Good evening all,

Quiet but busy day at work.  Good weather for walk.  We got pounded tonight 8-2.  I did ok for me, but it was a total team effort in the loss.  At least my "sidekick" was not there to endure it as well.  Anjdevil2, perhaps things will be better in the long run.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Well, tis the last Day O May and I figured I'd pop in during break.

Did a yard sale with some of the collectables and sold nothing.  Not even the Hot Wheels.  Did go to King of Prussia and met up with a G gauge guy and sold my 2 engines to him.  Did some time at Dave and Busters for some R & R.

BIG blow op with the now EX-GF, she wanted some truths and, like Nicholson said (a nice Jersey Boy) she couldn't handle it so I'm single and ready to mingle.  It had been coming for a long time - yes, Fife, your sage advice was appreciated!!

Sunday was laundry day and a nice ride on the RoadStar which was nice going to Egg Harbor but cold and windy on the way back.

Sunday I was in the fire dept. color guard and honored our military and fire dead at the cemetary, rained on during the parade and rode in the Ladder for the 2nd parade.  Finished laundry and watched Resident Evil the final chapter and Assasins Creed.

Was a decent quiet weekend for a change.  Which I needed.

Most likely will be working on the roadrunner and the Sundance this weekend, just minor(I hope) repairs.

Since I'm single now, I'll be planning a weekend away, definetly on 2 wheels, and there will be less luggage and biXXhing as well. LOL!!

On Memorial Day - I have a large military family - 2 uncles at least in WW2, my grandfather was a merchant marine on an oiler, I could go on....

Thanks and prayers for those that have paid for our freedom with the ultimate sacrifice......

I am the monster in your head...And I thought you'd learn by now, It seems you haven't yet.

I have a old B movie on TV thay has a Kawaskie 750 triple in it. Anyone ever ride one of those things? Instant explosive 2 cycle power and lots of it.

The kid accross the street from me Mike Dempsey had one for about two hours till he stuffed it under a buss parked in front of the school.

He was ok with lots of road rash but the bike was DOA.

Even the 500cc ones were killers.

Cool this morning at 56 but heading to low 70s later with plenty of sun.

Got a tire going flat on the ranger guess I had better look it over.

Wow, two nails and a rim leak!!!Surprise

Never rode one but watched them in action. They debuted in +/- 1971 and to this day a well built one will out perform anything in the 750 class. They actually de-tuned them in later years because insurance companies wouldn't cover them.

Evening all!

Recovering from the weekend. Nice day, only about 80 and a gentle breeze.

Son is recovering quickly from the ankle sprain from water skiing Saturday.

Doug M - we use PAM Grilling. Works well and our 2 burner CharBroil gets up to 450 pretty easy. Just got some Crisco grilling spray to try out.

Hello there,

Phish just wanted to offer my 2 cents....If this is strictly to mow grass consider a zero turn. If you're plowing snow or cutting firewood gardening etc. Consider going with a compact tractor. John Deere is good and I've heard good about Mahindra. Kubota is good but pricy.

Best move on.

Prayers for those in need

Jim, did you get the new X330 or an old 330 JD? Huh?

Kev - The X330 is the one we're looking at getting; what do you think of them?

Not sure Jim, never seen one. I do think bigger is better. 48" deck at least for us.

Our big pull behing the 3203 JD deck is a 72" cut Land Pride finishing mower.

I use the 48" for trimming.

Good luck with the purchase. Maybe ask to try one out first?

When I ordered my new JD the dealer gave me a loaner till mine came in. Almost wish I had ordered what they loaned me over what I got. It was a 2000 series machine with a 60" belly deck.

Hudson John has been looking at the 1023E with a loader. With your woods you will find a small loader nice to have around. I know more money but more ways to use it than just cutting grass.

cnw1995 - This is the 9th year we've owned the H27, and the first time it wasn't in the slip by 2nd week of April.  Not wanting to put it in until I'm sure I'm going to sail it.  If not, it just becomes a party-barge for the barnies...  The marina has a fixed boom near the launch, and we'll have to see if we can pull up close enough to make the repairs.  If not, I will just call in a pro.  Not worth risking my neck.  But if you're gonna be in the area, boat drinks on me!

