Evening fellasFriday, Saturday, and Sunday the new grill got a good breaking in. Tonight the kiddos wanted spaghetti... Sunday I made filet mignon with my special dill, oregano, black pepper rub wrapped in applewood smoke bacon... yummy, yummy, yummy in my tummy!Had to buy a trailer on Saturday to haul the old grill to the dump. Of course in MD you can't drive it away when you buy it, you have to have plates for it first, and you can't get plates at the trailer dealer, that has to be done at the MVA, and the MVA doesn't do tags and titles on Saturday, that is only done during the weekdays, and they are only open 8:30am - 4:30pm, because you know everyone is off work during those times. I got to the MVA at 11:30, at 11:45 4 of the 7 people behind the counter get up and walk through the door - never to return. At 11:47 the lone remaining agent doing new plates calls C20 (I'm C36), C20 just happens to be an elderly lady who did not fill out her paperwork prior to getting to the counter... takes her 45 minutes to fill out the paperwork... another agent arrives at the counter, but this lady who just walked in walks right up to the counter and starts talking to her, the agent needs help from the agent working with the elderly woman, so she interrupts him, elderly lady finishes, rude lady walks over and keeps both agents from helping anyone else, male agent gets up and walks through the door. Over the next 30 minutes 2 more agents come to the counter (these are not the same ones who vacated right after I arrived), and start helping people. 15 minutes later the male agent returns - and my number is called. 5 minutes later I am walking out with my tags (title to arrive in 2 weeks). I was floored. I could not believe it takes that long to get tags in this state. What I wouldn't do to move a bit West or South to one of the Virginias.... friend of mine who moved from MD to TX last year said it took them 20 minutes to reregister in TX... what does that tell you? Doug - the job is good for now. will keep looking. The Q wants me to look into a Federal Job, but not sure I can go back to that...Fife - if you need assistance with 'the move', let me know. I have extra equipment now. Not sure if I will make it to York next month...

Evening from wet and warm (70F) Southern Ohio,
I did another day of substitute teaching today, this time for 6th grade. It was fun. This was our youngest's class. Going back Tuesday to sub in Spanish class. Now this should be interesting. If nothing else this is additional information on my resume!
Dennis- I've seen the same thing where people get crazy and bid up stuff that they could go to the store for and get cheaper.
Ray- Tough news about your wife. You're good man to be taking care of her.
Brent- How do spell frustration? BMV
Time to pick up kids from sports practices
Good night and may God bless
Jim
Good evening all,
Slow day at work. AJ's team salvaged a 6th and 11th from the crashfest that was St. Petersburg. Penske won....again. Rain finally let up....for a day. Long two days ahead of me. Ugh.... I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
88 - At least now we finally have something to bring home our big haul from YORK!
Morning all. Sun just came out. Had some storms last two days. Last night big hail storm but seems no damage. Been extra warm.
Voting day in NC.
Dennis, take your time on the bumper cover. When you don't rush, it is done perfect.
Brent, every good man needs a nice trailer.
Got a meeting downtown at noon. Cousin's funeral one block up right after. Don't usually attend funerals unless very close [usually do the visitations]. This cousin was very nice to me during my tinue with the State. He was President of Community Colleges for years.
Have a good one.

Afternoon all!
Beautiful sunny day today. Got the boat to dealer for the exhaust manifold gasket replacement and a good cleanup. Might get it back tomorrow afternoon, Thursday at the worst.
TX DMV in our area allows appts. You are crazy if you do not schedule one. They use your cell phone and text a 1 hr warning so you have time to get there. And you can delay or cancel your appt using the original scheduling text.
Ray -
Have a great day all!
Regards, Roy
Aloha. Foggy and cool. Supposed to storm tonight when the youngest has a concert at school. We can use the moisture. Ray, you're a good man... Brent, the only thing that works in this state is the DMV. Someone greets everyone as you walk in the door and triages. In-and-out. Of course, with the state's continuing budget battles, they stopped mailing notices for when your registration is up - collecting 3x the usual fines so far this year...

Best time to go to the DMV is in the worst weather.
Nice on The North Bluff, 67 but windy. Winter returns next week.
Doug, we still have plenty of moisture around here. Ordered wifey's sticker last week and it was here in three days. They will remind you to re-new by e-mail if you want.

