Evening Folks,

One more work week down, 68 calendars, 53 work days, 38 student days. Today was a wild one, full moon in an elementary school equals behavioral chaos. Heading to Richmond for the Xfinity and Sprint Cup races. Hoping the weather holds up, not supposed to rain.

Thanks for the kind wishes for retirement.

Take care,

Mitch

Mitch you'll enjoy it.

Kinda crazy day for me, I had a package mailed back on tuesday to me from trainz ( I was not expecting anything ) turns out they discovered they sent me the wrong postwar tin plate passenger cars I didn't even notice I had won 2442 (x2) and a 2443 they sent me 6442's and a 6443 all where brown and looked the same to me I never paid attention to the numbers lol anyway I thought that was the package coming today by Fedex no it was the one shipped yesterday how it did that beats me, things must of just clicked as thats not a normal.

then in the package was a 2671 tender ( minus the whistle) that someone put Southern Pacific on well it was partially gone anyway so figure I would soak it in very hot water with dawn dish detergent put it in there went back after a little and the sides where a milky white so I guess someone put either wax or a oilbase product on it. Any way that was one mess to get off.

Rearanged some of my trains to where all the military stuff are in one area 5 short shelves ( 5' long each ) and one long shelf ( 11' ) I'm also aranging other stuff where all my tinplate passenger cars are all together also That will be 5 shelves ( one prewar 4 postwar)

Hello there,

TGIF!!!!!!!!!

Whatever happened to the YORK Photo????????????

Been a long week. Mom is keeping us stepping. Struggling to get enough people together to man a one day cold outage at a local mill. Been robbing Peter to pay Paul. Still in the running for the big project that bid last week. Been working through that to see if there is any additional savings and to make sure there's no mistakes.

Was suposed to rain here for two days. Nothing yet. We really need it. Son has oats planted and corn ground ready. A bit early for corn though.

Ray....Angel.  seems like it's working out for you.

Rich.....Angelthe job and house work out.

Speaking of house.......Fife.......what's the latest??????

Laz..........lot's O dieing ash trees around here. I'd offer the wood but I'm sure you'd be taking the Ash Borer to your area if they aren't already there. I treated several in the yard. waiting to see if they survive. Two large ones near the house I didn't treat. They were ready to come down befor the borer got into them. Kev.......howmany six packs to bring your stump grinder???????

Mitch........Congas on retirement. Lost a good foreman to retirement today. Mrs is counting down. 378 school days till retirement. Not that she's looking forward to it.........

Bought tickets earlier to a dinner show featuring the Oak Ridge Boys. A little pricy but Mrs asks for little. We will enjoy it.

Don......the doc's layout looks great....

Phish......best of luck on the new job

Best move on. Test & Tune at the hill tomorrow. Son is going to work a half day and go to the hill after lunch  Off t bed

Prayers for those in need

Good evening all,

A very good day.  Started moving CDs to credit union which pays more.   Got my starting spot for the Mini, which is in the 4th wave.  That gives me an extra 15 minutes to finish the race, which hopefully I will not need.  It does give me a psychological boost.   AJ's team was 1-2 in practice today for the first time....ever.  Bodes well for the weekend.  Ran trains tonight as well and the foot is really starting to heal nicely.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Kev.......howmany six packs to bring your stump grinder???????

Just depends on how big the tree is and how many I can drink as I watch you run it Banks,,,Laugh  All our Ash trees are dead to. Crying

Well the house deal fell through for Katie and Dan. Seller backed out after saying okay. Long story but it would not of happened if they were not tring to get the loan through FHA. Too many nit-pick rules. Scared the seller off.

Got cold here, 42 right now heading to 68 later in the day. Katie and the kids may come out after 2:00pm

Wifes' car is fixed and the two log cars are weathered and on the layout.

Have a good one.

Morning all. Yes I have two Ash trees here one looks okay but the other I see big dead branches so I think I need to have both come down. To big for me to even think with the location so close to houses. Don't have the equipment to do so.

I have other things I need to take care of anyway.

