Good morning,
Cloudy, cold 47, rain, and general overall gloom. Again!  Storm

Installed the goose neck street lamps to the train table yesterday. To yucky outside to do anything outdoors.
Not sure but might do brakes today on Katie's car. I got all the parts delivered, all she has to do is show up.

Fife, how do the viewers take to the layout when they are looking at the house?

Mornin' boys.  Widespread rain and 48 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Just got back from the corner drugstore with some Benadryl, as apparently something I consumed last night is making me puffy and itchy this morning.

Evenin' All.

Busy day today. thankfully it is done.

Ray, 3751 will be doing a round trip excursion between L.A. and Sandy Eggo on 10/1.

http://www.traintrips.biz/2016-Tours/Santa-Fe-3751-Steam-Excursion-2016.php  If it were the other way around I might consider it, even though some of the prices seem a bit high.

Seems like monday's med changes haven't helped as much as I hoped. Will have to touch base with doctor on monday.

Time to call it a day.

Prayers for all in need.

Later y'all !

Good evening all,

There was a "window over Terre Haute" (means dry weather) early this morning so I finished "baling the hay" (mowing the yard).  Did very little else today.  Planted a tree and watched an EPL match as Arsenal defeated Norwich City 1-0.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning all,

Got a sore neck since yesterday.  Nerve pain switched from my right side to the left.  Took some pain pills but hope it goes away.

Our local live steam locomotive "ATSF 3751" is on display this weekend at Fullerton railroad days.  It was at LA union station recently.

Saw some blurb about U.P. 844 running at Frontier Days.  No confirmation though.

Got some good news about our long term health insurance.  I thought there was a 3 month waiting period before claims are paid but it's only two now that we pay out of pocket.

Need to pick up new suit today for son's wedding on May 7th.

Got a new phone for hearing impaired people.  Haven't figured out the volumn control yet. First ring almost took the paint off the wall.  I like the speaker phone feature though so I don't get cauliflour ear from holding the handset.

later,

Ray

Good evening all,

Quiet day at work, but still got a lot done.  Weather was good at noon and I went for a regular walk.  Feet are good.   I mowed most of the yard tonight.  Going was slower than expected and some of the yard is still under water.   Will finish what I can tomorrow if weather cooperates.  I hope everyone has a good day.

TGIF...........

It was another long week with travels to Lexington, KY and Cincinnati for meetings. Kentucky is beautiful this time of the year.

At work they tell me I should sell 15 x my salary.  So I looked up how much I sold in 2015.  I calculated they need to pay me $295,000?  It does work both ways; doesn't it?

Hopefully the boat goes in the lake this weekend.

Chief......Yes, MTH Realtrax is junk especially the switches.

Enjoyed seeing the photo of York.  Hopefully the fall will work out for me.

The Thomas layout will operate the same days that Thomas will run. I believe the first day is May 1st. I will see what I can find then edit this.

S.J.

OK got it. April 30, May1, May 7/8,May14/15.

Thomas is running inside the Village on their rails so you must pay the village admission fee.

Good Morning from overcast Southern Ohio,

I think I'm going to like this new shift, 4, 10 hour days, Mon through Thurs.  I'm going to paint the utility room today and if the paint dries I'll rehang the cabinets today.

I've been brain dead this week after getting home.  The new hire orientation was Monday, then the rest of the week I've been reading on line training and taking tests.  Hopefully next week I'll get out into the field.

I'd better go as my bride took the kids to school and I'd better be working when she gets home!

May God bless

Aloha. Another grey, wet, unseasonally cold day. . .I know it won't last and it's helping the grass, trees and flowers to finally snap into springtime.  Daughter and SiL are coming into town this weekend to go to a Cubs game and the NFL draft festivities downtown. One of the storms this week blew our deck-table umbrella all to bits. Didn't hear or notice it missing. At least that's an easy replacement. Good luck on the continuing search for a new Fifedom. Glad to hear Roy is just busy. 8n, I know the parents will love the Warner Bros theme train. Dennis, it sounds like Pick-A-Part would be a fun place to visit. Ray, I second what RT says - before i went digital, I brought a lot of my old mags to the local VA hospital.

WV - 3  Fifedom - 0   ...and the search goes on.

Mornin' boys.  Damp and 44 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Knock out some laundry today in the event we show the house tomorrow.  Also knocking back the price a bit.  Both RAVENS and O's did well last night, me thinks.

Last couple of days have been kind of stormy.  Had a big one Tuesday morning.  blew a bunch of stuff down around town - including a 20' by 24' section of wall on the north end of the high bay in the plant.  It is kind of nice in the press department now with all of the extra natural light.  Maintenance is thinking about adding some windows when they put everything together.

Been lurking on the forum using a Samsung tablet.  I can read everything OK, but cannot post for some reason.

Got some train stuff in that has been back ordered for a while.  A Thomas starter set for my great nephew's 2nd birthday (gonna drive his parents nuts with it Devil ), a Santa's reindeer rocket fuel tank car, a PE letters to Santa Mail car, and the PE themed aquarium car.

Week from Saturday we've got a kids program at the KATY Depot museum.  Trying to decide what theme I want to use for my layout.  Thinking about putting together a Warner Brothers themed train as one choice.  Marvin the Martin rocket launcher, Roadrunner and Coyote gondola, Speedy Gonzoles Rocket flat car pulled by Sante Fe war bonnet Alcos.  The Coyote Ambush Shack too.

DDG - whale sushi??????

