Sun and 87 today, I guess the snowblower can be set aside for now.

Me I bought a liner. Cost more but no hassle, no painting or cleaning and it's done in 30 minutes.

Evening all!

Another warm day and very windy. Same for tomorrow and maybe rain on the weekend.

Really tired today and was able to take a late afternoon nap. That helped.

Grilled some chicken thighs for dinner. Ate outside on the porch. It was nice with the constant breeze.

Again - Dennis - safe travels! Air travel raises my anxiety levels...I have well over a million miles with lots of Europe, Australia, and S America/Mexico. Air travel is much much worse now. At least until around 2004 I had good leg room, they still served meals on long flights, the steward/stewardesses were fairly pleasant, and I regularly got upgrades when I traveled a lot.

Good evening all,

AJ's team had all 3 in the top 8 of the 21 that took laps in windy conditions today.  My soccer team won its first game 3-1.  My "sidekick" almost had a goal and I almost had an assist.  We both played well and I think we have a good team.   Took wife to Anderson Falls after the match and she enjoyed that as well.  Work was quiet and it is still dry so far.  "All in all, it was a pretty good day."  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Evening all!

Well I broke down and fired up the A/C for the first time this season. Up to 88 today and then back down to 53 tomorrow. No wonder everyone around here is getting sick!

Dennis - I hear you with your flying concerns. My wife and I flew down to Florida last week and we were wondering if there would be "passenger roulette" on our flight! The one good thing was we qualified for TSA Pre-check which makes life a lot easier and quicker going through security.

I treated myself to a pre-birthday treat by ordering the fire station and the new auto carrier from Menard's. I can't guarantee that it won't be re-decorated into Los Angeles County Fire Station 51!! Big Smile I wish the Code 3 fire trucks were 1:48, not 1:64.

Have a good night and prayers to all in need.

Good evening all,

Quiet day at work.  Good weather for a walk.  Went to the latest King Arthur flick.  Not worth the money.  Too much special effects and not enough plot and dialog.  AJ's team back in normal place today.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mornin' boys.  Warm & humid in the Potomac Highlands.  Spent yesterday prepping newly painted passenger cars for this weekend's trips.  Will be ON the trains wearing a new hat this weekend as well.

Wifey and I finished scrubbing down the deck and downspouts.  Gonna have to stay on top of things, as this side faces north, and the woods.  Any tips?  Orioles are still around.

My parents insisted on buying lumber for the new layout, so Dad and I made a trip to Lowe's.  Concentrated on benchwork needs, not plywood.

Aloha. It was in the high 70s yesterday and today may not break 50! More like March than May. We've had stormy weather though - a twister touched down about 15 miles away the other night. Today's big news is the youngest has his first dance. Glad you can go back to work, Buckeye. And the boat goes in. Double-bonus! Safe travels, Dennis. I am glad I do not have to fly often.

Morning guys,

Back home fron the great white north and all that goes with it, Cold, rain, and Ticks. Tongue Tied But we got the LP tanks there with no problems so it was good.

Doug, we went through Marengo IL. on the way home yesterday and there was a lot of storm damage. One Barn was flat to the ground. At home we did not even get any rain but Sandra said the wind was bad. I could tell we had sticks and small limbs all over the yard.

Felt good to sleep in my own bed last night.

Summer yesterday with the AC running and it is 45 out there and the heat is on,  Huh?

Changed the John Deere over to mower mode and cut two sections yesterday after I got back and one with the little 48" Husqvarna. Then Sandra and I went to Sandie's tap and got dinner. They have a great Teriyaki smothered  Grilled chicken breast covered with Swiss cheese, pineapple chunks and sweet teriyaki sauce. . Dinner Beer

Got to do one more big grass section today and around the house.

Grocery shopping later today and maybe a trip to the Richie auction site to see what they will be selling tomorrow. So I can decide if there is anything I need to spend my SS money on that Buckeye is so kind to supply to us. Laugh

I too got burn't out on air travel when I was working for mother Cat. Travel

Best get to it.

Good morning all!

Cloudy and we have had some rain. Temps may go into 70's for a couple of days after the front passes. Friends of ours are at their summer place in Estes Park CO. They posted pictures of heavy snow yesterday.

Glad Dennis and Kevs travels went well.

Buckeye - congrats for you (working) and the Chief (SS)!

Doug M & Robm - good to hear from you!

Fife - if your folks are in a buying mode I can get you a list!

FifeI take it you are talking about the north side mold?

Round-up will kill it on the roof shingles and the deck boards. And then it will wash off. Just got to make sure you don't get the round-up on anything you don't want dead.  PS don't walk on the stuff and then walk through your yard or you will leave dead grass footprints.Surprise

Mornin' Fellas

Been mega busy with work, same with TheQ so we've decided to have a company come and clean the house. Took us about 4 hours to declutter and put stuff away! Thinking we could have dusted and vacuumed in that time as well... oh well. They'll be coming every other week as well. Guess it will force us to put stuff away and not having to clean will save us some time on the weekends.