Hope all are having a good day talk toy ou all later

Sunny and 68 degrees.  Rains yesterday afternoon and night.  Worked in the Train Box from 6 PM to 2 AM.  Doing some more overhead lighting.  Then fixing problems with Realtrax [MTH needs to be "strung up" for their poor performance].  All runing good now.

Go visit MR's Dorothy and take her some Cokes.  She was begging for a Coke the other day.

Rich, prayers for job.

Mornin' boys.  Overcast and 71 in the Mid-Atlantic region.  I remembered to order the new tank on flatcar from Menard's today, and it is there last day of their 11% off RR stuff.  Tanks have been quick to sell out in the past.

Today,

Well I went ahead and cut that 60+ foot dead Ash next to the driveway in front of the shed. Was pretty puckered up before it fell hoping it would go the way I wanted it to, but it fell perfect. Got to use the grapple a lot. Gave all the core stump age wood to Brian to split and sell to the campers. I have more than I can use of dead Ash.  Saved a few small trash loads for when the grand kids came over so they could ride along to the burn pile. Man O man I can't believe how well Jordan the two year/almost three old can steer the tractor. He even knows how to pick up the RPM. We had fun, for sure.

Have a good night, I am beat.

Tried my electric Chain saw this am and it worked great. It did what I wanted it to do. Was very happy with the results from it.

Good evening all,

As good as Friday was, Saturday was bad.  AJ's team missed the setup on reds....again and will start deep in the pack.   Grandson's baseball team lost 16-4 in their first game today.  Went back to their apartment for a brief visit only to find water all over their bathroom floor.....  Only positive for the day was finishing the John Adams DVDs.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Good Evening,

Had a laid back day, cleaned out my tool bag, and wiring kit, then needed to work on our website adding data.  Tomorrow think I will spend in the train room.  Nothing significant but straighten things out a bit, and maybe hook up a couple of lights.  Speaking of lights I wonder if Roseyville will be in the dark tonight since the Chief was working on wiring in the Box.  He called me one time and asked "How he could tell the difference between Hot and Cold.  I told him to just go in and look at the faucet handles, the side that has the red dot is hot, so just apply that to your wiring, Red wires are hot.  He called back and was confused that he only had black and white wires, and wanted to know if the black was the dirty side and white was the clean side.  I told him to call an electrician.

Ray, hope you get some well deserved rest!  You've been through a lot!  At least you can relax a little knowing the Helen is receiving good care.  I'm sure it was the best decision for both of you!

After reading the various posts above, you guys sure have a lot of ambition, it would have taken me weeks just to get through the Preliminary Procrastination on the tree removal.

I managed to survive through the day at Dland, I was worn out by quiting time.  We did ride the "Cars" ride, it was really fantastic.  They did a great job with all the scenery and affects.

Hope everyone enjoys the day tomorrow.

Take care and be safe!

Don

Kev, grat looking grapple or what you call it.  Best is it is on a Deere.

Talked to Shake and Bake.  He screwed up the guy's layout [that he is taking to the cleaners by working so slooooow].  Hooked up on anti-derailing feature on a switch.  Now he has to go back and do it to all switches.  More billable hours.  Worse than a lawyer.

Off to bed.  Off tomorrow to do a final at the lake house.

Someone kidnap Buckeye?

Sleep tight.

Hello all

Back at work for another week.

Busy week off last week. Put the new window regulator in the Datsun and fixed some of the wiring on Wed. Took apart and soaked the Holley carb off the Twin Coach bus on Thurs. Cleaned up the workspace at the trolley on Friday. Went to breakfast w/ the Corvair club on Sat where the Corvan made it's first official club event, then pulled the manifolds off a parts truck I found on Craiglist. BBQ on Sat night w/ a friend and then Sunday installed the manifolds on the Datsun. Monday morning put the headpipe on and took the truck to the muffler shop for the rest of the exhaust system, then Bill and I put one of the rebuilt rear bearing units in the 4dr Corvair. Tuesday we tried starting the '89 RTS bus and got close but no cookies. We have injector troubles I think which are costing us a couple of cylinders. That one will have to be towed to the new location. Then my buddy Ron and I went to the LHS to pick up a few things and then back to his house to fix the siderod problem on his G-scale 0-6-0. Whew...

