Sun but cold
Snow lot's of snow. The pavement was warm enough that I don't have to shovel but the car will have to be cleared off. 34 today 50s by Thanksgiving.

Mornin' boys. Rather breezy and 46 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Youngest princess painted "piping" on all the gingerbread structures last night, and I jazzed up a Lemax Modern Santa Flyer. Wifey startin' to put the spurs to me to get this thing done by next week. Gonna be hard to do with Thanksgiving.
Last run for Boy Wonder in NASCAR. It would be kinda cool if he won it all.
dbaker - Hey, us east coasties watch in amazement at some of the laws your representatives dream up. I don't doubt there's something in Cali law that comes down on Joe gun owner. Overwhelmingly, folks in blue support 2nd Ammendment.
Evening Guys,
Sure Glad to hear about Christina and Ray's wife! Its wonderful that both are doing so well!
Kinda warm here today, was in shorts and T-Shirt all day working in the garage, was even tempted to takt the shirt off. Suppose to be the same tomorrow, we were suppose to have some good winds this pm, but they didn't materialize here anyway.
Been working on the 2nd edition of the Control Panel, been trying to reuse the same LEDs and toggles, but that sure has been a lot of work. It would be easier to just build new, which I think I will start tomorrow.
Have to keep reminding myself we are entering the Holiday season, especially with the weather. Wife has taken over the TV with the Hallmark station, 1 or 2 of the stories and Ive had enough, they are all about the same. Hopefully Sunday will get to see the Nascar race.
Think I'm getting over my bout with the Shingles, forehead has some sores, but the symptoms are very mild. (IF YOU HAVE NOT HAD THE SHOT THEN GET IT!!!)
The Cal-Stewart Train Show was today and tomorrow, (biggest show west of the Mississippi). From what I heard from a couple of people is wasn't worth the drive. And, $30 to get in!! Needless to say I didn't go.
Need to do some yard work and stuff this week. We put up Christmas decorations next week-end, and Chris invited some friends over as "Labor", I think he is planning a party.
Wifes best friend was broken into last week, and quite a bit of stuff was stolen. Police said there were 4 people involved. Really a sad situation. One thing they were told by the Police really distribs me. They said that if a gun was stolen, and subsequently involved in a crime, that they could be charged for the crime! That can't be right !!!! How could you be charged for robbery if a stolen gun of yours was used in the robbery, or if there was violence involved. Something is dramatically wrong. (Fife, need your take on that!)
Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend, take care and be careful.

Good evening all,
Long day and I guess a good day. Lucas came by and loaded a bunch of stuff in our van and his car. All but one piece of big stuff is left. We are getting some room back in our place. Weather was not bad enough to prevent the move, but it made me nervous for a while. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,

Good morning all,
Hello Phish, welcome back and look forward to more post.
Wife's surgery went very well yesterday on her leg. Doctor is confident that all of the cancerous tumor was removed. She is on pain meds for a short time but can walk a little. They want her to stay off her feet as much as possible for the next day or two.
Just found out that a good friend of mine who I worked with on the railroad almost did himself in by taking too much Aleve. He damaged his stomach, kidneys, bladder and a lot of other stuff. He had to have surgery and was in and out of hospitals. Holding his own for now. I called him yesterday and found out he is living in Texas. For a smart guy, he sure made a dumb choice on medication.
We had lots family at the hospital yesterday but Helen and I are alone today. I might try to pick up a barbequed tri tip roast precooked at the store today. They do them and ribs on a charcoal fire every Saturday.
Thanks to everyone for the prayers concerning my wife's surgery.

Mornin All.
Doug's kinda quiet this morning, out shoveling maybe ?
Here it's supposed to be pretty warm, lo 90's maybe but up in Ray's and Don's area "Red Flag Warnings" have been posted.
Yesterday's run went well, only one gremlin appeared. Unfortunately it was one of the runners who brought in his NEW halloween engine from MTH, registered on the handheld in only a few seconds all sounds were good, it moved about five feet and died, as in stick a fork in it dead. Acting kinda like something is/has shorted out. It was in the cradle for pre-run service longer than it actually ran. Oh well, better now then next halloween after the warranty had expired.
Will be working Christmas On the Prado, pc name is Dec Nights, on Dec 5th. We will be open from 11am til 4pm, break for an hour then open again from 5pm til 9pm. Will make for a long day but if all goes well it should be fun, except for maybe the traffic after the museum closes.
Well, break time is over gotta get back to work.
Later all, stay warm and safe.
Snow started here early this morning. It's sticking in the grass but the pavement is still warm. Looks like the snow will win eventuly.
Heart attack snow out there. Very wet and heavy.
Well we have about 6" + on the deck but on the drive and the warm ground maybe 2" to 3" so not to bad so far. It looks worse by Doug.
Still snowing and will be till 3:00 this afternoon. I am going to pick up the kids at 11:00 this morning so oh boy.