Ok day at work. Great weather, but did not get to enjoy it. Quiet evening at home. I hope everyone has a good day.
Mornin' boys. Cloudy and 45 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Spent last night packing up just the Postwar stuff I had amassed this past year. Each piece was secured in bubble wrap, and neatly placed in and around the Marx freight terminal. When I went to pick up the container, nearly gave myself a hyeena. Called into duty this morning with the grandson, so not sure how much more sprucing I can achieve on fifedom today.
Aloha from a blustery Chicago where the hot air from yesterday's election is still blowing - and the overnight thunderstorms are heading to points east. The rain held off until after the youngest's middle school band concert. I appreciate the band directors don't hold everyone captive (since they have 3 bands) and kept it to a half-hour. Sounds like you are ready to move, Fife. (Oooh, I love that tin-plate freight terminal). Kev, the DMV wants each VIN number to sign up for email notifications. Not something I have with me
Hello all
Covering a shift for a co-worker today. Will head home tonight.
I went to DMV to register the Datsun last week. Other than a mix up over whether it needed an inspection or not, it only took me about an hour. Most of the time I just renew over the internet. The older cars (not the Datsun:) don't need to go thru emissions, so you just send them the money and they send you the sticker.
Getting the '63 Coupe titled will be fun though. It has been so long since it has been re-titled or registered that it has been purged from the system. I have to bring the car down so they can do an inspection to verify the VIN number and then they can rebuild the file. This will require some better tires and Bill's tow dolly:)
Not much done on the project front this week. I did work on some of my old electronics. I have a signal tracer I bought not too long ago to use mainly as a test speaker. Was looking thru what it's going to need in upgrades to get it working again.
Hoepfully Bill and I can a least get the bearing units assembled for the 4dr tomorrow. We have a club picnic coming up Saturday and I'd like to take the van, but I really need to put in the front door/window seals before making that kind of drive. That's prob a good day right there. We'll see.

Good morning,
Well I went to get gas and drop off some trash at the dumpster. When I went to back out from the dumpster Brain's mother Lonnie crashed into the truck with their golf cart. I did not see her coming or for that matter even think about anyone behind me. So it tore the ABS fender off the golf cart and ripped the side off the back step on the pick up that you use to get into the bed. Guess I will be looking for a fender for the golf cart.
I got back then flipped the mower deck over and cleaned it up and took off the blades. Nothing to do now but wait for the parts to get here.
Doug, If you have the registration in the glovebox, take it out and get on line with the DMV site. There is a password number and a pin number on the registration that will get you into the system to renew and when you do it will ask for an e-mail address so they can sent the notifications to you. Not sure but I would think you have to do it for every car as they come up.
The grass has turned green this week.
Evening folks,
Another nice sunny day today.
Not much to add today - just relaxing in front of the TV.
A long day at work. Some parts went well, some not so much. Pain one was gone so pain two was quiet today. Weather very breezy. Made some progress tonight on a project. Will take longer than anticipated (don't they all), but now I have a better idea of what I need to do. I hope everyone has a Good St. Patrick's Day tomorrow.
OK I guess I will do it.

Happy Birthday Brent!!!
HAPPY St. PATRICK'S DAY!!!
Just got back from the Ritchie Auction site in Morris. Wow could a guy who likes equipment get into trouble there. The place is huge and just about anything you could dream up is there.
I registered and put bids in on some Diesel fuel transfer tanks. Two old ones and two new ones. They set it up so you can bid on more than one and if you don't get the first you get a chance at the second one. Hope I don't end up with one of each.
Afternoon FellasThanks for the B-Day wishes. Not doing anything special (as far as I know) till tomorrow, taking the kids to the circus in the morning, then doing some family stuff in the afternoon. Not getting anything with flanged wheels this year.Installed a trailer mount jack and a spare wheel mount on the trailer yesterday. Now just need to stop a TSC and get a spare, also bought a lock so no one can hook-up to it and drive off (while in storage) and you can lock the hitch-lock while towing so no one can unhitch the trailer from your car and drive off with it. Not that I think I would ever need to really use this, but it is nice to have!Fife - if we have to take the trailer to York to haul our yeild, then I bought the wrong trailer because I'll need one that I can sleep in!
Happy Brent!
Around here trailers do not last long. You have to put a wheel lock on it. A battery 4 inch side grinder with a cutting disk makes short work of cutting the hitch lock off.
Grilling some burgers
Evening all - not posting as much now that I'm back to client work again. Plus, with spring roaring into town it's time to shift focus to things outside moreso than indoors. I have bought a couple of additional cars but am winding down for the time being - now have enough rolling stock to keep the boy well-interested.
Also bought a couple of used model railroading books that were written in the 1940s and 1950s for boys - at least one of which I can remember getting from the library when I was a kid. It's been fun to read them (even learned a couple of things!), but more so that Noah can have them in a few years to read as they don't seem to write books for the hobby targeted at non-adults anymore. They talk about the impending decline of the steam engine, mention PW items as the latest technology, and provide advice for those who don't have A/C house current. I will have to pass though on using powdered asbestos for building scenery and instead find some water glass at the local druggist...

