Lots of prayers lately... Angel for Buckeye and SPRay.

Although I haven't met most of you, I definitely feel that this group has become rather close over the years.

I know as we grow older the inevitable happens, just makes you realize how short a time we have together.

God bless you all.

Kev - 60 mi - that was a little close...

Roy, Most know Tornados are close to us. We lost everything in an F5 that hit our hometown in Aug of 1990. 16 houses on our road "Vista Lane" and none were there after it hit. So It always shakes us up to see others go through that having been there. It hit Vista Lane just before it hit the Plainfield High School a block away.

Cool out tonight and the wind has died off.

Prayers for John's mom and 8N's MIL.

Good evening all,

Thank to Roy, Banks and others for the prayers for my terminally ill sister.

Condolences to all of you who have lost loved ones lately and prayers for those in need of them.

Had a big meeting with my financial advisor on Wednesday.  He is trying to figure out a way for me to be taken care of if I get sick and cannot help my wife for some reason.  It all sounds good on paper and will rely somewhat on my assets but I have to pass a blood test and minor physical.  I have already had a verbal interview to try and qualify for this program.  However, I am not holding my breath.  I am not in the best of health either.

Probably going out to eat tonight, mass tomorrow night and a TTOS meet on Sunday if I'm up to it.  My son will stay with my wife while I'm gone.

Buckeye, sorry to hear about the passing of your relative with Alzheimers.  My wife has not been diagnosed with it yet but she might have it too.

Lots of Dr. appointments for her next week.  We are seeing three of them on different days.

later,

Ray

RT - that would have been funny - wish I had thought of it!

DougdaG - get better soon!

Buckeye - Angel for your family.

Kev - 60 mi - that was a little close...

Spent the afternoon modifying a queen/king metal bedframe to fit a double bed. Unclear to me why they don't work that way anyhow. However - It was a very pleasant afternoon and worked with the garage door open.

Have a great evening all!

Regards, Roy

TGIF............................................

It has been a long week. On Easter Sunday my phone started to buzz while I sat in the pew at church just five minutes into the service.  It was my Mom.  I darted out the back to the library and called her back.  It was what I expected; my step dad had passed away.  He and Mom had been married just a few months less than 59 years.  So the gathering of the family began.  The funeral was Thursday with a military ceremony at the gravesite.  The death was expected.  He had been in the nursing home for over four years with Alzheimer’s.

Evenin' Fellas

Well I caught a bit of RedFire's bug and installed a Cold Air Intake on the Durango today. Sounds really nice now and a bit more power... not sure if mpg will go up or not. Now thinking about installing a MagnaFlow dual exhaust... Whistling

HEY THEY FIXED THE EMOTICON ISSUE!

Now if they could just make the editor box larger....

Just ordered tickets to take the family to see Thomas and the B&O RR Museum on May 3rd. Was floored that TheQ suggested it! Probably going to snow tomorrow. Whistling

Angel for Hudson's Mom and 8n's MiL

Still hoping to make it to the breakfast on Friday at RtCD. Will miss seeing Fife, just won't be the same walkin the aisle in the afternoon without him.

I am planning on Oct 15 and Apr 16 so if more can make it the better!

Afternoon Boyz and gurlz !

Been off for awhile, boogered up the back(twice) and the muscle relaxants and pain killers really made me goofier than normal as well as really sleepy most of the time. Even when semi-lucid it was just to uncomfortable to sit for any period of time.

No museum today, getting a bit "stir-crazy". Be galad when it is fully healed.

Doug, That Lionel link about the "Train Wreck" was interesting. Seems as though the state would have required that the studio clean up the site after filming. Wonder how much "hazardous" materials were/are still there ?

Seems like I am forever contacting sites to be able to get my passwords that I forget, especially the ones that require a high level of complexity to the password.

Got my Dr apointment for an "electrophysilolgy" test, from what I have found on-line it sounds like it will be a rather interesting day. Whistling

Prayers for 8n's MIL and John's Mom.

Time for another round of drugs which also means nap time.

Later all !

P.S. A YORK gathering would be cool, but extremely doubtful that I could make it.

sir james I

Forgetting is part of growing up. I know, I didn't feel like saying growing old.

A few months ago I called the credit union(I thought) to complain that I couldn't log into my account. After about five minutes with customer service I discovered I was talking to my Credit card bank...Duh. having so many different PWs is crazy.

S.J.

I hear you SJ,

Like Roy, I keep all of my passwords and web links in a word file that I keep off of the laptop so they are secure. Way tooo many of them and they just keep making you make them longer and longer. No way could I remember them all without my cheat sheet.

