Good late morning on Friday the 13th.
We did have a good time in the train room drinking some beer and running trains last night with my friend who is up from North Texas. No pile-ups so we did not get out of control. I do need to turn up the volume on the Williams Black Bonnet F3 so you can hear the tru-blast over the track noise. I know I have done it on my other Williams engines but got to remember how. Not a big thing if I recall. I think I need to remove the shell to do it.
SJ, this is a bad day for paraskavedekatriaphobia sufferers.
North Central Illinois here V8 and gas is @ $2.049
Up-date,
Found out what was wrong with the sound. The speaker was out of the baffle that it should be in so once I put it back in place it is perfect now.
My new set.

Florida and Michigan represented here. That coldness I predicted finally hit the panhandle. Gas, it's been $2.39 or so round these parts.
I guess everyone stayed in bed this morning, hiding from Friday the 13th.
Wet gloomy and windy here, Hi in the 50s today. At least the Hi wind warnings have been lifted.

Good evening all,
Busy day, long day at work with meetings and tedious work. Very windy in the Hoosier land. Got gas for 1.999. Good deal. Wife's sister is visiting. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Don, dog gone it, you don't deserve this. Hope you get over it soon.
Finally got a date for wife's skin cancer surgery on November 20th. I'm being given nurses help before, during and after this procedure and even some other home care services. Whatever it is, I'll take it.
Just got some phony advertizing call to "lower the interest rates" on my credit card. You can't get much lower than 0. I never carry a balance.
Cal Stewart is coming up soon but I won't go. Have had no opportunity to do much with the trains for the last year. Hopefully that will change soon with more home care help.
Youngest son is spending less and less time at home and more and more near his girlfriend. That's what love does for you I guess. Then after being gone for three days he tells me he won't be home until late on Friday because he is going out with friends from work. Duh! I asked him, what the heck this was all about. I think I shocked him back unto reality. I need him here as much as possible although I don't interfere with him seeing his fiance.
later,
Ray

Gloomy & very windy here too. I was out for a haircut this morning and the traffic lights are swingin & swayin. Temp is 52. Edison is expecting a lot of power outages today. No train news.
Good morning,
Wow a lot of high wind over night and still blowing. Lots of limbs down and the 100’ snow fence is just about flat on the ground bent the fence posts right over. So I guess I know what I need to do today.Get some stronger fence post and swap them out. Better to figure it out now than when there is a blizzard.
Morning all Can't sleep will go back in a few
Don Prayers man you ran from the blanarney stone man you where suppose to touch it for good luck. Hope things turn around for you soon.
I'm kinda agreeing with Fife dog
Hope all doing good this thursday morning one more daytill TGIF.

Mornin' boys. Had the yatchett hauled out for the winter yesterday. It was very breezy, so I gotta get back down to the marina to hank down the laundry. Grandson is coming today, so we might take a trip to Klein's.
dbaker - Are you sure Bakedom isn't located on top of some ancient indian burriel ground...? Get well soon.
A friend got shingles that was enough to convince me. I got the shot.
Evening all!
Cheers to our vets!
Got some sprinkles but no real rain here today. Played fetch the tennis ball with daughters pup in back yard today and did not have to wash her paws to come in.
Don - my doc tried to talk me out of the shingles shot but I got it anyway. He said the jury is out on tHe effectiveness vs the cost. So far he said at this time they only know it's about 50% effective. Get well soon!
Regards, Roy
Busy day. Got cruise control on van fixed. Dental checkup (no cavities). Mulched leaves. Got all my train boxes into bigger boxes to keep dust off them. Did some stuff to keep wife happy. Watched Arrow. I hope everyone has a good day.
Hello all
Happy Veterans Day!
(From the fantail of the USS Iowa)
Don - you just don't seem to get a break. Take care
Back in town. Supposed to be fairly cold tonight.
Interestingly enough, for Veterans Day I went thru a bunch of my old uniforms tonight. Been sorting things under the layout as I work on downsizing the storage unit. Decided to donate a bunch of the stuff that was usable. A lot of it I don't fit in anymore anyway. Still use some of the jackets and I'll keep my dress blues for posterity sake:)

