Chief - Not taking on any pre-war. Already have a fine modern collection as it is...
Morning all. Rainy. Big rains last night. Some more today in forecast. County Commissioners this afternoon and Mayors' Assoc. meeting tonight. Had Dr.'s follow up this AM. Dr. called my cell and apologized for being sick and not go to her office today. Never heard of such. That whole practice is so personable.
Prayers for Christina. Hope all is OK.
Fifey, are you collecting "whities"? Read where you invited SJ to drop his off at your house.
All have a great week ahead.

A couple of thunderstormes blew through this weekend.
Quiet weekend. Watched the F1 race this morning and had the Indy Car race on in the background this afternoon.
Was tinkering with my 3656 coral and stock car today. Got the cattle running around the coral and through the car, but the transition needs some work.
All for now.
Good evening all,
Maybe the only time I can brag about the Indy 11 soccer team, but they are currently in 2nd in the NASL after Saturday's win. Not so good with Indycar as AJ's drivers did not place well at Long Beach. Did score a 1985 BN Unit car set at a TCA meet. Wife was with me and let me buy it. It is practically brand new. For the most part a quiet weekend. I did ref a game Saturday morning, and we watched a tape of Chelsea winning 1-0 over Man U. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Wifey just bumped me for the ACM show....
fifedog or maybe a combination. I'll just blame it on Bob and his blog.

Mornin' boys. Breezy and a little cooler in the Mid-Atlantic region. Hope to get my "grill on" before the weather. Looks like NASCAR race will be delayed. Spent all day yesterday preppin' and paintin' the yatchet bottom. When I looked in the boathouse mirror, I resembled John Candy in 1941. Anyway, almost finished the work on the hard, which is a good 3 weeks later than in the past. Some winter.
Dennis, spring has sprung out here on the North Bluff above Marseilles IL. We don't have great weather all year long like you lucky ones on the left coast. But we don't have the loads of people either. Been a heavy week staining rebuilding the deck steps and getting ready for the wife to cover it all up with her flowers. The weather could not of been better for outdoor work. Now it is cooling off and rain is on the way, so maybe some train time is needed? Have mowed the whole lawn and rolled it as well. Very dry for this time of year. Don’t forget those who lost everything in Oklahoma city 20 years ago.

SJ, how does the song go? "Repo man is on his way, fault line runs right through my bed, lost my lunch box somewhere but I'm still here" The late John Hartford who was on the Glen Campbell show sang it. He also wrote "Gentle on my Mind" which Campbell made a big hit.
I guess all the forum guys are doing Saturday things. Since I retired, every day is Saturday. Keep that railroad retirement coming in.
Son is off to car race in Long Beach today so I'm stuck here again but will take wife with me if I go out.
later,

Banks - those plants in bloom are old news here. The dayfodils and forsythias have been done for a week or 10 days here. I've got tulups, the lilac bush and quince bush in bloom. The trees are growing leaves, too. I'm a fair distance farther south than you are, though. I've got to get herbs, pepers, and tomatos in pretty soon.
Mid 70's and sunny. Line of cumulus clouds were approaching from the west when I left work - rain, the weather gussers say for the weekend.
I was talking to my LHS about ordering one of the NYC Lionchief Hudsons. None of his distributors have any. Rumor has it that the run is sold out.
V8 Dennis, you have confirmed what I thought too that the car ought to be worth at least 1000K if it is running. Thanks.
Wife went to another doctor yesterday for memory problems etc. Meeting went well. No change in medication.
Got a minor problem this morning with an outdoor water spigot. I attached an extension on my original spigot that has a built in valve for a 3/16 water line to my swamp cooler so that I can leave the main spigot open and the other one shut off and still get water in the 3/16 line. The shutoff valve in the extension must have gone bad this morning because now it won't shut off. Guess I'll just buy a new extension. The one that is on there now is only 6 months old. Nothing last long these days. Probably made overseas.
Sun and 70s for 1 day.
Enough snow has melted that I finally found the snow blower.
York time must be close.
Aloha. A beautiful Spring morning here too. Kev, that was a nice solution. Off to grocery shop and work a bit later. Oh Brent, I feel your pain with that update - and with the ups and downs of parenthood.