Hello all
Quiet night here on the mountain. Still getting used to being back on night shift.
V8 - glad it didn't end up worse and nice that you were able to get the other car fixed
Kev - I haven't seen that many turkeys since the last time I watched CSpan:)
88 - glad things worked out for Christina. That's a tough thing at a young age
Last time I was off we got the turn signals working better on the Corvan. Replaced a few dash lights too. And I found the last piece of sheet metal @ Bill's so I can button up the engine compartment and put the bumper back on.
Broke down and made the first order of gaskets for the front door windows (after 53 years it needs every rubber piece replaced:). It's all mostly available, but will have to come in increments.
So a few projects over next weekend. No big plans for TG. Prob sleep half the day anyway:)

Good day at work, better day at home as the last of the work is done on the house! The last little project to enclose the water heater and furnace was done today. Tomorrow Lucas is coming to get more of his stuff. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. This has been the busiest day on the forum in a long time. I hope everyone has a good day.
V8Vega I got my 88 Honda CRX Si that I overheated back from the mechanic today. He put on a rebuilt cyl. head, new thermostat, new heater hoses, new spark plugs, oil change, cost 932.11 + 27.28 Calif. tax = 959.39. Labor was 495. I have too much money in this car but I plan to keep it a long time. CRX’s are a honda classic probably going up in value and I like it. Glad to get it back, I had visions of having to sell it for next to nothing with a bad motor.

Dennis, you have had one heck of a day! Good show on tonight about Paul Newman's racing passion. Very good show. I watched him at Elkhart Lake's Road America when my boy was about 18 months old in 1980.
Good luck tonight Doug,, Looks like that cannon is pointing at you and not the Chief. WOW 9". Better get with Buckeye and help him aim it.
So I thought I had,,, better set up the John Deere. She now has the snow plow and chains on her and is ready to rock. Bring it on.
We were going to have Katie's grand-kids tomorrow afternoon and over night but Dan told me when he got out of the tree stand he has the chills and feels bad and if we get that much snow I bet they will push it off. Katie told me that Jordan has been driving them nuts every day about coming out here and doing crazy stuff to punish them like getting eggs out of the fridge and cracking them so she told me to put ours on a top shelf. He is something else!!!!
88 -- Glad Christina is doing better.
fife -- Always another on another day.

I keep in touch with Hudson John, He is doing good but between teaching vocational school every day and some nights watching his grand-daughter and caring for his mother he is one busy retired guy.
Checked my records my mom had and I Chicken Pox in 1957 so I got my shingles shot today. Nothing to it.
What's that other saying? "If mama ain't happy..."
We'll be allright in the end, B. Good news about your little princess. I'm just a phone call away if you need me.
Well, got a last minute call to action to pick up grandson. Ahhh, retirement...
Mornin' fellasWell it has certainly been an interesting and troubling past 6 months. For those that have not heard my company was merged with another larger company on Nov 1st. I have been searching for a new job and trying to get hired on with the new company. Nothing on either front has panned out, unfortunately. I have something in the works that if it works out will result in a 25% pay loss, but I will be able to work from home which could off-set a bit of that 25% pay loss, plus we will no longer need to worry about pre and post school care for the kids since I will be home. The bright side of this is I will finally be able to transition into the career I've been trying to get into for the past 5 years, and I will be able working on a project that will benefit our Vets so I would be honored to make a sacrifice for those that have sacrificed for us.I can finally post about what has been going on with Christina as well. She was diagnosed with Juvenile Arthritis in August. During her initial rumatologist appt he was VERY concerned with everything that had transipired prior to that visit. At her follow-up visit in September she showed little improvement so he started her on more aggresive treatment plan. Part of that was to put her on pregnazone, and at the dosage she was at for a 4yo it made her even more hyperactive than normal. During her 3rd visit the inflamation in her knee is nearly gone, both ankles show no signs of inflamation, and her right wrist is nearly inflamation free as well. He has reduced her dosage, but we've seen little slowdown. She goes on Tuesday for her follow-up with the opthomologist. She isn't quite out of the woods, but her prognosis is much brighter than it was in August, and she does not need to transition to an even more agressive, more dangerous treatment plan!
Other than that - always great to hear from some of our 'missing' but never 'forgotten' friends. Good to have DJ and Sturgeon back! Now if we can just get Brutus, RedFire, Hudson John, and AF Ray back into the mix it will be like old times.Fife - sorry to hear about the homestead. You guys will find something that fits you both as well as you fit together.Peace, love, and God's blessings to you all.