Sir James - I'd be interested in seeing pictures of the Thomas themed layout you are putting together at Greenfield Village.  Where is the layout going to be located and how long will it be up?  My aforementioned grand nephew lives in Lansing.  If that layout is going to be around for a while, I'll let his parents know about it as a possible outing.

Prayers for healing and care.

All for now.

Good evening all,

Quiet day at work.  Went for a short walk for the first time in almost 2 weeks.  Feet are good.  Went to a nice program at the high school.  Rain has stopped for a while.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Word from Roy in Texas is that he is fine but has been very busy since returning from York. It's always nice receiving good news once in a while.

Ray drop them off at a V.A. hospital or some other places some one else could get use from them( The old Magazines) I take a few ever so often when I goto the V.A. as I don't have room any more. As much as I have bucked it I'm thinking of going digital just so I don't have the mag every time I turn around.

Good afternoon all,

Had a meeting with my financial guy this afternoon and he assures me that I will be able to handle the long term health care expenses for Helen.  Am going to dinner with her tonight.

Forcast is for 20% chance of rain but none so far.

Hope to get back to my layout soon.  I have been doing so much care giving that I'm not motivated yet.  Now I don't have an excuse.  Hope the Yorkies had fun.  The new orange hall is where I would be if I were there.  I'm thinking of throwing out a lot of my old magazines.  Too much trouble to try and sell them.  I could use some extra room.  A couple of my Ross switches have broken throw bars from age/use.  I will try to replace them without ripping the whole switch out of the layout.  I have some extra throw bars that I got some time ago.  You have to solder the switch points to some little gromets that go through the throw bar.  It's a little tricky but I have done it before.

Hi guys, Back from church and the bleed out. Feel good and they had chicken noodle soup with a bottle of water and some mini chips ahoy to eat while you re-grouped.
No news on Mark’s brother Jeff so I will take that as good news.
Jim and Brent, I looked up those shark bite fittings they look neat. Maybe I will try those out on the next project because I have everything I need for this one. All the outdoor faucets are in PVC and all the rest of the plumbing is in copper. I can cut off the whole outdoor system without interruption to the rest of the house.
Cold and wet so it will wait for a better day.
Working on placing four goose-neck lamps on the layout just to stay in where it is warm.

Dennis, I used to love going through junk yards. Not so much now.

Prayers for BOC
Have a good one.

Kev - Sorry to hear about Jeff, that really sucks. FYI - They sell extralong sillcocks at Home Depot and Lowes with the SharkBite quick-connect on the inside end. I bought 18" ones last year and they are awesome, the valve is now inside the house, so no more frozen sillcocks and no more of those ugly protectors during the Winter! Thumbs UpThumbs Up

Been watching it rain here the past couple hours, Mother Nature finally cleaned the pollen off the Durango that she put there.

Not much else going on. take care

Morning Everyone !

Not much happening here on the train front. Had some issues over the weekend so the doc had me go in first thing monday for some blood work, ended up increasing my meds again , second time this month. We'll see where this goes.

Been dropping in on Jeffrey's Diner over on the MRR side to check on Barry, a.k.a. BlownOut Cylinder. He was having some rough going with his CHF, the last word from his wife, Audrey, was that he was back in the hospital and it wasn't looking good. If you would just say a prayer for him and for Audrey in hopes that we will see him posting again soon.

Good evening from wet Southern Ohio,

Been crazy busy around here. Friday my bride and I went to Columbus to present a married couples retreat, got home late Sunday and started the new job on Monday. I did not have the internet access Sunday to post the SPF.

I have a ton of training to get done to re-qualify as a supervisor in a radiological / contamination area. Luckily I had most of the modules before so it was more refresher, but so far this week it has been 30 hours of study or testing.

Kev - Ever use the shark bite fittings? They are great! I keep a bunch on hand for emergency repairs and general work.

Bob- The 290's are great engines, pretty good pullers.

Buckeye - The folks who were shot were not kin, but they did live close to the kids other grandparent's kin. Still not much more news.

RT - Nice!

Time for bed 0500 comes quick!

Good night and may God bless

Evening all,

Kevin sorry to hear about your friends brother but sounds like they have things under control now and pray he starts improving.

Not a lot going on today. Won a auction that had some bennies to it I wasn't aware of until I did some searching, I was bidding because of 3 tin plate prewar passenger cars but turns out it has two one smaller than the other, Ive's Gondolas. Nice benny if you ask me.

Thats about it for me you all have a good night

Good day at work even though both pains were there.   Rain again washed out all planned home activities.  Wished I had more to report, but I do not.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Raining and crappy cold.

Mark called me to update me on his brother Jeff.  Well after they got Jeff to Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda, CA. They found out that the first hospital in San Diego had it all wrong. His liver is not the problem. The big bleed was in his esophagus and even after they scoped it they missed the problem. To add insult to injury he contracted a MRSA staph infection at the first hospital in San Diego.  WOW what next???

Went shopping with the money I did not spend up north and got two pairs of new jeans, some pocket T shirts, and some new briefs. I got the outdoor faucet but ain't going to change it in the rain and found out my PVC glue is dried out so now I have to get some of that anyway.
Tomorrow I will donate some blood at the church, they always have good home-made soup for those who donate. Won’t help Jeff but maybe someone else in need. Good to bleed out now and then anyway.

Morning all. Last night turned out to be pretty good. On another forum a member placed a postwar 224 US NAVY b-unit shell for sale for $15 including shipping in good condition. So I bought that and I found at JUSTTRAINS the frame, the correct trucks and the piece in the middle that simulates a fuel tank. So now I have a second Navy B-Unit :)

RT, wish you would of said something. I have a B-unit frame left over I would of given you from making the twin motor B unit.  Bang Head
