Good evening all,
One part of kitchen work is done. Work went well. Had a regular noon walk for the first time in a long time. Wife comes home tomorrow. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,

Hello all
Quiet night on the mountain.
Just downloaded the first pics w/ the 'new' camera.
Here's the N-scale layout for those who were curious:

Bob, that is a lot of layout on a small space,,,nice!!!
Today was sun and 70.
Was busy working on a friends modular layout. Track is laid, 12 tables, 3 loops now, a 4th to be added later. No scenry, no switches. Just for running long trains. Working on the wiring.

Good day at work. Pain two was gone all day and pain one left at noon. I was able to work on a project that needed a lot of thought and peace and quiet. I made good progress on that today. Wife came home today after week with grandson. We watched 2 hour season finale, which had a satisfactory ending. AJ's team, after some good results on Thursday, dropped to the back of the pack again today. Could be a long weekend and and an even longer May 29th event for the ABC and Alfe racing squads. Good walk at noon but rain here this evening. I hope everyone has a good day.
Mornin' boys. "Mudder's" day in the Mid-Atlantic region. Middle Princess graduated from UofMD with a BSN yesterday. Enjoyed a nice lunch dockside to celebrate. Then we showed the house again in the afternoon. Oldest Princess scored me a Lionel Canadian National boat loader off the bay (pun unintended for once). Good looking piece = Rails & Sails.
Nice layout there Bob. Almost makes me want to think of going to no see size trains myself ( n Scale lol ) Sorry I think there great just to dang small for me if I need to work on them. If I went HO it would be Marklin still 3 rail lol But I have to much invested in here right now.
Tried out the Legacy system this am ( forgot wife was in bed about 15' away in the bedroom ( my train room ) is attached to our bedroom Well the horn was not appreciated. I only have a 3' test track but it was enough to check out a TMCC GP-9. ( NYC SJ) Primed the cars and tender Kevin Blasted for me. I also thought I had grey for the tender ( 1689 Different grey than the primmer ) but it was chrome paint guess someone played with the lids. Not happy. I needed chrome for the roof of one passenger car and the trim, so shot them will have to see how they came out may have to super fine sand as it came out heaver than I was expecting. May have to play with that can of paint. Well that's about it for now waiting for postal person as have 2 packages coming. then it looks like 2 more on Monday and then that's it for now oh yeah the one from trainz returning my engine but not sure when that will be and that probably be fedex.
I was able to pick up a like new legacy 990 set the other week for $160 including shipping well it came yesterday and the like new TMCC set I bought the day before lol I think thats what I'm going to hook up for now as tested both but the Legacy takes up more room and room is a premium on my work space. When I get a layout going I might keep the work station with TMCc and hook up the Legacy on the layout.
It was great hearing the NYC GP-9 coming to life again this morning. ( even if I woke the wife up lol)
Anyway need to get a couple things together and take pics for auction and see how they do.
Passing through. Been real busy lately. Hope all OK. Guess what?????? Started raining again. In fact, rains more than the sun shines.
Have a good one.

Good evening from cool overcast Southern Ohio,
Been real busy around here. Finally cut all the grass cut but is still looks like it could use another cutting. Washed both cars and the truck then waxed the Civic. Van needs waxed but I need a day to do it right. Changed the cabin filter on the Civic, nasty what it catches.
The utility room is finished and my bride is happy. Now reload the cabinets with the stuff, well some of it, that was removed.
Rich, Congrats on the job!
Fife - Congrats on middle princess graduation
Bob - The N scale amazes me, but I can’t imagine working on something so small
Going to just veg out for a bit
Good night and may God bless
Jim
Mowed the yard. Watched some of the first day of time trials. None of AJ's team made the fast 9 and two were tail end Charlies. Ugh. Did enjoy a nice Indy 11 4-2 win with the wife alongside. Weather was great for the game and traffic was not bad either going to or leaving. I hope everyone has a good day.
Another quiet night on the mountain. Over half this shift done. One more and we take a break for summer.
I put a Micro-Trains coupler on a Minitrix Pacific last week. At first I thought I was nuts. After a couple(r) of iterations I got it together. The small size can be frustrating at times, but it's also part of the challenge.
I have developed a few N-scale rules:
1) Work on things slowly and never over carpet
2) Steer clear of DCC - too darn small and I have to mess w/ computers for work anyways
3) The simpler it is the better it will run
4) Don't spend too much for any one item, because you might end up throwing it in frustration (bet you never knew a GS-4 could fly)