Good morning,
Hope everyone had a good holiday and remembered those who gave their all for the rest of us.
Weather here is about the same as SJ’s.
Gave up on the NASCAR race and went to bed. Just as well. Kind of tired of listening to KB and his whining after every race.
As for Indy. What a smash em-up that was. I kind of feel for the sports writer who lost his job over his feelings about it.
We had no one over and wife worked in her gardens and I cut and hauled trees to the burn pile.

Aloha. Boy, it's hard to read this thread sometimes. The page numbering is screwy (-5?). We enjoyed a quiet Memorial Day weekend. I had to explain the difference with Veterans Day to a few youngsters, and 'encourage' fellow parade-goers to stand up when the flag went by. Sheesh. My wife, the middle school nurse, has become a tick expert (and lice too, but that's another less-pleasant story). She says if you remove them within a day, you should miss getting Lyme but they're so prevalent nowadays.

Buckeye, I meant to tell you I love the BSA camp!
Fife, when does the yachet usually go into the water? Wish I was there to help with your masthead. The last cell-phone I had I dumped in the lake when turtling a sailboat. Never again.
Roy, I'm going to try grilling salmon. I'm the world's worst griller. What do you pull on the grill itselt to keep it from sticking?

Sun and 70s today, it's been that way for several days now. Little pockets of rain floated around the state all weekend but we stayed dry and just enjoyed being outside. Only train news is my friend Andy is still building up more scale flats with scale military loads.

Good Afternoon from beautiful 70°F Southern Ohio

Happy Memorial Day, and may God have mercy on the souls of all who have given their lives in service to our blessed country; In God alone do we trust.

apologize for not getting a Sunday Photo Fun up yesterday as we are up to our elbows in packing for the move on June 9th.  Going through 61 years of stuff and 40 years of our married stuff is crazy.  We're seeing things we've not seen in years as you can imagine and we need to swing by a couple of graduation parties for some kids we're close to.

One of the New Zealand does kindled today.  Not sure of the kit count as you don't want to touch the kits or the mother may refuse to feed them.

After cutting the grass at the new place, about 2 acres to cut and a little over 4 in woods with a push mower we decided on getting on a John Deere 330 riding mower.  It was not much more than the cost of one at the box store and is a lot more mower and my knees will thank me for the decision.

Roy – you water skiing story reminded me of my first and last attempt at water skiing.  After numerous attempts finally got going and wiped out and my foot got stuck in the ski and really tore up my big toe.

Don – Glad the El Camino passed; it is a good looking truck.  I always thought they we cool.

Banks – Looks like a great party.

Good night and may God bless

Jim

Hello there,

Thanks to those who gave their all.

....Started the day by sleeping late then Mass followed by a grave yard memorial service . Now sitting in Duncansville waiting for the parade to start. Keeping mom in the car out of the sun till the last minute as last year she had a TIA just as the parade began. It is much cooler this year. Had family feast of turkey and wings last evening despite the rain.

Fryerp

As we finished eating the rain let up and grandkids had a good time on their bikes.

Gonna do leftovers after the parade.

Prayers for those in need

Morning.  Hot and humid.  Out ot pull grass in the garden.  Rain make the garden grow.  ALSO, the WEEDS and GRASS.

Salute to all my fellow veterans.  Read that there is to be a minute of silence at 3 PM today in honor of those who didn't make it home.

Shake and Bake, you need a Vietnam Vet license plate for the El Camino.  Then ride it around town today. Thumbs Up

Have a good and safe day.

Happy Memorial Day! Remembering why we are here!

Good NASCAR race last night - big strategy finish. Indy was good but a couple of destructive crashes as Mike C alludes - luckily all walked away.

Fifer - at least rain helps keep the yachett afloat!