What's that old saying Kev? "It's hard to fly like an eagle...."
Your sure right about that Fife. You never see them in season.
Funny thing is after they wondered off they went out back and walked right under the tree stand Danny was sitting in.
The Budweiser sign in the window of my Menards Bar and Grill broke yesterday. I not sure how but the feed wires snapped off. So I ordered a Miller High Life sign to replace it. The problem is figuring out how to get into the building to do the work. It is not made to come apart.
Sun and 34 this morning. The man says nasty stuff is headed our way for tomorrow but we are suppose to stay on the warm side of it. Time will tell..........S.J.
Good morning,
Chili is in the crock-pot.
Sun is out but way colder. 44 for the high. 32 now. Dan is in the tree stand. Shotgun season started today for the next three days.
No big plans.
Good to see Jim posting.
These guys and gals must know it is not Turkey season. This was out the den window at 8:20 AM today.
Thanks for the welcome back!
It is a sunny 36 with a light frost. Bride helping with the high school senior retreat so I got the kids to school. I'm off this morning and starting three extra night shifts this evening.
Latest train related item I aquired was a Colber Oil Gusher, the guy at the local hardware / toy store often picks up trains and when he gets any American Flyer he calls me. The Colber looks just like the AF gusher so it fits well.
The tin plate trains are really catching my eye. Ive picked up several Marx items and they amaze me on how robust the locos are, and the clackity clack sounds neat. That's what Ive put around the tree for the last few years.
I'm going to try and go back through the threads to catch up on your alls life at least the recent posts to re-aquaint myself with whats going on with you.
May God bless
Jim

Jim (Sturgeon Phish),
Its great to hear from you. It sounds like life is very busy and fulfilling for you, which is a good thing. Those wonderful Flyer trains will always be there waiting for you to come and play with them. You would be amazed to see how much the Pre War Flyer thread has grown since you were posting regularly.

Good day at work. Good night at home as we had Pizza King pizza and went to see the Peanuts movie, which was good. Also got to see the local Honda train rumble through town with 48 cars in tow. Trying to make arrangements with Lucas to move more of his stuff Saturday. Kind of weather dependent. Phish, good to hear from you again. I hope everyone has a good day.
Sturgeon-Phish Hello All, Banks sent me a note and it spurred me into reactivating my account as I had forgotten my log in information.I have been doing very well, very busy between work, raising of our three grandkids who are now 13 and soon to be 12, and my duties as a deacon has expanded to serving 7 churches in our county. I still love the American Flyers and have also started acquiring the early Marx tin plate. No layout due to lack of space, and I have been spending less money on trains the last few years, much to the delight of my lovely Bride. It was sad to hear about Chuck.May God have mercy on his soul.He gave it a long tough fight.I’ll never think of Blueberry’s without being reminded of him. I thought of you guys very often and feel guilty for letting our relationship go into a pause mode.I contacted Customer Service and Jenny hooked me up; Thanks Jenny! I do miss the comradery of the coffee pot and hope to re-engage. Jim AKA Sturgeon-Phish

Phish,
Thanks for the response.
I often think ofyou and sort of figured you were busy with life and the grandkids. They do have a way of occupying your time. Especially with them living with you.
Please stop back from time to time and keep us updated
Off to bed

Evenin' boys. Raining & 61 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Coming down with another cold, and fortunately it was Wifey's day off, so she dealt with grandson. I did take time to teach him the fine art of shooting plastic army guys with a rubber band. His mama didn't ask about the welts on his face...
Banks - Didn't agree on our final offer, so we walked. I could see it wasn't what she longed for. Search continues.
SPMan - Best of luck to your Mrs. tomorrow.
dougnotta - Good news.