Parents are coming this weekend, so there is that as well.

Buckeye - glad you are on the mend!

Christina has decided she wants to play soccer in the Fall, so got to get her registered for that. TheQ wants her to try other sports, but she really likes soccer, told TheQ to let her decide what she wants to do... otherwise she may not want to do anything. Whistling

Kevin thats funny dead foot prints through the yard. I could see that.

For the money your truck looks great and as a deal you probably really did better than I did. But because of traveling and all I wanted a truck with onstar which ment I had to go 2008 or newer. and the difference between this truck and a 2011 I was looking at was just a few thousand and the interest rate at the other place was out of this world. So I bought this one a 2014. This is loaded with just about everything. So why the original owner never put a bed liner in it sure beats me. I don't know for sure but I would bet this one was over $35,000 new. Anyway here is a pic of my new to me truck.

I'm very happy with it. First time I ever had a truck with a 110v outlet in it. ( they 150W or less use. )

Train front not much got in a used Cab1L set up minus box and instructions. Downloaded instructions from Lionel site. Need to test it but the guy said it came off a working layout. not bad for $75 + $13.50 shipping.

Otherwise all is going as expected. Talk to you all later

RT..

3 years old, it was probably a rental. Nobody spends extra money on a rental.Probably why there is no liner.

Nice truck RT and the new body style to.

I was checking Rust warrenty info and saw this. Looks like Unless the rust pops a hole through the metal before the truck is 6 years old I an screwed on them fixing it. The fine print. Angry

http://www.chevrolet.com/owners/warranty

Damage Due to Bedliners

Owners of trucks with a bedliner, whether after-market or factory installed, should expect that with normal operation the bedliner will move. This movement may cause finish damage. Therefore, any damage caused by the bedliner is not covered under the terms of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. The factory spray in bedliner (RPO CGN) is not covered for a loss of shine and luster or fading. Refer to the Owner’s Manual for more information on spray in bedliner maintenance.

I don't use bed liners at least not the drop in kind. I do have a rubber floor mat in my 2011 Silverado. On my Dakota I had the Rino Liner and liked that.

Clicked on something today and it pulled up a microsoft scam and locked up my PC. Told me to call a number at Microsoft and it was not microsoft so I used my laptop to get a real Microsoft guy and fix the issue, Seems it was only a issue on Firefox  and took a un-install and clear the last 2 hours of history to rid me of it. So much for those two hours of my life. Bang Head

Hello all

Back at work for another week. Flying solo for the rest of the season (~month). They pulled my co-worker to work in  the lab downtown.

A nice day here on the hill.

Bill and I got the left head back on the '65 4-dr Corvair and got it started. Changed the oil too. We need to adjust the valves on the head that came off next week.

The tire place got the other four rims in and the tires I wanted for the van. They didn't have time to get them mounted on Tues before I had to head back to work. When I went to pay for them, I told them I didn't have time to put them on anyway:) We will then swap the 14" rims from the van on to the 4-dr.

Worked w/ the student intern last week a bit. We made the garbage run to the dump. A first for him, he said the dump wasn't quite what he expected:) We then put the trailer at the 18th St yard so Gene could get rid of a couple of old sheds. Got a good look at the '52 Twin Coach/Fruehauf Air Force bus. That is a cool machine. Basically a Fruehauf trailer on a Twin Coach chassis w/ the front of the trailer having windows and lights.

Oh, and I finally pulled the old radio antenna out of the van. The nut is missing and it has been poking up out of the front for the nearly 9 years since I have owned it. Cable was broken so I picked up a new one at a local FLAPS I think should work. The original radio still turns on so I am hoping w/ the new antenna it may work.

RT - nice truck!

Kev - I think you made out pretty good on your Ranger. I had an '88 Ranger I liked a while back. Sold it when I bought the big Dodge diesel to tow my park model I had at the time. I helped a friend take out a plastic bedliner of her truck and after I saw the damage it caused to the paint I swore that I would never use one. I hate how stuff slides around in those things too. Gene has one in his truck and every time he hits the brakes hard my toolboxes go all the way to the front!

Dennie - would like to chat w/ you about air guns some day.

Time to go to work.

Hello there,

been a long week.

Son cut the 1st hay af the season Monday. It was pretty heavy and the weather wasn't the best so it took till Thursday to dry.It was round baled due to lack of help.

Monday evening I broke down and used Son's zero turn to mow grass. I couldn't get the the old walk behind to make spark. None of the Gravely's have a mower deck on.

Tuesday evening one of Mrs' nephews helped me cut one of several Ash trees that need removed thanks to the  Emarald Ash Borer. It's on the ground but still needs cleaned up. Want to put the saw on the Oliver before the drags in the morning start the cleanup after.