Cleaning up the AF 290 I got from RT. Nice little loco there.

While reading thru some old Vintage Rails magazines Ron gave me, I ran across an add for Star railroad lanterns. The car inspector's lantern looks very interesting. Over the years I've been very under-whelmed by most flash lights. Besides many being unreliable the blasted things are all round so they inevitably roll under the car, in the dark, if you set them down. This lantern is adjustable w/ a handle and a stand and looks like the perfect thing for emergency car work. I found one on the bay for a decent price and will let you know how it works out.

Don - Chief just hooks up everything to the big outlet over the dryer, that gives him more power...:)

Good morning, sunny and will get into the 80s today. Good day to clean up all the sticks and limbs that have fallen around the house. The house is the only area I have not cut yet this year.

No real plans.

Shake&Bake. I have been pining over cutting that last leg of that Ash all winter. I did the other three legs last fall so they would not fall on the drive in the winter. Still have about 3 more to get that could fall on the house.

Chief don't worry about me, our concerns and prayers need to be with Phish in Southern Ohio.  With the mass executions this last week, I would assume the churches are helping out the communities.  Phish lives in Scioto County but works in Pike County where the murders took place in a remote location.  It would not surprise me if he knew relatives of the deceased.

Wifey and I went to the lake house for the last time [we hope].  Got her last "things" she wanted.

Again, MTH is trash.  Switched out an 072 switch which was giving trouble [as a lot of them do eventually].  What a time.  The tab on one side was so much thicker than the space to slide under the rail.  Had to trim it down.  Both "control" rails were too long.  Had to use a drimel tool to gap them.  I noticed a 6" piece of Realtrax had the center rail rusting. ????  Never had Realtrax rust. ????

Off to bed.

Getting back into things after fighting (mostly) off a nasty virus thing that resulted in a double ear infection for the past couple of weeks.  Could barely hear for a number of days.  Finally feeling well enough this weekend to get some things done - some train-related (working on a 397 coal loader, wheel cleaning on some cars I bought off Da Bay, diagnosing some E-Unit problems), some outside (got Scott's Step 1 down on the lawn along with some 2,4-D for the weeds). Everything is really starting to come to life.

Here's hoping the Hawks can make it three in a row tonight and advance towards another Stanley Cup!

Morning all. Last night turned out to be pretty good. On another forum a member placed a postwar 224 US NAVY b-unit shell for sale for $15 including shipping in good condition. So I bought that and I found at JUSTTRAINS the frame, the correct trucks and the piece in the middle that simulates a fuel tank. So now I have a second Navy B-Unit :)

Only plans for today is to sraighten this room up some more and get more stuff out to the garage for next garage sale come June.

Evenin' boys.  Partly cloudy and 71 in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Just got in from more home tours of WV.  Looks like we're coming down to deciding on the new Fifedom.  Caught a few small fish with my new Flueger reel and Ugly Stick.  Too much line on the spool though; led to too many unintended tangles.  Good to spend time with my folks up on the mountain.  Nice ride home.  Now waiting for Pizzadude.

Morning all, Not much going on here today. I need to cut the grass before it gets to hot or after it cools down this evening. ( need to put new blade on it first lol. But most of today ( unless I get sidetracked ) will be repairing some tenders. I have 2 2671's I need to put back together. Have parts coming on them today ( two new whistles ) will just have to solder everything back in. Rewiring the 6 wheel trucks pick-up is the hardest part for me.

Well guess it's time to get moving and have some breakfast.
You all have a good day. 69* at present going up to 85* today

Yesterday we had some unforcasted rain.  It was a hard downpour for about 15 minutes.  We'll take it!  I guess that was our rainey season.

Wife got addmited to her new digs yesterday at the long term care facility.  We are celebrating her birthday tonight.  It was actually yesterday.  She is 88 now.  The facility is giving 6 of us a birthday dinner in a private dinning room.  That was nice of them.

Don, I never did put in that non derailing feature on my layout.  Wish I had sometimes.

Have a good week.