Good evening from warm sunny Southern Ohio,
Got the mower out and cut grass yesterday, then cleaned out some gutters. One downspout was plugged, and it was due to a 3” screw through the ell onto a short connector. That was not the way I originally installed it and I can only figure when the contractor put on the metal roof they removed the ell, and reinstalled it with the screw so long eventually it caught leaves and debris and plugged the downspout. You wonder what they were thinking or if they were thinking. The fender for the Civic came today and my neighbor is painting it for me. Maybe Saturday I’ll put it on.
Doug- Did you see the green river?
Fife- Go easy. I’ve found myself using smaller boxes these days.
Dennis- The play sounds really good
Happy Birthday Brent
Just a quick word to say I'm still coping. We are finally getting some help for my wife. Lady came and gave her a bath this morning. Physical Therapist is suppose to be here but hasn't arrived yet as of 6:00 PM. Too late! Should have come tomorrow. Too close to dinner time but I take whatever I can get. Wife is walking more now but still has too much pain. Meds are being taken as directed but need better pain management by the doctor. Got a call from oldest son who says he and younger brother will split up and one will take me on a ride on the new Gold Line while the other does care giving for my wife. It would be a nice treat for me to get out of the house for a while.
later,
Ray

Absolutely nothing went right today. Should have stayed in bed. Worked on last light project. Got it all hooked up, put in a bulb and.....nothing. Too dark by then to check everything. Go figure. Talk about luck of the Irish..... I hope everyone has a good day.
Wake Up!!!!!!!
Sunny but colder at 34. Today with a high of only 49 still not bad for March. Just waiting to see how the auction goes later.
SPRay Glad you getting more help with the wife.
Good afternoon all,
I've been so busy I completely forgot that yesterday was St Patricks Day until I heard something on the evening news about it.
Still waiting for more medical help for wife. Making a lot of phone calls today.
Later,
Hello there..........
TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow..Where is everybody?????????
Been a long week. Manilow was great......Altoona show was good too. Got a box of cork roadbed, two blue box Athearn locos, (Conrail GP-9 and PRR F-3 passenger) and some miscelanious parts for less than retail cost of the roadbed.
Missed a lot of sleep on the weekend. That was compounded by a crazy week of work. At the office till 9 one night then on a jobsite @6 the next morning for a service upgrade before the stores open. That did not go well as my foreman was not ready, didn't even have every thing needed on site. Not sure how much longer he'll be a forman. We did get the change complete with out impacting any tennants.
Last weeks buffet count was 805. This week was off. Probably less than 700.WE shall see. One more to go. Came home to a shower, a hot tub soak and a glass of wine. Ready to crash now. hope to get back some of that lost sleep this weekend.
Fife ..........good luck on the house swap
Ray.......good news on help with your Mrs. Mom is giving us a run.........
Dozing off here. Belated birthdays to those I missed
Prayers for those in need

Fairly good day at work. Finally got third light to work at home. Watched Grimm. May go to TCA meet at Cincy tomorrow. I hope everyone has a good day.
Nice day in the Ol' Pueblo.
Hepled out trying to figure the problem w/ the turn signals on the trolley. Found a lot of what is was not, but no cookies yet.
Going to go to a picnic w/ the Corvair club tomorrow. I'll be driving my friend's '61 Lakewood since he has some eye issues and his girlfriend is 90% blind. Was thinking about taking the van, but I really need to get the rattles out of the front doors and windows before that kind of trip. This will help us both.
Going to have to quit my job soon. The schedule is physically and mentally killing me. At 14 years, it's been a long run and mostly good, but it's time. I've got a little over 3 months until my yearly contract ends, when I will tell them I'm not renewing it. Understandibly this is a bit nerve wracking for me, but somehting will work out.
Wow Bob don't know what to say. Not sure how old you are but know you ain't a spring chicken. Hope you do well. Will keep you in our prayers for soemthing to show up when you need it as you go on your journey.