Two more elm trees down hauled and stumps ground out so that makes three, and still to early in the day for a beer. Man I am loving that grapple thumb on the bucket.
Bright sun 74 degrees.
76 tomorrow will be a good grass cutting day.
Just checking in. This will be the first week I'm home everynight after four weeks of sleeping at least two nights per week in hotel beds.

Great weather today. Did some more yardwork and washed all 3 vehicles. Finally some good news for the Foyt team as Sato did the best he could do today and snagged a 4th row starting spot. The other two are in the back row. For once, neither Penske or Ganassi are on the pole or even the front row. Might be a good race. I hope everyone has a good day.

Rich, Is it vertigo or just a case of euphoria from having the RoadRunner on the prowl again.
Best wishes on the new job.

Aloha. A beauty of a day today. Highlight of the weekend was enjoying a White Sox loss with the middle boy on Sat. Everything seems better with good weather, good seats and a full ball park. Looks like a nice week too. Love that CN boat loader car, Fife. Bob, those are very good rules for O gauge too.

Dennis your lady friend is correct. A hard sneeze or nose blow will do it. The blood will slowly disappear. I get them in my right eye on a regular bases.
From cold and damp to Hot and dry???
What happened to spring??
Sand blasted and painted the 24" Marx bridge. I will put in on the desplay shelf with the 1936 AF set.
About it.
Good morning all,
V8 Dennis commented about the external fuel tank for the space shuttle arriving in L.A. to eventually mate up with the shuttle already on display here. My grandson was a docent at the Museum of Science and Industry for the arrival. He is a student at UC Irvine majoring in Aerospace engineering and has also been involved with other projects by Cal Tech and NASA. It was a big thrill to him to be part of the festivites.
I try to visit my wife at her new facility at least 3 or 4 times a week. I feel a little guilty by not going every day but it takes too much out of me emotionally. However, I am the only family member who is retired and is able to go.
My youngest son Richard came Saturday and moved out a lot of his stuff following his recent marriage. I am the last one standing here at the house. Takes some getting used to. Don't think I ever will.
I have begun to run my trains again, at least once in a while. It is good therapy for me.

Ray,
I can't imagine what you are having to deal with . It was bad enuff when the BetterHalf was being the caretaker of a friend for three weeks after knee replacement surgery. And I visited almost every evening on the nights that I delivered homecooked dinner. This house was awfully quiet and lonesome.
Prayers for you and your wife during this time.
Working on a special treat for some very special kids, will fill y'all in as soon as we can get a firm commitment from all parties involved. So far it looks . We shall see.
Later all.
Good day weather wise. Good walk at noon. Quiet day at work. Did 3 miles tonight in 44:39 for a 4.03 MPH average. It was a combination of some jogging with a lot of walking. Will do a "speed" run and a distance walk each when I can. Wallpaper is off walls in kitchen. Hopefully have papering done tomorrow. I hope everyone has a good day.
Hello there, been been a while.
Spent last Sunday with mom at the ER /hospital. Cardio doc suspects some "angina" may be "heartburn". Either way I perceive a slow but continuous decline.
Spent most of this weekend sleeping . It rained for 2 days and although there were things I should have worked on it felt good to sleep .
Work continues to be hectic. Still looking for a few good men. A couple I hired turned out to be full of hot air. They won't last long. A couple with promise have already moved on. I have a hand full of resumes to go through.
JOHN. ...Economy or Deere?
