are open as were scrapped right after I posted.  Two trucks came through twice.  Another piece of equipment went by earlier this AM.  Thawed a lot yesterday.  More already today.

I guess Joe is in the USA?  Maybe hear from him soon.

Good thaw Kev.  Glad to hear.

Later.

Good evening all,

I did move from both but I am still close enough to hear them from time to time.  And Pain two was definitely the worse by far.   Finally got the puzzle done last night.  Whew.  Was a little warmer today.  Work was quiet today, which is good.  Went for a walk and it could be a lot warmer still.  One last thing.  Please keep my younger daughter in your thoughts and prayers.  She has surgery for TOS in St. Louis (very specialized practice) and will have a rib removed to prevent seizures in her arms.   This is the one who goes to the 500 with me.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Hi All!

Just popping in for a quick check. The "dog days" of winter are starting to kick in. Ugh...

Jim H. - Welcome!

Kev - Like the "snow plow" pics!!

Spank - Sorry, that was me on the message board. GO BLUE!!!! Big Smile Seriously though, it is frustrating when those blur the lines with the "right" to free speech and being a jerk (not my first choice of word, but ironically I don't want Bob K. to give me a time out either!)

Sir James - I missed the meteor, but I enjoyed the latest D3R video I saw "elsewhere". Rumor it is was you working the coal loader. I know the membership is closed, but if there's ever an open house somewhere, I would be very interested.

Have a good one.

Good afternoon from sunny 34°F Southern Ohio,

Crews are still scraping roadways and walkways on the plant site.  The kids had a 2 hour delay this morning as it was 9°F.  Hopefully the sun will hit more of the driveway at home.  The drive is tree lined on the west side so it does not get much sun.

I’m starting a management course the diocese wants me to take.  It is an on-line course with 6 classrooms starting this Saturday and finishing March 24.  The classes are a 100 miles north in Columbus.  We’ll see where it goes.

Kev – I like your John Deere snow removal equipment.  A littler classier looked than the home brew you posted pics of ingenious as they may be.  The deer rack on the roof rack is a nice touch!

Don – I remember the DVD drive in from our visit a couple years ago

Spanky – Tyler is about the size of our Felicity; she is the oldest but the smallest.  She is kind of a picky eater.

May God bless

Jim

Chief, They say above freezing next two days and 51 for us on Sunday so that should get us back to no snow. But 8 weeks or more before anything like you will have by tomorrow afternoon. Tongue Tied

Snow melting fast.  Yes, Kev, will be gone by tomorrow afternoon or Sat.  60's on the way.

Staying warm.

Chief, If that's the case won't Roseyville be abdandond pretty quickly??  Or is it that everyone is being trapped and can't get out?

15 heading to 32, lots of sun. A heat wave for us!!.

Nothing new here.

Chief, by the time I could get there it will be gone! Wink

Robocalls are big here as well. All are phone calls show up on our TV screen and if I don't know the number I just pick up and hang up. Sometimes I will answer and act like I am a nut case till they hang up just to waste their time. Smile, Wink & Grin Other time I will tell them they should get a real job and not be a dirt bag then they hang up on me. Laugh

Morning all!

19 at 8 am this morning, but rising quickly and to hit 45 this afternoon! Yes!

Cleaned out some more file drawers and eliminated another drawer full of unneeded paper. almost done with this project. Also got some reorg done in the home office. Still a ways to go to get the non-paper clutter off the desk.

Chief - Yeow - 10" of snowhizo in Rosyville????

88 - yes, planning on York in the spring. Good luck with the layout deconstruction.

Mike C - I thought you moved away from pains 1 & 2 last year?

Don - we solved robocalls to a good degree. We no longer answer the phone. Calls dropped off after a few months. If it is important/real call they leave a message. Now we only get the calls allowed (by the do not call rules) by "campaigns" & "charities". We do not answer those either. A "charity" that calls a couple times a week vs once a year is not legitimate. Just think, if we could get everyone to not answer their phone when caller ID shows nothing recognizable all these illegitimate calls/telemarketers would go away.

Morning.  Seems Dan has got his layout going again.  I can't find mine.  17 degrees and 10" of snow.  Need Kev's rig to do drive and streets.  DOT has only scraped one side of the street.  Can't understand why.  Wink  Think they will be busy for a few days.  Suppose to go above freezing today and then warmer tomorrow.

Later.

