Mornin' boys. Clear and 29 along the Patterson Creek cutoff. Was hoping to wake up with a full head of hair after the "Super Moon", but alas, just a few strands from the ear canal. Not enough for a comb-over. Had nice visit with family, and we all drove down to Keyser for dinner. Good to see Mom out and about for a change.
Caught the end of the Nascar race. #20 learned what goes around comes around. Can't get behind any of the final 4. I'm a life-long Petty fan, so I guess anybody but the 48.

Yep, I'm still hanging in there. No excuses for not posting, just get out of the daily habit and before you realize it, days/weeks just pass by. No boycott or anything from here, just to much reclinerizing.
Sorry to hear about your nephew SJ, hope the family is doing ok.
Been messing around with a few projects;
- Organizing DVD's and CD's, (getting them all centrally located and organized)
- Reviewing and sorting various VCR tapes (over 120), probably 70 or 80 not labeled). Got them labeled or identified for re-recording. Then did the same for about 50 HI-8 tapes. Also checked out both cameras and have them on line again.
- Then I have a reel to reel tape recorder I got in Viet Nam, and another 40 tapes, the recorder still works very well and of course the tapes were not all properly identified. So got that done.
I think I could open an electronic museum.
Then we went on a train ride up in Arizona, near Sedona. It was the Verde Valley Railroad. The route was originally built to bring Copper out of Jerome Az, from 1860's and finally closed in the early 50's. The route through the Verde Valley is probably the most scenic train ride I've ever rode. Really marvelous.
Found out earlier today I get to go to Disneyland Monday AND Tuesday. Monday for California Adventure, Tuesday Disneyland. (Wife wants to see the Christmas decorations.)

Hello there,
been quite a week. Relieved but wondering how local doc could be so far off.
Still surprised but pleased by Tuesday's outcome.
Yesterday I finally finished my spring yard work. Got the last of the bushes trimmed. Today in between naps I started fall yard work. Dug out about half to the gladolia and Dalia bulbs and repotted one of the Christmas Cactus from Mrs' home.
Watching Alaska The Last Frontier then heading to bed.

A discussion on another forum (you know which) prompted me to post this link: https://archive.org/details/sundownlimited. It's my favorite train related movie of all time and you can view it in it's entirety at that url. What is it? A silent Our Gang short from 1924 titled "Sundown Limited" and it has all the classic elements including pup-pulsion, which is the use of dogs to power vehicles.
For those who know Our Gang, unless you've seen the silent shorts before the only "Rascal" you'll recognize is Farina, although he was only 3 in this film! And the only one of the gang to make the transition to talkies. Enjoy!

Saturday came and went fast. The older son's soccer team lost as usual, but at least it was only a single digit loss. We went to some friends' house for dinner and had a nice time. The PSU-IND was game was too close for too long but fortunately PSU got the win. I woke up at 0545 this morning to watch some UFC fights and they were entertaining. The Princess has Nutcracker rehearsal this afternoon.

A good day. Went to a TCA meet in Cincy. A lot of stuff, but nothing that flipped my switch so to speak. Went to an antique mall, where wife got some items. Went to Edgewood in KY to see wife's relative who is a priest say the Mass. Went to supper afterward with him and some of wife's other relatives. As AJ would say, all in all it was a good day. I hope everyone has a good day.

Evenin' boys. Clear and 42 along the Patterson Creek cutoff. Girls and I made a successful raid across the Potomac and back (grandson's 5th birthday party). While there, I inspected the fleet, and cleared the laundry off the spars. Surprisingly, there were still many sailing vessels in the water. Glad I hauled out early, as I'm cradled in a prime spot. Glad I'm back at new fifedom. My new Kingcoil is more preferable to an old couch and a snoring 120 lb retriever. Sister and young nephew (big train fan) visit us tomorrow.

Busy day starting with waffles and bacon. Then helped good friends move light stuff back into their remodeled home. Then cleaned and winterized the 2 Yamaha Waverunners. Going back to friends house for lasagne dinner cooked by friends SIL. And certainly there will be "toasts" the the remodeled house.

Heavy frost, first of the season. About a month late this year. I saw the 8 point buck walking through the yard this morning so that confirms that Dan missed it yesterday when he took a shot at it.
Only managed 4 loads of leaves yesterday. Almost done.
I use a simple Excel spread sheet to track my trains, building, dicast, and equipment, only 789 lines long.

Morning all. It's nice to seek some refuge here in the "pot" as opposed to the crap on Facebook. Stay off if you have it!! Looks to be a nice day today. Ray - You ARE a vet, action or not. You still served and thanks! Dennis - I've seen various collection inventory software available. Some have been advertised in CTT. Maybe that will help you out. I keep saying I should do the same thing. Even if you had your records, they may not reflect what current replacement/market value would be anyways. A lot of the MPC/LTI era items have decreased in value since the newer and more detailed command equipped product has come out. Have a great day and prayers to all in need.
A dreary Saturday morning here: foggy and rainy. Yesterday, the wife, youngest, and I took a quick drive over to France to restock some wine and grab some other French grocery items we like. Last night, she and I went out to dinner with a couple who are friends of ours. We had a nice time. Today's agenda includes some errands and then the older son's soccer game.