I'm pretty sure I wasted my time and money treating the borer. Even the smaller ones are starting to show the effects of the them.

Ortho doc gave me some pills that sure help to keep my shoulder moving.

Sunday we have half of beef to wrap and put in the freezer.

Think I'm goin t bed soon.

Prayers for those in need

Banks,, All of our Ash are dead thanks to that Emarald Ash Borer as well. No hope and everyone I know that treated lost them to.

We have lost about 30% + of our woods from that. Some of the largest and best trees we had. Sad. Just trying to get the dead away from the house, the ones that can hit us. Crying

 Take care of the shoulder

Good evening all,

Brent, your daughter is wise beyond her years in her sports selection.  I heartily endorse her choice of that all-American sport.   (That last sentence was for the benefit for the Chief.)   Foyt team had another disastrous as Veach tagged the wall in the 40 car.  Work was spent all day at a conference.  Actually informative for once.   Wife and I spent an hour and a half getting stuff ready and loaded into van to take to Lucas so they can sell it at a yard sale next month.   Going to see grandson play a baseball game tomorrow, weather permitting.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mornin' boys.  Cloudy and 68 along the Patterson Creek cut-off.  Today's 1130 trip will contain a gondola full of Boyscouts and bikes.  We take them up to Frostburg, then they cruise 16 miles downhill back to Cumberland.  Looking forward to it.

Kev - Thanks for the tip, but the Round-Up may be too caustic for the grass below.  We used Scrubbing Bubbles with good results to clean.

Roy - It was out of the blue, to be sure.  Send your list and I'll forward it to them...  Scooped up a couple dozen pressure treated 1x1's, pre-cut to 42", at 97 cents each.  They will make excellent benchwork legs.

Morning. Been hot sun here. Watered yesterday afternoon and this AM. Radar showed we had a big storm yesterday afternoon. Not a drop nor a thunder. Radar way off. ??????? Did spray Grady's unplanted part of his garden as weeds were taking over. Since it didn't rain, I know it is rain proofed.

Got a fish fry invite to the New Bethel Church where I help support their food pantry. Tomorrow afternoon is seafood for my Sheriff buddy's kickoff campaign for 2018 race. Glad he is not retiring.

I see Buckeye is going back to work.  Work?  That is a joke.  He never has.

Fifey, I use Chlorox in my water.  Let it sit.  If worried about the grass, wet down good before the above.  Then rinse off with pressure washer [Harbor Freight has a good cheap electric one for vehicles and projects like this].  All the water will keep the strong Chlorox from hurting grass.

Have a good one.

Morning all!

Enjoying a nice quiet morning. Everyone else is still in bed! Should be back up to high 60s today. I was looking at the 7 day forecast and the graph looks like a roller coaster at Cedar Point!! Ugh... Getting together for a BBQ with my family and a few "pops" later with my buddies for my birthday.

All of the car and truck talk here lately is making want to get back working on my Camaro. I really should get motivated to get the garage cleaned up and get at it.

Prayers to all in need and have a great day.

Afternoon all!

Rain/cool front on the way for tonight. Sunny and humid.

Got the boat back last night. Shoved it in the garage. Got up early and prepped it for launching. A buddy came over and we got her in the water and on the boat lift on the dock. Whew. Beat as I did not sleep but about 4 hrs last night.

Happy B-Day robm!

Morning all, quiet day here so far.  Not sleeping well due to skin irritation.  Been seeing a dermtologist for some time now.  My youngest son just got back from a trip to Thailand with his wife.  They were celebating  one year anniversary.  They are off again this week end to attend a weding in the bay area.  It will be three weeks by the time I have seen him.  Our church is having there annual festival this week end.  My other son and his wife are helping out at one of the booths.  They decided to have $200 raffle tickets this year with a grand prize of $20.000 instead of smaller cost tickets which cost a lot to handle.  This sounds too ambitious to me but I hope they make it.  I might buy one if the don't sell enough by today.  I have never won in 30 years or more so I would just consider it a donation.  Have a nice weekend.

Good afternoon from beautiful sunny 80°F Southern Ohio

We are boxing up our stuff for the move.  The kids are being good about boxing up their stuff for the most part.  So far not including train boxes there are 40 boxes!  We close this coming Tuesday, and will take possession by the end of the month.  I'm meeting with a contractor to see about building a second garage on Tuesday also.

RT – When I bought my 2003 3500 GMC it had a Line – X spray in liner and I really like it.  With the spray in liners, it is more about the skill of the installer than the product.

Got to run,

May God bless

Jim

Good evening all,

Long day.  Grandson's game postponed due to weather.  Delivered yard sale stuff.  Delivered mattress for grandson.  Good day for most part.  Foyt team did as expected in first round of time trials (not well).  I hope everyone has a good day.