Evening All,
Been awhile, Things doing so so, but nothing I can't handle. Last week I was working on the Dr.s layout, connecting power drops. THEN to my disappointment I noticed 2 track switches I had omitted on the Control Panel!! Aw, crap! And of course they are located in crowded area and can NOT be easily added in. So I have to do it all over again! Certainly did not make me very happy, BUT it has to be done right. (I had posted a couple pictures of the Control Panel a month or so ago.) So start to disassemble it, and in the process it closes and hits me in the head. So no big deal keep on working. The next day boy do I have a BIG headache. And, it gets progressively worse Friday, Saturday & Sunday. So wife insists we go and check it out since ite swelling was very close to my right eye. We go to ER and they do a CT scan on my head and determine that there was not any severe damag, most likely soft tissue and a nerve near the eyebrow. Then Monday/Tuesday no relief swelling grows, eye swollen shut. Back to the ER last night. After 3 Dr's check it out, they come back and inform me I have Shingles! (Shot was scheduled for 12/4, doesn't do me anygood now!) So here I sit with lots of meds and eyedrops thinking of work I could do, but can't see well enough to do it. The Drs are real concerned about the eye to ensure the virus doesn't get in there. So far Opthomologist says eye is very healthy and looks really good. Have a follow up appoint Thurs AM. In the mean time dont have energy to do much, spent all day in the recliner.
BOTTOM LINE --- IF YOU ARE 50+ AND HAVEN'T HAD THE SHOT, GET IT NOW, SOONER THAN LATER!
Also, talked with the Chief today, and Frankie's knee surgery went reall well!
Hope all the other situations out there are doing well! Esp. Ray! Don't be concerned about me, I will get through thistoo, just take a couple of weeks.
So take care All and get that shot!
Don
V8, good news on your Honda. My 87 Buick passed the smog inspection with no trouble so I guess I will hang on to it for a while. Like you, I am not going to sell it for next to nothing.
Morning all Happy veterans day to my fellow veterans Got up late this am 10am and that is late for me put my flag out as do daily and then went about my morning routeen just behind schedule lol but I'm now caught up time to go get my 3 hairs trimed at Great clips it's free for veterans today. Bought some post train cars today to go behind one of my post war steam engines. so all is good talk to you all later.
Happy Veterans Day! There's a parade of reenactors and veterans in Atticville, Florida today, while the road ran a special rate on tickets for them. Mayor announced plans to erect a statue to the fallen, as well.
Happy Veterans Day! Thanks to all those who have served our great country.
I am enjoying the day off by running errands with the wife. I did sneak in a quick nap, but it was only about 30 minutes. We don't have any big plans for the rest of the day.
Doug M. - If you'd like, I can pass you his contact info. He lives in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and does shows in Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio. He might even make it out to Illinois but that isn't listed on his upcoming shows.
Congrats Banks!
A Veterans Day good morning.
Sun and 50s today, expecting a nasty day tomorrow with high winds.
Aloha and Happy Veteran's Day to you; sunny and cold, with a storm overnight and off to points east.

Good morning, 43 heading to 64.
Got to go bleed into a tube then get something to eat and then mattress shop with the wife.
Looks like the Williams Santa Fe Black Bonnet F3 A-B- A Diesel Set will show up tomorrow.
That will work Roy. I just drilled the stainless pipe, put a stainless cap on it and replaced the black iron one with it. Using the same front cast breather section.
And thanks and Happy Veterans Day to those of you who served.
tinplatacis Not fun. Any idea as to how insulation foam reacts to high humidity?

Evening,
Kev - saw your note about stainless pipe for the fireplace starter. Will check into it. To get 'er done I will initially replace with the black gas pipe. Thanks.
Been very busy but after this week some things will slow down a bit hopefully. Been goin' at it hard since beginning of Oct. Looking forward to holidays.
Rain tomorrow. Bring it on.
Congrats, Banks! Nice pictures as well. Busy day at work. Basically caught up on 2 weeks worth of cases in a day and a half. Watched Flash and Izombie tonight. Izombie was very good. I hope everyone has a good day.
Banks.....
Buckeye Riveter Nice work with the foam. I used some for a backdrop on my layout where plywood would be too heavy. I covered the inside of the garage door with a blue colored foam so it looks like sky. All I need to do is add some clouds. Ray tinplatacis Wetttttttttttt down here. Not cold yet, but it's coming. I might be leaving the floor finally and building a layout, finally have enough track and the like to justify it to my family. Hoping to get started next month, can't wait to see. Anyone had experience building their layouts out of foam (insulation board type)? Bout the only way I could make it light enough for the space I have, is mostly foam construction. I have a little experience with foam. In fact, everything is foam. It is very quiet. Just type into CTT search foam benchwork. There is more out there.