Interesting day, sort of. Got rid of a lot of "stuff" today. Took a truck load to local recycling place. Mulched leaves again. Went to a local historical society meeting. Friend of ours takes old home movies and converts to DVD. No sound, but good to see sights from 50-60+ years ago. Tonight's films showed lots of NYC action with Hudsons and passenger trains. Also lots of old steam tractors. I hope everyone has a good day.
Salute to all the veterans. I belonged to the Virginia National Guard from 1954 until I moved to California in 1958. Then I was in the California Guard and U.S.Army reserve for the balance of my 8 year military obligation but I don't consider myself a veteran since I saw no active duty. However, I was available if they wanted me for 8 years. I was part of a historic unit in Virginia. It dated back to Civil War times and was part of the 29th Division in WWII. They were part of the landing on the beaches of Normandy in 1944 on D Day. Many lives were lost in our division. Those are the boys I like to remember.

Morning all. Big screwed up day so far. Hope Capt. Byers' and Veterans' Day thingy goes better. Wifey slept upstairs so I would not wake her when I got up and got ready for news interview [6 AM]. At 4:30 she comes in to wake me thinking it was 5:30 and I had over slept. She forgot to reset the clock up stairs in guest bedroom. Couldn't go back to sleep. [she did until 7:00] Get up and start getting ready. Cell rings. Reporter says producer has sent him to breaking news in Durham. What!!! And I agreed to do this just for you all. So watch the news. Nothing on all three major channels. Finally on that channel. 18 wheeler turned over on an off ramp. No traffic problem, nothing hazardous and driver not injured. Other channels covering with traffic camera. Am I mad? They will get no more interviews from me. I will not be available. Even worse, that station did not list the many Veterans' Day events. Other two did including a nice one on our honoring Capt. Byers. That station has always had a reputation of being unprofessional. Also, a lot of black screens as someone forgets to "flip the switch". Hope all are doing well today. Special salute to my fellow Veterans. Smile, it has to get better.

Mornin' boys. Clear, breezy and 51 along the Patterson Creek cutoff. Spent awhile over my new neighbor's house yesterday. He's my age, and recovering from hip surgery. He has a man cave dedicated to the Steelers. He also runs the HOA, so I best not be too cheeky when the Ravens win...
Took girls out to local restaurant last night. Their food was ok, but I was served the single worst cut of steak I've had in over a year. Wifey forbids me to complain, so hope the complete half of untouched t-bone gave them a hint.
Phish - from my law enforcement perspective, legalizing thc is like throwing the chicken into the fox house...

Did 10 miles walking today. Weather (and wind) was not favorable so only averaged 3.4 MPH. May have to start going indoors. Went to daughter's junior high show of Pirates of Penzance. I have to give her credit for trying to do the show. The volume by most of the actors left a lot to be desired. I complimented the better ones after the show. Thanks to all the vets. I hope everyone has a good day.

Had a long visit with gynecologic oncologist in Pittsburgh yesterday. She looked at all the sonograms and biopsy results and declared Mrs cancer free. A big relief but confusing. Local gynecologist told Mrs her biopsy contained both precancerous and cancerous cells. The uterine lining is thickened but that's an issue that can be resolved with a D&C if necessary. I suspect the local doc screwed up. She's relativly new to us and a couple of people told us to beware of her after this all started.

I’ve been crazy busy this week. 85% done with another required job qualification at work. After this operator qualfication only two left to go.
My Bride broke down and turned on the furnace tonight. I was hoping for another week before starting the heating season.
Gabriel is playing basketball now and the girls Felicity and Kalie are on the swim team so that means several extra trips to town each evening. Almost makes you wish we lived closer to town.

Ray - I’m thinking the pot issue is a non starter because so many transition to other more addictive chemicals. Having a daughter who is suffering as a result of drug addiction has me looking a things a little differently.

I went here today: http://castlenoel.com/. Loads of cool stuff including the sleigh and giant sack of toys from the Jim Carrey "Grinch" movie. At the very end of the tour you have the chance to ride down the big red slide a'la Ralphie in "A Christmas Story". Lots of fun and a surprisingly fast ride! As a matter of fact I met the "elf" who said "Hurry up kid, the store's closin'!" from the movie while I was there. He was doing restoration work in a back room. For us railroaders they have a G scale layout and several Lionel, Marx and Flyer items in a room full of old toys.
I am a non smoker now. Cigarettes almost killed me, I certainly don't want to put some other crud in my lungs. Voted not No but Hell No on pot. I know I'm in the minority but so be it.