Good Evening,

Had a good day.  Talked with John Fullerton, accomplished some stuff on the layout, and experiencing a reduction in robo calls.

BTW, Kevin that is one fantastic looking garage, and very well appointed as well.

The Fullertons are doing OK, both are fighting the flu and seem to be on top of it.

I have an older portable DVD player that I use as a "Drive-In" on the layout.  Also have a 19" flat screen TV in the train room. And of course a DVD/VHS player.  So the task is to get everything to play everywhere.  Took some doing, but had success.  So its really cool, have "Gone With the Wind" at the Drive-In, and Train videos on the flat screen.  Or the same thing on both.  Really like it.

We get bombarded with the Robo calls, as many as 8-12 per day!  I initiated a conversation with one of the callers, and they told me it would take some time, but tell the caller we are "renting" and not the home owners.  So far this week its been down to one or two per day, and soon as I mention we are renting, they immediately hang up.

Unfortunately, another house is slipping off a cliff as a result of the mudslides.  The house is a huge 3 story house in Malibu.

Saw the movie "The Post" last night, it is pretty good, really enjoyed it.

Hope everyone is feeling better, take care talk to you all later.

Evenin' Fellas

Been busy with projects at work! Very busy. TheQ worked crazy hours last week and I pulled single Daddy duty, and on top of all that I was able to work on the layout dismantle project and now have 5 segments out and the addition I installed that eliminated 1/2 of the walk area on one side of the layout. Just have the 4 segments where the 3 levels of track were. Probably have it down this weekend.

Have some stuff to take care of then I will start building the new under the Christmas tree layout that we will use throughout the year and take with us when we move.

Fife - that could have been a lot worse than it was. Hope the repairs go quickly and some normalcy returns.

Sucks about Mr Bakker... we lost another good one.

Hope to see every one at York in April.

Good evening all,

Busier day than expected today.  Pain two is gone for 4 weeks plus for some medical stuff.  Peace and tranquility!   The puzzle is 1000 pieces and nothing Saturday Evening Post covers (Norman Rockwell).  No theme or continuity at all.  Ugh.  Weather was better.  Did not go the complete circuit today, but more than Tuesday.  No soccer with kids tonight (maybe 2 hour delay?).  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Afternoon/evening all!

Was 14 when I got up this morning. Made it to 34. Went out for some errands, felt like a heat wave. Hey - supposed to hit 70by Friday!!!!

DJ - do some interviews for jobs less desired is indeed good practice for when the good job opening comes along. Good luck to Linda!

Dennis - yes it is amazing how we elect folks and then they do nothing to actually represent us. I am dealing with a very fiscally ignorant city area representative/councilman.

Today was a good day. About the same as yesterday. Not bad all things considered.

Took a pair of old Red Wing steel toed boots to Red Wing today. They repair them. Send them back to the factory. Not cheap, but much less than a new pair. Had to stand in some water and part of the sole separated. They take a long time to break in so this is a good deal.

Good morning, Seems like everyone is up and getting around.

That must of been neat to see SJ.

Like Doug said.

Sunny -2 heading to 18 no new snow. and things should warm up tomorrow.

SS payday so off to Krogers after lunch.

Feel a little better today, wife is in the bedroom still hacking but not near as much. Wish she would give up the darn cigs. They can't help.

Chief, when your 1/2 mile from the road you got to have equipment.Wink

Morning.  Was sick late Monday night until 11 yesterday.  Not sure if bug or food I got at restaruant.  Not fun.  Tummy mussels sore from throwing up.  Doing good today.

35 degrees and snowing.  Temps to drop.  Schools closed.

Slept good yesterday evening and then slept till 8:30 this AM.  Unusual.

Kev, that is a nice rig you have.

All stay warm and dry.

I have seen the light.

A meteor soared from the sky with a bright flash and a big Ka-boom yesterday evening. Lots of Pictures on TV this morning.

We started at 7 degrees going to 25. A little warmer for the weekend so they say.

Mornin' boys.  Snohizo and 19 along the Patterson Creek cut-off.  Already shoveled most off of drive, and helped my garbage man load all the ruined carpet.  Usually I would have the pellet stove rolling, but not cool at all inside.

Wifey and I did venture to Lowe's, where I picked up 3 very sturdy storage shelf units, and she started looking at replacement carpet.  Still back-and forth with insurance company trying to get an adjustor to come out...  Room is pretty much dried out, and ready for drywall man to do his thing.