All of the front porch pickets are now clean and when dry in a few days ready for stain.  Indifferent

Good morning,

Well plenty of Tornado damage about 60 miles north. Wiped out Fairdale IL. but no one got killed or hurt bad so that is good. They had over 20 min of notice so that saved a lot.  Not a lot of population in the area helped to.

Prayers for 8N and John's moms

I think I will start washing the front porch railings so I can stain it. That should keep me going.

RT, I stand corrected they have now found two who died in the Fairdale tornado and one in very bad shape that may not make it. Tongue Tied

Cool here - to be 72 today and I think the same for tomorrow - nice and crisp this morning. Did not get any rain last night.

Cleaned out my closet yesterday and with some other stuff, took 6 garbage bags of clothes and 1 bag of bedding stuff to Goodwill yesterday. I am far from being finished on this. Now I need to check the clothes I did not throw out to see if I really want to keep or donate.

anj - great idea! I'm in! And how about a sound bite of the RR with the open headers? I had a red 1970 Plymouth Satellite (same body/platform as the RR) with the 383 when I was in school - got about 6 mpg, but gas was cheap and gas stations were plentiful in Houston!

Have a great day all! York comith!

Morning.  Had T'storms from 10 to past midnight.  Last line had some small hail in it.  No damage as I can tell.  Just loud.  Sunny and 69.  May have more this evening.  One part of the county last night had 5" of rain in a short period.  Prayers for tornado victims.   Heard John's Mom not doing well.  Hope she is better.  Prayers.  Have a good one.

V8 - I know exactly what you mean.  I was going to make some sort of 'old' comment here, but I just remembered that I did the same thing tonight - tried using the wrong password on the downstairs computer and was starting to wonder what the heck got updated and why won't the password work anymore.

Been traveling the last week.  My wife and I drove to Michigan over the weekend, then I had business in Windsor, Ont.

I just got home last night, while my wife is going to stay in Michigan this month to help her mom get around to doctors appointments and other similar errands.  For all of the tests her mom has had in the last couple of weeks, none of them have been conclusive.    Her next step is a liver biopsy.

Not going to be board this month, though.  I have a list, which includes things like lining up some needed house foundation work, painting a room, sorting, straightening, etc., etc., etc., etc.....

This weekends project will be getting the lawn mower back into service.  It is a battery powered electric.  The batteries are toast.  I got 5 or 6 seasons out of them, so I figure that is pretty good.  Drove to the Batteries + store in the next larger town tonight and bought a new pair of batteries - ones with higher amp-hour ratings than the original ones.  Only problem is, the terminals are not the same, so they don't package like the originals.  I'll make them fit, even if I need to add a 'power bubble' to the battery compartment on the mower.  A 3-d printer would be handy for this project.

All for now.

Good evening all,

A better day.  No intestinal issues.  Got my referee schedule for spring soccer.  Busy at work, but not overwhelming.  Good supper tonight.  Went for a walk at lunch.  Leg hurts some of the time then feels tolerable then hurts again.  Will have to live with it for now until after the Mini.  Then I can get it fixed.  Started draining the oil out of the small Toro tonight.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Morning all!

Cloudy here. To be in high 70's though the weekend. Rain predicted today, Sat, and Sun. May affect the NASCAR event Sat night in Ft Worth. Had T-boomers early this morning but it only spit some rain. Nothing to help the drought.

Charlie - excellent! See you there Fri unless something unexpected happens.

Dennis - for all the benefits PCs provide, as usual it seems to come at great cost.

Have a great day all!

Aloha. "It was a dark and stormy night..." And day I guess. And supposed to get super-warm too. Yay! But I have to drive a lot today, including bringing a whole bunch of old basement stuff to a local antiques store -who was intrigued by what I think is old junk when I described it to them at a chance meeting. Maybe someone will enjoy it better than it just taking up space. Proud of youngest (who struggles with all sorts of learning issues) - got to go to a honors breakfast with him at the middle school very early this am. Love Marx tinplate especially!

Good morning. Okay April 22-25. Guess everyone is just getting giddy about it. Confused

First off Prayers for your mom John, WOW rough stuff.  Angel Angel

Same here with the April showers that were thunder boomers at 4:30AM. Calling for 78 later today with severe chance. Wife is driving a loaner and her car is in the shop for repairs. SO if it hails it will be on the dealer's car. Stick out tongue

George's girlfriend was outside again last night moaning and making noise. He hid in the house. That time of year, she don't know he is fixed.

Ordered everything for the Marx projects yesterday so now to wait.

Otherwise no plans today. Maybe clean the track.

York is April 22 - 25

Not much going on these days other than work, work, work, and more work. Trying to get some system updates tested and rolled out to the user group, not that it will do much good, I swear we hire people who are seriously lacking in criticial thinking.