Very busy day. Did almost 30 case reports today. Listened to anyone and everyone complain (b word) about how I was and was not doing anything right. Funny how some people will find time to gripe and then turn around and ask you to help them out???? Went to see "The Longest Ride" tonight. Long and not interesting. All I could think of during the bull riding scenes was how the guy who built that sport into what it is today tried to do the same thing for Indycar and was only given 2-3 years to do the same for that sport. If he was still involved, Indycar would be in much better shape than it is today. If Long Beach is a disaster like St. Pete and NOLA, then it will be a very long season. Did go for a walk today, and I think shin splints are about gone. I hope everyone has a good day.
Brent went to a websire today in my old stomping grounds and saw you had hit like on it. My parents use to live in the Ephrata area ( brickerville rt 322 & 501 ) from 77 till they passed so Green Dragon was a normal stomping ground for me when it was opened and I was there when I was in the Navy I use to go up like every other week-end except when I was in Indian Head, MD then it was like every weekend
Loved going there and other places up there like weaver chocolates & nuts and others
Afternoon fellasI honestly have no idea how I keep sane.Work has been a nightmare since we were forced to deploy a system wide update that the project team did not feel was fully vetted. Well that was the last weekend in March and here we are 3 weeks later and we are still putting out fires and rolling out updates to address issues. x 1,000,000,000 for me. Been a lot of late nights and early mornings. Hoping tonight's update addresses more issues, at least 2 more major bugs that require addressing...Christina has been complaining about her legs hurting, we thought it was just 'growing pains', well yesterday she fell at daycare and was limping, so we made an emergency pediatrician appointment. Her knee is swollen and she was favoring that leg, so this AM we were at the radiologist for x-rays. She was a trooper and did really good till she had to get on the x-ray table. Then the tears started to flow. Got her calm enough for the first x-ray, then she needed to lay on her side... OMG! The heart strings were pulled to their max 'Daddy!!!!! I'm scared!!!!' being the first time I've heard her express it in such a way! Did my best to keep it together and calm her down and reassure her everything would be OK. After all was said and done, she got her stickers and even smiled and thanked the x-ray tech.X-Rays are normal, but she still needs to see a pediatric orthopedist...How do parents survive childhood?????????
rtraincollector Kev let me look I think I have a old marx drive wheel the one with the gears on the side of it.

Good afternoon,
Thanks RT but I think what I did will be fine. I drilled out the wheel so a 1/8” split rivet would fit in the hole. Then I put a nylon spacer to raise the rod from the wheel and keep the glue from going where I did not want it. I glued the rivet into place with Locktite metal epoxy. Looks like it will be as good as the original set up or better. I replaced the brush plate, brushes, and install the missing smoke stack and drive rod that was missing. I think my uncle will be happy.
Don, wow!, I didn't realize that all your does were broken too on that foot. Maybe you told me but I don't remember. Seems like I do remember something about a claim against the steel toe boot company. Hope the foot doctor gets you fixed up. You've been through too much already.
Fired up my old 87 Buick yesterday and took it out for excercise to charge the battery and make the tires round again. Still runs good. Sometimes I think about selling it but don't think it's worth enough to bother. It only has 90K original owner miles on it and is mechanically sound. It just needs new tires, rubber boots and a one new shock. BTW, it is old enough now to acheive antique car status but don't think that will ring anybody's bell. It needs a paint job also. Maybe V8 Dennis has some idea what it's worth. He has restored some older cars.
Thanks Doug. After 30 years "in the saddle", I do count my blessings. I have been fortunate.
Aloha. Grey-ish and cool-ish today. That's quite a milestone coming up, Fife. Just workin' at home today. Last night watched some baseball instead of hockery or basketball. Highlight of this day will probably be taking the dog for a walk
Mornin' boys. Sunny & 54 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Happy huntin' to all the Yorkies.
Buckeye - Congrats on 7K!
sirjames - You can drop your whities off to me, since I won't be doin' anything...
Banks - 4 weeks. Met with Personnel Tuesday. Ran my numbers, and they look good for where I'm headed.