Happy Memorial Day.  Thanks to all who keep us free.  Stopped by cemetary and placed flowers on Grandfather's grave.  Served in army during WW2, in Great Britain.  My other Grandfather served with Marines in WW2 in the Pacific, on the Topeka.

Slipped back to B-more to visit family, attend a wedding, and work on yatchett.  Brought back crabcakes for parents, who watched (spoiled) Fifemax.

Roy - We've been receiving all the rain they promissed you...

Good evening all,

A dry race.  Safe could be questionable.  Sato won to soften the loss from 2012.  Munoz salvaged a 10th for AJ, which was their best 500 finish in years. Rain held off til after the race.  Worse traffic flow both entering and leaving track ever.  Not sure what went wrong.  Have to mow tomorrow, but that is all I plan to do.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Evening all!

The all-day predicted rain has failed to materialize in our area so the weekend has gone well otherwise. Celebrating the vets this weekend. We have several in our group, inc WWII, Desert Storm, and Afghanistan.

Was pulling son water skiing. He did a hard cut, lost it, and rolled a couple of times. Thought he might have broken his foot due to the pain. It looked ok physically, so we iced it and watched it. We have a couple of nurses in the group. Decided to be careful, so went to hospital and got it X-Rayed. No broken bones. Bad sprain. He'll be on crutches a few days. He did look great cutting the water. He will be back in action for July 4 th week.

The same day, I sprained a finger wake surfing. Swollen/blue knuckle. Keep joking with my son that it's ok, but I can't put any pressure on it yet. Evenryone keeps asking him if he can put any pressure on his foot.

Banks - still have the '84 El Cam. Still waiting on the guy I gave some cash to get it running. Need to start bugging him.

Good news. The guy picked up the scooter yesterday. That is out of my hair and off the back porch!

Don - don't know about your '87, but the '84 has a 305 coupled to a Turbo 200 tranny. Can't call anything with a Turbo 200 a muscle car...

Don.........actualy that guy wasn't far off. ElCamino's are basicly a Station Wagon with no roof

Banks, Cant argue with that.  Funny, this is the 2nd one I've had.  Bought both new, the first was stolen when it was about 9 months old.  The current one '87 has been stolen once.  Didn't realize it but they are "considered" a Muscle Car.

Hello there,
The game ended 17 6.They do have a mercy rule but chose to ignore it. Grandson's coach used a boy that wasn't a pitcher just so the other team could get some runs. They did cut the game one inning short.

Today was 7am Mass, a trip to Wallyworld then home for breakfast followed by a quick walk through the flea market. Then a nap before Preparation to fry Turkey. A good time was had by all. More on that tomorrow..

Afternoon.  Been lazy today.  Did cook Wifey breakfast.  Hot out at 93 degrees and 43% humidity.

Going to mist the wreath at the memorial.  Clerk bought one with real flowers.  Need to keep it fresh.

Hope all are having a good holiday.

Banks

Don...who did you get to take the roof off. LOL

Roy. ..do you still have the 84 El Camino? Think I'm going to break down and order a Shars chuck.

Banks - What actually happened was.......

Took the El Camino to a SMOG test station, the Owner/Technician mid 50's but not originally from this country.  Asked me what kinda car is this?  And did I have the roof cut-off.  He did say they did a good job.  I was surprised and told him it was made by Chevy.  Then asked if it is a car or a truck.  Told him it is considered a pick-up truck, and popular among contractors and supervisors.

Anyway, we get along with the testing.  and it PASSED!  I was quite releived!  So my wife takes the documents in to pay the fees and get the new tags.  But they would not issue them!!  Because a confirmation number was on the new form, so I need to go back to the test location to get it resolved.  It took some time but finally got it figured out, the odomoter only goes to 99,000 and was currently showing 42,000.  That is what was entered for the test.  The computer in Sacramento didn't issue the confirmation due to the mileage descripancy.  The actual mileage is 242,000.  Ended up having to go to different location, because the test station computer would not process the same vehicle twice.  But, at least got it completed.

Hope Everyne has a Great Week-End !

Don
