Guten abend and good afternoon to Fife,Big Smile

Chief - I'm sorry for you community's loss.  I read about his and another soldier's sacrifice a few days ago but it had not mentioned names at that point.  I pray for comfort for their families and hope our Nation never forgets their sacrfice.

Becky - That is too funny.  It's no different than every broomstick or paper towel roll becoming a light saber after watching Star Wars.

We are enjoying a relaxing Sunday here.  The wife is making French onion soup, which surprisingly they call "onion soup" in France. Wink

Good day,

Joe

Hope all are doing well. Plan to goto store today for a couple of items but that's about it.

Hello all

Quiet evening on the mountain so far. We are closed due to fog for the moment.

Haven't talked to Bill since Wed. Heard they were going to take him to the car show today.

Banks - continued thoughts and prayers and that's a great pic BTW:)

DougDG - hope everything goes well this week.

Chief - sorry to hear about the loss. Some gave all.

The '46 Ford Transit bus made it to the show this weekend. They had a few minor issues w/ it that I should look into when I get back. Need to check the carb adjustment and fix the choke cable. Gene sent some pics of it w/ the new paint and the bumpers and lights installed. Looks great.

Almost picked up a few Marx items I didn't have in the collection. Will prob pass on them. I did find a Corgi O-scale 'old look' GM bus to add to the display.

Left foot has been causing me issues. This is the one they did surgery on a few years back. Have new orthopedic insoles ready to pick up. Hope this helps. I think it is being somewhat agravated by drivng the Corvan a lot, as the clutch pedal goes into the floor and is cable operated.

Beautiful fall day.  Hunting interrupted by news media.  Reason was OK but sad.  Couldn't hunt yesterday afternoon due to constant calls from staff and new media.

Gluten free... And to everyone else, mornin' boys.  Sunny & 55 along the Patterson Creek cutoff.  Gave SIL detailed driving directions.  BUt he used his GPS anyway and got lost last night.  Still good to have everyone here.  Except Fifepup, who is currently getting all settled in down Lexington, SC.  Wifey made us all fresh eggs and bacon this morning, and we are all gonna take a ride down to Romney in a bit.

Banks - I'll let you know, thanks.

Guten abend,

The rain has finally stopped.  It has been raining all morning and most of the afternoon.  The wife and I had a nice time at dinner last night.  Europeans generally enjoy longer dinners than we do in the US; we were at the restaurant for three hours and could have stayed longer if we wanted to.  This morning the wife and I went to a holiday bazaar on one of the smaller Army bases.  We were able to buy a few Christmas presents and some unique local German beer.  Tonight we will be going to my boss's house for dinner.  Hopefully we will not be out too late as I am tired.

Prayers for all of us in need.

Joe

Been a busy couple of weeks balancing two simultaneous client engagements - both of which are very time-sensitive. But I've been getting more train time as a way to relax with some non-computerized technology. Slowly working on cleaning up all of my 022s and getting a few I bought over the summer into shape.  Oh, and the Cubs won the WS...

Morning all! Looks to be another beautiful fall day today. Heading to the GVRR train show this morning with my "allowance" plus a little extra the Mrs. doesn't know about! :) Are you going Sir James? (Great comment about Jerry Williams by the way. I'm surprised too by the lack the comments.) I really should tackle some of those leaves this afternoon before Michigan plays. Have a great day and prayers to all in need. GO BLUE!!

Wow!  It's November already.  Our big west coast train meet called Cal Stewart is comming up this month but I will probably stay home.  Not buying nor selling because too many health issues going on.  Glad the Cubs won the series.  Both teams deserved to win.  Game 7 was a doozy.  The last time the Cubs won, Teddy Roosevelt was president.  I think they were due.  Going to Dixieland Jazz club this weekend.  Will visit my wife again tomorrow in her facility with my son.  Later,

Good evening all,

Good day at work.  Good walk today.  On vacation now for a week.  Wife and I went to one of the local high school's musicals tonight.  They did a nice job with "Singing in the Rain" and they had a capacity crowd.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Zero Export

so i spent 40 dollars to suscribe to CTT today for the sole purpose of gaining "subscriber only" access to the track plan data base. I assumed it would be like MRR's data base where the plans are from actual layouts featured in the rag.  Nope not CTT  just CTT designed layouts that are in every track plan book from them i own.

Been three plus years since i was here and it will three plus more till i return.  At least i got the print subscription so once a month ill be able to light the wood stove, i guess .....

You know you can call customer service and cancle your subscription but then I guess you won't see this either as you say it will be 3 or more years befor eyou come back.

Good evening,

Worked most of the AM on the medical choices for next year. None are good but I am going to lock on one that is only about $20 a month more than I had. Problem is it is a in close network so If we travel and need anything it only covers 50%. The one I am going to get, it don't do to much better here but in August and I hit 65 it is all another thing so just working on keeping Sandra covered. I would just as soon have the big one and pass on it all. My step mom won the lotto when she dropped dead at the kitchen table checking her blood sugar.

This afternoon I cut two, under 12" Elm trees and hauled three loads to the burn pile and cut and split the rest. Felt good to do some tree work but I did not push it. I still have 4 others I want to fell before snow.

Guten abend,

A busy, busy Friday at work, but that seems to be the norm.  I didn't accomplish as much I would have liked, but work will always be there.  The wife and I have dinner plans with another couple this evening which will be nice.  However, I am looking forward to relaxing at home.

Good night,

Joe

Mornin' boys.  Clear and 51 along the Patterson Creek cutoff.  We're excited about oldest Princess SIL and grandson visiting this weekend.  I plan on taking the little one train watching Sunday, as CSX puts on a good show mid-mornings up in Cumberland.  I wunder how much he will recognize scenes from the old layout as we drive by them in 1:1 scale.

Hi, all,

A good game last night between two very good teams. Very disgusting today to see no one on the Chicago media or teams give the Indian’s the credit they so well deserve.   What happened to sportsmanship??? Why I don’t care much about Chicago teams for anything.
Wet today, so no leaves, maybe tomorrow. Need to take out 4 6” to 12” dead tomorrow if I can handle it.
Bob, sorry about your friend, Bill. Angel

Good evening,

I don't have much to report today; it was business and life as usual here.  Due to the time difference I didn't get to watch the game.  From what I have heard and read it was a great game and a good thing for MLB.  I hope you all have a great day.

Fife - I'm glad the POD saga is over.

Good night,

Joe

Mornin' boys.  Overcast & 68 along the Patterson Creek cutoff.  Made coffee this morning from the old grinds from fifedom Ick!.  Out that cannister goes...  Transplanted our Paradise "Benji" into a bigger container.  Cats had sprayed the old one.  Not liking cats these days, sorry.  More painting today.

As a sports fan, this series was great to watch.  Both teams deserved to win.  Last game was all you can want in any championship event (save the rain delay).  Both skippers overplayed their hands with their pitching.

88 - I wouldn't have gone another route, but would have insisted before agreeing to contract on the terms of pick-up.  Probably wouldn't have mattered.  Movin' on.

submmbob - Angel for your pal.

Sun and 50s today

I went to bed after 11:30 and the game was tied. Being born and raised a Buckeye I kinda leaned Cleveland's way. Both teams deserved to win so congrats to the Cubs. Leaves are falling big train show this weekend means fall is here with no turning back.

RIP Jerry Williams.

And thats where MTH began.
